This month the Altered Alice challenge is to make a Christmas card... of course with Alice...
For all the details, check out the blog...
But one of the things that really took my heart and eyes were the windows .... and this is what Lynne posted...
To celebrate the season, we bring you The Lewis Carroll Memorial Window at Daniell Chapel in England.
So with that in mind... this is the card that I made...
I wanted to do a stain glass effect.. and I think I got that point across here... I started off with a sheet of paper that I painted with Twinkling H20's... and then grunged up the edges... and put some Pumice Stone Distress stain around them...
Then I made the black led design using a die cut that a friend sent to me... knowing that I love daisies she sent me this one...
There are so many wonderful dies out there... and how many can we all have or afford... so from one die nut to the other we share... LOL.. what a wonderful world it is....
Then I took my figures which I did a very fussy fancy cut all around... and then put onto black paper... and recut them again.. so that they looked like the window figures...
A little Spellbinder action with the bottom Floral design... and then at top... the only real part of Christmas that I have on the card... the NOEL Christmas ball... the ribbon was dyed to match the background paper... and a few white roses that came from the Queen's Roses, prior to her seeing them and having them painted RED... LOL... what fun...
I put gold on all the figures in the same places that there is gold in the window figures...
Hope that you all have a wonderful HOLIDAY... and I most likely will see you again...
Have a fun day... and be creative as much time as you have...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
Bonnie, this is gorgeous! Love the way you framed the characters in black to make them part of the window. The die cut is perfect and the green background is luminous! Thanks as always for playing along with The Altered Alice! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the daisy die cut!!! It looks so perfect, just beautiful :-)
ReplyDeletewonderful piece of art!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, this is fabulous! What a gorgeous stained glass window effect. Love your stamps and glorious details too. Thanks for joining us at The Altered Alice. xxD
ReplyDeleteI love your interpretation of the Alice window Bonnie!! That Die cut is fab (I need some friends to swap dies with...most of my friends don't know the difference between a die cut and cut and color you might get at the salon :)). I love the pops of gold you have added to the Alice characters!! Once again a "Wonderful" Alice creation...Thanks for joining us at the Altered Alice again! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. You really captured the stained glass effect.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love the black swirls that frame the characters you included! Merry Christmas~
