Joyous Poinsettias

Third day of tags with Tim Holtz.... you have to go visit his site... so many pretty tags there to be seen from all over the world... the art is spectacular.... love it all... wish I had a high speed so I could go and visit all the sites...  each and every tag and project is prettier that the next one...
Also check out Grungy Monday... as a lot of us are adding our tags there too... Linda is really a super nice person and is trying to give us space to share all we can with others... so great... thanks Linda again for all the work you do on behalf of us all...

Hope also that you take a look at my main blog...  as I am also posting a tag each and every day until December 25th .... all a la TIM style...  Merry Christmas... and happy snow days..

Okay... so now for todays tag.... Tim shows a really neat technique today on inking a pad to match your stamp... which I did... I choose some really great colors to do so also... I used some archival and also some Distress inks...  and got the look that I personally LOVE... The most glorious color to me is the Victorian Velvet... I love it... it is rich, clear and wonderful in all ways... so I used that... and then went on from there... right into Bundled Sage... Love it.. then you take your stamp and ink it... and stamp so that each word now comes out a different color... how wonderful is that???  super fun...  put the ink pad into a zip lock ready to use this year and next most likely...

This is what my tag looked like prior to decorating it... LOL.. I really love it... there is shabby shutters, Plum and Olive  (archival inks )Victorian velvet, bundled sage... and a few others...

Then the fun started to happen to this tag... I grunged up the edges... and then colored with Tattered rose pad... and then I added the poinsettias...
I made my poinsettias using a spellbinder die set.. and inked the stencil on the dies with victorain velvet... I should tell you first that I made my paper using mini misters.... and swirling to get a mixture of colors onto the paper.. there is gold and a red perfect pearls in the mini misters...  I used my work sheet and misted the sheet and then picked up the inks on paper... love doing that... so the entire tag was made with white paper... LOL... LOVE IT....

I made the poinsettias and also the paper swirls... the paper swirls I used a thin cut piece of paper and wrapped it around a skewer... and when I pulled it off... I had a wonderfully created swirl of vine like vision... and my leaves... I also cut them out with different punches... and then added them to the arrangements....  the center of the poinsettias... they are pearls with some added Liquid Pearls...  I also sanded the leaves of the poinsettia  ... just to give it a little bit of a rustic look...
Up at the top of the tag, I added a Jingle bell... and also some greenery and a little bit of twisted hemp cord... again, wound around a skewer... and then the bell was tied onto it...

Seam binding... colored Victorian Velvet... love that color... have I told you that already???? Oh well... I do love it...

I have printed a few more of these tags and also some card blanks... so I might be back later... you never can tell... I am having fun with this...

This tag also appears on Inspiration Emporium… so please take a few minutes and check out all the WONDERFUL tags there… they look so different and I personally think there are some there that are not on Tim’s … but check it out…

Thanks Shelly for telling me about this site… I love it… will be going there often…  that is for sure… my kind of site…

see you later...
hope you have a fun and creative day ahead of you..
Love, Light and Peace.. Bonnie

p.s.  Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit... ya'll come back some time.. ya hear...

Did I mention I love those colors? lol Victorian Velvet and Shabby Shutters etc ? And then there is the Sage! It's endless! It brings a shabby sheak vintage look for Christmas. Thanks for sharing. It was inspirational

  2. Of all the entries on day one, your tag caught my eye, but I forgot to bookmark your page. Then today I picked out your tag again for closer inspection. Glad I found you again, lol. Love the way you coloured your own papers for the poinsettia. Looking forward to seeing your progress thru the next two weeks.
