One last thought

When I have some 'spare' time, I take some scrap paper and use it to cut some dies... and I have to say that I use only my white scraps generally to do this...

Okay after I have a pile... I then start to play with them... and pile them up and see what I like best... this is a good way to find new ways of using your spellbinders... Okay... so after a few minutes you find something that you like.. and voila'.... a fun new card...

So that is what you see here... I took the flat area to draw a few little branches ... add a few little leaves... a row of dots..

Then I added some hand drawn flowers... these are just painted little flowers with some white lines in them.. .a pearl in the center... and then popped onto the card...

Today the sky i bright.... and all is sweet...
When I made this card, it was that ... but it looks like it is going to rain anytime soon... so I do hope that your day is bright in all ways...

Hope you have enjoyed this and will view all the other cards I have added today... I have been a busy person.. and have enjoyed making them all... Come back soon and see if there are some more new things... I am always busy... that is for sure...

If I don't see you prior to tomorrow night I wish you and all of yours the very best Happy New Year... May each be brightly shining on you and yours.. and may each day be happy, Healthy and creative for you...

Another Doodle for you to see

I showed you a doodle the other day that I had printed and here is another one... this one I colored in just a little bit... I love this one.. .more than ever... it is so very delicate .. and cutting it out was not the easiest thing... but left some areas where there are some solids... so don't look at them.. okay??? I really would like to get these made up into some stamps... as then I could have some fun with them... I know a few of you have asked for them.. .and hopefully soon I will be able to get some made...

After cutting this one out, I mounted it on a white circle.. and then added the Martha Stewart corner punches...(gluing them each on to the circle to create a medallion) then of course my favorite butterfly using the spellbinder and also the dotted swiss embossing folder... a few pearls down the center and all done...

Now for the background... I used another folder... I told you I had most of them.. .this one just looked so nice with this ... so that is the one I used...

(Speaking of Cuddlebug folders... did you see new Asian Cuddlebug folders??? Wow... if you like asain things.. .you will love these... there are some nice backgrounds and also some that are really Asian style... Great new folders... but I still love my dotted swiss one.. )

Hope you like this and will try using some of your art in your cards...
Thanks for visiting my blog site... hope you enjoyed it... come back again... real soon..

Faerie with the Purple Flower

Faeries are a favorite of mine.. .they are all around me... and I love them all.. this one is very special, as she has a purple flower... ( I LOVE PURPLE) so when cutting out the many layers that go into making her, I keep on telling her how very special she is.. .she is very proud and loves to be told how special she is...

She does have about 6 layers of paper to make her very dimensional and cute.... behind her is white paper that I have used the butterfly impression sheet from Spellbinders... so very delicate and pretty... all white for her...

This is again another card where I used the sketch from SCS... and also some golden trim on the sides.. The magical butterfly is also created with the Butterfly dies from Spellbinders... and then I ran them thru the ever popular swiss dot cuddlebug folder...

I used some black half pearls to accent the splitting of the papers.. .a few white pearls on the center of the butterfly...

Hope you enjoy this one... She is special and also a lot of fun..
Have fun looking at all the other things I have created on this blog... and have a special day too... create something special for you...

More Sketches on Wednesday!!!

Well this card is very special to me TODAY!!! What it will be tomorrow is another story... but today I LOVE IT!!! I had so much fun putting it together... First off, I painted the flowers... nothing special at all.. I am not kidding... any small child could paint like I did to create these flowers... then I took a gold gel pen and create some veins in the flowers... and then I used a diamond glaze on them.. .the pearl was the finishing touch... Then I cut some leaves out of some green scrap paper... put some veins in them with a stylist... and made a pink dotted bow...

The Flowers are drying.. and so I get my trusty spellbinders heart dies out... and start cutting out all kinds of hearts... some with the centers cut out... some with solid centers... then start playing with them to see what I can create... okay... found what I wanted... and I pot dotted them together... and set them aside.. .cut and mounted all the background papers, and then put the card together... LOVE IT... Oh My Goodness... I have another idea that just popped into my brain... this is just the beginning of a line of very fussy and fancy cards... so you better hold on.. .I don't know when I will get them done, as they are in my brain.. but they are a comin' out...

Well I do hope you enjoy this card... Thanks for visiting me... and I will have some more pretties for you in a while...

Sketch Wednesday on SCS

Oh my goodness this sketch has been fun for me today.. Had to get up early so I could play for a while and then had to go up the mountain to go food shopping... It is a lovely day, so that is a wonderful trip and coming home you can see about 70 miles in the distance.. .so it was very nice... and before I went I got a few cards done... !!!! This is the sketch over on the far left.. and this was my second card... I will show you my first and second one in the other blog...

This was from a pad of black and white paper that I have been 'saving' and finally decided to use it... (I truly don't understand WHY I have to save some sheets of paper... I guess for something special that really never comes along, as each card is really special when it is finished... ) Anyway... I used some of the paper... finally and then punched out some black and red flowers to create the poseys' and then added a pearl in the center... cut out some leaves (free hand) and added them to the card... Love it... very dramatic for me... a few red bows to tie in the red centers on the flowers... and a little Love tag... so much fun...
Now if you have not seen the other ones... please go and take a look see...

Thanks for coming to visit me today... leave a message, join up to follow... and just enjoy.. .

A Little Doodle of Mine for you...

I have been a doodler for years .... way too long to remember when I actually started.. anyway, I can remember my son coming home from School one day and asking me not to doddle on his school papers.. .and I told him to not lay them down where I was sitting ... as I would doodle on them.!!!! So I will doodle on anything that is around me, unless it is in my studio.. then paper is safe and sacred there!!!!

So I doodled so many doodles that I finally decided to publish a few books with SOME of them... there are over 13 books I think... maybe a few more.. .can't really remember... I also published a few more too.. .one with poems written by my Grandfather, a couple of Tea Bag folding books, and Cook books.. where each page is a collage and the recipe is also on that page... what fun I have in my studio.. making all kinds of things..My books can be seen and bought at this address...

http://www.lulu.com/browse/search.php?search_forum=-1&search_cat=2&show_results=topics&return_

Enjoy seeing them all there..

So Back to my doodles.. I took a few, and printed them out to try putting on a few cards... here is the first of them... this doodles name is Butterfly on a plant... so I had to include a butterfly..

This card was used for a couple of challenges.. one was the color combination and then also the one called Clean and Simple... Even though I really didn't follow the theme of that one being a Disney theme... a butterfly is Disney enough... right???

I used my trusty Spellbinders, and also my dotted swiss cuddlebug embossing folder... ( I do have most of the folders... but there are favorites..) The only other thing that I really used here is my outlining gold pen...

But I do want to talk about the butterfly...

How to make one of these... I used a gold outlined sticker.. you can find them in a lot of places... if you have trouble ... please write to me and I will help you.. anyway... you take some Copper mesh screening and burnish it with a heat gun... then put the gold outlined sticker on it, and cut it out... how beautiful it makes both... and it is strong and elegant on any card...

I had to have a butterfly visit this doodle...
Hope you enjoyed this... and thanks again for visiting my Blog... I hope you are enjoying it...

Sunflowers to Warm the Inner being !

Oh yes.. it might be winter out, but there is no harm in thinking warm summer days... in the summer we think of cooler days and in the winter warmer days... what ever is wrong with us... we are never satisfied with the weather... are we..???

Anyway this sunflower thing all started on Monday with Lynn asking in a challenge to create the brush textures of Van Gogh!!!! I was working on a special project (a big secret for right now) and couldnt' get to it until later... but when I did I knew what I was going to do...

So I gather up my stamp... papers and markers and created the card with the Butterfly... (way down at the bottom of this page... these cards don't stay where I want them.. sorry about that..)
The pen strokes are to represent the brush strokes of Van Gogh!!!
I added the butterfly for spice... A quick easy card...

Then on Tuesday, Betty gave a color combination challenge of Rust, Banana, and gray... Oh my goodness... I had to go looking for a piece of gray paper... but I did find one... phew.. thought I would never find it... but I was lucky.. one piece!!!! no mistakes were allowed on this project.. .

So I took the same stamp... as it was still out from last night... (Oh you caught me... I dont' always pick up all the time... just 99% of the time... but that is okay... ) anyway it was still on the acrylic block ( the one I got from Impression Obsession... it is great... the one with the handle) anyway... I got that stamped and then wanted to make it totally different if I could...
I wanted a huge center... one that stuck out to represent the magnificence of the huge sunflowers we have growing... tall ones... 18feet tall... (not kidding either... ) So I thought how perfect it would be to have flower soft all over the center of the flower.. .but I only had white!!!! Well wait a minute.. .I gather that flower soft up, and put some into a little zip lock bag... put in some alcohol inks... (rust of course) and had this really rich brown flower soft.. perfect for the center of my flower... Add some black pearls and what a center I had... now she also asked us to use a charm... so I knew I had a couple of bees.. ( I love insects of all kinds.. on a card) and so I put one of them on... a little bow and it was done... love it...

Of course I used my Spellbinders... where would I be without them... I used one of the label ones... also my dotted swiss embossing folder by Cuddlebug... love them too.. perfect together...

Hope you enjoyed your warm stay here... Thanks for visiting my site...
Have a great day... and create something that you love...

ALL WHITE !!

Okay... before I forget it... please look over at the archives... as I just posted a lot of new things.. It is easier for me to do many postings than one large one... I was ready to go out of my mind with the larger ones.. I just work better this way...

On Split Coast Stampers... they had a challenge to go to a web site and become inspired... so I went to it.. It was called Posh Tots... this was at 2 in the middle of the night... and I had just finished making a few other cards... my purple ones and some others... and I should have gone to bed... but NO... I went and looked... and I became very inspired... and worked for a couple of hours on this one...

I had just finished cutting out all kinds of things with white paper and dies from my Spellbinder sets... so I had a huge pile of goodies to play with... The site had this beautiful baby crib and cradle.. all in whites, and rows of ruffles and all so sweet and delicate.. so I had to use that as my inspiration for this card...

I used the punched out trims, and then also used some of Martha's border and corner punches and finally got the look I wanted... I added some sheets of embossed papers with my cuddlebug folders... and it was starting to come together..

What took me the longest... to get a good picture of this card to post on here and on SCS...... I finally got some black fabric to create the background... and it was the best so far..

I am thinking about doing another card like this, but adding some paper flowers, or maybe some 3D flowers, or maybe painting some with my H2O's... which do you think... ???

Well off to the races.. .Have to work on 10 pages all alike for a Fat Book swap... the theme is Asian and I have the first one done... now for the other 9... I will work on those today... and be ready for the swap...

Thanks for viewing all my work... let me know what you think... and I will read them all... hoping that I can that is.. .with his lovely dial up stuff...

Have great day... enjoy yourself.. and create with all your heart...

The Loves of my ART!!

I love so many things... but have found that sometimes when I combine them all... they just don't look right... but this time I was bound and determined to get a few all on the same card...

So I wanted to get green, purple, 3D, white stamping with coloring technique, paper lace, and using my Spellbinders... Oh I did it...
I made my wreath of 4 layers and put that aside.. (I created that while uploading some cards onto SCS... it takes so long with dial up... so why not create while waiting?? )
Then using a stazon white ink pad, I stamped some flowers (Tapestry stamps) all around the one side of the 5x7 paper.. then I cut the scalloped circle out...
Using my zig memory markers, I colored the flowers and leaves... using multiple colors on all... I made a yellow center for the flowers and then created the accent with the white gel pen.. Which I also used to make little white berry clusters all around... and then I added some vines with lieaves etc... and more gold metallic berry clusters...

I mounted a piece of white paper on the inside of the card... and then put the weath onto that...
with a gingham bow...

A few half pearl accetns... and Happy Birthday written... and the lace paper trim added and the card was finished... love it... have it right here next to the computer... a favorite of mine for this week at least...

I move on and then have another favorite for the next few days...
Things get old pretty quick around here..

Love, Light and Peace.. Bonnie
Still on my purple kick... I needed to really balance out with these colors...

These three little angels are such a beautiful stamp... I think it was from Stampington... For those that know me, I had taken all my stamps off the wood a few years ago to allow for more room in my studio... and so I am still not sure which stamp is from where... But these have always been a favorite of mine.. and although I have made a few cards with this stamp, this is one of the favorites I have made so far with this one...

Details to me are very important on a card... so I did add the four little white dots (white gel pen) in the lower right hand corner... it carries thru the theme of the dots... dots on the stamp, dots on the ribbon, and then again on the corners... Corner and border punches by Martha... who else...

So again a 3 D little girl... a simple card using a few prints.. keeping the main color in mind... not allowing the purples to have too much red or blue in them... keeping the color tones all about the same...

A little ribbon and the one was finished...

I did use the Spellbinder dies for the oval cut matting and my purple dotted ribbon...

One more purple card... will show you in the next one...
Love, Light and Peace.... Bonnie

Purples ! ! ! !

I had been using so many Christmas colors that I need to balance out with something else... so what is my favorite color... yes back to my PURPLES!!!

So here was another stamp that I just never was able to figure out what to do with her... and so I stamped her and cut her out with an oval die using a Spellbinder die oval set... and then I cut all these adorable floral accents out with the die set Floral Accents, from Spellbinders.

I painted a background and mounted her on that... and then added all the floral accents and used some Liquid Pearl by Ranger and she was finished.. .I used about 6 different colors of paint on her gown and of course metallic gold on her wings..
I thought I had a couple of others on here... but they will be on the next one ... sorry about that...

Love, Light and Peace..

Candle of Peace

I saw this card that had been made by another gal on SCS... I love her work.. she is from Sweden and her work is so very clean, exact and lovely... I wanted to create the same type of candle she had on a card... so this is it...

The candle was the simple part... two layers of white paper, and then the circle of ginkgo leaves (embossed with gold and then painted with ... use guessed it... Twinkling H2O's then cut out... ) that creates the lovely circle of peace for me...

The flame was made with 4 layers of paper and then I used diamond gloss to create the glossy look..

I then painted a background paper with my H2o's and used about 6 colors to get the warm loving look of the rich oranges... so heart warming...

Mounted it on the black and then the off white, which I had used a scalloped punch by EK Success... popped that onto the card which was also off white...

Paper beads... I made tons of paper beads about a month ago.. and so I wanted to put them onto this card too.. .so I added some fibers and then added the beads...

I loved the look of the card... do you???

Thanks for viewing my blog... leave me some comments if you choose to.. I will try and answer them to the best of my ability... I am a little blog inept... but am trying to learn more each time I use this...

Love Light and Peace.... Bonnie

Christmas tags !!!

Okay... I really wanted to make some pretty tags, but had so many things that I HAD to get done that tags was not really on the top of the list... but then I read the SCS challenge and had to do some.. the Challenge was to use a background stamp and create a card... so I made my tags...

I used a huge 6x6 stamp to make the green background... and then punched out the stamp with a sizzix die nd then added the paper (dark green) and the ribbon, and heart trim (martha's punch) and THEN I used a flower (Inka Stamp) to create the WOW of this tag... painted some paper with Twinkling H2O's and then stamped and cut out the flower... added some Designer Dimensional Pearls... and wow... I loved it.. .a little ribbon to hang it on the package.. and it was done..

Now one for our son.. he loves Giraffes.... so I knew that I would have to use the giraffe. .so I got out a smaller one and stamped all over the paper with it... useing a coffee Archival ink pad from Ranger... Then using a mustard seed Distress ink pad, I colored the tag... and used a Photo vintage one to the edges... I added a piece of brown paper that I had used a gold metallic gell pen to scribble on... and a piece of gold metallic ribbon.. then cut a larger giraffe out and popped him onto the tag... I gave the giraffe some spots with Designer Dimensional Pearls... and he is beautiful... a little gold ribbon to hang him on the package and they are both ready to be displayed...

I will be able to enjoy these as they are sitting on the packages in my office until after the first of the year when they will be visiting us... I love them...

Winter Wonderland

Winter in North Carolina has just been a little bit cooler weather for the past few years... but this past week we got 12 inches of the white stuff... and so it put my mind into a white theme... and I had to use some white to create the natural life around me...

I also had this stamp for about 5 years and never could come up with a card that satisfied me... but this year, be it the snow or whatever.. I was able to make this card...

1. I stamped the house... and it is a large stamp and was able to do this because of the acrylic block with a handle that I bought from Impression Obsession... I love it... have you seen them.. it allows you to put pressure on with out jumping on the stamp etc... or straining your arms etc.. the handle allows you to get a nice even print... so I used that and got my print.. .100%

I then used my Twinkling H2O's and painted what little color I wanted on it...

2. I then used liquid applique and created the snow around the house and on the trees... and put it aside for a while...

3. Using strips of white scrap.. .I tore it and added some snow to the torn edges... by adding flower soft to the edges... and allowing that to dry while I worked on other areas of the card...

4. I then embossed a piece of white paper with the dotted swiss... cuddlebug folder... and cut a circle out on the far side with my spellbinder circle set... just the right size was there for me, in a flash I had it done the way I wanted to have the page look.. OOOOPS!!!! I did however cut the circle first and then ran it thru the embossing folder... sorry about that...

5. While I still had my spellbinders in my hand, I create a snowflake and put some glitter star dust glue on it... so that it would be ready for the process of getting this card all together...

6. Looking for the perfect color of paper for the background sky... a light gray or maybe a blue... ??? I went with the gray.. as a snowy day is not generally a blue sky day... that is after the storm has passed...

7. Then I was ready to put each layer down and when all glued in place I fell in love with the card... as I had finally gotten the look I wanted to when I first saw this stamp.. YEAH for me...

8. I did add a few touches.. .like a little glitter glue on each candle in every window.. and some glitter on the red bow on the wreath... little things like that give the final touch to a special card... an off white bow and I was very satified with the card...

With Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

Little Sweetheart

Winter in North Carolina has just been a little bit cooler weather for the past few years... but this past week we got 12 inches of the white stuff... and so it put my mind into a white theme... and I had to use some white to create the natural life around me...

So here is Little Sweetheart... she is a 3D item... and has about 6 layers of paper that has been cut out and then popped onto the layer underneath her... It is very 3D when you are holding the card in your hand... but from this view... it looks flat...

I started this card out, with a piece of paper for a 5x7 card... and then I punched the top and bottom out with a Martha Stewart Heart punch... Love those punches... thanks Marie...

Using the Spellbinders scalloped circle, I cut the hole in the center.. and

then added a piece of pink paper on the inside of the card so that the card would be 5x7... (crazy blog... the type just changed??? )

When punching out the edges, I had all these hearts sitting on my workspace... could I throw them out?? NOOOOOO ... so I glued them onto the pink paper... around the edges...
I put a little ribbon on the white prior to gluing it all down and then the little girl was glued down... now for the butterfly...

I used the entire butterfly die set of Spellbinders... cutting each butterfly from a scrap of pink papers found in my pink scrap paper drawer... the bottom one was a piece of paper that I had made with my Twinkling H20's... and the other two were printed papers... and then I glued them down... added some Liquid pearls and it was all done... oh yes... I added some pink dots around the circle... and also some liquid pearls around the top and bottom hearts..

All done...
She is so cute...

With Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

Winter

Finishing up Christmas?

Recycling is a genuine process that we should all follow in every way of our lives on all levels that we live... On Split Coast Stampers one of the challenges was to recycle gift wrap, ribbon and or cards... so I had a few things that I wanted to preserve.... one was this ATC from Sandy Withers, and this ornament from Sarah... I love them both, and knew that they would get lost or damaged in the Christmas things... so I preserved them this way...

Sandy Withers sent me a lovely ATC... and so I took it and made a Gate fold card and put it on the front... Added a little bow and it was a charming and easy way to save this ATC...

But then being me, I had to get a little more detailed and made this card... with the all white mode that I have been in recently...

Well I thought I was finished with Christmas, but I am still working on it in so many ways... I guess with the theme of winter it is never over until I get 100 % into the spring mode of working... which is presenting itself quickly....but I still had a few more things I wanted to get onto paper...

At Splitcoast Stampers site, some of the challenges are so much fun.. and they also gave me an idea on what to do with all the store bought Christmas cards... I even used one handmade item an it was so very pretty I have to share it with you all... this is a poinsettia ornament that was sent to me by Sarah Steinbeck from Pittsboro, NC... It was so lovely... and to put it into the ornaments.. it would get damaged... so I put it into a card... I so save all my special cards and this will be one of them... Anyway... I have been in the white mood recently... Maybe because we got about 12 inches of the white stuff... do you think???

Anyway I punched and embossed a bunch of white papers.. .and then glued and cut holes and did this and that.. and finally came up with this card...

1. I took a piece of paper 6.75 X 5 and punched the sides with a Martha Stewart border and corner punch set... and glued that down onto the 5x7 card...
2.. Embossed a sheet of paper with the dotted swiss embossing folder... and when I ran it thru once, I then matched up the dots and ran it thru again on the opposite side so that I had a 5X7 piece of embossed paper... large enough to trim so that it would fit inside the border sheet... and I glued that down...
3. Then I cut the circle out with a colluzle... because it you use your spellbinders circle die, you will squash all the dots... I know as I did that the first time...
4. After the circle is cut out, I then cut another circle out to make the 'wreath' for around the circle...
5. Cut as many 'corner' punches out and then trim so that they fit around the circle and then glu them into place...
6. Glue this circle into place...
7. Final touch... with Liquid pearls from Ranger, put dots all around it...

Okay.. the front of the card it done...
8. Then I hung the ornament from the inside and taped it really securely... and then put another piece of white cardstock with the circle cut out... and the card was finished..

Two days in a Whirl of Creation

On Monday of this Holiday week, there was a challenge with a new technique... making a small bird house... I was so happy I could download the pattern... so many times the PDF is way to large and being on dial up limits the intake... so I was happy that not only I could get the pattern, but was also happy that I could send it to one of the gals on SCS also... as her printer is broken and she was frustrated that she could partake in the challenge...

Anyway... here are the four little houses I made.. each one was fun and as I progressed in making them, each one became more detailed... what else is new???

The first one was with Martha Stewart Paper... Marie gave me a pad of paper last year for my birthday... and I hadn't used it until this year... I love the pad Marie and THANKS again.. this little Golden house was two of the prints...the one that I made the actual house from, had little birds on it... but when putting the pattern onto it, I forgot to see where the birds were going... oh well, it came out cute anyway... a little bird on a perch and some roofing trim using a Martha Stewart punch...

This one is actually the last one I made...(* I am havig trouble with trying to understand how to get the pictures on this blog into the place I want them... sorry about that..)

I made the little house, and then wanted to dress up the roof, so I took some paint chips... you know the ones that you find in Lowe's in the paint section.. the ones that are FREE!!! I punched out a bunch of them.. and then added a door of WELCOME... and some windows.. but then I got a little carried away, and had this little tree that I had made sitting there... and added that too..

This tree I made using Ellen's Templates... from Some Assembly Required... they are so very tiny... and arduous... that I only made two and tried another part of it... I think I will return that to Ellen, and say THANKS... but just can't take all the small pieces... It is a beautiful kit, but not for me...

So that one was finished...
I call this one the Triangle house... as it is made from a piece of paper that is all triangles... triangles of all Christmas designs... and so cute... I used a corrugated piece of paper that came from a cracker packing... and painted that with ... You guessed it... Twinkling H2O's... Added a heart door, some roof trim and someone moved right in!!!!

The white dots around the heart were done with a white gel pen...

This little house is the Valentine house, for very obvious reasons... I had to do one with hearts... I made the house first, and then used a sheet of paper that I had done reverse inking on thru the cuddlebug folders... hearts and for the roof, the one with pebbles... I drew some plants growing up the side of the house... with of course heart flowers.. and a heart door... and again some one moved right in... these little houses are so cute on the tree, or a package, or anything that your heart desires.. they are quick little projects and depending on the details can be done in a few minutes...

I joined another challenge also this week.. called the Stampin B's... not really sure about this one, as I can't really figure out where the other cards are??? I am so out of touch with this blogging stuff... give a nice web site anytime!!!! I do so much better with that... but this is fun.. getting out of the box again!!!

The theme of this challenge was to make a card with a beverage on the front... For those of you who know me.. I drink about 99% water... so a beverage??? Tea maybe.. so I colored a teapot and cup to sort of match and added some paper pricking, to act as a table cloth, and of course a border of cuddlebug embossing.. the Green floral is flocked paper... so the texture on this card is great... The bow and charm were added to the green and metallic trim.. (which I bought at Walmart on night... didn't know for what... but found it and used it last night on this card... )

Okay... this card was really the card I used for the Tea Pot Tuesday Challenge... each week the hostess, who this week was Marilyn Prestonn aka Peggy Elms, created a precious story of the Rodent family having a party ... it was to be a huge party with animals of all kinds invited.. there was going to be a punch made from Spider egg milk and all kinds of other goodies, that the Critters would all love... ??? Anyway every one was invited... so my thread of the story went with something like this...

You see inside the Rodents house the younger ones were put down for a nap… but being little… they had to get up to see what all the noise was… so they quietly went down the stairs… and low and behold… there was little Master Rodent.. sitting on top of a Bell … and the bell was making so much noise that it woke them up… there were candy canes all over the floor and it was a mess… but they started to laugh and went down to help him get out of the tree… so that they could all have a nice Candy cane.!!!

What fun…

Anyway… I used my trusty Spellbinders on this one… and wove some satin ribbon thru the frame… and used the same ribbon for the ties… Of course Master Rodent is a House Mouse.. and the other stamps I really am not sure of.. I used Twinkling H2O's by Dreaming in Color to color in the bell and greens… and also the front of the card stamp… Also used a white gel pen for the dots… and most of the stamped areas are pop dotted.. a fun card for a child.. .and I know who is going to be getting it… he will love it…

Thanks again … Merry Christmas to all of the Rodent Family and Friends…

Now he is still carving, and more than ever, but on really special pieces that he wants to do... so here is a picture of his most recent work of ART... the Turtle!!! I made this card for him... and hope he doesn't see this blog... hopefully he is too busy with Christmas orders... and will not go on line.... keeping fingers crossed.. .anyway, I wanted to combine his work and mine together... for a nice card... I added the candy canes as a sweet gesture!!!! The paper is from K and Company Christmas pad.. Love that pad of very versatile Christmas papers...

*******************************************

I still don't totally understand how to use this blog... I have to start at the end and then work forwards... to the beginning??? I am not use to that, and also can't move the pictures to where I want them either... so you will have to be patient with me on this one... The owl picture was suppose to be up here... but it is down there... Oh well .. so be it...

The owl card was posted for the Tea Pot Tuesday challenge, but I had done it a couple of days ago... I had a painted piece of paper (Yes my trusty Twinkling H2O's... and the I ran it thru a cuddlebug folder... While I was doing that, my mind was working... and I was this really cute owl folder... and wanted to use that one too??? Oh well I ran that thru with some white paper... and started to cut it out.. I mounted it yet on another cuddlebug background... the dotted swiss... and then made some faux feathers by cutting some paper... and adding them to the collage of cuddlebug papers... Then added my sentiment... of PEACE.. and was done...

This week the Color combination was very difficult for me at first... the colors were way too bold and all together very 'clashing' to my eye... but I worked out of the box and gathered my papers and started to work on some cards... I came up with two... for this challenge... and the third was really for two challenges combined.. Clean and Simple and also the color combination..

Anyway.. .the colors... Crushed Curries, Real Red, and Sahara Sand... oh my goodness... well Betty who was the hostess does really nice cards, so I gave it a try... Above the second card... I used an old magenta stamp... that I really didn't like that much... I am trying to figure out ways to use stamps that I haven't liked prior... again getting out of the box that feels so very comfy and trying new things...

I stamped it and then using my Twinkling H2O's I painted it... and then I didnt' want the butterfly in the center of the stamp, so I cut that out, and added an Inkadinkado flower... used the center of the frame (you will see about that in the next card.. ) and put that behind the Inka flower... popped the flower after I had painted and cut that out... Mounted the entire piece onto a Black cardstock and added trim at the bottom, prior to mounting... Voila' a finished card...

This is the one that I did for the two challenges... it is really very simple... and yet got the most compliaments of all??? I do like it, but not better than the other two... ??? Oh well, this all goes to show you that not everyone thinks alike or even likes the same things at ALL!!!!

I used some K and Company paper (Gold Holly Leaf which is found in the Christmas pad) and then used a simple pine branch stamp and colored the pinecones in with Zig Memory markers... added the red dots to the edge after I had cut and mounted onto Spellbinders ovals.... plain and scalloped... Added the tiny red bow... and done...

I am almost out of red ribbon... so I guess that will have to go onto my next ribbon order...
This card took me the longest time to create, of all three of these.. I wanted to use a flower, as I am sort of overdone with all the Christmas themes... so I chose this Amarilis with the bulb... a little on the wintery side, but still a flower... and then using the backing of a package from a Cuddlebug folder, I cut out the black glossy frame!!! Waste not, want not... it is nice and sturdy and FREE!!! Added the tan background, and also added some Filigree from a Fleur di lis spellbinder set... and a couple of dew drops that were clear, and I used my sharpies to color them... a little tag to show some movement and a bow... and it was called done!

Hope you and your family all have a wonderful Merry Christmas and enjoy every minute of this glorious season of Love...

So Much to Share

A challenge on Split Coast Stampers this week was to create something using Gold and/or silver... so I choose to make some tags/ornaments out of shiny gold paper... I loved this.. I cut some paper using a Martha Stewart corner punch and then cut the corners down, so that I could glue them onto a circle... I created the little ornament on the right... then I used the Lattice pendant to create the other one... they both had a little white circle added that had been stamped with Tapestry stamps... just to add a little Christmas color... of course a bow using metallic gold ribbon and red ribbons... and they were ready to use in less than 30 minutes... I love making these... and have them on all my packages... what a pleasure it is to have nice looking tags on gifts that you have made... a real pleasure...

On Saturday of every week, Split Coast Stampers has a challenge of going to a site, that is given to you... and becoming inspired by the work of that artist to create something of your own... Well this week it was stationery... and there was some really pretty pieces there... I was inspired to create quite a few pieces... loving every minute of it... off and on all day long.. I would make a Christmas ball as a present and then go back and make another card... all day long.. What a fun day... We had a snow storm on Friday, and got about 12 inches if not a little more of the white stuff... so I was happy to be able to play all day long and get some things done for Christmas presents that were long over due... It was a fun day... and follow on down and look at some of the other cards I got made... This card was a fun one to do... As I love drawing leaves, love cutting out anything... and so it was 100% pleasurable.. I used all scraps of green papers, and then mounted onto the octagonal patterned paper... added a bow and loved it... now I can add a small message when I decide to use the card... and it will then be done.

Another challenge card was created by using a stamp ( Angel stamp on the left) that I think I bought over 5 years ago... never really liked it, as when I stamped it there was so much ink from the stamping that it was too much... so I just never really knew what to do with it... do you have stamps like that??? Well I used a white gel pen and 'colored' over the black areas of the stamp... then using a marker I colored the color desired... it came out the way I like things to be... realistic and also pretty... the little girls hair was all black... and by adding the white, I was able to make her a dark blond, by using the yellow and a couple of brown makers... The evergreen branch was also black... and now is realistically green.. .then I used my Twinkling H2o's to paint the rest of the stamped area... Then into the spellbinder circle to make the ornament... I made the top of the ornament with one of the little dies from the Fleur di lie die set... perfect ... cut out of metallic shiny gold paper.. The border was created with one of Maratha's newest punches...

Every once in a while you get to a place where you are using the same colors over and over... and you don't change... that is called living in a RUT... so I got out of my box today... and chose to work in some other areas as well... these colors are must about at the end of the road for me... I just don't use them together.. so why not try... the one picture that was an inspiration was in yellow and black and also the daisies... so the daisies attracted me and the colors pushed me away at first... but then I had to choose this as a challenge in a few ways... drawing the daisies was not a problem, but using the colors was.. but I did it.. .and I think it came out pretty good... so a hump was achieved for me in that way... I am happy... I also scored the background into diamonds using just my Fiskars personal trimmer, with the little black tool (v.s the little orange cutter) and it came out great... And of course my new Martha Stewart Border punch... love it... love my punches...

Another fun challenge card... this one was really one of the first I did to reflect this challenge... it was a picture of thistle in turquoise and limes.. so very pretty with a brown background... not something that I would put in the background... so I chose this one again to get out of the box, and grow a little bit more...

I added the paper lace with a new punch from Martha Stewart... (My dear friend Marie, enabler, is always getting me these great Martha Stewart punches, as the stores are all so far away from me... and so when I go to my stamp group meeting it is like going shopping!!! I always can pick up my newest purchases from Marie... thanks Marie for being so gracious in always getting these for me.. ) the corners were done with a Fiskars corner punch and then punched out with a photo corner punch... I love the effects of this one... a nice bow, made with my new bow maker that Cheryl sent me.. thanks again Cheryl.. So I guess I grew a little as I would be able to add this yummy brown bazzill paper to a lot more colors now...

We always give the mail something for Christmas... and I was really stumpted this year... I have given him so many paintings of fish, that I have
created with Fred Mullet stamps... and then painted with Twinkling H20's... and decided that this year I would have to do something different... He is an avid fisherman, but how many pictures of fish can you hang up in your fishing cabin??? So I decided to create a Fishermans Christmas ball.. and called it the Christmas Fish... and wrote a little story about how the Christmas fish can only be caught on Christmas Day and that is why he has never seen it... and then I created a card to reflect the story as well.. Thanks Cheryl for the glittery mesh on the left of the card.. it was perfect... I knew I would use it for something from the sea... it was perfect..

Hope you have enjoyed the views today... and hope you will become a follower.. thanks and enjoy your day to the fullest..make some cookies and sit back and relax... what a beatiful day it is...

Up early and ready to play...

The day started off a little on the early side, but I was up and ready to go... so I started the old computer up and found out what the challenge was today... Toy was hosting the Sketch challenge today and it is a GREAT sketch... so I started to think about it while I took care of all my mail... then got started... decided that it would be a good sketch for the Asian Fat Book Page that is due in January... so I tried one out... it went together fast... and since I have to do about 10 or so... this would be a good one... I would have to make all the background papers as they are all painted with my trusty Twinkling H2O's... but that is not a problem for me, as I love to use them...

I did choose a paisley blue paper for the background of this page, but know that I will have to change that... but I do like the page, and it might work .... will have to wait and see... the meaning of the page is a very learned lesson for us all.. the Asians dont' go fishing... they let the fish come to them... a mediation while 'fishing' is being done... a very meaningful thought to ponder... I have written that along the center strip... Let the Fish come to you!!!!

I then decided that I had better clean the house... as the dust bunnies were getting anxious to go out and play... so I did part of the house... then had to come and take a break... (most of the afternoon) in the studio.... had to play some more... so I sat down and started to work on this Pink and white card.. the Pink floral paper I bought a long time ago.. and like so many pieces of paper I SAVE it for a special time... most of the time.. that never happens... so about a year ago, I decided to use anything that I wanted... no specials at all.. so this paper got chosen today to play with... I love the flowers... and so I duplicated them by making some of my own, with punches... and added them to the card... I really would have liked to add a butterfly, but it would have been a little too much.. .

Then I had to make a few other cards... I had never made a snowman card with the 'ruffles' of velum coming down the hill... so I had a lot of fun doing that... and I also found this lovely Magenta stamp that I bought from Cathy K.. .now in Arizona... and decided to use that and make a pocket card with it... Thanks Cathy the stamp is lovely... I love it... and even though it took me over an hour to paint it with my twinkling H20's... I love it.. think I will do another one... but not today... have a few more Asian thoughts I would like to get out onto paper prior to dinner being made...

So it has been a fun filled day... should clean a little bit more, but will wait until the mood strikes me again..

Have a super great day, and create something special for someone, and enjoy what you are creating... it will show in the project and the person you give it to will also feel it...

Tuesday, a busy day on Split Coast Stampers

A busy day on Thursdays at Split Coast Stampers, as there are so many fun challenges... and today was no exception... a fun morning...

The first challenge was Color Combination... and for this week it was a moss green, a mango, and pink... so I had fun.. even though I am not familiar with the color names etc... I looked at the other cards and chose what was as close as I could...

The Pear and stars card was the first... I had this dream about this card and created it when I got up... the stars are all painted with this gold powder that Chris gave to me... it turns into this beautiful gold paint... just a little goes a LONG way...
I only loaded my brush a few times to do all that gold painting... amazing stuff.. will have to find out what it is and how to get some.

I then layered all the papers, stamped and painted the pear with my Twinkling H2O's... and then added the bow... which is pink with black polka dots!!! not the reddish hue that it looks like??? oh well.. moving along.

The next Challenge was the Tuesday's Teapot challenge... and I thought this would be fun... as I would send in a recipe for the tea party too... but mine would be a raw cookie recipe... I think some of the gals will enjoy it, if they choose to make it... here it is..

Freezer Cookies

1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup favorite nut
1 large banana
1 red or golden delicious apple
1/4 cup raisins

Soak sesame seeds and raisins, about 3 or 4 hour each. Soak the nuts 12 hours.

Process the ingredients in a food processor or blender until homogenized (mixed thoroughly together in one pasty blend).

Spread in a pan or dish and freeze.

Can be cut up like cookies or fudge squares. Eat frozen. This can also make ice cream sandwiches. Use frozen banana ice cream inside the sandwich.

To make the ice cream... you can puree the banana until all smooth, and then add what ever your favorites are, like nuts, chocolate, etc... then put into the freezer...

When ready to enjoy, you take a couple of the cookies, and some banana cream and make a nice little sandwich... so yummy... and it is healthy...

So this card is for all the little girls in us that love to eat this kind of thing... sweet and delicate as it is...

This card also went into the color combination challenge as the colors are all here too... the mango is on the gem stone on the hup two's hat...

This card was just to do, to replace the card I sent out that was similar to this one... I love the pink and white, and the painted flowers on either side... so delicate and sweet looking... the flowers are painted with Twinkling H20's.. what else.. my very favorite paints...

I also love this dotted swiss embossing folder... it is becoming more and more a favorite of mine... I think I use it at least once a day on something...

Hope that you have a creative and happy day... and that you create many masterpieces today and everyday...

Last night I watched a show on TV about Susan Boyle and To Dream a Dream... what a beautiful person she is in so many ways... wow... to be able to do what she has done in a years time...

Very amazing and wonderful... so remember to Dream a Dream and it will become true...
