This is my finished tag...
Soooooooooo prior to finishing the tag, I do what I always do... I gather up things that I am going to use... and when I did, I had to reorganize a few things... and I wanted to share some with you...
Do you have an old jewelry box from the 50's??? Well I just so happen to have a few... and so I have been keeping my Tim Ideology in one of them... I can't fit it all in there... but this jewelry box has all the glass, and clear things... and also some of the metal items...
It was a typical pale pink box, so I had to start to glam it up and have never gotten around to finishing it...
I have a cute little wooden Cigar box... and I put some legs on it... and what goes inside...????
Of course... tissue tapes... I love it...
This is Tim's BEAUTIFUL tag... in all ways BEAUTIFUL... and I wanted to create something just as pretty and fun... (hope you will join in on the fun... you have until the end of the month...)
So again I walked around my studio and started to pick things up for my tag... I knew of a couple of things that I wanted to put on it... but not really sure of all the goodies I wanted to use...
So I started to PLAY... and here is what happened...
First off... I didn't have any words from Tim, or Ranger that were dry embossing... and I wanted to try and follow that part of the tag... as I love the look of embossing that is colored... I also added some Victorian Velvet Distress stain to my work sheet and used the round blending tool to work some of that onto the words... love the way it came out...
Okay... then things got a little more fun... I found some of the foliage ideology.. and love coloring it... so I grabbed some of the embossing powders and started to color the pieces... as shown below...
After coloring them, I had to use a jewelry pliers and gently bend the pieces so that they would create flower I wanted to use...
Then using the tiny brad, I put it all together... it is far from flat...
As you can see here...
It sort of looks flat here... but believe me it isn't... as you can see in the picture above...
When I was creating this tag... the hardest part for me was getting the right color behind each item... sometimes I had to use three or four different backgrounds before I was happy.. Thanks Tim for the suggestion and heads up on that one...
On this one I used some Bundled Sage Distress stain and then some of my favorite mini distress inks on the edges... I only have four so far... but they are the colors that I use the most often for things on my work table... I also added a narrow piece of tissue tape... love that one... if you don't have it... you better buy it... it is my all time fav....
I used a few other ideology pieces and this one I did nothing too... just added the background...
I colored both of these with my alcohol inks...as they were two different color metals... and I wanted that rich look of copper... GOT IT... nice and easy too...
You can find out how to do this in Tim's book COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES Page 56... I think it was in the first volume... if you don't have this series of books and you like this type of playing... then these are a must have... They are loaded with all kinds of things to do... and also all kinds of personal challenges...
BUT there is also another challenge that you might want to take a look into and that is all about these books...
Linda Ledbetter and a FEW other CREW members have an on going challenge every other week using Tim's Volume 3 to create a tag or project using these techniques... so very much fun and there are prizes too... so check it out...
Okay... so where was I prior to that little bit of info... oh yes...
Okay... so again here is my finished tag... I used some jute at the top... pink and tan...
You might be able to see the whole tag a little bit better in this picture... anyway... it was a fun afternoon and my neighbor and I had a lot of fun making these tags... I forgot to take a picture of my arrow... it is a Grunge arrow.. and I used some black soot on it... and called it done... plain and simple...
I really wasn't real happy with the tag, but moved things around until I was... I also had to change a few of the backgrounds... and finally it all came together and I was happy with it.. hope you enjoy it too... please join in on the challenge... you will learn so very much each time you create... get volume III (also 1 and 2 if you don't have them...) and join in on the fun...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit and I do hope that you enjoyed your visit here... I have a few other blogs on the right hand side of my blog... and you can visit our farm... (organic and fun) and also see some of the other things I create... I love to play and have fun...
See you all soon... have a wonderful week and week-end...
