You and me...

This week on I am the Diva  it is the 81st challenge... and this is how it is stated...

This week I have teamed up with the Diva and been graciously allowed to guest host this weeks Diva Challenge to bring awareness (and hopefully a little cash!) to this worthy cause.   for the Rely for Life....

So for all the details etc...  go to the above link... they are looking for donations... I am so very happy that so many people are so loving about this... Our local one is held in May... so many people are involved with this terrible thing... so all the help that they can get is GREAT...  My father passed away with Cancer... and so I am very aware of how quickly and fast the disease will attack a body...

Which brings me to my Zendalas for this challenge...

There are so many things that we can do to help so that we are not stricken with this deadly disease too... so this is where my thoughts are also...  Do you know that the radiation if coming towards the West coast of the USA???
Make sure that the produce, fish and anything else you desire to eat is SAFE... and that it doesn't have any radiation problems... I am so worried about all the life that is in our oceans that will be effected by this...  so that is what my zendala is all about...  the fish, the plants in the oceans... also the plants on land...  we need to pay attention... not only to what is coming on land...  but also so that we dont' have the same problems with generating stations...  something to think about... turn off the lights you are not using... turn the AC off... think about what you are using... and is it truly necessary...

The chains in the middle of the zendala are to bring to your mind... what is holding us all together... ???  Think about it...  oh my goodness...  chains...  chains of love, peace, and caring...

Here is a close up of the individual circles....  The attention was paid on the themes...  wow.. my mind is so working over time...

I used echoism, Knightsbridge, inapod, lilypads, linkd and I modified a few too...  I do love this type of art... it is truly like eating peanuts... bet you can't do just one tangle today???    I am working on the alphabet...  fun to play...

Then I start to think about all the problems that we have with even the food chain in this country...  GMO's... and the snakes in the grass...  thus my zendala here...  Pearls of Wisdom...  think about what you are eating... you are after all what you eat...

Eat whole foods... no processed foods...  eat organic, and enjoy the food for a change...

Corn is one of the most eaten genetically modified organisms that is eaten...  (GMO)  and it is loaded with chemicals... ones that you can NOT wash off.. it is on the inside of the veggie...  so think about it...  do you really need to eat that kind of thing... protect yourself from all these horrible dis- eases...  Eat Clean...

I have stepped down off my soap box now...  had to do this... it needed to come out in my art too...  we are so connected to our art in so many ways...

I went to Lee Ann's blog to leave a message for her... it took me over an hour to down load here blog... which wasn't that bad... but I wanted to leave a message for her.. but because of this 'WONDERFUL' dial up, I can not connect... so here is the message Lee Ann.... Thank you so very much for all the wonderful message you are always leaving on my blog...  you always leave a positive loving message...  thank you so VERY MUCH.... all of you do... thanks so very much...  I really wish I could see all your work... but Lee Ann's is truly wonderful... hope that I can reach that level of tangling...  keep it up ... and thanks for the love you send with each message...

Lorraine, in Scotland... thanks for the wonderful words.. you are a sweetheart...  I wish I could write to you...

All of the people that have left messages that are involved with tangling ALL seem to be such loving people... it is because you are all connected to the inner being... and letting it shine out through your drawing and doodling... thanks for all the love... to each and every one of you...

With that... I have said all I need to say today... at least for now... LOL...  Have a good one... tangle many lovely things... and enjoy each and every one of them...  thanks for the opportunity to share...I just posted about 20 or so tangles that I have done in the past few weeks... just click on the Zen Tangles in the right hand side of the blog...  hope you enjoy them...

Also thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope to see you soon...  I am addicted and lovin it all...  tangle away...

Rain drops and sketching

What kind of a title is that?? Rain drops and sketching... well it is so wonderful to be able to sit in the den, and watch it RAIN... when you dont have rain for a long long time and then you start to get rain, it is truly a wondrous gift from the heavens... so I sat watching it rain and thanked the rain gods for all that we got... it was glorious to say the least... and because I was so very relaxed, I picked up my distress pen and started to play with this tangle called Mi2... I have to say that I have done at least 8 of these this week... but this is my very favorite...  I love this tangle, because of my love of all the natural things that are growing all around us who need this water to live, I had to add them to my tangle...

The challenge this week, on I am a Diva, has been to use the Mi2 tangle to create with... I certainly have totally enjoyed this one... and that is why I have to say thanks for the challenge...

Thank you also to all who have left such wonderful, warm thoughts on my blog... I wish I could see what you all are creating...  but some day, hopefully I will be able to have a high speed internet connection... these two tin cans with a tattered string is getting the best of me... LOL...

Remember to conserve water, enjoy the rain, and tangle whenever and where ever you are...  Enjoy it all...

ooops... I had to amend this post... as I took this tangle a little bit more...  and added some shading...

And I couldn't stop there... so I picked up my Inktense pencils and added them... I used the pencil dry and here is what it looked like at the end of adding all the color...

Then I took my water brush and added some water... literally the same thing happened to these flowers and greens that happened after we had our rain...

We only got 6/10's of an inch... but hey... rain and water are sacred to the living things on this planet... isn't it???

The only mistake I did was that I created this on a piece of sketch paper... and not a piece of watercolor paper or even my favorite card stock!!! But that is okay... It is my favorite so far...  I love the look of this one...

Summertyme Bliss

Well today is a HOT day here... and it is perfect to lay low and TANLGE!!!  Oh YES it is... just a perfect Summertyme Bliss...  that is why I named this GREAT Zendala that Erin has designed for us to create with on Zendala #16... and yes Erin the blog world is very tight... and everyone does worry when you don't follow thru with the ordinary routines... only because every one is most likely like me... ADDICTED to doing these creative fun things... right???

So here is my Summertyme Bliss...

This took me a long time to upload, as it is larger than normal... but I wanted you to be able to click on it and see more...

I had a lot of fun with this one..
Thanks Erin...  I wanted to show all the lovely GREENS we have around us now... and the water that everyone loves... our water goes onto the veggie beds... to keep the plants from wilting... thus the long tubes of water...  The love of it all...  all that nature has to give us and keeps us alive.   Summertyme Bliss...

Thanks for taking a look and hope that you have a FUN filled week-end...  it is suppose to be a little bit cooler here... so I am looking forward to that greatly...  ENJOY each day of your life...

A journaling we will go!!!

Oh how much do I love to combine different things that I LOVE to do... like journaling and tangling!!!  Wow... what fun... I have always loved to doodle and now there is an art ...(LOL there always has been... just now it is recognized!! )  that has all kinds of fun things...  So since I had these pencils that were begging to be used.. and also a pen... I put them to work...  and had a lot of colorful fun...

I love certain colors... and blues, purples and a magenta always seem to please me... so that is what I grabbed and went to town....

When I started on this section of my journal the page on the right was already for something... but then I had to add some color...

But I had fun making the page on the left... that is for sure... I used my Inktense pencils and a waterbrush to create the brightly colored page... then the next step of fun started...

I love doing these different Zen tangle designs... they are fun and keep the brain going...  I wish I could remember them all, so that it would flow a little bit better...

BUT... I have only been doing this for a little under a month now...  (doodling for only 50 years... LOL... )   Anyway it is fun...

When I was doing these pages, I had to add some words as they were feelings and thoughts that were going thru my mind at the time...
Especially the one that says "LIFE IS THE SUM of ALL YOUR CHOICES !!!"   WOW how profound is that ...

Anyway... I think and doodle and create with color... and create my own paradise all around me...

Are you having fun this summer???

I have to tell you how much I love having you visit my blog...  I wish I was able to do the same in return...  hopefully some day I will be able to visit and will have all the fun seeing all the pretties that you all do!!!  Maybe I will have a high speed internet connection.. and my world will change....

Have a fun day... stay cool, and enjoy it all..

Me TOO.... is the challenge!!!!

Today is the 80th Challenge over at I am a DIVA ....  and the challenge is to create and learn how to use Mi2!!! WOW... that is a challenge... I have not done this one prior to today... so it was a little bit awkward... but hey... isn't that how we all learn...

So I did one... and then did a larger one...  it is so very graceful, but I still am learning how to use some of these things... and hope that the fluidness will come as time passes... LOL... maybe I have to scribble first!!!  Prior to picking up the pen... anyway... it is a lot of fun that is for sure..

I love doing the shading part of these ... it really makes them pop...  love it...

Hey... thanks for stopping by for a visit... and have a cool nice day!!!  See you soon... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

Writing Desk

OHHhhhhhhh the Challenge this week at Just Add Water... Artists Play Room is to do something with Pen, Paper and INK.... so I did it will all three two ways... I used a quill pen, paper and ink to create the drawing of paper, pen and ink...

The pens are from a collection of mine... (I love to collect collections of things ohhhhh... so many too... bad!!!  )

Anyway... The pen on the bottom is from my neighbor, Sande,  when she was in Italy... and it is Venetian Glass and has the prettiest glass bead by the tangled metal nib holder...  so very delicate...and the pen is lavender colored glass...  I love it... thanks again Sande...

Then the flower one is all silver and it is so very feminine and pretty..

The other one is my fathers...  from when he was a young boy...  While he was in high school he use to love to 'draw' Old English letters... he would take hours doing just one letter...  and he used this pen... it was the only artistic thing that I ever saw him do...  but he loved doing it...

The ink bottle... well that is another story...  a long time ago my hubby brought me home a bottle that he had found while excavating a old fence line... he found it with a huge bucket loader... and it didn't have a nick on it...  so very perfect... It was a beautiful color of Green glass... anyway... we were trying to sell things so that we could move,(as our home was filled with all kinds of antiques, collections of all types... (even a bird nest collection..and some even had old broken eggs in them...)

and I was selling everything...!!!!!

I wanted to get out of NJ      NOW....

and I sold it...

he was very upset; as it was not that large that I couldn't have tucked it into something...  BUT... I had so many of these small things tucked away, that there was no room to tuck away... without adding more bins to the process...!!!!  LOL... Anyway... it is gone.... but I do have pictures of it...

So this is my story...  and I use pens, paper and ink every day of my life... so it is truly part of my life in all ways...  Thanks Jeannette for the challenge... brought back quite a few memories...  good and not so happy... but memories..

Hope ya'll have a great day... and enjoy the summer weather.  Thanks for taking time to stop in for a visit...

Zendala #15 WOW!!!

Here I am again with another fun project for this GREAT challenge... This is Zendala #15 from Bright Owl...  what a fun challenge too...

I have been doing challenges for a while... all kinds.  And I have to say that they are not really challenges to me in so many ways...  but this IS... major challenging...  So today I decided that again I would have to play with this to see which tangles I would use...  so I copied the template, and then started to play with all the tangles...  So here is my final copy...  I wanted you to see the details... so I made a huge pixel picture for me.. I am on dial up... but I love this one so very much that I had to share it with you...  so I have taken the time to upload this one... I will show you below all the different ones that I thought would be good for this template... and then I chose to use these...  I love the way it came out...  I DO hope to make another one of these this week-end... but I never know what each day is going to bring...  LOL...

Some of these I have never done prior to this.. but I love them all...
This is my Trial Run one...

Each strip is uniquely different... I love the way that this one came out too..

I thought that maybe you would like to see all the ones that I did...

So here is the template divided in half...

Here is the top half of the circle...  I love all these and that is why I am sharing this with you...  there are so many great ways to use this template...  Thanks Erin for this one... I love it...

I felt that each one of these 'blocks' was a present... a gift wrapped box!!!  and I treated it as such...

I do hope that you can see these...  they are a little smaller, as I am getting tired... and 5 am comes around real quick!!!

Thanks for taking a look at these ... and also for stopping by for a visit...  Hope you have a fun time doing this one too....  and have a super fun day...

Journaling

If you don't have a BLOG... you are missing out on so many things... one is to share with the world what you are creating... I wish I had a faster speed so that I could see more of what you all are doing out there... but I do see it at different challenges... and even though they are small little pictures, I do get the general idea...

Today Julie Balzer has an interview she recently did with me... and so I welcome you to my blog is you are connecting from her site... I WELCOME you all here..  I do so hope you enjoy your visit here...

I have always loved creating all kinds of things with my hands since I was a little girl...  started at a very early age, making mud pies !!!  I am sure you made them too...  LOL.. what fun we use to have creating all those different kinds too....my friends and I had a very creative bakery with jelly donuts, eclairs, glazed donuts, pies, cakes and even brownies with nuts... (rocks!!! you have to be creative what you have on hand right???  LOL)   We even let them dry over night, so that we could wrap them up in a leaf and string  (bark pulled apart)  and let others buy them...  oh what fun kids have...

We have lost a lot of that fun.. BUT if you are journaling in your life, you can gain that FREEDOM back every time you open your journal....  it allows you total freedom from everyday things... and lets your spirit soar...  totally free to create what ever it is you desire...  some gals have journals that are personally theirs and only theirs... while others have journals that are to share 100% with others...

One of my favorite things to do, is to create my whole journal...  I love to use my Twinkling H2o's in so many ways... but just to create pretty papers is a love too..

(.Especially when I am up in the middle of night full of energy and can't sleep... I will grab my h20's and a spritzer and create as many papers as I possibly can in a given time... or until I find myself asleep with a brush in hand and a little H20 paint pot stuck on my forehead...)

so what do you do with all these papers...

MAKE YOUR OWN JOURNALS.... Yeah!!!

What fun... so these are some pages that I finished off with some Zen Tangling on them..  I am fairly new to Zen Tangling... but am not new to doodling...  have been doing that for EVER ... in fact you can find some of my books I have published with my doodles on the right side of this blog... if you click on the books, it will take you to my publisher, where you can purchase them all... cook books and also doodle books...  My Cook Books are truly a form of journaling in so many ways... I love to cook... and each day when I made something new, I would collage that recipe onto paper and that is how my books started... there are two of them and they are each filled with 100's of recipes...  Art work, all kinds of things...
Journals are a way of life...  if you don't have one, think about starting one... it is a good way to show YOU who you are... and also to look back on these wondrous books as the years go by.
********************************

Matter is never without Spirit and Spirit is never without Matter.... by Rudolf Steiner... as very brilliant  man...  we even garden by his way of thinking... which is bio dynamically  and following the ways of the elders prior to us...  so when I see something that I want to remember I Journal it... bringing my personal life into my journals.

****************************************************

The circles of life...  each one is so very special...  and will represent something in your daily living...

The colors, and the movement of the circles are so very interesting to me...

Each one being a little bit different and unique... just as we all are too...

*********************************

I wish I could post larger pictures for you to see the details in this...  so I will do a close up below... (I am on this thing called dial up... not by choice... but because that is all that is available to me now...  not fun... but a challenge in my life!!! )

Anyway... this was a very fun tangle for me... I am still learning all the different tangles, so I love to practice them...This paper was so very pretty that I really did enjoy working on this page...  a very relaxing time was had for the time I spent on this.
Each tangle has a name.. but I just enjoy doing them... that is the main thing....

Love making the chains to travel on  the page...
**************************

Oh yes... I have to let myself get a little wild now and then.. .LOL.... it is like washing your face...  make a mess... enjoy the flow of the paints, inks, sprays, just let it all happen on the paper...  I love some of these stencils.. and love over lapping them to get different effects... so that is what happened on the right page... the left page!!!  Well again I went a little nutsy with a leaf stamp that I made.. and then added a digital image from Pretties by Bonnie...

Well things have changed a little bit and here I am creating with all different kinds of things... Julie has just shown you this week all kinds of new and wonderful stencils that I personally can hardly wait to get my hands on to use and create with... As you can see, my journaling is something that I love dearly.  I try and do at least one page a day...

Above there are two of her stencils that I love... they leave a wonderful page... and these two pages are NOT finished yet... they might be sometime in the future... but for now I love to look at them... the colors on one page are so vibrant and then on the left so cool.. and relaxing...  You are the one that decides what is going to happen in this area...  just letting it go is the main thing...  playing with gusto...

************************************************

Dimension happens on my journal pages too... If I could figure out how, I would put all kinds of bulky things on my pages... but then I remember that I have to go to the next page...  and then the book becomes difficult to work in... so I try and it keep the pages a little flat... LOL... doesn't always happen...
To me.. putting down words allows me to reflect where I am (or was) on that particular day... I was enjoying just being me this day... and JUST BE HAPPY was my mantra for the day...  so another pretty flower from Pretties by Bonnie and my words...

A page doesn't have to have a lot going on to be finished... and besides no journal page is really ever finished...  I will add things onto pages that are over a few years old... no problem... it just needed that special little touch to be a little bit more fun...

***************************************************

I generally do two sides of each page in my book... waste not want not!!!  Type of thing... but that doesn't mean that every page is filled to the brim with art work... sometimes I actually like to leave it a little plain to just add a slight flair to the next page...  Also I felt like just STAMPING... so I did...  but then on the right side... a little wild again...  stencils, digital images cut out... tangling a little here and there...

Most likely I will add some kind of color to the leaf page.. but not now... I am enjoying it just the way it is NOW...

Here is the page all alone...

I love to use all different kinds of things on my pages too... inks, dabbers, markers, colored pencils, anything that strikes my fancy at that moment will work...

Don't forget that a lot of the backgrounds on these pages are papers that I have created just to have FUN... sometimes I add to that creation.. but sometimes they are actually left alone..

****************************************************

I love these leaves in this particular stencil that Julie has created... and I wanted to show case them...  so I just did them in GOLD metallic dabber...  how pretty is that... and then used a Black and white theme for create the tag, and leaves..

I wanted to create something elegant and simple...

******************************************************
Sometimes pages move along with  out being planned at all...
I wanted to try a method that I had seen somewhere, and so I blocked off the page with masking tape... I forgot to use my painters tape for this... and grabbed the first tape I came too...  Oh my goodness!!!  it was fun painting all the little areas and then when it dried I went to take off the tape and it tore a hole in the page!!!!  So I made the hole work for me... I put a face on the next page.. and allowed her to look thru it...
This was the page that she started out on... but then next level went to this... as it was a really great area to tangle on.. so it got the next layer of creating .... but that doesn't mean it is finished... I am sure it will get a few more layers onto it as soon as the inks dry...  LOL...
I think I will have to add some other things to this page... and will be right back...

A few hours later.... I had to play a little... make some paper, make some flowers, glue a little bit... and get away from the computer...  Breaks are necessary all day long...

Do you do any challenges at all with your journal pages... it is so very much fun to see what others have created and to share... I wish that I could leave comments at all the wonderful pages I have seen over the past years... but dial up is rather limiting to say the least...

Well I love to do challenges and here is one right now...
Art Journal Cafe... The gals over there are asking for us to use tissue paper on our pages... anyway that we choose to....

So I got out some good old white tissue paper and then got my dylusion sprays and made some really pretty papers to play with...  they are so much fun to decorate with.. as they have a really nice crispness to the paper and yet it does what ever you desire for it to do...

So I made a little ruffle and some flowers with leaves...

I had also added a braid with words on it... words of the moment... needed to be added to something and this was it...
So here is the ruffle... not real big... but a ruffle and a little trim over it with a 'bead' of tissue paper...
Then I took some of the turquoise, blue and purple tissue (all on one sheet... so very pretty...  )   and twisted it so that I could make some flowers.. used my green for the stems... and the leaves.

What dimension it adds to my page...
Love it.

***********************************
So with a journal page I guess you could say that mine EVOLVE greatly from day to day... when I want to do something to a page... I do it...  not a big deal... just do it.. and enjoy the entire process... at the end of a given year I love to look back at a journal that I no longer use and look at the differences I have created within myself... amazing... some good, and some just different.  I like them all... or I wouldn't be doing what I am doing.... LOL..

Hopefully you will check in for a visit from time to time... I love having you visit... and try to keep new things up everyday...  see you soon.. and thanks for stopping in today... Have  super creative and fun day that you totally enjoy ...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

A Fun day with tangles...

Did you   TANGLE   today????

Well, I have been telling you that I have become addicted and here is some of the proof… I love doing these little pieces of Art…  they are so very much fun.. all of these are 3x3 pieces…  smaller than normal but hey.. that is me…

LOL… out of the box... love the tiny ones...

Hope you enjoy these… as you can see there are some that are just the actual design… as they are the first ones of that particular one… and then I generally went on to do more… and more and more….(some of these are not perfect... they are first ones... and I have to share... so that others will realize that not all zen tangle art is perfect.. but it is all FUN...  Once I learn the particular technique, then I can add that to my portfolio and create it again and meditate on the 'perfection' end of it... or at least doing it better...

I have been having trouble with my computer, the weather… and of course the dial up… as when it rains the phone lines get wet…. (we are on a VERY old system… )  and then the dial up doesn’t work correctly at all… Trials and tribulations… that is all I can say…

I am trying to create different backgrounds also... and try all kinds of things...
Love this feather look... so I added the Fengal too... wow.. I had an easier time with this one.. and it is really tiny...
A paisley that I love... Love the large flower in it...

Okay... so I really got turned on by these paradox's... They are so much fun... I really thought it was going to be HARD... but oh my goodness... love them...  I could have kept on adding and adding more ... but I ran out of paper...
I call this one Smudging... a Native American ritual of cleansing... something that we do often here...  anyway.. I just had to add these things onto this one.. not really sure why... just going with the flow of things...

I had a few more... but my lovely dial up will not upload for some reason.. it is done for the day I guess.. LOL... machines do what they desire... and they have no brain???

Hey... thanks for stopping by... hope you have a tangle day... and create some fun...  see you real soon.. .Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
