Slowing down TIME

Slowing Down Time
This really has a story behind it plus…
About two weeks ago I bought the parts to make a clock… and decided t o make a configuration box clock for my studio… I started it… but with making all of our Christmas presents this year, it got pushed to the back of the PILE… not kidding either…way in the back… (actually I had to dig for it today to work on it… )

Anyway… then with working on all the Tim 12 Days of Christmas tags… it got pushed back a little bit more… days seem to be getting shorter and shorter…

Then today… Monday the 5th of December… I looked up to see what the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge was… and low and behold it was TIME…. Wow… I would take the time I had set aside for that challenge and work on my configuration box… and get it done… by hook or crook… it will be done… and within a few hours it was…  I had lined the little boxes and all I needed to do was put the innards into it…

Well when I was in collage my first degree was in Art… (a few years ago… ahem….)   and we were not allowed to use our name to sign our pictures until we had a degree… we had to use a symbol… and I used a snail… after graduation, I tried to find snails and did find a few… but they were very hard to find… but friends would mail them to me.. and I started a collection of snails… it is a little bit too large to put them all into a configuration box… but I did collect all the smaller ones to help SLOW     DOWN     TIME….   LOL… do you think it will help?????  Well anyway… this is the way it turned out… (look above for whole picture of clock)
I love dragonflies... and of course purple is a favorite color... although I have to say that all colors are really my favorite... I go thru spells of a favorite color...

I made the bird using a sizzix die cut... and then nested it among a few baby wipe flowers... and of course another snail... this one happens to be a pin too... (or it use to be... )  The Clock actually is working... and I think I will have to color the hands black... so you can see it better... what do you think???
A close up of the bird area...

The way that I hung the whole thing up... is with dyed seam binding... LOL.. not kidding... three pieces... and I love it...  I can easily take it all down and change the battery of the clock too... so it is good..

Of course I also gathered up a lot of Tim Idea-ology items to use too… and then a few other misc things that one seems to gather… smooth glass, pearls, flowers are made like I always do with baby wipes… LOL… have a lot of them ready for any project that needs one.. or a few…
More things than I normally hang off something... but I love this...
Wrinkled up sheet music... another story... but I took 13 years of concert piano... and now I don't even play... so the wrinkled up sheet music...

I play my paper and scissor music though... and love it..
Just a cozy little area for a couple of snails to hang out... they are sitting on glass pebbles... and have a flower in the background that is made from a book page...
Love making these time pieces from Tim's Idea-ology line... this one I took a gold charm and dyed it with alcohol ink... and a few paper flowers and some green mica ... voila' a time piece that says my favorite things...

A little snail hanging out in front... so me...

The lower right section of the box is all snails...  a couple of flowers here and there...

Metal corners to adore the corners... duh... and then the tissue tape all the way around each box...  Love making these... and now I have a new clock on the wall...
Thanks Simon Says Stamp and show also for all the lovely gifts...
I won the challenge a week ago... and have already received my wonderful gifts... they ship really fast and are a GREAT company to shop with... so do all your Christmas shopping there... Tell you hubby that you have already done the deed for him... and he can relax... what fun is that...

Here is a picture of what I received... my choice of course...
The hardest part was to pick out what I wanted...

So I got some really nice things... Graphic 45 stuff... yeah... and some pads of paper that I really didn't need.. but had to have kind of thing... so it will keep me busy to say the least... more stuff to play with...

Thanks again for all you do Simon Says... you are GREAT!!!
Hope that you all take a look at the store... and gets some goodies... and that you have a GREAT day and get some things done... Thanks for stopping by for a visit too...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

And, your little Tim pocket watch is sooo cute, with the dragonfly and little flowers. I love the interest you created with all of your extra Ideaology things that are such fun accents. You did a great job on your project. Be proud!!! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. <3 Candy

  3. Aloha Bonnie,
This is a gorgeous configuration box! I love how you insert your collection of some of your snails. Your clock is real, that I love. It reminds me that I need to get going with replacing my broken clock on the wall. Hah!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful art.
    Warm hugs...
