I am thinking SNOW …. Big time… it is so very hot here that we need some snow now!!!! Wouldn’t that be wild to have snow in August… of course as soon as it snowed, I would want the green summer back… LOL… are we ever satisfied???
Oh well… such is life. Today on Grungy Monday, Linda has chosen the Tim Holtz Christmas tag #10 from last year...it is really a fun tag to replicate… I loved making this one… a snowman to cool me off… and the icy feeling of the coating of ice from the plastic sheet is even more chilling… great effect… love using is.. and the washers are so much fun… I was going to use just the snow flake brads, but like the washer with it…. Added more depth of chillyness to the air…. Which I need …
I used some mini misters on the background of this tag… I mixed them myself… creating the blues and purples in the background (Tim’s directions for making these ) and then I used distress weathered blue on the snowflakes around the snowman… a really light effect when you are holding the tag… Love it…and a little distress Milled Lavender ink around the edges of the Lacey circle...
I used a lacey circle from Spellbinder and then added a cute snowman from Just Rite… what a fun tag… the circles are all layered with pop dots… so the dimension on this tag is great… a deep icy tag… lots of chill to it… I am starting to feel the chill … can you????
Okay… Simple Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge also asks that we use a Tim Holtz technique.. there are quite a few on this tag… the plastic sheet, and the Mini misters are just two of Tims… the background is another also… so please take a look there and see everyone else’s wonderful work…
Of course my ribbons are seam binding tape which I dyed... I love making these ribbons Shelly... thanks so much for sharing your info with me... I love it still and am on my 4th roll of ribbon... and have very little dyed on hand... yikes I am obsessive with this art form... I used three different colors ink on these ribbons... and love the way they look on the tag...
Hope you have a fun day… and try out this technique… it is fun.. Thanks for stopping by for a visit.. and please try and come back soon.. Love, Light and Peace…Bonnie
Lovely!! I'm so in the mood for snow too! (But I hate seeing it go! LOL!)

A beautiful tag - great colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful winter tag.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I am one of those that no matter how hot it got, I would never wish for snow, lol! Hope you are finding ways to keep cool!
ReplyDeleteLove your wintry tag!!
Hi Bonnie. Your snowman is darling! Love the design. You might want to check how you linked up your piece. I am only getting a funny looking frog type face in your spot rather than your beautiful work. Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be dyed head to toe before long! ;-) Love your tag - very sweet and the colors are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThis is darling, Bonnie! I love the design and the colors are completely fabulous! This looks so polished and elegant, yet sweet and perfectly joyful, too! Great job on the GM19 technique!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Love the colors and the shimmery background - so pretty. I'm a huge fan of dying seam binding too - my motto is if it doesn't move, dye it! So glad you joined in our fun this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show!
