Theme Thursday.... BORDERS

Oh what fun it is to create a page for a new book… I am still not sure what size book.. if even a book at all.. but I am making tags, pages and all kinds of things using the pictures my Mom had sent to me..  there are so many that are so cute… I have to use them…

Well Shelly Hickox had a wonderful tag on her blog… and she had made it for Theme Thursday… so I took a look and decided to see if I could do a page with BORDERS…  that is the challenge… (let me tell you… it took my “wonderful” computer over an hour to download the blog… but I think it will be fun… so I got some laundry folded… did another load of wash and then the site was ready for me to see… LOL.. not fun with dial up…  but I get a lot of other things done too…

So here is the page I created…

I love this picture of my Grandmother… she must have been a lot more ‘playful’ in her younger years…  posing with this stripped umbrella… and then the picture with the car… they were going on a picnic… and my mom had a jug of something in her arms…  what a car… can you image what that would be worth today… quite a car…  look at the spoke wheels… such a ‘sporty’ looking car… it even had vases on the inside for fresh flowers to be put… going for a ride was something special… not something like it is today…

I had to use some GREAT  Ideology on this page.. so got out my tags, word discs, and light bulbs…  a little slide that I made with a picture that says REFLECTIONS… oh how true this is for me… reflections of what it was like then… and what kind of world we live in today…

The Ribbon.. oh some of that fun hand dyed seam binding… I should be getting a few rolls in the mail tomorrow… so Shelly if you are ready for a party… we can resume…

All around the BORDERS… which this challenge is all about… I put some Tissue tape.. More IDEOLOGY and also some FRAMES… cut with a die from Tim Holtz’s collection of die templates… and then inserted tiny little pictures of My Mom growing up… so cute.. love it…  I glued the frames to a sheet of plastic packaging… and then glued the pictures onto that… so when you touch the front of the ‘slides’ it feels like the real thing… all like a negative should be… smooth…

I really love the way that this came out… my background paper is by Graphic 45… called Steampunk Debutante  a really great pad of papers… this sheet is only 8.5 x 8.5 and so I guess I will be doing a smaller book this time… it will be fun anyway… no matter what it goes into… I have also made some tags for this project… and will share those as the time goes on…

Thanks for stopping by today… and see you soon…
If you didn’t see the Wedding Book.. you can view it here…just scroll down...  love for you to see it too…
Tomorrow there is another book on my blog… so please take a look see… it is on TOYZ of Mom’s in the 1920’s…  oh such funny cute shots of the days long since gone…

Love, Light and Peace…  Bonnie
