Okay... this is for two pretty challenges... Shabby Tea Room... where the colors are pink, green and white, and the theme is Garden and flowers... or house...
and
Sugar Creek Hollow... oh my goodness... I went there today... to see what the challenge was.. and I am a winner again... and this piece happens to be one of my very favorite pieces I have done... I love the colors and it is with flowers... wow... thank YOU all for choosing my piece... THANKS and I am very honored...
here is the piece that won...
Sometimes things just happen the way they are suppose to happen... I had extra texture paste on my knife... so I picked up this orange piece of paper that I had painted and added these designs... LOL.. of course I ran out of texture paste and got more... but finally was finished... the paper sat there to dry for a few days...
and then I colored the textured paste with a water brush and ink... and then used Inka gold on it... love the background of this paper... and then when Sugar Creek asked for a summer Theme... using orange, pink and yellow... all in bright colors... well I used this piece of paper... and it turned out to be a favorite... love it when that happens...
So thank you very much for Honoring me and this piece of art... I am totally HONORED...
Okay... so back to my frilly card... I made this for these two challenges... and really had fun.. took a few things to another level...
I wanted to do a window... as in the spring my yard is all AZALEAS... our entire yard is lined with over 50 azaleas of all colors... there is no picket fence.. but I wanted to create a small 'flower box' for this card... and our yard is filled with BUTTERFLIES all during the warmer months... as we are organic and they have plenty to feast on...we make sure of that.
I made the frame using a spellbinders die and then a Martha Stewart set to make the paper lace... and the center was made with some texture paste and a new tim holtz stencil called graphic... love it... I had colored my paper prior to putting the texture paste on... but it looks like the paste absorbed the color... LOL.. oh well I love it... so I added more myself... so the pink is really VICTORIAN VELVET ink... I use so very much of that... a favorite color for sure...
I built a little window box, using a fence punch by Martha also... and then made a lot of flowers using Tim's tattered floral strip... lots of little flowers.. but I only used one style and cut a lot of them.. .I did ink my own paper... and that way a nice flow of colors... again.. VICTORIAN VELVET ink...
The bows are also made with seam binding ribbon with VICTORAIN VELVET ink... I do love the stuff...
The Butterfly... dyed with Victorian Velvet ink... what else... and the center is a paper bead... with a stamen folded in half for the antennae...
The leaves also are on the tattered floral strip of dies... and I inked words onto them for a contrasting look...
The end of the window box... and some of the smaller flowers..
The other end...
When you open the card... you will see this in the center ... I again used the same stencil... and left is whiter this time... and made the ornate frame with a TH template... and piled up 5 papers cut the same... for added strength... a little bow..
When you open it up...
I tangled a Happy Birthday with a zentangle called Girlande... love that particular one... plain and simple... Happy Birthday...
So that is my card this week...
Hope you enjoyed seeing all the pretties on this one... as a last minute thought I added the swirls... love them... just three... and all done...
Have a great day... and thanks so very much for taking a trip over here... I really appreciate it greatly.. .and love all the comments and love you share with me... I love it all..
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
