Save the Honey BEE

We all need to work towards saving the Honey Bee...  using no chemicals and only growing organically will help... insect sprays are also very harmful to these tiny little  creatures...  we are all one and need to remember that...

I haven't done a challenge in so very long... but had a few hours this afternoon to fiddle around... and so I took my newest die... which I have been using a lot of this past couple of weeks... I will show you that too...  but first the April Tag  using Tim Holtz's site and challenge....

Here are a few pictures of my tag...

When looking at the tag, you will see that I did put two flowers... made with the tattered pinecone die cut... but the paper I used was white cardstock with some of tim's tissue wrap  glued onto it... it doesn't stick too good after I put all the distress stains on it... BUT it gives a 2nd and 3rd layered look.. .I love it...  I also added a few bees.. since I used the honeycomb die cut...

Here's what the tag looks like over all.. I just felt the button balances all that is going on over on the left side of the tag... LOL...  (how can one little button help that... oh well.. )

I was able to use scraps and bits and pieces of grunge board to make the honey comb as it fits nicely.
The ribbon of course is dyed using my distress stains.. I used Victorian Velvet... my favorite color in the whole pallete... and then I used some metallic brass... love the colors in real life...

A close up of the BEE... with all the glitter on its pretty wings...  **Note to self... get more colors in glitter...  really fun stuff...

I also used some small scraps of paper and punched out a lot of centers of the honey comb...  I will use them over the next few months etc...  I loved having the ability to add a little color here and there in the back ground with meaning...

The leaves are also layered with the Tissue Wrap... and they are really soft and fluff...  I used a couple of colors on the leaves and have to say I wasn't really happy with the color.. .and finally added a few brownish colors and that was good.

I used Tim's clear glitter on the bees wings... in fact I have made so many bees over the last couple of weeks that I used a whole jar ... better get some more.. this is a staple product here...

I also used some distress stain all the way around the tag...  love the way that it looks... what do you think???

I bought the honey comb die cut, as my daughter is giving my Daughter in law a baby shower in May... and I offered to make the invites...  so this what I did.. for them...

First off I didn't make just ONE..  but I totally enjoyed making them... that is for sure.. and I also made the envelopes too...
As you can see they have honey comb all over them...  The bee is the same as I used on the tag above... in fact I still have three bees left over...

The sunflower I used the Tattered flower die cut and used baby wipes to create a light fluffy flower...  and of course some distress inks to create the color...

Here is the envelope and the front of the invite... it opens into two move octagon shapes... love it... lots of places to stamp bees and have them flying all around..

But then... if you are having a Ba BEE shower... you also will need Thank You notes... so this is where I used the honey comb ... and had tons of fun doing these...  I made the bee a little bit larger... and used all kinds of 12 x 12 pieces of Tims papers for the fill ins...  also some mirrors, heart papers, papers I made for the pink and blue areas... and just had a blast....

Hope you enjoyed all the BEE info today... and know that you will have fun with this die cut... am now waiting to get a few more too...  they are really a nice addition for backgrounds... love it...

Have a super wonderful day... stay warm if you live in the eastern part of the US...  Create something fun today...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and hope you will return often to see all the other things I create...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
