So here is the tag...
BLUE ON BLUE
This background is made using Distress inks and stamps by Tim... then I used a die cut to create the butterflies.. and I will tell you all about that in a second...
I love butterflies and wanted a stencil with a TIM butterfly... so I took a piece of plastic from a package and die cut it with the Butterfly...
This was my new STENCIL...
I could use my textured paste and create all kinds of butterflies... I think I spent a whole day... making butterflies and painting them too... but what fun it is.. I LOVE BUTTERFLIES...
Okay... so I cut about 40 butterflies out of paper... and then while I was waiting for the texture paste to dry I colored some butterflies... a little ink right from the mini ink pads... perfect... and then some distress pens and a white pen... makes really lovely butterflies... I doubled them up... to make it look like they are flying...
So one of the butterflies landed on a tag that I had crackled... And that tag is in a pocket... on the edge of the pocket, I took some tissue paper of Tim's... Music score and made a ruffle from a strip of the tissue paper... just gathered it onto some red line tape... love that stuff too... holds just about everything where you desire it to STAY...
Put a little dyed ribbon and hung an enameled word plaque and then used some Remnant rub ons for the words and butterflies... Okay... another yeah... I love these little rub ones... I love them especially for little books... and also for small little areas where you want to add a word... like on this enameled plaque... there are two butterflies and also the words FLY AWAY... all on a little tiny tag... how wonderful is that...
So once the tag is out... you can see it is crackled... it had some really huge air bubbles... and so I had to let it dry too long for the project I was working on... so it went into a pile of use later things... and here it is... with a huge white butterfly on it... with some texture paste... I didn't smooth the butterfly out... I love them sort of rough looking and very textured...
The little blue butterfly is layered and both are painted with the mini ink pads and then some black and white ink pens...
a closeup...
Using the stencil I made from the die cut, I created a bunch of white butterflies... and they needed some coloring... so here is one... the coloring is done with distress pens and a waterbrush and then straight distress pens for the stronger lines...
Just so you can see the texture on these butterflies... love it.. nice and chunky...
Well that is it for now... hope you all have a wonderful evening, and a great day... play with full gusto and enjoy it all..
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope to see you soon..
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
Terrific tag! Such an imagination! I spent some time in the backyard this afternoon, photographing Swallowtailed butterflies. I had no idea that sometimes the female will adapt itself to look like a Pinevine Swallowtail (which is poisonous to birds to some degree and makes them very sick - the birds tend to remember not to go after the black ones!). I found this out after I took a photo and wanted to find out what type of butterfly it was. I hope to do something with the photos in the near future.
