A Cover for my ART JOURNAL!!! Finally

I have to be really honest and tell you that when I was going all of the TIM tags I skipped over this one… as I didn’t really like the background with alcohol… but now that I am really into the alcohol… inks that is… (LOL )  I thought it would be fun… so I tried it… and I have to say that I loved it…  I love the effect that it gives…  I also have to tell you that I now have quite a stash of plaid papers… which I generally don’t use in my work… but I do love this…

Really LOVE IT…

Okay.. so I started off making my plaid paper… PLAID… with all capital letters… it was really easy and I loved some of the color mixtures I was able to get… you will see more as time passes on…

This I have to say was my favorite… as I love the citrus and the pool and with the black… wow… popped plus..  LOVE IT… I am singing happy... in fact doing the happy dance….

Okay.. so I now have this nice stash of plaid papers and have to find a place to put them… if I put them AWAY… I will never use them… so I have to find a good place for them… not like my fun foam that I can not find at all in this whole studio…  what a mystery… a huge stack of it too… oh well.. life does go on without fun foam…

Then I decided that I needed a background for this plaid… I still didn’t know what I was going to put this on… finally I realized that my Art Journal didn’t have a cover and it really needed one… so I tore a piece of paper to fit that… and then went to town on that with mini mister and perfect pearls… (Sunday Stamper  challenge… use amister… of some kind…  I did… I usedquite a few on this piece…)  and used my craft work sheet and sprayed and rubbed the paper into the inks and glimmers… Oh it was so pretty…  I then used some of my new stencils and choose the harlequin one with a thick mixture of color wash and perfect pearls… nice and thick… and made the harlequins jump… and then used my NEW liquid pearls… which I love the new bright colors of these… have you seen them… yikes they are wonderfully bright and ALIVE!!!

I also made a very thick ink using my color wash and some perfect pearls for the edges of the background paper… and used my blending tool to go around the edges with the color… it is really very very dark and rich in real life..  I love the color…

I outlined some of the diamonds… and then put dots of black diamond and peacock in the center of some too…

I had to put it all aside to allow it to dry… bummer… I love working right on thru… oh well… I can work on the tag section a little now… I used my archival black and stamped the bird cage from one of Tim’s stamps… and then used the crackle from a Christmas stamp set of his… love this crackle … I put that aside to dry and created my bird’s nest with another stamp… and then added the little girl waiting in the nest with the bird… (from my new stamp set from Dylusions…  A new line by Dyan… love these birds.. they are my favorite birds…  I love the crows…. Year round… not just a fall bird you know…  they were screaming in my front yard this morning… asking Mr. Sun to come out and play… but he didn’t… I keep on getting off the subject… but I am back I think… okay… I touched the Liquid Pearls and they are dry… so I glued the back ground onto my journal… and then the tag section… now for the embellishments…  the fun part to me… (actually it is all fun…  )

I got some hemp twine and wrapped that around the book and tied in a knot…  then added a hanger with the ARTFUL   Philosophy Tag on it…  put a bird on the line… and added the nest over it all…  a bird and flower at the top… and a little corner on it and I was done… I have to say that I LOVE THIS… it is so perfect for my Art Journal… as it is ME…

Okay… this is also for a few other Challenges that I haven’t mentioned…  Simon Says Stamp and Showchallenge this week is ANY THING GOES…

And on Grungy Monday… Linda thanks again for pushing me to do this technique… I love it…  and will put it into my technique book… a really nice one at that… We had to use a technique that Tim used in 2009 on the 3rd tag of the season...

So there you have my three challenges for the week that I do… all in one project… I have a lot of things that require me away from my blog as much as I like to be… but I will be posting some things that I have made during the past couple of weeks… so please come on back for another visit… thanks so much for stopping in today… and hope that you have a wonderful day in all ways…

Faerie Time

This project has been on my to do list for a long long time... and I was bound and determined to get this one done this season... Faeries are an all time favorite of mine year round... but I always think of them in the spring time...  coming out to help with the plantings and getting things ready for the up and coming spring planting of the farm..   we do plant Biodynamically and also Organically...  so it is a full expansion of all kinds of knowledge... including the faeries...

So this is my Faerie Box and Book... and it covers a few Challenges too...

This week on Sunday Stamper, Hels asked that we use Diamonds... so I used a lot of them in my Faerie book... and also on the box lid...

For Simon Says Stamp and Show... use bottles... so I have used some Idea-ology vials...  and used them for some special kinds of Faerie dusts...  one for Flying... one for Dreams... and one for sprinkle... (you know... just to sprinkle kind of Faerie dust...  )

Anyway... so here is the rest of  the project... I have only put up a few pictures... as each one takes over 14 minutes today.. sorry... the internet is very slow on dial up....
On the top of the box, I used a small old frame and put a picture from a Graphic 45 tag... the one with the faerie and the frog... an all time favorite...

And of course one of things that we are going to add more of this year to the farm... grow houses...  I put lace all around the frame... just to give it a nice touch for the faeries...

We had a lot of trouble last year with these large crows that came in and took over the watermelon patches... and so this year we are asking the faeries to help.. and to take the crows out to eat somewhere else...   so you can see the crows all around the box... these stamps are a new toy for me... I bought Dyan Reaveley stamps... and love them... try them... they are thru RANGER... where else... love these crows... some with words... some plain... but all FUN CROWS.. as I do love crows... even though they ate all our watermelon...

When you open the box you will see the birds on the inside too... blue birds and also a little faerie riding a crow too...  And the book is in the box... along with the bottles...

You will see a close up of both... so just hold on... LOL..
Here are the bottles... nestled in with a flower... faeries love flowers of all kinds... that is for sure...
On the side another large crow with a faerie riding on it's back...  and a purple "DIAMOND" butterfly...

This is inside the box...
The cover of the book... and yes a faerie is large in the back... this book was a childs board book... and it was a book about angels... so the large girl has wings... (she was an angel)  is that cool or what...   anyway... the dragonfly is done with Shrink plastic from Ranger... love that stuff too... I just got a melt pot and am going to start to play with that... I am a little scared to use it... I get burns really easy and am going to have to drape my body with a heavy cloth... LOL... I don't need that again... that is for sure... also have to wait for a nice day... as I want the doors open to the studio to vent out the plastics too... right???  If you have any tips, for me... please do leave them for me in the comments... I really appreciate it...
Any way... Here is one of the pages... they all have DIAMONDS on them, Hels... each page is loaded... as you can see...  Faeries love pretty things... and natural things too...  Diamonds are natural... right???  They come out of the ground... (sure do wish they grew in our soils... LOL... )

So there you have the Faerie box and book... I will try and get more pages and the whole thing up on my Art Between the pages Blog...  getting the pictures up is the time consuming part of it...

Thanks for taking a look see... hope to see you back tomorrow...

Capture Magic

When spring arrives here, all I can do is think about all the faeries getting out and stretching and getting ready for another farming season...
I love thinking of them and sending my love to help out in all ways around here...

So I have been using faeries in my art this week....This little one is guarding the butterflies... so cute...

This tag is a challenge tag for GRUNGY MONDAY  and Linda asked us to use Tim's 2nd tag of 2011as a guide... I loved doing the tags this Christmas... and also now love doing the monthly ones...  great ideas...   So this was a pleasure Linda...
I had just received my Chit Chat words... so I had to use them...  and I didnt' have any resist kraft paper... but I used one of Tim's paper from a pad that is sort of like the kraft resist...  I used picket fence distress stain on the paper... and then used a die cut and foam to create the swirl... which I have almost 99% covered up...  LOL...  but you can see a little tiny bot if behind the faerie...  then I used the butterfly stamp and Archival ink to create the line of butterflies...

THEN.... this is where I had a lot of fun... I used natural sticky canvas and cut the butterfly border die cut out... and then did that also with manilla paper... for the shadow...  I used Brushed corduroy and Victorian Velvet with my blending tool and colored the butterflies... I then used letters from Santa... love that word stamp... and put some words on the butterflies...

I also popped it a little bit for the dimensional aspects of it...
The tag needed something more on the top... so I added a tissue paper flower... I dyed the tissue paper with a mini mister... and I think it is a mix of Aged Mahogany and Fired brick dyes... and of course a little perfect pearls powder of some color... love that... great effects each and every time...

I added a few leaves for the dimensional power again...
The center of the flower is little white mulberry balls... and a few black stamen... I cut the leaves of the flower out and glued them into place...  a really fun flower...

So THANKS Linda for the GREAT Challenge... I loved doing it...
and thank you for all coming by today for a visit... hope you have a fun day creating something that you enjoy doing...

Little 5x7 Frame

Do you have a list of things that you want to do in life... or in your art???  Well I do... and it seems to be getting longer and longer as each day goes by... i keep on adding to it, and then I make something... and can take one item off this long long list... but still have about 6 more things to add to this list... well this is one of the things that I have been wanting to do... and that is to take a small 5x7 frame off the wall... (which had a card framed in it... that was at least 5-6 years old... and was nice when I made it... but needed to be up dated to say the least...)  You get the idea... refreshing things in the studio is the item on the list... something that will gradually get done... but not over night... LOL...
I took this card out of the frame, built a little shadow box and then had fun filling it...  attached to the frame and voila' it was ready to get hung on the wall...

You can see here that I have used all kinds of little pieces of paper... they were all hanging around on my work table... so they got used...  I had jsut received my new Tim stamp of Textile... and used it to print a slew of prints... this one is one of them...
I had some little stamped butterflies hanging around... and then made some flowers using my Tattered Floral die cut... but this time I used a sheet of mulberry paper... love that look... stiff but soft... added a little bow and some leaves.... love that division that I got...

More butterflies from a Tim stamp...
I also have a bin of papers that is labeled scraps... and every once in a moon... I take a piece of the paper and stamp it... just to see how the stamp looks on a certain color... this is one of those pieces...  Of course then I have to use it...  that is all part of the game...

Thanks for stopping by... and I do hope that you have a wonderful day... I am going to work on a fairy box... have been having fun with it... and hope to have it done today, so that I can share tomorrow...

Poppies in Purple

Okay, I wasn't  going to link this to the 12 Tags of 2012... but this was a take off on that challenge... I was trying to create mosaic butterflies... and so this whole card evolved from that and also my White on White class that will be at Scrapbook Creations on March 31...  Funny how things all come together on my work area!!!  Anyway... I also had a stack of mulberry papers... and found this small piece of plum hanging out... and I cut some leaves to make this flower...  and had them also sitting on my area... so it all went together really fast...
The flowers are full and pretty... I love them.. I wadded up white mulberry for the tiny little balls in the center of each flower... and then the leaves are my rubber stamp again...

The paper in the center... I created it months ago with Twinkling H20's... love those little pots of glimmer...
I used a scrap of Twinkling H20 paper to create the mosaic tiles for the butterflies wings...

Notice that the entire butterfly is not done.. only sections of the wings...  the other sections are painted...  LOL... parts here and there... to make a whole...

So again... a card that I will use for my class... and also enjoy on my desk for a few days...  I always keep something on my computer desk that I like... keeps me happy all the time... reminds me where I need to be... and that is not on the computer... it is playing in the studio!!!

Thanks for stopping by... and hope to see you tomorrow too...

Always something going on around here... that is for sure...
Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

PS.... have always loved doing mosaic things... even large projects like a wall mural once... long long ago.... fun things...

Try this on a small scale and see if you like it... then do something larger...  I bet you will have fun with it!!!
Enjoy...

Three different Mosaic Touches

Like I said... I really had a time with this theme... so here are some of the other tags I made for this challenge... LOL.. I still have more... but later...

This one on the right... DREAM, was really a fun tag to create...
I used The die cut DREAM and then put 1/2 of the tag thru the embossing folder... and then stamped the area around DREAM with Letters to Santa Words... (told you I would use that stamp year round)  and then took some letters from Lost and Found pad of paper by Tim and cut them out to create the word SPRING... then added mosaic pieces around that... I used Glossy accent on the pieces of purple paper...  I used 7 different Distress colors on this tag... and used pads, stains, mini misters, and all kinds of things... just had a BLAST!!!

My Butterfly is a three layered butterfly
that I cut using a Spellbinder die and then ran thru a cuttlebug embossing folder... glued them together to create this flying butterfly...

Total Bliss
Another type of tag... this one I used one of my entries from my art journal and added some goodies around it...
I finally bought the Textile stamp of Tims'... i have admired it for a long long time... and finally decided that I had to have it... so I played with that for a long time today...

I used all kinds of techniques and finally had a huge stack of these pretty papers.... and I used a few on this tag...  I love this stamp.... Anyway... I added the entry from my journal... a few stamped sheets of paper... and then some leaves on top of the paper lace up the side... and that other butterfly!!!  I love these pretty butterflies with the New Liquid Pearls on them...
So will my friend that I sent this too...  Hi Sandy in Michigan...

Okay... I did make some Mosaic butterflies... but really didn't like them enough to use them.... but I did play around with them... I think I will put them into my journal of techniques... which is getting to be HUGE... I might have to build a box to house them all... LOL... anyway... it was fun to play around with some new things... I made the flower using some Red Mulberry paper... and the other one using a soft organic paper...  all in all I had fun...

Hope you enjoy these tags...
And please take a look over at Tim's blog and check out all the neat tags that have been entered there... so many pretty ones... all very creatively done...

Thanks for stopping by today... hope you have a fun day...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

Butterflies of Spring

Well Tim released his March tag… and I was a little bewildered as to what to do… I am not into browns at all… so this was a huge problem for me…  so I started off and made a couple of tags and really didn’t like the way that they carried the theme that Tim had created.

So back to the drawing board…

Then I decided to take my mind off that tag and worked on a few samples for classes that I will be teaching… and then all of a sudden it came to me…

My    NEW    LIQUID    PEARLS….
YES!!! That is it….
WOW!!!
That was it…
So I gathered them all up and started to play with them….

I cut out ( using a few Spellbinder dies) some butterflies…  and then I started to play with all the new Liquid pearls… Have you seen all the NEW colors???
They are yummy… and I got them ALL…..I am a little addicted to all these pretty things… so I had to HAVE them all…
Anyway… I put different colors on each butterfly… and then came the hardest part…. Allowing them to DRY!!!!  I put them under the lamp and left my studio for a while.. that way I wouldn’t touch them…. My fingers get a little anxious…  I went and made some chocolate chip/walnut multi grain  cookies for my sweet hubby… he loved them.

So after they were all dry, I started to STACK them up… and created three really pretty butterflies…  one didn’t quite make it onto this tag… but it did go on another tag to a friend… I will share that with you later…

So here is my tag…

I used kraft paper… and then ran it thru my Big Shot with Tim’s  Wood embossing folder… I don’t have that stamp…  and I filled up the entire tag with embossing… I have a little trick so that I can fill up a longer than needed space… so that is good…  After that, I used a couple of Distress ink pads to add more color to the wood … and then more glimmer by using Cappuccino Perfect Pearls mist….  Oh I love it…

Can you see the glimmer on it??? It is really so happy....

Now you have to remember… I am NOT a person that likes using BROWNS…. So this is entirely out of the box for me in all ways…

( I had a few little tape measures on my work space… and glued them on the tag… just to get them off my work space.,.. LOL… )

Then made this pretty rose… again using Kraft paper… and when it was finished, I spritzed it with Cappuccino Perfect pearls mist… and did the same with the leaves… the leaf is my stamp, that I create from a sheet of eraser… cutting it out and using it over and over…

I glued all the leaves down and then started to work on my butterflies…  where to put them….

I wanted to add some words… but didn’t want to add a lot of words… so I picked a nice idea-ology…  and wanted some more color…  so I embossed it with some Adirondack embossing powder… (lettuce and Bottle!!! Don’t’ you just love it??? )

Okay… so I added some seam binding… which I colored with some mini misters that had copper tones and of course browns…

I think I really love the BROWNS….
And I LOVE my new Liquid Pearls…
Don’t’ forget to pick these up next time you are out shopping… in fact, make a special trip to get them… they are well worth it…
I have to say that I am really excited about this tag... The glimmering of it is so very pretty... an all the colors really stand out...

I did go out of the box and love the effects that I created...

Hope that you will try something NEW...
 It is always fun...
This picture is not the best... a little dark... but wanted to share as much of this tag as possible...

This will show you the depth of the butterflies on the tag... they are really pretty...

I love them...
Well, we had severe tornadoes all around us last night... but we were lucky and they passed over us... so today is a new day and hopefully no more tornadoes warnings today...  Have a good one... create to your hearts content and enjoy it all...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and please check out all the other tags on Tim's site....  they are so pretty... wish I had a faster speed so I could to to each site...  I would love to see each one up close and personal...

A little Match Book

I had all these cute little pictures left over... and really didn't know what to do with them... I couldn't throw them away... not me!!! So I cut them up and made a little match book 'album' with them... I used an old Sizzix die cut from at least 8 years ago... maybe not quite that long ago.. but a long time ago...

What do you think... cute enough huh???

There is a sad story to this little one... her Mama died minutes after she was born... sad, but life still goes on!!!  And this little one is the largest Lamb that has been born on this farm!!! So she is really special in so many ways... of course she has to be bottle fed every 4 hours... as another Mom will not feed her...

Just had to share that with you...

A large FLOWER

Another Square for the Quilt... yikes.. I love doing these ...just wish that I could spend all my time making this quilt... but I do have other things that are also just as important in my life... LOL...

This square I used all different things... I used a Liquid Pearl to draw the flower first!!!  And then colored in behind that... some of the colors ran... and that was fun too... I used a lot of liquid pearls, dimensional pearls and also stickles to accent this piece... each piece is going to be entirely different.. so that is one of the FUN parts of this whole project... I can hardly wait to see what it is going to look like when it is all finished... I have not idea yet what it will be like... hopefully a wonderfully fancyfull quilt...

In this picture you can see the pearls a little better... so much fun...

Hope you have a fun day creating too...

Lambing ... continued

Well as the story continues from the other day......
Sande and I pulled up and got into the 4x4 Kubota and zipped out into the pasture to miss by seconds the baby dropping from it's mom... but that is okay... as we got to see the rest of the process... I have seen babies being born prior... so that was okay...  BUT I did want to treat this little baby as special, as it was the first the baby LAMB I have seen being born...
So this is how I created a special page for this little one... (March 3 I will share the entire book... it takes a while for me to get all the pictures up... so sorry... )

So I used a Sizzix embossing folder and created the front panel... and then used different Distress colors and mists on the paper to get a really lovely look...  The flowers are very layered... and then I trimmed this out with BLACK...
and of course made it a panel that opens...  and this is what you see...
I had to share this PRECIOUS picture of the baby... as it is just a few minutes old... the other baby that you see laying down is about 30 minutes old at this point...

The Mother is now anxious to get them moved and into a safer area... all the NEW MOMS are put together with their babies...
The top folder...  made from K&Co paper and a Martha Punch...  holds this tag..
I used the pine tree embossing folder and then a few different Distress inks to color the tag... then put the New MOMS with their precious ones under the trees... as there are pine tress all over the farm...
Here is the picture of about 4 minutes after this baby was dropped... (born)  the other Mom's in waiting are looking at all that is going on...

(I used another embossing folder on this side of the tag...  and colored it with more Distress inks... do you think I like them??? Wrong... I LOVE THESE inks... LOL... so easy to use and the colors fit my needs too...
Well... that is a special moment in my week... and I think it will be for quite some time... seeing babies being born of any kind is always a SPECIAL happening... New LIFE is wonderful... as is each and everyone of our lives... all very special in our own unique ways...

This section of this book is for Stamper Sunday and for Simon Says Stamp and Show...
Check out these blogs and see all the pretties that have been made for these same themes...
Thanks for stopping in... and now back to uploading more pics for you to see more of this book...
