Well this week is another Zendala fun time.... I love this one Erin...
it is super great... and I had a blast doing it too.... By the way, have a good walk this week-end.. I will be thinking of you..
Okay... as for this challenge... it is over at Bright Owl.. (Erin's site) and it is a good one.. all of them are... they set my brain into a tizzie over what to do... what kind of story to put to paper, what tangles to use... oh that will be good here... and this one here ... and ohhhhh look at this one.. where can I use that... and is it going to fit into my story line???
Oh well.. here is my zendala...
The story is FALL IS IN THE AIR...
I can feel it.. it is on the way... the berries are on the
dogwood trees... there are a few leaves that are turning yellow..and people are starting to do fall things... like collect firewood, etc... so this zendala is all about that...
On the top square is a sun... the sun is so glorious over the mountains... and they all look purple in the evening hours... so very pretty... and going clock wise.. you will see all the plants... still all wonderfully green... new seeds and growth every day... a great time in the south to start to grow all the greens... like kales, broccoli, sweet peas, etc.... so I gave some space for all these to grow.. but people are working towards collecting firewood for the warmth they will need for the cooler winter months... we heat 100% with wood... and most of the people around us do too... so the wood collection is very important...
Then there is a quilt... you need to air them out... get them all nice and fluffy for the cold winters night.... oh so warm and comfy under a nice quilt... then.. the next square... all the yummie canned goods are on the shelves... ready to be eaten .... all with neat little labels on them...
Oh yes... can't forget the ode to the GREAT SUNFLOWER.... love them.... so do the birds all winter long... we grind up all the plants from the sunflowers and use them for mulch on plants... and the chickens love to scratch in the mulch too... to see if one forgotten seed is to be found...
What would fall be with out the beautiful orangness of the pumpkins laying in the fields... waiting to be picked for that special Pumpkin pie... or how about pumpkin soup... and muffins... oh my mouth is watering... and the okra... what southerner doesn't love that delicious veggie... I love them raw, cooked, steamed, in soups... and everything in between... and then how about pickled... oh yes... love that too... and have you ever watched a spider create a web??? Last year we had one make one right outside of our dining room window... and I loved to watch her repair her web from a windy night... or spin more fiber around a freshly caught bug... so very interesting... so that is my zentangle... a trip in the fall around here... and hopefully at your home too..
Hope you have a fun time creating this wonderful zendala that Erin has given to us to use... Thanks also for stopping by and for all the lovely comments that you are all leaving... I love reading each and every one of them... you warm my heart... I hope that someday I will be able to stop by your blog and leave a comment so I can give back to you...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
Extremely nice Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteI love the stories you tell with your tangles - just lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the zendala and all the reasoning behind your tangles! This was great! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Zendala and great commentary.
ReplyDeleteGreat zendala and some fabulous tangles in there!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you tried different patterns in each square. They are all so beautifully done! The border is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteYou make zentangle a form of poetry! I love the stories and the tangles! Being a southern girl myself, I find them especially nice.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to hear all about your fall preparations, and your zendala illustrates it all so well. Here the fall (well autumn as we Brits call it!) is mostly wet leaves, cold, wind and rain, the "annual argument" with my OH about when to switch the central heating on - and no public holidays until Christmas - not that they make much difference to me where I live. Yours sounds much more cheerful!
ReplyDeleteLovely. I really like the border you added.
ReplyDeleteuuuuuu lovely ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is spectacular, I loved reading all about it too.
ReplyDeleteI've had okra most ways but I've never eaten it raw! I may have to try that :)
Beautiful!
Love your rendition of the Dare, and the lovely story you wrote. I especially like how you framed the original Dare with that lovely boarder. Always a pleasure to come to your blog and see what you're up to.
ReplyDeleteGreat zendalastory. Thank you for sharing this with us. I like how you put the names of the tangles in the corners!
