Listen to the Symphony

Today being Wednesday....

(all day...  my goodness where is this week going????)

The Challenge of Frilly and Funkie is starting ...  this week Rebecca has requested that we create something that is

COOL WATER...

I should have waited a day longer and posted my other challenges today... ugh.. .anyway... if you are interested, I did a Mermaid card yesterday... you can find it here...  it is called Water Water and more water...

Okay... back to today... Wednesday...

I thought okay... the other picture is not really frilly and I wanted to do a frilly card... have not really been in the FRILLY mood recently...  but needed to do something a little frilly... so here it is...

Down by the SEA...
I use to spend a lot of time at the Atlantic ocean growing up...  Maine, Cape Cod, and the JERSEY shore... and also we would take summer trips to Florida and Connecticut... all fun times with swimming and collecting shells, lobster trapping, watching the little sand piper birds, collecting Sand Dollars... and of course listening to the SYMHPONY of the waves...

this is my Cool Waters...  Maine was truly Cool Waters.. we generally didn't go in swimming until late August... and then you would turn blue after about 10 minutes...  but I loved it...
Memories of the summers...  with family... many generations of them all over the entire Island..  a grand time with four generations of my maternal side of the family...

I can remember going to the Cape also... and entirely different shells, sand beaches were not at a premium there... where we were at least... but I knew all the people there.. and they were mainly my age...  fun times for a preteenager...

But then we have the Jersey Shore... wow... now a teenager and the shore had it all to offer...  fun and games...  lots of different kinds of memories...  different shells, sandy plus beaches and lots of things to do... night and day... spent many summers there...

All in all the SYMPHONY of the OCEAN... was always the same...  peaceful and soft... and full of life...  not matter where you are... the oceans are wonderfully packed with all kinds of critters and plant life... we must take better care of our oceans... of the SYMPHONY will stop to play this beautiful melody...

Now in my life... I live not close to the ocean and I live in the mountains, and love looking and listening to the SYMPHONY of the woods... and the animals that live in them...
Coyote off in the distant howling, raccoons trying to get into the chickens, bears rummaging through a left over picnic near by, and then we have the deer that love to come and eat our produce and sample everything we grow... LOL... not funny, but so very true...

Listen to the COOL WATERS of the Rivers and Brooks and the midnight moon flicker on the cool summer waters...

Thanks Rebecca for bringing this theme to me... I have enjoyed the memories of the COOL WATERS...

Hope you have a fun day... and enjoy a swim.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit on my blog and also thank you so very much for all the lovely and wonderful comments that are left... I read each and every one and cherish the love that they come with...

WATER. WATER and more water... not enough water...

I never would have thought that I could combine these two challenges... they are totally opposite... BUT... low and behold... today I am doing just that...

On Mondays I do my Zentangle Challenge... with, I am the DIVA and the challenge this week is to create something with B.Y.O.B.  (bring your own Beverage)   and so that is pretty easy for me... WATER...  WATER and More WATER...

and also SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE... All about a FACE...

Okay... they really didn't click with me either... but I wanted to make a special card for my Son and DIL... and so I created this picture... I started it on Sunday night... way prior to the challenges being announced...  So after looking on Monday to the challenges... I was surprised to see that this would really fit into both of these challenges... so I finished the picture off with tangling and then colored it my INKTENSE colored pencils... and then scanned it, printed and made this card...

Okay... I am trying to work thru which part to show you first... so I guess I will show you the front of the card first...  such decisions to make!!!!

This is the front of the card... do you see the face peeking out at you????? it is there...  you will see it better in a minute.
I made the paper with distress inks and my worksheet.... and then stamped and die cut all the other pieces... coloring them with distress pens and inks.

when you open the card... this is on the top part of the card... the large seahorse and the turtle are stamps and die cuts and they were colored and then glued onto the paper, that again I made from white cardstock, distress inks and stamps...

Here is the SPECIAL INSIDE of the card..  my Zen tangle also for the week...  water, water and more water...  a mermaid with her new little one...  with all the sea critters with her loving the new little baby...

The border is a Martha Stewart sea punch set... and the background paper again, white cardstock, distress inks and stamps... love making special papers that way... so much fun and they really make the card look GREAT..

The back side of the card... another piece of Bonnie paper...

Here is a close-up of the TIA for the week...
in all her glory...

I tried to keep with the theme of ocean dwelling 'tangles' like purk, mooka, and all the other ones...  click on any of the pictures to see them larger...

They just had a baby boy on July 3rd... and I wanted to make a send them a special card...

My favorite drink is WATER...  cant' get enough of it... we all need to drink nice CLEAN water...  no fluoride, no chemicals... just nice CLEAN WATER... my drink of all times...

Our son loves Mermaids... so I had to do this mermaid for him... as this is his mermaid and their little one...  Love it..

Hope that both groups of people from the two different challenges enjoy this piece... I know that it is entirely different than you are use to...

I had to do it... and I hope you like it...

Have a super wonderful day...  create with all your heart... and enjoy it... and thanks again for stopping by for a visit...

Hidden Stamps

After being invited onto the Altered Alice Design Team, my brain started to switch into high gear... I knew who the sponsor was going to be... and low and behold.. I had won a set of these GREAT stamps on one of the challenges...  so I pulled them out.. and started to plan... could you smell the smoke...  ????  I really was thinking hard...  So I came up with this idea...  so I gathered up all my things... stamps, papers... which by the way the whole project you are about to see... it is made from WHITE CARD STOCK... with the exception of the Red Roses... which is a very pretty red mulberry paper... LOL... everything else started out as white card stock...  I did have a ton of fun with this project... thinking, creating and using the stamps, getting messy, rethinking... and then finally taking photos of the finished project and then sharing with ya'll....

So on the outside of this project... which is a hexagonal box...  I am showing you all the stamps from the set  called  Alice in Wonderland ....

The characters all around this Hexagon are the characters we all love and cherish...  Like the Queen ...
the RED QUEEN of Hearts...

White Rabbit

On the top of the box.. there are 18 red mulberry roses in honor of the Queen...
I made them like porcelain so they will stand up to all kinds of people handling this box...  The leaves are Pretties by Bonnie and colored with Distress Markers... by Ranger..

All around the lid there is a band of green leaves... cut from a Martha Stewart punch and colored with five Green Distress Stains...  and then the word WONDERLAND is spaced across with K& Co letters...

The feet are from my days of country crafts... and they are little RED apples...  I only had 4... so since this was a WONDERLAND project and things in Wonderland are always a little off.. so 4 feet on a six sided box is a little bit off... but normal in Wonderland...

Each one of the panels on the sides of the hexagon box are basically the same... each has a stamp by STAMP ATTACK... but the backgrounds are all different...  and I used a separate embossing folder for each panel...

And then this adorable little ALICE...
I have cut each one of these out... and they are so adorable...  I love these stamps..

AND of course the MAD HATTER.... with only one show on...

I left these all black and white ... but have used them often and colored them too.. they are really a nice set of stamps...

And here is ALICE sitting on the Throne with the critter under her feet...  with her Fleur De Lis in her hand... and so I used the background of the same...

And of course the FAMOUS  Tweedle boys... Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum...  how cute are they...  with the stripe back ground...

I have to tell you that my daughter gave me the checkered stamp that I used on the bottom... it was one of the first clear acrylic stamps that I received... and it was well over 10 years ago... I really didn't know what I was ever going to use it for... and I have to tell you that it is one of my favorite ones that I use almost every day either in my work or in my journal...  I love it... thanks Heather Amy..  On all the edges of the box, I have used Tim Holtz tissue tape... and it helps to make the project work really fast...   Love it...

And a picture of the top of the box real close up and pretty....  This is the only part of the box that is not made from White paper... I used red Mulberry paper to make the roses and then dipped into Utee... love the roses...

When you take the lid off... low and behold...  four of the sides fall down...

And you see the inner section of the box... which the scene is alive with all kinds of action...

The Mouse is telling his Sad Tale that is on his tail...  (another STAMP ATTACK Stamp...)
How wild is that...

All his friends are sitting around as he tells his SAD TALE...

A little bit closer ... so you can see this great stamp...  of course I had to take his original tail off... and added the tale ...

This is the mouse all alone... he is really a very special mouse... as when you lift up the panel he is standing on... as you see here... there is a box... underneath the place where he stands...

Here is the box... and low and behold... there is a hidden BOOK...

It is the ROYAL book of Wonderland Postage Stamps...  The mouse must have taken this... I wonder if the Queen knows about this...  Oh well...
Now when you take the book out... you can see the box... surprised that the mouse didn't have something else in there???

Here is the Royal Book of Wonderland Postage... from 1865...

And here is each one of the stamps... which I have to say each stamp was colored and then put onto special painted papers that match each stamp... .

I have used all kinds of paints, inks and you name it... on the papers...
Each stamp is really cute... and I would say that they are about 1.5 inches in length...  or height...  how cute is this one with Alice and the pig child...

And of course the Mad Hatter...

I like him so very much that I had to do two of him...  they are wild...
I used a post card embossing folder from Tim Holtz on this one... love the look of that with the Tea Party stamp...  how great is that...
I used some twinkling H20 paints on the paper and then a white gel pen to do the feather...  love the rabbit in his purple vest...

And here he is in a blue vest...

The colors really change the whole look of the stamp... that is why I colored so many... and then I WAS going to choose my favorite ones...  but I loved them all... LOL...
And I had a piece of glossy paper that I had used some alcohol inks on.. and had to use them with this Alice stamp again...

I really have to say Thank You again Carol for these GREAT stamps... I hope that a lot of you will take a look at these stamps and buy them... your Alice Creativity will really LOVE these ...

Thanks for taking and look at my Entry in the Altered Alice Design Team... I hope that you will enjoy what I create ....Enjoy your day and week...  and your visit in WONDERLAND....

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

A LONG Story called SYNCHRONICITY

SYNCHRONICITY
WOW what a word this is… and so very powerful in so many ways…  I guess it all started on Tuesday of this week… I was trying to clean up my studio and realized that my paper bins were over flowing… you see when I have low energy I will pick up a paint brush and make background papers… or pick up a spray bottle and mist some backgrounds… I love them all… but I doubt I will ever use them all the way that I thought I would.. so I decided to make a ‘few’ journals with the papers…
That was Tuesday…

On Wednesday we went shopping up the mountain and I had the opportunity of watching people as they passed me …  I love people watching…  especially in this place… as there are all walks of life… and each person is so very interesting to me…  So this very elegant woman passed me and I told her that I thought she was Beautiful… which she was…  She had beautiful dark skin that was so warm and rich looking…  and she had on the most glorious colors.... they were tan, apricot, lime green with a touch of turquoise and a long  long, long pearl necklace that almost reached here knees…  and she was tall…  so this necklace was very long… Oh she was so stunning.. I can still see here in my minds eye..

That was Wednesday

Yesterday I started to cut my paper for the journals... and created a huge mess... and so I took a break from that and created a larger mess and made a few things...  LOL.. in other words I had FUN!!!!

I made this page for one of my New Journals... and loved it...

In one of the new Journals I am going to do a page a day and it is going to be my MOOD or feeling for the DAY... so yesterday I was trying to go with the FLOW of things... and totally enjoy all ... and yet feed my inner feelings... I even took a needed nap!!!  And totally enjoyed that too.. yikes... what a fun day...

My hubby and I made dinner together ... and sat and talked and ate something that we hadn't had in YEARS...  enjoying that too...
This morning I went to check on a few sites... and low and behold I found that  Julie at Blazer Designs had been  making journals the same way as I was making them ... WOW... SYNCHRONICITY.... and then I noticed that she had posted a space for entering a journal page... which I did... and then I noticed that the gal from the ART Journal CAFE
also had an entry... and I hadnt' checked on that site in a few days...  so upon checking that site low and behold there were the colors of the woman on Wednesday...  WOW... SYNCHRONICITY   PLUS...

So with that story all told... you can understand a little bit better why I have pictures of all these journals... LOL... I had a lot of paper and cut it into sizes perfect for me to journal on...  but I did put some of the papers back... as I might need them for other things too.. LOL... oh come on... I have to save a few things... don't I ???

So here are the undecorated journals..

But when you open them... they all have different pages in them...  as the papers are all originals... and all ready to be journaled on.. oh what fun I am going to have...

Sprays, masking, dribbles, you name it... I have papers that prove I have done it...  and then again some other things too...

All fun and I love them all..

Each one unique...
Different colors...

Different feelings...

And maybe if I choose not to journal on a page or two.. .that will be okay too..  since they are mine... I can do with them as I please... wow... such a fun thing...

So onto the Challenge at the Art Journal Cafe...

I used the colors... as I had been wanting to use these colors since I had seen this stunning woman the other day...  but I had to add a few things...   The PEARL is the paint dabber I used too...  Oh when you are in SYNCHRONICITY you do it all over the place... I wonder how many other people have been having synchronicity all day today too... I know that my hubby and I have been all day long...  amazing...  I love it too...  I hope that Julie and also the gal over at the ART JOURNAL CAFE read this...  I wonder what made them do the things that they did... color wise and to make journals with old painted papers...  FUN HUH???
I decided to just use the colors and the WORD... my word for the DAY... to say the least...

I had to use a page that I had started a long time ago on this same color challenge too...  so here is that one...  with the pearls...
 It all began like this...

And then I kept on adding colors and playing with it...

And then this is what I came up with...  I added the pearls and was done...  other than adding todays word

SYNCHRONICITY....

Hope you have a wonderful day...  enjoy it all...  I am... as you can tell...

Thanks for taking the time to read all this... and also for stopping over to see my play results...
Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

Embrace the Moment and FLY

Happy Monday.... hope that your week-end was a pleasant one... and that you are ready for a fun filled week ahead... no matter what it is ... a FUN filled week is in order...  To start the week off... I always do a CHALLENGE that I love...  The Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge...
You should check out all the GREAT work there this week... it is all very unique and so very different... each member of the DT has done an outstanding creation... love them all...   So I had to do something from my heart like so many of them did...
I spent a lot of my summers at the beach... Since we lived in NJ as I was growing up... we went to the Jersey shore... also to Cape Cod and my mothers maternal family in Maine... so I saw many different types of beaches and the different water fronts created by the ocean...  so great...  In cape cod you so often saw the beach grasses blowing in the air... and so I wanted to create that feeling... and so the background that I started off with was to give that wispy breeze across your face in the summer as you are standing on the beach... LOVE IT... don't you???
Walking on the beach collecting shells, seeing a sunset as you collect them... or maybe even an early morning stroll on the beach you would see pinks in the skies...

And again I wanted to show that too...  Some of these things have gotten lost on the page as it progressed... but they are there in spirit and also under things... LOL...
The name of this page in my Journal is Embrace the Moment and FLY.... as we so often forget to do that when we are enjoying ourselves...  reflecting back in time I did forget that at the moment... but certainly have the memories to do so now...

I have the shells that I have collected from all over the eastern sea coast in jars on my hearth. .... year round.... to remind me of the connection to the ocean..  I don't go to the oceans anymore... but can remember the times when we did...
The air was clean, the waters were clean and sands were hot on the feet as you walked in the sand to get to the waters edge... so very GREAT on a summers day.

The sand Pipers on the shore line, trying to get a meal from the little critters digging deeper and deeper to get away from the sand pipers bill and tummy....

I can remember collecting sand dollars in Maine on Bailey's Island... as My great Grandparents house and family lands were all on Orr's Island... if you have ever been there... you have seen my families old general store... the Prince family ran it for years ... and now one of my great uncles daughters has a chowder business in the old store...

I had to get the effect of clouds... as they are so pretty when they are floating over the ocean...  the waves hitting the sand and tickling your toes as you reach the water....  Summer Time...
I hope that you feel at this point like we have enjoyed a day at the beach... on our Summer Holiday... which is the theme for this challenge...  I have enjoyed it ... that is for sure...

Collect some shells, display them proudly in a special place and remember the Holiday at the Beach forever...

Everytime you feel the breeze in your hair it will bring back that memory to you...  so FLY in your everyday world to EMBRACE the Moment...

Have a great day and week... and enjoy it all...
Thanks for stopping here on your daily visits... and see you soon...  Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
