Birthday Challenge

The other day, I received an E-mail the other day inviting me to a challenge... what a GREAT idea... gee whiz.. I think I will do this one..

It was for a BOYS birthday!!!
Oh wow.. .this is not an easy one for me... but a challenge is a challenge at times and should not be easy all the time.. .right???

So onward I moved.. I chose the image I was going to use.. .and then the style card... which is called the wiper... because a little wiper pops up when you open the card...

What could me more perfect for a little boy who is turning 6... a card that has a moving part!!!!
This is the card FRONT... and when you open it....

This little 'wiper' or flag pops up and on this one I put the number 6... along with a banner that says TODAY I AM...

Oh so special for a little 6 year old boy...
Anyway... some of the other details on this card..
On the front panel, I painted the back paper with Twinkling H20's... and then put a little gold on it to match the gold outline around the spellbinder labels.. Which I also ran thru the Cuddlebug Dotted Swiss folder... and then used Distress ink by Tim Holtz to show the dotted swiss a little bit more...

I also did an out of the 'box' cut with the spellbinder... you can see it better on the top view... with the horn and also with the birthday candles on the 'so many candles' label...

On the side panel (that is hidden when you first open the card) I have used a Martha Stewart punch and and then some punched balloons to give some Happy Birthday messages. Each Balloon has a thin gold thread attached to a brad...

All the coloring on this card was done with colored pencils... as I wanted a soft look to the card..

I really had to work to get the look I wanted with this card... but did have fun with it... After all ... I love creating these kinds of fun cards...

This is the color palette I had to use for this card... In real life the colors do match up..

After doing that one, I had a smaller one done, and so I started to fool around with that for the SCS Challenge of TLC275... which was to create a tent card...

Which is really cutting an opening ... and allowing something to 'swing' from an a shaped card.. (when you look at it sideways it is an A shape)

So I added some of the left over balloons... used some Happy Birthday stickers around the label opening...

Make a wish Birthday boy!!!!
Happy 6 years old...

This card has a Yellow in the back ground paper.. other wise it is also good for the challenge on InLinkz... Check on the side panel to go for more details..

Hope you have had a wonderful holiday week-end... and that you are ready for a full week of having fun with paper... lots and lots of paper and FUN...
Thanks for visiting my BLOG... and I love to have you come here and visit... leave me a message once in a while... Thanks..

Happy Memorial Day!!!

I had posted some cards we made at our Whipperstampers group meeting that we made... They are all cards for MEN... I thought I would be able to share them today with you... but the posting is below... so please scroll down to see them all... they are all so very nice and unique...

Our meeting this month was called Show Box... Each member that attended the meeting designed a card... and then put enough supplies into a shoe box to make another 12 cards of the same design.. and when we got to the meeting, the shoe boxes were passed around... and each one of us made all the cards... so we went home with all kinds of GREAT cards to send to the men in our life...

Okay Ellen stop laughing... I really rebelled with the theme of this Shoe Box .... as I dont' have that many MEN that I send cards to... I have enough MENS cards now for a life time... LOL.. but that is okay.. if anyone needs any, let me know... I will send you some... LOL...

Hope that you will scroll down and take a look..

Have a Happy and Safe holiday if you are traveling home... and enjoy yourself at all the picinics etc... don't eat too much.. .LOL. right!!!! See you later maybe with some new cards...

Thanks for taking a look... and also for visiting my blog today...

Zen Dazzle Doodles used some more...

I love using these frames for some of these cards.. they are fun to use... and very versatile... On this one I used the spellbinders in the middle and then built if up to create a nice space for these from flowers from Pretties by Bonnie...

I used the flower called Flower with dip... and then punched out some cosmos in black for the center of the flower... I added my little bird and a butterfly... The frame was colored with watercolor pencils... and the leaves and little bird were colored with Twinkling H20's... and the little bird I used some stickles on it... just had to have it sparkle a little bit..

I also used this card in appreciation for Scrappigramma2 Gracie's reign as Queen for the Day challenge... as her cards are always so very pretty and pink... she loves detail and this is for HER... Happy Queen day Gracie.. you certainly deserve to be honored as Queen... I certainly appreciate your friendship too neighbor...

This card was created with color... I just fell in love with the way this design just really turned out with color added.. love the explosion of color... It has green, turquoise, lime, purples, and blues... love all these colors... and together... wow for me.. I love them...

I put a piece of gold wrinkled paper in the center of the octagon... the card is called Reflection... so I thought it was perfect for that area. A little bird and a tag of happiness... and done

The card is on a very pale blue bazzill paper..

This card was made for a challenge today... F4A14... which is where we had to create a card showing something we collect other than our play toys for creating our cards etc... So I do have quite a few things I do collect...

Angels, Baskets, quilts, shells, snails, teddy bears, dragonflies, books and magazines... birdhouses, and old bird nests... if it has an egg... all the better... and of course flowers that grow outside.. I love them...

This card is also made with another Zen dazzle Doodle frame... and I do hope that you will check out my book...
You can download the book for only $10.00 and it will be ready for you to copy as many frames as your heart desires... day and night... all different kinds... You can get to the publisher by just clicking on the Books for sale in the right hand column of my blog... it will take you there.. and you will see all my books, but you will also see the one with FRAMES... that is the one that all three of these came from...

Thanks for taking a look... and also for stopping by to visit..
Have a safe and happy holiday week-end...

Zen Dazzle Doodle with Pretties by Bonnie

Okay.. this is a combination card... it is for a challenge on SCS... WT272 where Julie has asked that our cards have PAINT on them.. most of my cards do so that is not really a problem or challenge for me... I LOVE TO PAINT... and especially with my Twinkling H20's... they are just wonderful and t hey sparkle and make everything look so wonderful... So today I added another dimension also...

I want to sell some extra books this month... so I thought I would share with you a really fun thing... Since the other day you have been shown Zen Dangles... now here is an opportunity to 'cheat' a little bit...

I have published a book filled with 28 of these 'frames... and you have my permission to use them in your art work... (stated so in the front of the book. ) You can scan them into your computer if you buy the book.. BUT LISTEN TO THIS GREAT NEWS.... you can go to my publisher directly and purchase a download of this book directly into your computer for only $10.00.... you will have all 28 of these frames into your hands in just a few short hours... (I wish I could do that too.. .dial up will not allow me... boo hoo...) Anyway... this card shows on one of the millions of ways to use it... The name of the book... is ZEN DAZZLE DOODLE FRAMES TO USE IN YOUR ART. And the download is only $10.00.... super good deal.. That is only 35 cents per frame... wow... a bargain.

You can also use these frames for pictures in scrapping, and also for the front of a Clean and Simple card... with a verse or saying in the center... very nice to use for quite a few things in your needs..

Hope you will take a look at all the other books I have published ... they can all be downloaded into your hands very quickly... enjoy... and have a wonderful day...

Thanks so very much for taking a look...

I did two cards.. this was the simple one

and this one was a little bit more extensive..

New TOYS!!!

Yesterday afternoon, the order from Provo arrived with all kinds of new toys... YEAH!!!!
So I open the box and started to play with the new folders... so very much fun...

I embossed them all in white and played with them... as you can see... Each one a little bit differently.. This one is for the Sketch Challenge today... and the sketch is very simple and nice... so I was able to use one of the folders... as a background and the other as a band going across... The Butterfly folder is 12" long!!!! A new size... great for cards and also for scrapping... I love it... I used a resist pad and then put chalks over the butterflies and also on the background... love the pastel look, yet still a little bit towards the bold side... The background is called Polka dot... which is a little bit larger than the Swiss Dotted one... I love this one and think I will use this a lot... as I love the swiss dotted one so very much...

Another card for the Sketch challenge... but this card is 5.5X8.5... as I wanted to use my Bird cage that I got a few weeks ago... The bird house is a Sizzix by Tim Holtz in the Alterations series... love it.. .I used chalks on that too.. a pewter color... it is swinging in the breeze... Also the bird comes with it... which I put outside of the cage today... and colored it with markers... The background is called 'seeing spots' another new folder... and the band of bird cages is another new folder... 12 " long also...

I made the flower from pages in a book... and added ink on the edges... just to make it a little bit more shabby looking and also give it a rustic attitude!!!!

Now yesterday afternoon, when I did get these... I had all the papers out for the Color challenge... so that is how this next card happened...

I wanted to do this particular style of card... and so here is the front of it...

Nothing really eye popping... nice... but certainly not eye popping... a few flowers made with the spellbinder daisy die... and a panel over the gate way card... created with Martha's punch set... You know I don't know the names of these things... but I do love this one... it is very delicate in mood... love that for this type of card..

I tied it with a pale blue ribbon..

The colors were Bermuda blue, RED and Karft... so where is the RED???

The card above is the inside of the one above that... It is a simple fold... even though it looks complicated... and then it is decorated with all the paper laces created with some of Martha's punches... I love this heart one, and have hardly used it, so I was really happy to use it...

I enlarged this picture... so you can't clearly see the background of the center part... but it is the polka dotted folder... and then I used a spellbinder for the scalloped red layer... and then a spellbinder oval for the black magic panel...

I use a product in a jar by copic... called opaque white... you cna use it with a brush... and paint it onto the black and in a few seconds you have a nice dry white area... I drew these flowers on that balck and then painted it with some pencils, markers and other things like H20's... This other card the oval was done the same way... EXCEPT I did the panel a little bit differently... I cut the scalloped spellbinder out of the scrolled cuddlebug die... and then popped the black oval... added the Martha lace at the bottom and was done after I added a sheer red ribbon...

I really love these two cards that I made yesterday... and will be playing with my new toys to see all the ways to use them.. that is what is so much fun when you do get new things.. and incorporating them into what you already have... Oh so much fun...

I hope you have a fun day... and thanks for taking a look at my cards and blog...

One Card.... three challenges!!!

Tuesday is always a busy day around here on the farm... and it is on SCS too.. so I decided to do one card... for three challenges!!!

CC272 Color challenge... bermuda blue , red, and kraft... of course you can use neutrals....

MMSC Sketch challenge... which is what you see...

And then MMTPT95... Tea Pot Tuesday... where a fish needs to get back for graduation NOW and needs a ride... so Trish La Fish is lost and needs a ride...

So my card is all about that... Sammy the Seahorse and Larry the Lobster are arguing about who is going to give Trish LaFish a ride to the graduation.. .and all of sudden they realize that Trish has gotten a ride with some one else... LOL...

On this card I used two new things... it is the spiral embossing by Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations... I like it... it is differently done that the one by cuddlebug... and then I also used the Impressionibilities by Spellbinder... if you look really close on the top of hte card you can see it... Oh yeah... I also used my new shabby paper tool... on the kraft paper... so I guess that is three new things... Oh well..

I also used the grand lace template from Spellbinders... and my goodness and another new spellbinders... the sea critters... I guess I need to have my brain adjusted... maybe a nap would do it... Too much to do... no time for a nap this week.. .

Anyway... you got to see some of my new toys...

Hope you have some new toys to play with...

Thanks for taking a look at my blog... hope you enjoyed your stay... Love, Light and Peace.. Bonnie

Pinks and Limes

This card is for two challenges today...
The first one is for TLC 274.. and Holly asked us to make a card using the Black Magic technique... and you are suppose to use a stamp and use a white ink to stamp with and then paint over the dried white with markers or whatever...

Well I drew my design by hand... and I used the copic opaque white ink... and used my pinkie finger to create the little tiny flowers.. and then drew the leaves with a white gel pen... Then I used watercolor pencils and markers to create the colors on the white areas.

The other challenge was for Mojo Monday... and the sketch was really nice this week.. they always seem to be very nice... leaving enough room for each persons personality to shine through...

So this was fun... I had chosen the colors LIME and PINK... and went to town... had a lot of fun creating this card... Added some of Martha's punching... and a little cuddlebug background... to go along with the K and Company papers...

Thanks for taking a look at my blog.. and would love to have a comment also... am I getting to be greedy about comments... I think so... I love to know what you think... Thanks... Have a wonderful day...

Making flowers

Saturday I taught a class on technique... but the girls really wanted to know more about flower making... so I shared a few ideas and ways to make some pretty flowers... The other night at our stamp group meeting Ellen had brought some of the flowers she had made with a 6 pedal flower punch... but I didn't have one at all.. I had 5 and 7 and 9 and 12... so I made some flowers using those punches...

I love the way that they come out and the girls certainly had fun making them too..

This is one that I did in pink... and of course had to make the lacey background using the Martha Stewart punches...

I also added a few tiny silk flowers that I had laying around... a bow and some pearls just to add to the more feminine look... and I was done...

Here is a close up view of the flower area...

This Kraft and cream card was made again with a Martha Punch... and then I took a brown paper bag and painted it with gesso and created the flower from that... how much fun is that...

A close up of the flower area...
If you look real close you can see the green on the brown paper.. that is the printing from the bag!!!

This is just a another brown bag flower... and a little bit of cuddlebug action in the back with a border using a punch from MS.

I just love this little card... very simple and yet a lot went into making it... first off I spritzed some paper with Marmalade ink by Ranger... and then after it totally dried I made the flower.. and put glitter all over the edges.. .you can see that below in the close up...
Then I made the batik paper with embossing with clear and then layers of inking and distressing the paper... Torn edges and a bow and that is it..

A close up of the cute little orange flower...

Now this flower was done with a spellbinder daisy... the ends of the flower were trimmed off with a pair of deckled edge scissors.. (you know the ones that we had to have all the funny cutting edges with... LOL.. and I am sure that we don't use them very often at all.. all the ones that are sitting around in a drawer collecting dust... we should sell them to new crafters... or maybe give them to a school that will use them... ) Anyway that is what I used on the edges... otherwise this is made the same as the other flowers...
This is what the whole card looks like... (I am now having problems with this blog... and can't write down next to the card... so I will say my goodbyes' and then you can scroll down to see the card...

Hope that you have enjoyed all these cards and flowers... I also wanted to share with you all the mens cards that we made at our stamp group meeting... all mens' cards.. and each card is really GREAT... love them all.. don't know how I will use so many MEN's cards.. but will try.. .

Thanks for stopping by to visit... and hope that you have a wonderful Sunday... and get all rested for a fun filled busy week ahead...

Enjoy your day today...

Three Challenges of Fun!!!

Three Challenges of fun... and it was truly fun with all three of these..

This one on the left... MOJO Monday... Which was a sketch ... love the motion of this one.. I was totally taken with the card that Wanda Cullen had created.. I learned how to create the sailors knot... and then went on Mojo Monday site to learn what it was all about... FUN... sheer FUN... so another challenge that I HAVE TO DO!!!!

Oh my goodness.. what am I to do...

I had fun using a cuddlebug to create this focal point... The other night I was on the phone with our son.. .who just got back from PERU... we spent three hours talking and learning all about his wonderful trip... they really had a blast.. learned a lot.. and are ready to go back after a few months here state side... He will be going back to carve some sculptures this time... so it will be a combined trip... ANYWAY... back to the card... I had just embossed this and it was sitting there... and there was a pen... and I doodled on it.. .and added some things all around it... then cut it all up for the this card... LOL.. I had fun anyway... so it doesn't make any difference.. There was some turquoise on the table... so I used that with these colors.. and I never would have used them together... but I love the way the colors are... very playful.. a little bit of the spellbinder lace ... left over and a puffy flower... made from a book page... I twisted some sheer ribbon... as I didn't have any cord that I liked for this card... I love the sketch... and will most likely use it with the sailors knot next time... I love that knot WANDA... thanks a million for the link..
Okay.. this card is for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge... and I really liked the sketch... but didn't know if I would like using all those buttons... but I made the card a little bit larger than I normally do.. .most of my cards are 5 x 7 ... but this one is 5.5 X 8.5... so it can hold all these buttons with no problem at all..

I created the BLOCK PRINT with the flower and Dragonfly.. .it was made with piece of rubber.. like a huge eraser... very simple and love the results... I think if you look in the Archives you will find a few more with this same print..

I of course had fun with Pricilla's sketch... as they are all very nice... Hopefully I can get back into the swing of thngs on Tuesday and will be able to do this sketch more often..

They are also giving out some really nice blog candy this month.. .so check that out too..

This last card... is another brand new challenge for me.. I think that they are in the UK.. but not really sure... anyway... it is a fun challenge, so I will give it a try... We had to make a card and use metal on it... so I created this elephant card...

Okay... it started about two months ago when some friends were over and we made background paper... using acrylic paints and then used a bubble sheet of white to roll over it... great technique... then we stamped things all over these wonderful backgrounds... I used Beverly's Elephant by Tim Holtz... great stamp Beverly and thanks for letting me use it...

Anyway... I love this black lace that you can make with a spellbinder Grand template.. just so wonderfully beautiful in all ways... anyway I wanted to use that, for a contrast in color and also in feeling... then I used some Heating and AC tape.. .the kind that you have to go STEAL from your hubby's workshop... he will look for it.. and then finally realize to come to the studio and ask for the tape..Copnversation will sort of go like this... ." It is mine now.. ... how much do YOU want to borrow... HOW MUCH?? I use this for my cards.. this is good stuff.. .please don't use too much... Do you think that maybe you can buy a new roll next time you go to Lowe's or Home depot... ?? I really need this one...Thanks.. "

Anyway.. that is how I created the bamboo on the side of the card.. ran it thru the cuddlebug and voila' a great metal panel... I used some of my Ranger Pens to outline the top leaves with a color called stream... to match the turquoise background paper...

Hope you enjoyed seeing these.. I had fun making them all..
Love ,Light and Peace... Bonnie

Bird singing

Okay I have had a little bit of delay this week.. trying to get things ready for classes that I will be teaching on Saturday... so that is my excuse and I am sticking to it... !!! LOL..

This is for the Sketch Challenge this week on SCS.. All of a sudden I had three sketch challenges and so I really got into the swing of things... but this one I went a little wild with...

You know when you buy something and it has this piece of sheer plastic on it... well I just can't throw that away.. It COULD be used for something... and then where will I put it, so that when I think of using it, I will know where to find it, etc. etc.. ALSO it keeps all that plastic out of the landfills... and I try and help as much as I can.. .Anyway... I love all the embossing folders... but they all come with this plastic... and so do all the spellbinders.. so I have saved them all.. and they are finally all in a drawer all by themselves... which I might add is over flowing now... so I have to use some it..

This card was one of the places I have used it... I stamped the sentiment on it... and the underneath I used some distressing inks and gave another dimension with it... I added red and blue... so it gave another color... other wise the card is pretty normal.. Oh yeah... I did create an image out of the oval... which I really enjoy doing.. I guess you could say I love being out of the BOX... in everything that I do..

Hope you will try and find some useful ways to use your plastics... they are really nice for all kinds of things... so I will list these under plastic sheet techniques...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

Zen Dazzle Doodles

WOW... today the challenge was to do a zendoodle... and of course I love doodling... and the ZEN doodles are a favorite too..
In fact I have published a few books on these ... check them out by going to the right side of this blog and you will see a place called MY BOOKS ON SALE ... in fact it has a one of the many doodle book covers there... just click on it, and it will take you to my publisher and you can see and order any of the books you desire...

Or You can go to my Blog that is called ART BETWEEN THE PAGES by clicking on that picture in the right column also... and all the books are listed in there... There are quite a few of them... I love to doodle... and just might do a couple more of these books soon...

The top card is created with a ZEN DAZZLE DOODLE from the book called Zen Dazzle Doodle Snowflakes... and in this book I have created 34 of these doodles... I love doing this... as you can see...

I started out doodling when I was a kid.. I didn't like school and I needed to do something creative while WASTING all that precious time in a class room.. learning things that I didn't want too.. so by the time I got to High School, I was well on my way with having a few hundred really nice doodles... sometimes it might take a week to finish ONE doodle to my liking... but as I got into high school and college and then graduate collage I was well on my way to a doodle an hour... still taking notes and all that good stuff in between... I actually did start to like school... but hey... you have to when you want to learn something to help people..

Anyway... I was going to school for my degree in Psychology to become an Psycho therapist... and I already had a degree in art.. so when I got out, I mixed the two... and used them both and at the time, art therapy was just becoming a way to reach some of the people I was working with... so I applied this to my work... and it was a huge help to me and my patients..

I started also to analyze my own doodles and wow... what an eye opener that was... yikes.. anyway... talk about healing self... I started right then and there... although I did know what was on my mind thru the doodling of most of them.. so it was not that huge of a surprise... But it did help me greatly to become a better person for ME... and also to know who and what I was and to help others better.. which was the original goal..

When we left our home in the northeast to move, I grabbed my doodles as a prize possession... and knew that some day I would do something with them... most of those I have not even used... as I started to doodle to pass the time... and was not really very well physically, so I used that doodling as a pass time... I have to have my hands doing something all the time.. knitting, spinning, something.. so I doodle... ESPECIALLY when on the phone!!!!!

Anyway... hope that you enjoy seeing these... and please look at all the books I have published... I am proud of them.. and hope you will enjoy seeing them all.. You can buy from Amazon or any other book store in the world... Thanks so much for taking a look..

Have a fun filled day... and pick up a pen, doodle a little and you will be surprised at how much you can enjoy it... don't stress over what it looks like.. just doodle...

Tuesday Delights

Good Morning... or maybe I should say GOOD AFTERNOON.... we slept in late today.. it was raining... and no use getting up that early when you can sleep in... we really need the rain on the gardens... so this is really delightful in all ways.. the extra sleep and also the rain...

So I had a late start today... and really took my time on top of that to really enjoy playing with these the making of these cards... I even cleaned out a couple of drawers with stamps as they tend to get a little messy with me always going to the bottom to see what is hiding... so I have all my beach and shells drawers nice and organized for a few hours...

Todays story on Tea Pot Tuesday was about a possible ship wreck.. so I created a story about Carl the crab that was waiting to see if the ship was going to go down.. or not.. if it did he would have a new home, and also maybe a nice free meal.. if not, he just might be the meal for the tea party gals... Oh No..what would be better than crab sushi??? WOW delicious... you dont' have to eat crab raw... in fact I would make a nice crab salad and add a lot of nice fresh veggies in the sushi roll... yummmm ... I also used the colors for the Color challenge on this card... as the colors were really beach like for it.. I used an embossing folder from the Asian collection by Cuddlebug... and also stamps from Impression Obsession and Fred Mullet and a few others that I am not sure where they came from... you see about two years ago I was running out of room for not only my rubber stamps, but also for me to work in the studio.. .so I took all the wood off my stamps... and I love it.. .best thing I ever did... I use to have 10 drawers of flower stamps... now I only have 2!!!! Huge difference.. and I also can find my stamps easier.. I have used all kinds of things to store the stamps in or on.. and I like them all.. one is not better than the other... just different... so unless I know the line of stamps from a particular company... I really can't tell you where the stamp came from... so very sorry... but that is the way it is..

The color challenge that Betty created was really delightful... I don't have the color Razzleberry... but I thought it was a sort of reddish color.. .and I think it is more bright than a dull reddish color.. .anyway, I used this really pretty piece of reddish colored paper... and then started to have fun iwth this one too..

I wanted to use another embossing folder that was new.. I had used one yesterday on my card.. and this one is called Patchwork... by Tim Holtz and they come two in a package... I embossed the paper.. then used some distressing inks to color it lightly... and then added a row of punching by Martha Stewart... and then of course my focal point... I spritzed some paper... and then embossed the flowers.. once using copper and then the black.. cut it out with the octagon template by spellbinder... and then of course a scalloped edge too.. Now the dragonfly... a gold outline sticker... that is put onto copper mesh and then cut out.. I love these as embellishments... they are so special looking... I did heat the copper mesh to give it different colors and textures..

Hope that you have a wonderful day... enjoy it all day... and in everything you do, think of how special YOU are ... in all ways..

Two Casings

Well today on SCS Holly gave us a challenge to create a FRAME on our card.. you can make the frame anyway that you want... you just have to make a frame... So I did...

I also cased two card makers that make FANTASTICALLY OUTRAGEOUS cards... For two different reasons...

Cathleen was chosen on Sunday as the Featured stamper... and she truly is a very gifted artist... in so many ways... I love her cards... very simple, and yet so very intricately created... each one lovelier than the next... it was truly very difficult to choose one to case... but after much ADO... I chose one ... and did make quite a few changes... Cathleen's Gallery is truly a wonderful eye candy store... go and visit... and you will see the changes that I made to this card.. .
You will be able to tell which one I cased... Congrats on being chosen Cathleen... your cards are wonderful.. and I enjoyed every minute I was in your gallery... you go Paper Doll... you certainly live up to the name...

Okay...now here is another casing... I hadn't been on Amazing Paper Grace's site in a long long time... but the other day I was surfing.. which is very rare... as being on dial up... it is like taking a long ride off a short pier... you just never get anywhere... but I was going things... and let the site download.. and there is was.. .the creation that I had been working on for over three weeks.. trying to get two layers of paper created with a Martha Stewart punch set to line up closely... wow...

Okay... so much for the rest of the night.. .I started to cut and punch my heart out... and FINALLY got it done... but I think I need some help.. .anyway... today I went back on her site... and she has a You Tube thingy... and I can't download it... but you might be able to... so go there and see how this is created... LOL.. .It is really so pretty on a card... and you can then create any size you need for a project... YEAH... that is why I was trying to figure this out... as I wanted to do different sizes... and now, hopefully I will be able to.. Anyway.. .a friend who has also figured this out is going to help me to make sure I can do this again!!!! Right Marie???

I hope that you have enjoyed these casings... ( a casing is where you see someone's card... and you make two more changes to it.. ) In this card, I used different colors, different frames, adn also added a butterfly in the upper left hand corner... I love these flying things... so pretty and they bring the card to life.. I have never seen a pink butterfly.. .but I am sure that somewhere out there, there is one.. .

Have a wonderful day... and push the sides to the box a little and learn something new today... stretch and enjoy life a little more...

Birthday cards using cuddlebug folders

The Cuddlebug challenge is to make a birthday card for a child... using of course a cuddlebug folder... so that was really difficult for me... !!!! NOT... I think I use a lot of cuddlebug folders in cards.. anyway... it was a lot of fun... of course I got really carried away with just the right the image etc... but came up with a couple that had been sent to me by friends...
So thanks...

This little boys card was so easy to create for me... I painted the image with Twinkling H20's and then using my spellbinders, cut the image out... adn then used more oval dies to cut the other three layers of oval scalloped spellbinders... using of course different color cardstock...

Then used one of the Asian embossing folders for the background... I really wanted to use a blue border.. but everything seemed so very bold and over powering... so I used a Martha Punch set to create the blue border.. .and the grand Lace template by spellbinder for the border... a little gingham ribbon.. and four button brads... adn I was done.. I love it...
Of course the little girls card was so very easy to create... frilly and lacey is the look I wanted...
This image is not really the best, but I think she is cute with all these fun balloons... I wanted to keep it pink and white.. .so I used 5 shades of pink Twinkling H20's... in the coloring of the image.. I mounted on some dotted swiss... adn then used the flower adn circle folder for the background.. some more Grand lace using the spellbinders... and some pearls.. and a BOW... of course a frilly bow... in pale pink organza... Love it... I could have really gone crazy with more pearls... but felt that this was enough.. what do you think???

Thanks for taking a look.. .and also for stopping by to visit... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

Batik Background and Gilded bird

Oh I had so many new things to play with... and couldn't make up my mind what to play with first... I got some of the new Tim Holtz' Sizzix templates... the one with the Bird cage and the sign post... I use the cage and the hanger for the signpost... and then used a piece of my batik paper that I had just made...

I used a music embossing folder for the background of the cage... it had to be alittle bit on the quiet side... or it got lost... you know there is such a learning curve for me when I get something new ... does that happen to you???
Anyway... I think I embossed every single folder to get the right one... and I had 4 new ones... and did like one of them behind this.. maybe I have to play a little bit more... what a shame... !!!!!

Anyway I used some distressing inks on the music embossing and liked the looks of that... then I needed a nice little bird... so I printed some sheet music and drew a bird... and had what I wanted.. I distressed the batik paper... as I will enter this also into the WT270 Challenge later... if I have time... time is slipping by so very fast today... not enough... can some one please turn the clocks back about 5 hours.. thanks...

Hope you enjoyed what you saw today... leave a comment and let me know... Thanks a million..
Thanks for stopping by... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

An Award!!!!

WOW... I received two of these great awards in the last few hours... and I am totally amazed.. Thank you Lisa and Edna for the awards... Edna your comments about me are so very sweet and I thank you again from the bottom of my heart... it was a very hard morning today... and those words pulled me right back to where I should have been.. thanks again...

We just never know what is happening in other peoples worlds... so when you do a RAK of any kind and it is truthfully given and accepted it is wonderful for both... So again.... Thanks Lisa and Edna.. I totally appreciate your kind thoughts..

With that in mind... I would like to send this award onto two people who have in the past few weeks changed my life... And you both know how you have done that... Anne Harmon... and besides it is your day today anyway... so You totally need this award... and also to Betty Wright... who invited me into a group of gals that have all really made some great changes in the way I look forward to each and every day... thanks to all the Paper Dolls... and to Betty for making this group possible.. thanks again to you both...

Some of the things about me that you might know... but maybe you don't....

* I am very thankful for the wonderful loving hubby that I have had for over 41 years..(actually on June 26th it will be 41 years together... ) He has always been there for me... and over the past few years been a very strong force in my life... and literally helped me to live.
* Also to our son, Brett and his girl friend Casey... thanks for all the great letters from Peru... we certainly have been enjoying them... love hearing from you anyway... but while on vacation... in a foreign country... we are totally amazed and thrilled to hear from you both.
* I am very very thankful that we have such a wonderful piece of land that we call home and also Sunshine Valley Organic Farm.. .and also for all the critters that live with us..
* I love all my friends that have been able to share in having fun to create in my studio... and I love sharing with them all.. on all levels..
* I love the groups that I have been able to join and be part of over the past few years.. .I have never had so much fun as I do with all these great groups... love them all..
* I am very thankful for all the healing that I am able to do.. I have been a very sick person from years of poorly administer medications and things that I didn't need... I am now getting back onto the road of health and positive living.. it has been a long road... I can list all the things that I have had to work thru.. but who the heck wants to read all that... but there have been huge road blocks that I have been able to over come ... and you all have helped in ways that I Thank You for... along with many others that have also helped.. and for this I am thankful in all ways...

Living is a wonderful thing... I love it..

Have a wonderful day... and thank you again Lisa and Edna... I really do appreciate this..

Happy Birthday to a Paper Doll!!!

Even though you are on Vacation... I wish you a very Happy Birthday... a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you ... and enjoy your vacation in NH too.. Happy Birthday ANNE HARMON...

I made this card for Anne, and sent it when I thought her birthday WAS... and I was a week early!!!! But she had time to enjoy it prior to going off on vacation.. .so everything that happens, happens for a reason...

Since I was in the middle of setting up a class to teach techniques on resist.. .I made the background paper with a resist technique... (Known as Ghost stamping .... glossy paper, watermark ink and reinkers and then another stamping with Brillance Platinum ink. ) If you look closely you will see that the butterflies are white and the flowers are silver looking... when you move the card around the silver flowers show up...and it gives you the illusion of the flower coming and going... what fun.
I then stamped the rose three times.. one of Anne's all time favorite flower... and painted each one... then I started to cut the rose up... and layer it on the areas that I wanted to build it up... so that when you look at the rose it jumps out at you.. I also did that with a few of the leaves.. added a bow... and put some pearls on it... and was finished... ready to mail..

Of course as you can see it was mounted onto Dotted Swiss.. and also their is a gold line around the spellbinder label... but you can see all that...

Thanks for taking a look... and hope that you have a VERY Happy BIRTHDAY ANNE.. and you are right.. I do need a much needed vactaion.. but I do so love those tea parties... The stories take me longer than the card... LOL.. but it is all fun...

Love, Light and Peace...
