I don't throw much away... I give a lot of things I don't want, need or like away... but to throw something out... very rarely...so the other day I wanted to chill out... jet my mojo going into high speed... and so I did what I always do... create papers... well these both went into the some other time pile... meaning that they were NOT GOOD... I didn't like them at all... they were not what I was looking for at that time...
For some reason.. .they ended up on my work table... FUNNY how that kind of thing happens at times... so I was cleaning up my work table today... as I had a project that I actually needed the whole table for... you will see it tomorrow...
And these two pieces of paper that I had put in the NOT GOOD pile came together ... and I loved them together... they were just a perfect card for Simon Monday... STAMPTEMBER.... I did something already... but needed to do something else... and this was it...
Okay... here they are... totally different look for me... but I love it...
Well what do you think... yea or nay???
My first piece of paper was the background... and it was a piece of kraft paper...
........and I had stenciled on it trying to match up the design.. .
......and had messed it up... ..
.....So I tried hiding it with some copper inka gold... t
.....that didn't work either...
.......so I picked up my texture paste and tried that on top...
......and it picked up the blue...
LOL...
oh well..
NOT GOOD...
Oh well what is a gal suppose to do... try something else... right???
So I had picked out some of favorite fall stamps... and two of there were Fred Mullets... I love his stamps... so very real and GREAT...
I wanted to do a relief... so grabbed my embossing pad... and the stamp had not been cleaned... guilty as charged... I hardly ever clean a stamp...
So when I stamped it onto white paper... it was this really pretty shade of a light teal...
so I went with it...
Too FAINT... not going to work...
Then I picked up the teasel stamp... and brown archival ink... and stamped on top of it... just to see the teasel stamp...
NOT GOOD..
But I knew that before I even did that... put it into the pile... of NOT GOOD
So that is how these two came together...
I tore the teasel and rosemary paper... and then edged it with some distress ink... and the other... just cut out the section I loved...
put them together... and made the tag ...
LIFE IS A JOURNEY.....
Not a DESTINATION....
So appropriate don't you think... ???
So I think I took 2 mistakes and made something that at least I like... whether it is GREAT??/ is questionable... but I do like it... and the colors are right where I love them today...
The whole card... with a piece of cheese cloth as ribbon... LOL...
The textured paste and the background...
Thanks so very much for stopping by for a visit today... I really appreciate your visits... hope you will also go over to Simon and see all the pretties there...
I also really appreciate all the comments you have been leaving me... I cherish each and every one of them... thanks a million y'all.... (That's southern for you ALL... )
Have a great time today... and create something wonderful for someone special... that also includes YOU...
Today is not Sunday here... but it is in the UK... and Hels Challenge for Sunday is GREEN.... yikes... what fun...
So here it is.. Sunday Stamper on Saturday night... love it...
Make sure you click on the picture to enlarge it... there is a lot of things to see...
anyway... this is the whole panel... it is about 6 X 12... and I used alcohol inks on this special paper from Ranger... it is yummy... feels like soft butter and takes the alcohol ink really nicely... I used two of the new colors... Teakwood and mermaid... what fun... and a lot of solvent...
I will tell you all about each section... as there is a lot here... I used a Tim stamp for the background of this... and this stamp is really hard for me to use... but this time I put a nice big chunk of foam rubber under it... and it came out wonderfully clear... love it...
I tore the edges and then used distress inks on the edges... one color... was GREEN.... the other a turquoise... love it..
The Fish... it is a Fred Mullet fish... and I embossed it and then painted it... Fred Mullet style... it glimmers too... really a pretty fish.. GREEN TWINKLING H20 PAINTS... among other colors too...
I love putting this eye in funny places... places where it really doesn't belong... with a butterfly and some ginko leaves popping out from under the layers of paper... GREEN GINKO LEAVES....
Funny I also used Wendy V Stamp... I had this sitting on my work table... and had hopes that it would fit into your Challenge Hels... some things just happen the way they are suppose to... LOL...
I made the face a long time ago with air drying clay... and surrounded the face with flowers and GREEN LEAVES... I will tell you more about them later...
Can you see the other woman here??? Dyan stencil... love her... she is fun to use and I also over stenciled that area too... what fun is that...
A GREEN FOIL BUTTERFLY... and also an antique shoe buckle... (My mother in laws shoe buckle...)
Okay... now look at these flowers carefully... they are made from FELT... FELT that I used to put alcohol onto paper and things... I save them all... LOL... nothing cheap about me... if I can use something I will store it... I pulled out a few of the blue/turquoise pads and cut out some flowers from them... a little sheet will make 2 flowers and/or 4 leaves...
Just some more closeups of the flowers and butterflies... I had fun with this sheet... and Thanks Hels for all that you give to the art community... you are special...
Hope you all have a wonderful day... no matter what day it is... and that you create something fun...
I am ready for bed... it has been a very long day... a class... company and now a challenge... yikes... makes me tired just to think of all I have done... but it has been a fun day...
Spring is a wonderful time of the year... in fact one of my very favorite of the entire year... I love all the pretty colors of the season and the FLOWERS... well if you know anything about me... you know I LOVE FLOWERS of all kinds.. . In fact as I am writing this I am looking out my office window and see about 15 azaleas bushes... but the one closest to the window is going to have be cut back... as it is starting to cover the window... it is all white... and next to it the prettiest fuchsia and then a pale pink and deeper pink... and a lilac and a few more whites... so very pretty... Spring is also a time of when our gardens all are starting to produce heavy amounts of produce... that we totally enjoy.... Asparagus is one... there is a family story about asparagus too... we lived in NJ bringing up our children for 3o years... (or so) and we kept on trying to sell the house and move... we wanted out of NJ so bad... we lived in the section that was very pretty.. up in the north western section of NJ... but still we just wanted to move out .... but every year when spring came we wished we had asparagus.. but we didn't plant them, because we were going to MOVE... of course we finally did... and when we bought the farm we said we would plant asparagus here... and we finally DID... and so we are loving them... we have been totally spoiled by the amount we get each year... they are delicious and so very good... soups, sautees, raw, pestos, dips, you name it... we have had asparagus in it... we love them anyway at all... so when this tag of TIM's was spring oriented, I thought I had better do the asparagus theme... vs the bird... I love birds and will do one with a bird after tomorrow... as I will be getting my new Branch die cut then... YEAH!!! Along with my Distress Markers... YEAH YEAH YEAH... I can hardly wait to use them...
If you haven't checked out Tim's site recently he is doing a tag on the first of every month... so why not join in on the fun... learn something new and enjoy... This month it is all about embossing, stamping, and using layers of inks and die cuts... and boy did I have fun...
This tag is also to help us keep CROWS our of the garden this year... last year they attacked out watermelons... and that was not a good thing at all..
So this is the warning...
Live the life you've imagined... and stay out of our garden... that is the message to the crows... otherwise.. there will be a change in your life... Thanks... Hopefully they will understand the intent there... we are doing a lot of things to help keep them out... but they don't seem to care... they are hungry too... but they ruin the whole patch in one day... taking a bite out of every one of the things... not eating until full... just plundering the entire patch of what ever it is they desire...
Well... grab some toys... and start to play with making a tag... check out Tim's site and join in... see you later... and thanks for stopping by for a visit... hope you have time to check out my new kits for sale... it is a fun way to learn and with the price of gas ... a good way to save too... Lets not forget to keep the stores in business... and stop in there to buy our supplies... learn in the comfort of your home for the entire year... in your space...
Have a super nice day... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie
My Paper Doll Friend Mary Marsh, asked me to make a card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge... so I told her that I didn't have any of their beautiful stamps... so Mary stamped some, and mailed them to me... what a wonderful friend... So since she sent me two I had to make two CARDS... So here they are... The one up above is all layers of papers.. to represent the look of the person that loves birds and watches them... they always seem to have important papers around... on pictures of birds are on the top of the pile... Thus the Hinge, button, roses, and Mica... all to represent 'clutter' on the table... and the bird picture on the top... Interesting fact... Purple Finches were very popular during the depression, because it was very inexpensive to buy a finch and a cage to amuse you and make you feel happier... so a lot of people bought them... only to let them loose after the depression ended... thus all the purple 'house' finches...
Now this one is a little more formal card... The back ground was made with a resist technique... Using a Champagne Versa Mark, I stamped Thistle all over a sheet of glossy paper... then I used Inks by Ranger with a brayer and created my background paper
Spellbinder were used to create all the shapes... The Bird was colored with Twinkling H20's...This gold finch(also a Male) is really happy being so near the thistle... they love it... their favorite food... The paper that covers the front of the card is from K & Company... Hope that you enjoy these cards... and thanks again Mary for going to all the trouble you did so I could join in the Challenge... I certainly did enjoy it.. Have a super nice day... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
Every Friday, there is a challenge on SCS called Queen for the Day... and it had a slight twist to it this week... and boy was it ever fun.. WE had to case a card from a particular gal and then also tell a story... Well this week the Queen that was chosen was someone called ConnieJo9... she and her sister are two of the funniest, fun loving sweetest people that are on SCS... They are both creative and go back and forth between each other in their creations also... which is a pleasure to see and enjoy.. So this week... Connie Jo was cased... (casing is where you see a card that the person has created and make a few changes... and create your own from it.... ) So the Card I saw was three chickens, one on top of the other... and the story I wrote was a very sweet story about our son... and it goes like this...
Cowboy Small…
Oh yes… every child has to have a fish or two in their lives… right…
Well one day I broke down and bought the proverbial 25 cent goldfish that ended up costing me over $15.00… bowls, cute little house for the fish to live in… etc etc… and food for a year or two.. it was cheaper by the larger container.. .etc. etc…
Came home and instructed the kidsto feed the fish only ONCE a day.. in the morning when they got up… that was it… other wise they could look at it all that they wanted to.. enjoy it etc…
Both named their fish.. .and I can’t remember what our daughter named her’s but our son’s was called Cowboy Small… as that was his favorite golden book… I am very surprised that I can not remember that story to this day… I read it every night for years…oh well the fish was Cowboy Small..
The next morning I thought I had better see if the bowls needed to be cleaned… they were very small bowls… etc… so I looked and Cowboy Small was floating upside down on about ½ inch of food.. .so I guess he died of no air… I explained to my son what happened and told him that we had to bury Cowboy Small… I always took extra time to explain things to the kids… if I had to do it all over I might not… anyway… I grabbed a spoon and we dug the grave for Cowboy Small.. and put him into it and said a prayer.. (Now I Lay me… prayer… )and put the soil over the fish…
There were no tears or anything .. and we walked inside… and the kids ran to play… nothing more was said!! That was so easy…
In a few minutes I went to see what the kids were doing and the fish (Cowboy Small) was back in his bowl????? Oh my goodness I am loosing my mind… !!!I asked the kids how the fish got back into the bowl… and our son said…
Cowboy Small didn’t like it out there… he really wanted to be in here with me…
I waited a few years… prior to buying more fish… and when I did my son’s fish which cost only 25 cents again… grew to be over 5 inches long… and he was over 10 years old when he finally died… he also started out as a Cowboy Small… but his name was changed to Jaws… as he only wanted to eat raw chopped beef… picky fish…
And this is not a fish story… it is the truth…Honest injun..
So now you see how the challenge worked... some of the stories and going ons are so very funny... If you want to see them all... go here.
I hope that you have enjoyed this entry... I have enjoyed sharing it with you... and hope that you have a wonderful day... and a fantastic week-end...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... come on back real soon...
I am working on some fun things... I just can't share them with you right now.. but you will see them all real soon...
Good Morning... or maybe I should say GOOD AFTERNOON.... we slept in late today.. it was raining... and no use getting up that early when you can sleep in... we really need the rain on the gardens... so this is really delightful in all ways.. the extra sleep and also the rain...
So I had a late start today... and really took my time on top of that to really enjoy playing with these the making of these cards... I even cleaned out a couple of drawers with stamps as they tend to get a little messy with me always going to the bottom to see what is hiding... so I have all my beach and shells drawers nice and organized for a few hours...
Todays story on Tea Pot Tuesday was about a possible ship wreck.. so I created a story about Carl the crab that was waiting to see if the ship was going to go down.. or not.. if it did he would have a new home, and also maybe a nice free meal.. if not, he just might be the meal for the tea party gals... Oh No..what would be better than crab sushi??? WOW delicious... you dont' have to eat crab raw... in fact I would make a nice crab salad and add a lot of nice fresh veggies in the sushi roll... yummmm ... I also used the colors for the Color challenge on this card... as the colors were really beach like for it.. I used an embossing folder from the Asian collection by Cuddlebug... and also stamps from Impression Obsession and Fred Mullet and a few others that I am not sure where they came from... you see about two years ago I was running out of room for not only my rubber stamps, but also for me to work in the studio.. .so I took all the wood off my stamps... and I love it.. .best thing I ever did... I use to have 10 drawers of flower stamps... now I only have 2!!!! Huge difference.. and I also can find my stamps easier.. I have used all kinds of things to store the stamps in or on.. and I like them all.. one is not better than the other... just different... so unless I know the line of stamps from a particular company... I really can't tell you where the stamp came from... so very sorry... but that is the way it is..
The color challenge that Betty created was really delightful... I don't have the color Razzleberry... but I thought it was a sort of reddish color.. .and I think it is more bright than a dull reddish color.. .anyway, I used this really pretty piece of reddish colored paper... and then started to have fun iwth this one too..
I wanted to use another embossing folder that was new.. I had used one yesterday on my card.. and this one is called Patchwork... by Tim Holtz and they come two in a package... I embossed the paper.. then used some distressing inks to color it lightly... and then added a row of punching by Martha Stewart... and then of course my focal point... I spritzed some paper... and then embossed the flowers.. once using copper and then the black.. cut it out with the octagon template by spellbinder... and then of course a scalloped edge too.. Now the dragonfly... a gold outline sticker... that is put onto copper mesh and then cut out.. I love these as embellishments... they are so special looking... I did heat the copper mesh to give it different colors and textures..
Hope that you have a wonderful day... enjoy it all day... and in everything you do, think of how special YOU are ... in all ways..
Here I am in the Jungles for this foreign country… and I am not even sure really where I am… and I am looking for these really rare flowers… and I finally found some… they are really really reallyx 42,000 times RARE…and I have found hundreds of them… and low and behold there I was standing in front of this tree… which also was very rare… and there was a knot hole in it.. and I started to pick these rare flowers… and all of a sudden all these bats came flying out of the hole!!!!!
Oh My goodness … what do I do NOW!!!!!
So here I am standing in this jungle… in this foreign country… and I have a basket full of these really really really X 42,000 times rare flowers… and these bats start to fly out… getting tangled in my hair, and clothes… and all of a sudden.. I see this one little bat in the hole peeking out … and he starts to talk and says to me that he wants to go meet BAT MAN with me…. !!!! So I tell him sure… come on and hide under these flowers and I will take you to the party…
OH MY GOODNESS…. What do I do NOW!!!!
Here I am in this foreign country, with a basket full of really really really X 42,000 time rare flowers… with a funny bat that wants to go meet BATMAN… that talks like a human… and I see the customs men coming at me… and they want to know what I have in the basket… I tell them that I made them, and if they look at them, they will turn into bats… and I show them the little bat that is on the bottom of the basket… and tell them that this is the last person that looked at the flowers… so they take off running, I get on the plane… and I start to see the cave where we are having the party… and all of a sudden I realize that the bat has eaten all the flowers…
So Now… Oh My Goodness… what do I do..
Oh well.. I have a picture of the flowers… and this silly little one hanging out of the hole… but no flowers…
I did bring some bat cookies… for Batman and Robin… and also some tea cakes for the fuddy duddy ladies… and Oh I have some delicious rose hip tea… really nice… and for the rest of us.. some Melon Mango cookies… with some soft suede biscuits… yummmm they are so delicious… they are dipped into chocolate and then packaged in wood to protect them from low flying things… and I will use the wood as a platter to serve them on..
Hope you enjoy this funny card… it is for two challenges… one of course being Mudder Marks Tea Pot Tuesday… and the other being the color challenge… which today Betty asked us to use Melon Mango and soft suede… and to use the grain of wood as dessert!!!!
Most of the time these types of card can not be used to send… but this one will be.. so if you want to see how, go down and read the post note...
Thanks for taking a look… and have a wonderful day…
Love, Light and Peace…..Bonnie
POST NOTE :
Oh Ardie… do you remember the day that we were taking care of Chip and he ended up hanging in the tree… Oh my goodness… what do we do now???
About 10 years ago… we were staying at this very special Equestrian Farm… 433 acres of beautiful mountain side… with great views and lovely energy… with the exception of some of the people that were there… anyway.. the woman that owned the ‘farm’ was allowing us to park our trailer there, and rest our horse at her farm in trade for a little help now and then… so one week she asked us if we would take care of her PAMPERED miniature Doberman… ??? He was so very pampered that she fed him three times a day… and it was always human foods and extra vitamins were given at each meal etc… totally pampered… he wore a coat most of the time during the winter months.. and the coat cost more than mine did… it even had pockets on his coat!!!!Also the owner was very very attached to this dog… she felt as if it was a child to her… she had a daughter… but this little one was really special…totally totally PAMPERED!!!!Do you get the total picture… ???Well this poor little pup had never run free… he was always on a leash… and never allowed to really be a dog… so while we were taking care of him… we let him off the leash all the time.. and he was a good dog… he listened to my husband 99% of the time.. Well during this time we went up to the top of one of these beautiful mountains for a short ride… just something to do… other than looking for land or a place to live.. we took a nice picnic lunch.. and Chip… the dog… and off we went… we stopped on the top… and started to get out… and all of a sudden Chip ran out of the car… and ran over to the side of the side of the mountain … and FELL off…
Oh my Goodness what do we do NOW..????
Well… Glenn being the outdoors person that he is… went back to the truck and got a rope… and started to repel down the side of the mountain.. .and there was Chip… hanging upside down… on a tree limb… his coat had protected him… and that is what caught on the tree limb!!!!Glenn grabbed him… put his leash on him… and we went home… the heck with eating a picnic lunch!!!!
Oh My Goodness we knew what to do NOW… and that was to keep Chip on his leash…
The funniest part of this whole story… is that one of the gals that was the accountant there… who got stuck taking care of Chip during the work day… is a friend of ours… and one day she came over to our house.. and told us that she was now the owner of Chip… and I said to her… how come… and she said that the owner sold the farm.. and moved to NM and didn’t want to take the dog… so now she has Chip… and Chip is a barn dog on her farm!!!!What a silly thing for Chip to be.. from a pampered dog to a dog that is out side yearround.. and living like a dog… Funny isn’t it… you just never know…
Hope that you have enjoyed this whole story…
So this card will be going to Ardie… she deserves it… she totally understands the story… as we told her all about it the day we got back to the farm… so very funny… we still all get a huge laugh out of it…
This month I have so many Birthday cards to make... that I have been looking for different ways to create... and also some new things to do... so I have finally hit my stash of prints that friends have sent to me... so you will see a few of those in this selection today.. .I hope that you will enjoy all that I have to upload.. this is the first of 10 cards... so wait until I finish... then you will see how I am almost done with all my BIRTHDAY cards for MAY... YEAH!!!! I have enjoyed making each and everyone of them though... and have tried to do each one differently..
The one on the left is for a friend that like me... LOVES horses...has a few and loves them more than the next.... so this is for her... I have five layers of paper.. but the light 'orange' one is also a glossy sheet of paper that the resist technique was used on... I used a Fred Mullet Stamp of a fern to resist... and then Ranger re-inkers... lovely and easy technique that is really quite elegant in a card all by its self.... then the three Nesties... and the Martha lace underneath it... Up the left side of the card, I add some tea bag folding... of which you will see more of that in another post today... as I have gotten back into putting some of these GREAT creations onto my cards... I have 100's of medallions that I would love to use... and millions of tea bags that I NEED to use too... so beware... you will be seeing them often now... The black pearls were added as accents... and I have to say that she is going to love this card... Now this card is also a special card... the saying... is os precious... Thanks Brenda... It says... "There's a rip and a tear in my Teddy Bear and the LOVE pours our from him everywhere.." How precious is that??? I love it... Anyway... I used K and Company papers on this card.. and to tie in the paper with the rest of the card, I added some silk flowers... for the stop and also to just tie it all in... I used my Twinkling H2O's to color this stamp and also accents were made with Liquid Pearls by Ranger.
I love this card... it is so very feminine and pretty... That paper is really more pinks than anything... but the pink ribbon I had didn't look as nice as the peach... so it has a nice peach bow.. with pink flowers... the funny part is ... it all matches..
Have a wonderful day... and enjoy every minute of the after glow of Mother's Day... Thanks for stopping by for a visit and take a minute to leave a comment... and thanks for all you do... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie
I love asparagus... I have a story I have to tell you about asparagus... Because I love asparagus, I wanted to plant them in the garden when we lived in NJ... and every spring I would say that I was going to buy some crowns and plant them... but it takes two years after planting them to pick any... and we were always going to move... so after 30 years of hearing that... I got tired of saying it.. and we never had our own asparagus!!!!
So when we moved here to NC... and we had an organic farm... I really wanted ASPARAGUS!!!! And so three days ago we started to pick our own asparagus from our own gardens.... YEAH!!!! THEY are delicious too... WE have lots of them too... enough to satisfy my 40 year desire for them...
Anyway... I wanted to share that story with you, as you will see that I am using a lot of asparagus stamping in some of my projects now... and you might wonder why... and it is only that I am one happy person eating all the organic asparagus I can... LOL... love them.
I am putting this card here... as a sample of the other ones below and my happy day with my friend Mary... read below...
HOpe you enjoy this fun technique... this one I did use a stamp with... into the white opaque ink by copic... but the ones below are all with the pinkie... have fun...
One of the gals in the Book group called Pearly Girls… created a book for recipes to be put into… So… I gave her some… in fact 8 recipes…
I wanted to show her some of the recipes that were in my cook book… as she is allergic to wheat… which I do use in my cook book… but the wheat can be substituted for other grains like rice and flax… which most people are not allergic to… also I wanted to introduce her to a new grain… Quinoa… which is really a very ancient grain… but most people are not aware of it.. and it is delicious and quick cooking… and very nutritious for you in so many ways.. .unlike wheat… which does very little other to clog up our plumbing… LOL.. .not funny but true..
So I started off with creating the back ground papers… I did a technique called ghost stamping… which is really very easy… gives a very unique look to the page though…
#1.You start off Glossy paper… and with a resist ink pad and stamp a stamp all over ….
#2.Then using a dye ink and brayer you cover the sheet with the ink and then allow it to dry for a few minutes… and then rub it off… all the ink that is… You will have a two tone paper at this point… white (which is the where you stamped) and the background which is the color ink or inks you chose to use… ( the stamp I chose to use was sage leaves by Fred Mullet)
#3.Then with Platinum Brillance, you stamp another design all over your paper…. (I used a pear)
#4.Then the final layer… you choose another stamp… this time I chose the asparagus stamp by Fred Mullet… and used a Archival Dye ink pad (Olive) to stamp all over again…This is now a completed Ghost stamped paper… and can be used for anything… Love this technique for many different things…
Okay… now I had to start to build the page up.. and I wanted to create the two cook books, so I copied the real covers of both books I published… (You can buy the original books by clicking on the book site over on the right hand side of the blog… and it will take you right to my publisher… Lulu. Com and you can purchase these books… each page in these cook books is collaged… and a lot of really great recipes that I love to use for all occasions…)
So I decided to put the books in a basket… is that a great way to carry food.. or anything that is special..???So I had this great basket stamp… and after stamping it, distresses it with Tim Holtz Distressing Pads… and then cut the basket liner out… and put a brad so that it looked real… made a pocket to hide behind the basket… and this is where the book would sit and be safe…
On the left hand side of the page, I used the theme of Asparagus… as our asparagus are just now sprouting from the ground… and we are enjoying them every night… what a sheer pleasure they are… we love them… and generally eat them raw… like you would celery… they are very very good for you..
Behind each basket I tucked a doily looking circle punched paper… I used the Blue Hill Lotus Punch… which is wonderful… and used a light paper (computer paper) to create this… that is the only problem with these punches… you can’t use card stock at all… unless it is really really thin…
Then I made a wreath medallion… using my favorite flower.. the daisy… and a sign to eat your veggies and fruit… and added a Spellbinder border of apples along the top… I popped the apples out and colored them with my Twinkling H2O's by Dreaming in Color and then added dimension Pearls for the leaves… wow love it… it looks a lot better in real life… as everything does…
On the right side of the page, I used the theme of garlic and pears… I had to use that great garlic and pepper stamp… and also had to use the pears… as I have a recipe in there for Pear Clouforti… an all time favorite of ours…The pears are all done differently… but my favorite one is done in dimensional pearls… and each color is dotted onto the pear.. you can see it at the lower left of the basket… I added a ribbon and bow to this page… and some paper flowers… at the bow and also at the lower right hand corner of the basket…
The books are all made like the other book I have given you details on… and also each page is painted with the Twinkling H2O's by Dreaming in Color … Love it…
Now I just hope that Chris loves it too.. .and also that she uses the recipes…
Oh these inspirational Saturdays... I love them... this week we had to go to t his really lovely site and find something that really inspired us to create... there was way too much eye candy.. but I settled on this one packaging... and it was leaves with the over lay as I have done..
So with this in mind... I will tell you how I created this background... and maybe you will try it yourself..
First, I chose a stamp ... which I chose the sage leaves by Fred Mullet... I love those stamps... anyway.. .I took a piece of white paper and with resist... stamped a number of times on the white paper... then I used Ranger white embossing powder and heated.. then I repeated but this time I used Ranger Stream Embossing powder... then I used my twinkling H20's and spritzed the background... using the Key Lime... and also the solar gold... love the look and the color it turned out... Now I have a piece of paper that is 8.5 X 11 and way to big for a nice 5x7 card... so I SCAN it into my computer... and then print it out so that it is 3x5... a perfect size for my card front... I use a couple of punches by Martha... mixing them.. I used the branch on the sides... adn the butterfly on the corner... perfect for this theme... added a BG paper by K and Company... and mounted my leaf paper onto it... For the focal point... a layered butterfly... with some Liquid Pearls by Ranger... I loved making this card... Hope that you will try making a background like this... they are fun.. .and I never get bored of making them..
Have a wonderful day.. Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
