At Thanksgiving our Grandson found all these cute little houses I had bought... and he wanted to paint them all... I had to say the bad word of NO... and I told him that they were going to be presents for people... so I had to make one for him... no exception... So it had to be a Santa house too... he is 7 and a half... and how many more years of Santa will he have??? So this had to be done for this year...
I started off with the premade little kraft brown house... and then added Idea-ology tissue all over it... love that stuff... The hardest part about making these houses... is that you have to wait in between things drying... ugh... wait ... wait... wait... okay... now I can add the tree... and then I really had to wait... like over night... it was gooey plus... I use picket fence distress stickles on the tree... and added some pearls... a frosty look for sure... then I added all the little gingerbread people... and the bag of toys by the front door... Santa would have toys all around...
So then I did both sides with little gingerbread kids... Our grandson builds his own Gingerbread house every year... so he loves little things like this...
Of course in between waiting for things around the base of the house to dry, I could paint the roof and start to decorate that... The star is from something that our daughter made a long time ago... so she is getting it back... a little memento to the house is needed too...
Since our grandson is really into art and learning all about it... I put some tags into his little house... Tags of SANTA... of course... and also some fun techniques that I will show to him... he loves to do that kind of thing...
Oh such fun... and I do love making things...
Hope you are having a fun year so far... I sure am... loving it all...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... hope to see you tomorrow... as spring is arriving here... maybe not for good... but a little bit here and there never hurt... LOL...
Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie
What a sweet Santa house, Bonnie, and even greater memories for your grandson when he plays with the house and the tags! Wishing you a happy and blessed new year!

Love the Santa house, Bonnie and I bet your dgs will as well.
ReplyDeleteI am not a patient person either when it comes to waiting for elements to dry. That's the WORST part of crafting!
