Blue Flowers |
I love making flowers… tons of them… when I get in the mood I use a die and cut some white paper… lots of flowers is the only way to go… I might use my Tattered Floral die by Time Holtz, or my Spellbinder Rose Creations… or even the carnation one… but I cut a lot of flowers from WHITE paper…
You can see some of the purple in these flowers... left over from the flowers I made a few days ago...
I also used five blues on these flowers...
Then I move on over to the paint area… I use my Twinkling H20’s.. or my dye spritzers that I have made with my re-inkers… I color all the flowers on both sides… adding some twinkling H20 gold… and also maybe some perfect pearls to make a little bit more sparkle… Now I have to add something here... as you can see the flowers might have a couple of colors on them... that is because my sheet that I work on in the paint and embossing area is NOT always clean... so the flowers pick up a little bit of character on each one to make it even more unique.... LOL... I love it when that happens... if I wanted a unnatural looking flower that was all one color.. .I would clean the sheet... but I love this look...
I wanted a dark center look... which I got using this lattice netting...
Then I might air dry them… or use my heat gun if I am in a hurry… but the next step is to turn them into flowers… to look like real flowers… buds, full blown blooming ones and even partially open ones… just having all the different sizes all painted is one part of it… but the rest is just as important…
Working the paper with a stylist, breaking the paper fibers up to do what YOU want them to look like… then gluing layer after layer all together to create that perfect flower for one of YOUR projects… love it… love each and every step of it… when I am all done… I add a little personality… the center of the flowers….. a gem, a few stamen, a pretty pearl and then they are ready… if I want a more formal look, I might add some glossy finish to make each flower look like porcelain… but each and every flower is so very unique that it makes them really look like the real thing…
Making sure that the flower you use for the project is the right one is just sheer pleasure… having a lot of flowers to pick from is certainly a joy.. hope that you will try and make some to glamorize your special projects…
Okay... now I had to try a different type of flower... I was over on Tim Holtz's blog... and he had shown how to make flowers from using Glassine... I dont' have any!!! SOoooo when I dont' have something I try using something else to get the same effect and look... so this is my try at that look... I used parchment paper....
I used Perfect Pearls by Ranger and put it on each layer prior to putting the flower together... I used water and a heat gun to set the color...
On this flower, I used dry Perfect pearls... and did nothing at all to set it... and the flower is very delicate and sweet looking... love it...
Now with this flower... I did nothing to it at all.. it is 100% parchment paper and nothing else... I love the way the picture came out... and I call it misty... so soft and sweet looking...
Maybe I will make some more today… I certainly do enjoy it…
Hope that your day is special and that you enjoy each and every minute of it…
Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie
