Double Sharing and Proud of it all...

Logo of Freehand Custom Carving
Sharing is part of having a blog... and also part of our lives together on the face of Mother Earth... it is also part of being a MOM...

Our son, Brett and his wife Casey are with us for a visit and we are enjoying each and every minute of this glorious time together...  Brett is also carrying on the family traditions of being an artist .... with one exception... he has always been an artist...   from the time he was a little boy...   he presently has his studio on his organic farm in North Western NJ  (Sussex county)  where he was born and has lived since that time... His logo above is one of the examples of his many talents... oil painting... and creating his thoughts into art of special values for all to view and part take of...

Some of the loves of his life, other than Casey.... his lovely partner and wife...  are Giraffe's...  He has been commissioned by Toy R Us to do quite a few for their corporate offices...  but just look at the detailing in this giraffe... REMEMBER that this is done with a CHAIN SAW!!!

He is doing some detailing sanding on the giraffe... getting it ready for the final stages of create the entire image...
Every piece of work is not only detailed, but the love of what he has created is totally visible in all ways...

Every thing that Brett has ever made, is filled with his loved for life and art...
He has just expanded his line of sculptures into the furniture lines...  He still has tons of bears, and all kinds of critters to purchase in his extensive gallery... but these are for your enjoyment to use in your home...

Of course his love for nature and life are in each piece..
How Special is this unique piece...  I would LOVE to have this in my home... what a wonderful way to experience a special piece of art...
A vision of wood is one aspect of life... but each one of these unique pieces are all crafted from timber that has been taken to the stump dump... and Brett has brought it home to turn it into something special for YOU...

I love to share and also hope that you have enjoyed this small view into our sons life too... He has always had a very special place in a lot of peoples hearts...  hope that you will also look him up on Facebook,      or on his web site...
to keep up with some of his activities...  They generally go to UK and Scotland at this time of year... but have decided to stay at home a little more this year...  and we are glad to have them with us at this time of the year...  as it is Brett's Birthday month... and we all wish him a Happy Birthday...  36 years young...  Can I remember back to that age??? Doubt it... but hey it must have been fun... as I am still having all kinds of fun...

So this week I have a few things to share with you too...  I have been playing and creating even though I have a house full of fun... I find that while I am waiting for everyone to take  shower, or waiting for water to boil for the pasta, or even sitting at the table talking... like we love to do for hours... my hands are always going at it.... creating something... even making cookies for snacks for everyone to enjoy...  we all gave up eating wheat... so I make a really great gluten free cookie... if you are interested in the recipe, write to me and I will mail it to you...

Anyway... I was so taken with the Diva's Challenge this week and it was such a GREAT tangle that Margaret Bremmer created that I played and played and played with it....  so much fun... can you tell......  ????
On this one, I created a string to follow and then started to play... I was talking and listening to our families conversation and my pencil did the rest... I didn't have my trusty pen with me...  and this was done on the back of an envelope!!!  When we got home, I inked it...  I really had fun with it... and didn't erase any of the pencil at all...  just left it to be seen....  But I did add some more graphite to the tile...

I just had to do one with all Copada.... and turned them into this wreath... and cut out the center... it will go into my Zendala journal...  Love this way of playing with the copada... a lot of fun... thanks Margaret...

I did a few more, but just sort of ran out of time...  so maybe when I show my journal pages you will see them...

This week on The Bright Owl's Zendala challenge we are to do a New type of zendala... and Mono dala... using only one tangle... wow that is a change... but a challenge is a challenge... so I put it into my thinking and this is what I created...

I used Fescu and loved doing this really simple little zendala...

I did use  a regular #2 pencil to shade with.. as I was  trying to do a lot of things all at the same time...  So maybe later I will have time in the day to play with this a little more...

We have been having fun this week with our son.. .and the day is young here yet...  only  noon... so who knows what we will do for the rest of the day...

Thanks for stopping in for a visit... and also for all the lovely comments that you all made during the week... I totally love all the great comments and also the fact that I am getting to know each and every one of you in a more intimate way... and LOVE it all... thanks for all you do for me in this direction...  Hope you all have a wonderful week-end...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
