Monday Simon Says Family week

I love to scrapbook... that is how I got started in paper crafting... I was a quilter prior to paper... a true blue fabric-aholic....  and I still love to sew... but right now paper is my main focus... if you know what I mean...  it sort of absorbs you into its power... and it totally has me...  and I love it all...

So I have been working in the past couple of weeks on a book about my Mothers earlier years in life...  she just passed away in February at the age of 94... she was a very strong person.

So here are some of the pages I have been working on...

Sometimes when you buy a stamp, you have a plan for it and sometimes not... when I bought this flower one, I just LOVED it, with nothing in mind at all...  just to use and enjoy it...  so I loved it so very much, that I made the paper and hand painted each flower...  I love this page... had to share it with you...
I used a tag to put my grandmother's picture on, and then surrounded it with ore flowers...

Film Strips from Tim Holtz's Ideology hoard... and I put little pictures of my Mom in each one...  The flowers are made from Baby wipes...

I hope to incorporate this one with the one above...  a collage style of pictures in the center... and then the negative strip...

I think this is one of my favorites so far...  a collage, of some of my favorite photos...  closeups to follow...

These are tags that will go onto pages, that I have not finished yet... but will share with you...  I have used this photo in a lot of my work... but this one will go into the book..

This photo was taken over 90 years ago... and owning a plane was a huge thing back then... it still is, in my way of living... but my grandfather had his own plane in the 20's...  and my Mom and him use to fly all the time...  the only picture I have of the plane...
This too will go onto a page soon... maybe today...

So this is my Family pages for the Challenge that Simon Monday has this week..
I feel very strong about saving memories for others to see... they might not totally understand the whole story behind the pictures, but will get the general idea...

I do hope that you have enjoyed these... and thanks so very much for stopping by for a visit...
have a super wonderful day... and create something that will bring meaning to your family.

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

  1. This is an amazing project Bonnie, and I am sure that you are loving working on it, although it might be tough at times too. I love how you are incorporating the photos. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. You asked about the gold embossing paste - I got it in Germany - but here is a link. You could also mix normal paste with gold metallic acrylic paint too I bet, but it gets a bit runnier. http://bastelecke.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3653
