So today... the DIVA has asked us to do the plaid thingy...
Weekly Challenge #180: "UMT -
MacDee by Anneke Van Dam"
Last week's Bijou challenge was so much fun! i'm so glad you
all enjoyed it. This week is the Use My Tangle challenge, and this week's
tangle to try out is called "MacDee" you can see the step-outs here
LOL... I love it... last week was fun and Bijou still is hanging around here.. I guess because I have so many snails around... he feels good and at home... not a problem for me... that is for sure...
Okay... my last name is McLain... use to be MacLain three generations ago... but all things get changed around as time goes on... don't they..??? (My maiden name was also Scottish... Bonnie Prince Nelson...) so I carry a lot of the Scots blood in me... that is for sure... on all sides of my heritage... so I know what the Mac Lain plaid is... but I went on line and found this really stunning picture of the plaid... as I didn't feel like going and digging out the kilts, etc... so here is the plaid..
OMG... when I was on this site... they had womens GOWNS... and I fell in love with this gal's dress and the whole thing... the background etc...
Now if you really study this picture... it is the SAME plaid as I have shown you above... it is just that the reds are muted etc... but I wanted to show both of these features...oh my...
Well I knew it was going to be a long tangling day... but that is okay... I had made our gluten free muffins and they were cooling.. lunch was ready when Glenn comes back with some firewood... fall is on the way... so I was pretty comfy and ready for a nice morning...
The sky got really dark and the heavens let loose... lots and lots of rain... but that is okay... Glenn got the tractor into a garage and was okay... no lightening hit him... etc... a terrifying thing in the mountains...
Okay... back to tangling... I get so carried away...
FOCUS...
So here is my thought.. .I wanted to do a plaid fabric in the background...
AND a ruffle at the bottom of this fabric...
AND also a brooch...
holding the skirt up... but I wanted it tucked underneath...
No wrinkling of the fabric... I knew that would drive me crazy... so I kept that even... and the ruffle... good I know what I am going to do... or do I????
Here is the way it turned out...
My plaid didn't come out like the blue of the dress... at all.. not enough colored pencils... LOL..
But I do like it... hey I spent the better part of my day doing this...
but I wouldn't do another plaid like this.. .that is for sure...
But the medallion is nice..
I did have fun creating this... and that is really all that matters to me... Learning lessons about life, me and my art...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope that you have a fun time with this tangle too...
Have a GREAT day...
