So here is Tim's tag...
Just click on it... and it will take you to the land of FUN...
I love doing new and fun things... as most of you know... I really had fun with this technique... it was new to me... (which is a good thing) and it was messy... another good thing... and I totally enjoyed it... I made a lot of the other papers... but liked this one the best...
Here is my tag...
The stencil I used was the Holly bough... why???
Well I live in North Carolina, and we have huge holly trees growing all around us... some are small little bushes... but we have some that are over 60 feet tall... way up in the sky type of trees... they are wonderful... except when you pick them and the leaves dry out... ouch... they are nasty,... but I do love the holly year round... so this might seem weird to you.. .but to me holly is a year round plant...
I used many different stencils... and will most likely make and share a few more... but this one is the first one I played with... and I really love the way it turned out...
Same tag... except picture taken with white paper for background...
I LOVE crows... and this one is why I bought the whole stamp set... LOL.. not kidding... I love this crow...
He is sitting on the branches that I die cut from Tim's Bird and Branch die... and used Vintage Photo distress ink to color...
The crow... well he really wanted to flow off the tag... so I allowed him this gracious experience... and added a tail... and then also added a wing... which I popped with a piece of Pop dot... and also used some Rock candy Glitter... yes I colored it... as I didn't have Distress glitter in Black... I used my alcohol inks to color the glitter... and I love it...
I also used one of Tim's new little hearts and in the heart it says... Life Journey... as this bird is like me.. on a journey and finding all the answers to life's questions...
I do hope you can see the lovely holly behind him... it is glorious..
the other day when my hubby went out to feed the chickens a few large crows greeted him a few caws... and even sat in the holly tree until he passed... after a while they flew on... that is what inspired me do create this for my husband to remember that time... it was very special to him.. .as most of the time they fly off...
I usually made very 'formal' looking bows, or multi streamers for the top of my tags... but I love this one... and will most likely use it again and again... I also added a few paper beads to the ends of a few pieces of the bow... just needed a finishing touch... The paper I made the beads from were also from a piece of paper that I made using this same method... but didnt' like the way it turned out...
This technique was not as easy as I thought it would be... you have to try this a couple of times to get the right amount of water .... and also the right amount of inks... oh but I did have fun with it... and am anxious to make a few more... hopefully I will have time in the next week...
Thanks Tim for the lesson... LOVED it all..
Hope you will join in on this fun challenge... and create and learn something new... when you stop learning... you will stop living soon... so come on.. join in on the fun...
Thanks for stopping in today... and see you tomorrow.. .
