Twas the Night before
Christmas and all through the house…
Not a creature was
stirring,
Not EVEN a Mouse…
When I was a child
growing up, there were special times through out the year that still are
memories near to my heart…
well when I saw Linda’s tag… what came into my mind,
Twas the Night before Christmas…
the
stockings were hung by the chimney with care…
in hope that Saint Nicklaus soon would be there…
YES!!!
(Inspiration was the stocking and the hanging of it for Santa to fill with all the goodies... now I pray for Ranger stuff in my stocking.... or a nice trip to Funkie Junkie boutique... )

So when I started to
do my tag..
I had to bring those memories back into my mind…
my Mom would sit my brother and I on the
couch,
one of us on each side of her,
and she would read the story of
‘THE NIGHT BEFORE
CHRISTMAS”
And I always loved
the part of the little mouse…
My Mom would squeal
like a little mouse…
funny but I would
get the biggest chuckle out of it…
my
Mom sounded so very funny doing it…
Well… I had to do
something like that for my tag..
Colored it with
Colored pencils,
Cut it out with
spellbinders, and then glitter starting flying to make snow flakes, cover
leaves, add a background around the mouse of glitter… and oh what fun…
Some glittery snowflakes with a huge Pink Gem stone in the middle...
Glittery leaves too... what a fun thing...
My actual tag… I used
one of Tim’s branch stamps, and stamped in greens and
then in embossing ink,
and used a powder called enameled powder…
gives a very fine bright white color…
I wanted the wintery
look,
as we generally always had snow of some kind
on Christmas as I remembered
it…
so I put the snowflakes border on
the edge of the tag…
Some Victorian
Velvet ribbon…
and done…
Oh yes… I did hand
write the beginning of the saga…
When I was little my
brother and I had
learned the piece by heart…
and so when my Mom would read it…
we would say the words with her…
always
such a fun time as I was growing up…
Then we hung our
stockings by the chimney with care…
and followed it through out the night…
listening for Santa…
and finally we heard him on the roof,
and would fall off
to sleep…
Merry Christmas to all… and to all a Good Night…
Hope that Santa brings you all that you love..

Happiest of days

Wow Bonnie, you have been a busy girl this week! So many gorgeous tags, each one beautiful and unique, just like you! I love your creativity and the way you can mix different elements together to create a vision of beauty! So wonderful my friend! holiday hugs :)
ReplyDeleteHoly moly! This is absolutely fantastic, Bonnie. Your mouse is so charming - you are an amazing artist to be able to draw something like him! Again, I loved your story, reminded me of my childhood too - especially the part about your brother knowing The Night Before Christmas by heart. My parents love to tell about me being able to recite the whole thing when I was 4 - can't say it all now, but I could then - LOL. Love your hand written verse at the top of the tag too. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
