Loving Life is GREAT

The title of my piece today is...  Love Life.  A mantra of mine for many a year now... LOL... I am not going to go any further... LOL... just a long time...

Here is  Love Life...

I had quite a fun time with this one... I had all day to do as I may... so did I ever... I am messy from the tip of my nose to the tip of my toes... quite a site for sore eyes... and I love the way I feel... I took this to another level and love everything about it...

So before I go any further... here are the rules from CC3...

Linda Ledbetter always writes up a nice welcome and it is inspiring in all ways... love to play along with this group of wonderfully talented people...

This is from this weeks challenge...  take a look and join in on the fun...  it is so much fun to learn new things...

Boy, things sure came up roses in that last challenge, you guys! The Curiosity Crew was awed by the gorgeous Faux Tea Roses you created for the CC3C.03, and delighted by the amazing ways you incorporated them into your artwork. Bravo, everyone who participated!
Again, we have a tough challenge ourselves, coming up with a Curiosity Crew’s Choice who will receive a huge batch of awesome products from Tim and Mario. We’ll  announce the winner in a separate blog post this Tuesday, where we’ll also reveal the recipient of the $50 Inspiration Emporium gift certificate…. so remember to check back and see if you’re one of our winners.
For Challenge 4, we’ll be exploring the first of several Layering Stencil techniques– Texture Paste, which is on page 49 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. #3. If you haven’t played with Tim’s stencils yet, it’s high time your treated yourself to these splendidly cool designs. They’re a blast to work with, and you can use them in so many ways!
So, check out the technique, then show us how you put your own unique spin on it! Before you link up, though, please be sure to review the CC3C F.A.Q. for the rules of this challenge. If you have questions that aren’t addressed, leave a comment here and I’ll reply as soon as I’m able to.
Everyone is welcome to enter, but you must work from your personal copy of Tim Holtz’s A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3. We will not be posting technique instructions on our blogs, and our participants must not, either. We require this out of respect and appreciation for all the work that Tim invested in creating this book. If you don’t have a copy, you can order one directly from Tim, who will autograph it for you!
As with each challenge, the team and I will select a “Curiosity Crew’s Choice” winner who will receive a spectacular assortment of Tim’s products, courtesy of Tim himself and Mario Rossi, his business manager (who, like Tim, is one of our favorite people in the world)! To be eligible to win this prize package, you must visit each of the Curiosity Crew members’ blogs and leave a comment there. You can access their blogs by clicking on their project photos, and your comment on this post counts as your comment on my blog.

The Funkie Junkie Boutique
All our even-numbered challenges are sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique, a fantastic online shop that caters to fans of Tim Holtz and his gorgeously grungy style. The Funkie Junkie will award a $25 gift certificate to one lucky, randomly selected participant. All you need to do to be eligible is link your project here, and include a link the www.thefunkiejunkie.com in your blog post.
Here’s what the Curiosity Crew created with the Layering Stencil Texture Paste Technique! I say it every challenge (and probably will, for all the rest of the challenges, too): I have incredibly talented friends!!!

Okay... so now...
I wanted to follow also a color theme that I saw on Pinterest that a friend put up...  here it is...

so this is the color scheme... I don't usually work in these colors together... so this was just another part of the whole challenge for me... I loved what I came out with...

First off, I pulled all the Distress inks out and lined them up... trying to make sure I got the right ones for this challenge...  and then I started to play ...

I did use a piece of a corrugated box for this project... it is approx. 8 inches by about 14 inches... didn't measure it... just a guesstament...  LOL..  I wanted to add in a lot of things that I LOVE in my life...

I love to Zentangle...  and I love daisies... I carried them in our wedding 45 years ago this June 26th...  and I wanted to play with my leaf stamps that I made... funny part is that I only used one... oh well... tomorrow is another day... right???

I used grunge board letters and a spritzer of vintage photo and gold perfect pearls...  and then sanded off the edges and added Black soot...  just more of a mess on my hands...

I cut out some flowers...  using a flower template of Tim Holtz's and glued them down... using gesso to do this deed.

The piece of corrugated sort of got the corner ripped off... so I did a little bit of a patch job... and used it for additional texture...

The paper you see in the upper right hand corner was done the same way as challenge one was done...  and I made three sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper and stamped, and had fun on them... loosens one spirit up and also the mind and hands...  I used different parts of these papers on here... like some for the leaves to be stamped on... and then cut out...

I used my diamond stencils and created the textured look a little bit more on this project...

I also cute up one sheet and made diamonds and edged them with Vintage Photo...

I love the richness of this section...  so great with the dragonfly peeking thru... do you see her??? or him???

since our wedding anniversary is not far away, I did want to use these fun daisies...  and so I used Mustard seed ink and a round blending tool and got the centers colored... then added some Liquid pearls in the centers... used Milk chocolate and avocado... two of my favorite colors...  so rich... and yummie...

I did have to crinkle the flowers and the leaves to make them a little more dimensional...  and I love doing that...

Oh My snail is starting to show here...  more daisies and leaves..

My Snail... Zentangled... I love to use this snail in my zentangles often...  it just adds life to a picture of designs...  so I wanted to add some zen here... and so I added my snail...  love it...  I used my alcohol inks and blending pen to get these rich colors on the snail...  I love it...

A little bit closer...  so proud and happy to be here...

I am not really sure how many layers I have ...
but I think it is about 6 plus... I really had fun with this one... and most likely will do another one this week... just enjoyed this one greatly...

Thanks to Linda and the CREW... and also to Tim, Mario, and all that help them...  and also to Funkie Junkie for all that you all do to bring this to us all... THANKS....

Hope that you have a great week... and also fun creating your entry...  thanks for stopping by for a visit... and thanks also for your comments... I read them all... and thank you very much.

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
