Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all Dad's out there...  Being a Father takes a special person...  and there are so many GREAT Father's out there...  I know that I have one here... my hubby... a Great Dad... and also a sweet and loving husband...

I have made Glenn a couple of things with this picture this week... as it is one of his favorite pictures of him and his other 'sons'... his horses...  he will always have them in his heart...

We lost one prior to moving south... and the older one died here on our farm...  they were Gentle
 Giants...

Anyway... this project is for two challenges... one is a new one for me... Over at Sarah-Engels Greer site...with her Mojo Monthly Challenge...  check it out... a fun and exciting place to visit...  I have been looking for some more challenges and someone said that she had  a monthly one... so I joined in with this project...  The theme... is Manly Man....  so I made this...  Sarah had made a really unique one too...  with a hinge... Love it... so great... hopefully she will get some more sardine cans to make a little trunk..
I, too, covered my tin with embossed foil tape... and then used Oregano and Lettuce greens to color the leaves... as these horses were used as Logging horses on selective environmental logging contracts...  so the leaves were a must...    Then I started to do other things... like the plaid paper made with alcohol inks... and then the rose on the top...  the Plaid paper is similar to my hubbies favorite plaid shirt...  and the rose... well he loves to make new roses plants... and they are the old timey roses... so they are so wonderful... the smell and the color is magnificent...  we both love them...
I used the Turn Key as a reminder of turning back time!!!  Wish we really could... I would love to be 20 again and know what I know now!!! Wouldn't you???  Yikes... what a blast I would have...

Anyway... the little hands are to represent the gloves and the hard work Glenn did back then... not that farming is easy... but hey... the logs were huge... and so were these boyz... each horse was approx 2500 pounds!!!  Just getting their harnesses on was a days work!!!

Well... I am also putting this into the Sunday Stamper... as Hels also has a Men/Male theme... so this worked out GREAT....  Thanks for stopping by for a visit today... and have a super nice day with family, friends and all...  Enjoy your time with the Dad in your life...  Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

  1. Bonnie this is amazing, I love working with sardine tins too but thought it was just me! Saw Sarah's too and loved it. I really like what you have done with the metal tape and the key looks great on the side. Fabulous.
