Don't it make my BLUE eyes brown...

Today is SUNDAY... and so... Sunday Stampers has a challenge... and Hels is calling it ..... Don't it make my BROWN eyes BLUE...   The reason being... that she has brown eyes... and I have BLUE eyes...  so I made mine a little bit different...  LOL..

Anyway... please run over to Ink on my fingers and check out the magnificent piece that Hels created... it is so very pretty with all the butterflies etc...  love it Hels...

So... I have to use brown and blue and create something...

Here it is...

I made a really fun piece of paper using Tim Holtz techniques to color and stencil the background... then I had the piece of paper a little to wide for my journal that it will be going into...

so I trimmed off a 3 inch section.... and that is where I got the blocks for the top left section...

I also used some grunge letters and colored them with distress embossing powders... along with the bird too...   I wanted a blue bird as the blue birds here are so magnificent .... not this color.. but dark blue and ALL BLUE...  this one I put a antique linen chest on it... LOL...

I also used a couple of die cuts of Tim's to get the branch and also the lattice...  the stamps are the bird and the leaf from his set that the nest also came from... I cut the leaves out after using perfect pearls spritzer on them... and I used a turquoise colored one... so really pretty in real life.. I couldnt' catch the color with the camera that well..

You can see that they shimmer... but you cant see the turquoise color at all..  but that is okay I guess...

Over all I had a lot of fun with this... and the pick up looked like a war zone.. but that is okay.. I got that all cleaned up too..

I used a little tissue tape add a few words in a center for the lattice... and called it done.. I love it...

I fun BLUE AND BROWN challenge Hels... thanks so much...
I love the colors so it was really easy...
Hope you all have a really nice day... it is overcast, cold... in fact I am wrapped up in a quilt freezing as I type this out...  going to go jump in my favorite chair and read for a while...  I am freezing.. my quilt will feel good until the fire in the basement heats the house... here it is the middle of may... and we have a fire on... unheard of in North Carolina...  usually people have their A/C pumping at this time of year...  and we are heating??? Weird as ever.

anyway... enjoy no matter what you are doing or how your weather is... and create something fun...
thanks for stopping by for a visit...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

  1. This is gorgeous Bonnie, love the homemade background, and the tiles on the left top just pop, although they are from the same piece of card. A beautifully arranged collage! Love the browns with the blues.
