Twinkle, Twinkle Halloween

BOO !!!
Happy Halloween is right around the corner...
and here we are at Altered Alice doing it for the whole month...  YEAH...  so much fun...

CHAPTER 20: Twinkle like a Bat, Shine like a Tea Tray!

...it was at the great concert given by the Queen of Hearts, and I had to sing "Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!How I wonder what you're at!"You know the song, perhaps?' `I've heard something like it,' said Alice. `It goes on, you know,' the Hatter continued, `in this way:-- "Up above the world you fly,Like a tea-tray in the sky.Twinkle, twinkle--"'-- Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Right-click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet.Just like the Mad Hatter's song, we want you to create something that twinkles or shines; bats are optional! Think bling, metal, glitter, mirror card; the possibilites are endless! Some of the design team will be using some very unusual Alice-inspired designs. Just like you dress up for Halloween and take on another persona, these racy images have Alice and other characters all grown up and taking a walk on the wild side!

Our sponsor this month is Smeared Ink, home of edgy, wild and fun designs in rubber and digital forms has released a Wonderland Collection; images are available individually or as a set. The randomly-chosen winner of this month's challenge will receive a $15 shopping spree in their online store.

Enter your project by Friday, October 25 for a chance at the shopping spree. As always, multiple entries are encouraged (after all, this is a monthly challenge) but each entry must be on a separate post. All projects that meet the challenge criteria are welcome, but entries that feature Wonderland will have two chances with each project entered instead of one.

So in order to have Halloween come here... I had to have a pumpkin!!!  So I made one with paper.. .

I wanted my pumpkin to be a special kind of moving pumpkin... but I also wanted it to look like  ribbed pumpkin... with nice leaves and long vine hanging from it..
I wanted all kinds of leaves on the top... and a nice stem...

As a small child, I always wanted a nice stem on the pumpkin to hold...  once the pumpkin was cut open and you wanted to put the top back on it... you needed a nice stem...

So the pumpkin has 4 sides that open... and each one of the panels shows you a GREAT digital image from our sponsor this month...

You can peek under each panel to see a different Halloween scene... aren't these just great???

Alice is really having some effects from the Mushroom!!!

But what fun I had adding all kinds of colors to the mushroom with stickles... this pumpkin is one glittery pumpkin...

Twinkle, Twinkle...

Also Alices' little bottle and box with a piece of cake are all glittlery too...
As you can see, each panel is totally glittery and twinkling...

Alices' hat, and the skulls eye sockets are all glittlery too..  The bones on the table cloth might look pink... but they are a crystal glitter...

So wish these pictures showed the pumpkin and the pictures real to life...

The roses, and the Queen's dress are all a glitter too...
What a sexy Queen...

 And check out this one...

The Cheshire Cat is really all a glitter too...  with a full moon added with a little glitter.   wow... love the look of this one...
I have shown you these digital images alone... but each one is in a separate section of the pumpkin...  and the reason for that, is that each one has eyes cut out so that when in the section, they will look like this one... I have not been able to capture the eyes on camera... but this one did show up...

Under the pumpkin, I have a little box... and a votive light...  which lights up the entire pumpkin as each section is opened up.. .

I had so very much fun with these digital images and making the pumpkin...  Halloween will be special this year...  Glenn is going to love these digital images...  that is for sure.

  3. Bonnie, this is totally INCREDIBLE!!!! I snitched a couple more images from your blog - saved them to my photos so you are not taking the hit. You have such an amazing imagination. The post is out a day late, thougtht I'd be able to do it on my iPad for the first time but it was a nightmare, so I finished it up today on the regular computer.

  4. Hi Bonnie:
What type of paper did you use on the pumpkin??

    1. Wow Kim... I used a lot of different ones... the base of the pumpkin is a light cardboard... and then I used the same on the panels that lift up... but Orange on the outside is a light cardstock... between a bazill weight and a computer print out paper...

BUT the trick with any paper that you are going to make it 'bend' like that is to break it first... there are tools that make this really easy... they are called stylists... and it is like a big ball point pen... I used a large size one to break this paper and then it will be easy to create with..

When I had the paper all soft... I folded each piece of the panel and then stapled it to the light weight card board...it also gave way to allowing the panel to be moved up and down...

      Hope this helps you...
I would love to see how you make out... but I am on dial up and the picture has to be really really small... like around 350 pixels... MAX...

      Have a great day...
      Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
