The Boyz

Today over at Studio L3 Linda has said to make a Watch.... a la Tim Style...
So I went to page 35 and even though I have made about 6 of these I read the page... just to make sure I was going to do it correctly...  I love these watches... everyone in our family got one at Christmas in their stocking...  LOL.. they were fun to make and everyone has it in a special place...

Today I wanted to make something for my sweet hubby for Fathers day... and so I did the watch with a picture of him and his BOYZ... his boyz as we called them were two Belgium draft horses that he used for logging when we lived in the Northeastern  part of the USA...  The Horses names were Pinkie and Tony... they were not a 'matched' pair but they were truly brothers in so many ways....
We had to have Tony put down and for over a week Pinkie whinnied and had tears running down his face for a long time...
So these two 'babies' called the BOYZ were truly brothers and so much a part to our lives... Pinkie moved with us from NJ to NC... he was a very special horse and finally spent his last days here on our farm...  He was always willing to go the extra mile for Glenn...  and so what needed to be done...
SOoooo I felt that I had to do a page in honor of these two BOYZ in my large journal... so this is it...

I used all kinds of special papers on the background that have very deep meanings for us... the magnolia paper is in memory of the magnolia tree that my hubby planted for me on my first Mothers Day .... I sat in the kitchen nursing our dear little daughter as he planted it!!!  When we left NJ it was the only thing that I felt we really left behind...  my magnolia tree...

The Sheet Music might seem odd... but when you hear the horses coming our road to our house it was music to my ears... for many reasons... I knew that Glenn was coming home, and also our son who was at that time logging with his Dad... and also that the boyz would get a mid day snack... they LOVED carrots.. and I always had an extra 1 pound bag for them...  Each horse was over 2300 pounds each... so they made a one pound bag seem like nothing...  LOL...
ENJOY THE JOURNEY  stamp... I had to use this ... as we use to take the horses for a 'walk' once in a while...  we would get onto the backs of them and ride for hours... it was like riding on a sofa... we didn't have saddles, as you didn't need them... these boyz didn't go fast when they had us on their backs... it was a slow and easy walk...

The memories of them is very fond... and we both miss them greatly... someday maybe we will have another pair of horses that will help with chores around the farm...
Keeping our options open... and hearts open until we get another pair...

The 'diamonds' above their heads in the watch... is to say that they were precious spirits that were with us for as long as we owned them... they were part of our family and loved by all that saw them... they loved to par take in parades, special events and loved to have kids put on their backs so that the parents could take pictures... they were truly Gentle Giants in all ways...  If you look closely at the picture you will notice that my hubby looks very short next to these horses... he is 6 foot tall...  so you can see how LARGE these two boyz are!!!  Gentle Giants plus... in all ways...

Hey... thanks for stopping by today... and also for all the lovely comments and e-mails that ya'll have been sending... I love them all...  I can answer the e-mails... but not the comments...  dial up is slower than ever...  about ready to drive us over the edges...  LOL...
Have a great week-end... I am teaching a class tomorrow and am excited about it... I love to share new techniques and ways to play with others...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
