Fancy and Fun....

This is one of those projects that started to be made a long time ago... and I would add things as they came to me...  the inside of the card started about 5 months ago... and the front of the card was done on Monday... to match a few challenges...

Which are:

The Shabby Tea Room   Color challenge with birds added

The Kraft Journal  Anything goes...

Craft Hoarders Anonymous   Flowers that are hoarded...

I have to tell you something also that is very special to me... I WON another challenge at the KRAFT JOURNAL... and also won a $15.oo gift shopping spree in their store... wonder feelings from this in all ways...  WHAT A GREAT HONOR... thank you all for the vote of love you have given to my work and play...  I cherish the feelings .

okay...

Now I know you are waiting to see this all.. and so here it is...

BIRDS and LACE

Front of the card
I was playing with my Tapestry stamps and made a wreath...  love these little peg stamps... as you can create so very much with them...  I added the wreath onto a background of stenciled goodness and fun using TH gothic stencil and textured paste... fun galore... and then colored some of it with a baby wipe!!!
Of course I love MS lace makers... my paper punches... and since my studio has all been organized again... I have all my dies and punches in one location... so it is so convenient to pull out what I need to play with to create fun and a mess in my studio... all over the place.

Do you see the little bird tucked into the next among the flowers... she is resting... and having a litter of babies..

The flowers were made from colored coffee filters... and the leaves a drew, cut out and added liquid pearl (gold) as accents on the leaves...

You can see the tapestry stamping a little clearer on this picture...  each leaf and cluster is a separate stamp... so this is a lot of stamping...  and a lot of fun to me...

Moving back a little...

Getting ready to open the card up.......

The inside of the card...

Each section I will talk about below...

Starting at the back.. a paper with MS lace all around the edges, then a layer of Anna Griffin paper... and then a section that creates the folds in this card...  and I made it into a pocket...

Swiss dotted (embossed paper) on the front of the pocket...
Snails, and little fairy on a mushroom...

The tag... with a vintage rose clip art fussy cutted...

Tea Bag folding.. I love tea bag folding... and this is called the Celtic Knot... a little wreath with some tissue paper flowers...

Ahhhh the big old fluffy bird with a fairy riding on her back...  I love this vintage clip art... so very fun and wish I was a fairy at times and could jump on a birds back for a nice breezy ride around the country side... wouldn't you like to do that too???
WHAT FUN would that be??

The last section is a fairy named Luna moth... she is so beautiful... I had to use her here...

Another very special fold...  and so very small ... I really had to work at this folded flower...

There she is in all her glory...

Well there you have it... my card of love

Love of PINK
Love of BIRDS.
Love of FAIRIES
Love of LACE
LOVE!

Hope you have something to create that you LOVE ...  I certainly have LOVED making this card and also sharing it with ya'll...

Hope you have a fun day... and enjoy creating something special... Thanks for stopping by for a visit...

Summer Time Card

I really didn't know what to do... I had miss read this challenge... had the finished project in my hands... and thought oh no... I thought it was for any type of creation.. and then I see it is for a CARD...  oh duh???

So back to the drawing board as they say... LOL...

So here is what I created...

The theme for Mixed Media CARD challenge  is SUMMER and you can use burlap as an option... which I chose not to use...

I love making envelopes... among a few million other things...LOL.. .but I really love to make unique envelopes... this green one is made from wall paper... from an old book and I tore it up and made over 30 envelopes... fully lined ones... LOVE them.. the post master doesn't... but hey... he still mails them...

I also love to make smaller ones... like the pink one above... it measures about 4.5 X 6 inches... and I totally decorate it... as it goes into the larger envelope to get mailed or given to the person.

As you can see, I totally embellish them... this one is made from paper that I have made using tim's method of putting ink onto my work sheet and then spritzing with water and then running the paper thru it... LOVE doing that...

Then cutting out the envelope and decorating it...  I used a double rosette on this one... again with paper that I made with inks...  same as above..

A little bit closer... as I really love how delicate it looks... with the butterfly doily behind it... (spellbinders die)

Do you ever try to make something and it doesn't come out right... well this piece of paper ended up into my pile of papers to use at 'sometime or other'
and so I pulled it out to use for this card... I really liked it... just that it wasn't right for the project I was doing it for the 1st time... LOL..

So I folded it in half...  and cut out this cute little fairy scene with the snail... so cute... love this little one..

This is the back of the paper... and it was made with a stencil(? ) and some distress inks... much more than that... I can't remember right now... one of the bad things about making paper a while ago...

When you open the card this is what you see...  I will take you slowly thru this whole area...

The center of the card is done with some Tea Bag folds...  and put together in a certain way, so that it folds each time... back the way it was...  as you can see... you can see under it...

It is loaded with fairies... this little one is riding on the back of a blue bird...

And this little one is talking to a frog (Graphic 45)

Pink butterflies are flying all over the card... and stenciling is all over it too... when I am playing you never know what is going to happen...

Each little area has a little saying... and meant with much love...

it is a whole visual scene when this card is opened...

this card... goes into the envelope that goes into the larger envelope to get mailed... wow... did you get all that??? You are good...

Thanks for stopping by today... and I do hope you enjoyed this fun project... I know that I did... and it is going out to a friend that needs a lot of love right now...

Hope you have a super good day...

50th Anniversary Card

I wanted to make a very special card for a friend... so I put on my thinking cap... and low and behold came up with the perfect card...

She always is eating pears... and they have been married for 50 years in June...  so those were the two determining factors for this card...

LOL... have you ever seen SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED???  Well I just so happen to have had the pear patterns... and I made one... it only takes a FEW hours...

and then I created a medallion, 3 layers thick and put that on the front... since this friend is also learning Tea Bag Folding...

And she just so happens to LOVE blue and white with yellow...

so before I go on and on... here is the front of the card

Here is the front... blue and white on yellow...
With butterflies...

some of her favorites...

Did I mention that she also loves BLING... and so I put 50 gem stones on this card...  count them...

Now he is an engineer... so he will appreciate the pear...

When you open the card, the pear is really on its side...  but I did make a special little card to write a message into it...

And on the pocket...
WHAT A PAIR!!!

This is a picture of the pear standing up... which it does when the card it opened fully and laying flat...  so neat... love these designs...

Well Barb and Bill.... Happy Anniversary to you both with many more years to come... hope that you enjoy each and every one of them...

Thank You for stopping by for a visit... and hope that you have enjoyed this post...  I really appreciate your visits... please come back soon...

Have a very enjoyable day... and see you tomorrow...

Medallions ready to GOOOOooooooo!!!!!!

Another thing I LOVE to do is to make medallions up, ready to adhere to any number of things… like a box, gift bag, or card…  I again use my time when I feel like doing nothing else but making medallions to make them… as many as I can.. .with tiles printed up and ready to use…

You see, I feel like I save time doing things this way… maybe I do… and maybe I don’t… but one thing is for sure… I LOVE MAKING things and playing and having fun… LOL… that is the most important part of my life…  other than my sweet hubby, Glenn…

Okay… so here are a few examples…  I do have a bin filled with them… so they are easy to add to a needed project quick and EASY…

Thanks for stopping by today.. and see you soon…

More Yellow FLOWERS...

Daisies from Short Hills NJ… use to drive thru thee every morning on my way to work at the Psych hospital…  pretty area of NJ back then… suppose it is a lot like city now…  malls and roads…

Oh well… life does go on…  this is the same picture that I used yesterday… only this is the way the original vintage picture looked…  I thought it was like a seed packet front… so I made a little envelope to represent this… and then used a fun background… long story short as I can make it…

I love the cherry Lynn dies.. but have never been able to use them successfully… so since I now have high speed service… I googled them and found out what I was doing wrong… so I grabbed my dies and started to play with them… and within a few minutes I heard this LOUD POW!!!!!  My Big shot had popped it’s cork…  not kidding…  I had broken it… I was heart broken…  ( I still had my cuddlebug, but that is not as strong as the Big Shot)   anyway.. I finally put the dies away and will not be using them again…  (by the way… I was able to get parts for my BIG SHOT… by calling Ellison and talking with this really wonderful person named Lisa  …. Got all the new parts for the machine… for a grand total of only $21.00… wow… LOVE It….  Still will not be using the Cherry Lynn dies…  LOL… not worth it…

Anyway… I did cut a couple of  these out.. and used this one for the background… I filled in the daisies with some Liquid Pearl by Ranger… Even though you can’t see it all… they are all filled in…

The ruffles and daisies on the bottom… just frills for a pretty card…

Love this one so very much… it will have to go into my keeping bin… other cards I do sell.. so if you are interested, just write to me at bonniemclain626@gmail.com  I will quote you the price and get it into the mail for you if you wish to purchase it…

Hope you have a fun filled day of playing with your paper, scissors, glue and toys…  I am going to play some this afternoon… can hardly wait…

Thanks for stopping by for a visit… and I hope to see you back here tomorrow…

Yellow Flowers

Yellow Flowers with Butterfly was a card that I made for a Tea Bag Class… this new medallion is one from Tiny Van Plaas’s newest book… love it…

I used a Martha Stewart corner/border punch that is a deep one… so that it would fit onto this 6x6 card…  I found this pretty yellow flower print on Pinterest… and so I printed it a few times to use as a back ground for a few cards…. This one I cut the flowers out.. and then put them onto a Spellbinder background which I had used my new little mini Distress ink Cubes along with the round blending tool…  which makes a huge difference.  You get no rough edges… love it..

The rest…  well you understand it all… if not, please feel free to write to me… I will give you more details…

Hope you have a wonderful day… and create something that is pretty and fun…

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and I will see you tomorrow with another card using the same flowers… done a little bit differently…

Violettes

Violettes….

A special background paper…  I made it from white cardstock with a few colors from Distress Stains, Viva Gold, water, and of course some specially mixed up inks that I love to use…  (I use a little bit of this color… and a little bit of another color… some perfect pearls, and now I have a very special ink… that is all mine..  )

I cut out a corner/border background… but this time, I added another corner punching to the inside piece… love it…  gives it a more lacey look… what do you think???

A little label from a vintage bottle… and them this wonderful medallion… as you can see I highlighted the medallion with the Viva gold too… love that stuff… put some on your finger and it goes any place you desire…  wow… add a little water and it mixes with your inks, paints and papers… what a great thing… and it comes in a lot of colors…

Hope you are enjoying the weather…  should be a nice week-end here…  hoping to play a lot tomorrow… and also will be doing the Compendium of curiosities 3 challenge…  if you are interested in parting of this challenge please join in… there are all kinds of prizes from Tim Holtz and Mario… along with two great sponsors…  what fun…  the challenges are all coming from Tim’s newest book… another fun thing to learn from… hope to see you tomorrow…  and thanks so very much for stopping in today…

Using clip art

Using clip ART in my mind has to be added so that it is pretty... not that it has to be noticed or forgotten about.. just used in a proper way...

You might not even see the clip art on this card... until you really look at it for a while...  your eye is not drawn to it...  it is part of the over all card...  you most likely see the ribbon and bow first off... because of the color of it...

when you look a little bit more you see the medallion and lastly the clip art around the bow and medallion...  soft and pretty...

Opposite with this one...  BOLD... the Clip art stands out...

Are you getting the idea of clip art... you can use it, in so many different ways... your choice of course...  just fun...

Some layered punching and then the clip art wrapping around... love that kind of thing with clip art... you can make it MOVE around anything by cutting it out..

So here are a few examples... hope you will try it and also share...
Please if you ever have any questions, I will certainly try to answer them for you...

Have a wonderful day and thanks so very much for stopping by...

Making Medallions

I wanted to share a few more cards with you...  soooooo  here they are...

Since I happen to love tea bag folding I decided to create a whole edge with folded tiles...  there are double around this oval shaped card stock...  and then I found the most perfect rose and butterfly to coordinate with it..  LOVE IT...

Most of the time with tea bag folding you try and make the card as simple as possible... to draw the attention to the medallion.. and also to just enjoy the simplicity of the card...  I also love to make many layers on each card... a little conflicting at times... but I always seem to win!!!  I love this type of card, as I can do both... easy and also many layers...  this is the simple one...

**********************

And this one is a little more complicated... as it has a medallion in the center section too...

Very easy card fold... just make a normal card and then fold the front back to the center again...  easy and then you have three areas you can decorate.. love areas...

A really pretty card in so many ways... of course what hand made card isn't pretty???  I personally haven't seen too many that I don't think are really special...  just because someone has taken their time... part of their life to create something to give to someone else... that is a gift in itself...  enjoy handmade gifts of all kinds..

The pictures of this card came out very dark... ??? not really sure why... but the background on this card is wall paper... YES Sheila, I used some of the wall paper that you so graciously shared with me... I love it all... hope you know that...

This medallion is also a relative new medallion to me... and I have to say that I do love it..  looks like layers upon layers... love it ...

Well another day.. another medallion... another Card... another creation... what are you up to today???

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and hope to see you  again soon... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie
