Once upon a springtime center part of box...

Once Upon a Springtime

The inside of the box… okay… so many have written to me asking where I got the idea, or the box etc… I get these ideas as I work… and I built the box from acid free cardboard…  the box is 8.5 X 19 by 3 inches deep…
I put two covers on it… one on the left and one on the right… I put four legs on it that are Tim Holtz legs…  LOL… I think his legs look a little bit different… but they are legs that are in his line of product…

I am using the set of paper by Graphic 45 called Once Upon a Springtime… and it really is the inspiration that helped to create this project… you see I started off by starting to make some cards, using the paper… but didn’t really like any that I was coming up with… they looked like the cards that I always make… and I wanted something really special… so I started to realize that I needed a box… and then covers on each side to help protect the inside of the box… as you can see there are a lot of things here…

I got into my larger embellishments and found baskets, washtubs, Glenn found a birds nest in the middle of the pasture that day and guess where it ended up… yup… in the box… and then I made a little frame and all the flowers were made from the book pages and I used Tim Holtz Floral template… and then created each flower for the box…

A fun little bird house... for a cute little bird

I wanted something special for the title of the project, so I used a Spellbinder lacey oval and inserted some lace in it… and then put the banner over the top of it…

A little rusty tin tree with a wooden bird in it, is standing in the corner of the box by Mama Bunny… and her little ones…  ( we have so many baby bunnies in our yard.. love to see them hopping all over the yard..  so cute and sweet… and I pray that the stray kitties don’t get a meal from them… )
A real birds nest

I have a few wooden bird houses… so I picked the one I liked the best, painted it… and put a little bird on it… and glued it to the top of the center focal point… which is another one of those cards that I started to make…  this one is made from a Cuttlebug cut and emboss and I used a piece of parchment paper… which I colored and enhanced…  then I added a picture behind the opening and put it on a piece of my favorite Bo Bunny polka dotted paper…  love it… so much nicer in a box than as a card…

Mama Bunny wash bucket and basket...

Flower using pages from an old book
I know that you can’t see the 3D ness of this box… but the bunnies are all cut out and stand about ½ inch from the background… the items in front come right out to the edge of the 3inch depth of the box…  the birdsnest.. is right on the fringe of not allowing the covers to truly close flat…  but the little pieces of fiber that the mother bird used are flexible and keep the covers out…  LOL… great building mother bird… hope you have another nest for your babies…  this one certainly wasn’t strong enough for babies…  but it is perfect for my box… Thanks…

Well only one more section to talk about and share with you… that is the Back of the BOX…. And then you will be able to see the whole box… just by flipping over these pictures again… I certainly have enjoyed sharing these with you… and from all the letters I have received you too have enjoyed it…  so very happy you have…

Thanks for stopping by… and come on back for the viewing of the back of the box…

Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie
