Tags for my book

I finally got around to having a day when I could work on some personal tags... I have spent the last two weeks creating Fall, Halloween and Christmas tags for classes... I love them.. and they are very special to me... hope that others do too...  I love to teach others what little I know... so that they can play more too...

Okay... so here is one of the tags I just created... it is for a few challenges...

Grungy Monday... to use Grunge board  so I used the letters FLY...
Simon Says Stamp and Show  ... to do some embossing... so I did a tag with an embossed bird cage using Distressed embossing powder...

Gingersnap challenge was to use a plane or train... so I used a picture of my Grandfather with his 'flying machine' ... he had my Mom in his arms here and also a flag for something that we are not totally sure what he was using it for...  but the whole tag is all around flying...  My Grandfather always use to tell me that when he got up in the air he could see all the little houses... and all the trees... so the background is trees .... along with butterflies (which are embossed with heavy duty Utee to create a thick look... )

The other little tag and the wording is from Just Rites Spread your wings cling stamps... I think that they are so cute... anyway.. the saying on the small tag and also on the large on is Spread your Wings and FLY....

I will use this tag to create a page for the scrapbook I am making on my mothers life... I love making these...  Hope you enjoy them too...

It's very hot down here in the mountains today... but not as hot as some other places... I am staying cool... and enjoying myself creating...  My hubby is out watering the garden... trying to save some of the plants that are suffering ... I make sure he takes lots of water out with him... and he always can cool off in the watering system if need be...

Stay cool... and enjoy...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... Love, Light and Peace.. Bonnie

  1. What a fabulous tag, and I sooooo love that you've used your own family picture! What a lovely interpretation of your grandfather's life, with the "little houses" he used to marvel at. Gorgeous piece all around! Thanks for sharing it with Gingersnap Creations!! (I'm sweltering along with you in the central NC... will it ever end???)

  4. I'm enjoying all your creations as you revive so many family memories! As I carry water to our 6 tomato plants, 2 squash plants and numerous flowers and shrubs, I have sympathy for those of you who are larger growers and have to deal with this unbearable heat wave of late!

  5. Bonnie, I love everything about this tag! The photo is priceless, and you've truly done it justice. Great use of Grungeboard letters, and the imagery and colors are lovely. I bet your grandfather would be so proud!
