Violets

Another favorite flower of mine ... VIOLETS... love them... As a little girl I would have the patients to sit and pick a whole handful of these sweet little flowers... the stems would be about 2 inches in diameter... a lot of  Violets... my Mother would put them in this special little vase that was just the right height to show the little faces off of each little Violet... so these flowers have a very fond place in my heart... My college soriety Zeta Mu Epsilon was also based on the Violet... so it has followed me thru my life... and on our farm... I know that this is not a surprise... we have a lot of Violets growing WILD... VIOLETS... very special flower in so many ways..

I wanted to make a card for ONE ... just ONE challenge... and I did... this card is for the JUST RITE challenge... and that one alone!!!!

It is one of those cards also that took me all day to make... because every time I went to use something in my studio... it needed my attention... like clean up the punch area... re-organize them... so I can find some easier... Then I went to do the background of the Cuttlebug leaves... and re - organized them... and then the inks... etc etc.. so it took my all day to create this one card.. .but my studio is organized and cleaned up!!! YEAH... and I had a nice relaxing day on top of it...

Okay...more details..
I used a few different Spellbinders.. but I also used some the NEW Cuttlebug Embossing Plus Folders... love them. .  I hand cut the Just Rite stamps as I wanted a certain look on them... I wanted the edge of the rope to show  (which I embossed the rope with gold embossing powder by Ranger)  ..... and I wanted the center oval to have the rippled edge cut...

I embossed an extra flower stamp... and cut that out for the top of the gold frame... just as an extra .... so many times I see that on older cards... where they have carried the theme outside the frame... so that is what I have done here...

I used the Martha Stewart Pansy Corner and Border set for the white back panel... and then put some pearls all around the oval borders...

I had a friend over yesterday, and I was showing her some of the cards I had been making... she always sees them on her computer... but likes to see them in real life... she says that they look so much better in real life... we all have to realize that ... a picture is worth a 1000 words... but on the computer ... ????

This is the sketch... that we are to follow... and even though it is a circle.. mine sort of takes on an oval look, as I have ovals and circles through out the entire focal medallion... I love the way it turned out... hope that you do too.. what do you think??? Something I could have added ... or done a little bit differently???
Let me know... I am always open to suggestions... that is one good way to learn...

Oh well.....

Hope you had an enjoyable day... we had a very severe storm last night and the lower level of our home got slightly wet... like about 2 inches wet... that is where our bedroom is... so we were listening to the dehumidifier all night long... we had the stream on our land flood onto the land about 60 feet... it really rose up and swelled with water... a lot of short term flooding... so I am glad that there wasn't too much damage... a lot of very wet soil... so we will have to wait for the soil to drain prior to replanting everything that was planted last week... ugh... but that is what it is like living in the mountains... also farming... up and down... good with the bad... I think that sort of explains life in general... doesn't it???

Thanks so very much for stopping by for a visit... hope you will come back tomorrow for the Cuttlebug Challenge cards... I have quite a few that will be shown... so stop back if you get a chance...

With much Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie..

    Sorry about the flooding.
Love your violets. My mother had a special story about the violets too. (my dads first flowers to her were violets)
They are so sweet and delicate.
