Frilly and fun

This week Mother Marks Famous Tea Pot Tuesday challenge is to make a card for this gal that needs some uplifting spirit energy work... She also loves The Unsinkable Molly Brown... as her grandmother works at the Museum of the Unsinkable Molly Brown.. So we are suppose to do a card with a lot of GREENS... ooopps... mine is a lot of PINKS... but it is suppose to frilly.. and lovely, and feminine and mine is all of those so I guess it will pass..
Above is the front of the card... I used Cuttlebug Embossing Plus folder called Brocade Door
as I love the effect of that rich embossing... and the opening.. .
I put some flowers by Pretties by Bonnie around the bottom of the card..
Of course I painted the digital flowers with my twinkling H20's.. and because they are digital, I was able to use the same pattern and make two different size flowers...
Now one thing I have found to be really nice with flowers... is that if you make the top flower a little bit smaller, you can really give dimension to the flower in so many additional ways... so actually there are 4 different size flowers...
I used Liquid pearl by Ranger around the centers of the flower... and then put a pearl in the center to make a statement...
The leaves are from the Dogwood Digital set... You can so mix and match all the flowers, leaves, branches etc... really a lot of fun to play with and use..
As you can see I have a nice big pink bow on the side to close the card... more frills.. that is all.

When you open the card, you will see this.. .
The background is a lime sheet of cardstock punched with Martha's flower punches...
Then a pretty pink floral paper... a little old fashioned, yet really new...
Then I used a spellbinder oval scalloped to frame the white oval..
On the pink I added a pearl for each scallop... more frills.
and then on the white oval, I used a cute border from Just Rite Stamps.. Love them
The woman??? I don't know where I got her from... but isn't she wonderful...
In all her regal-ness... large brim hat, flowers all over her... and a lovely rose at her neck...
So prim and proper she is sitting there...
Reminds me of the Unsinkable Molly Brown..
So that's the card for Tea Pot Tuesday...
Thanks for taking a look.. more cards will follow soon...
In fact tomorrow there is a fun Under the Sea card... check it out...
Thanks for stopping by... and love to have you visit..

Here are a few more cards that can be changed over to bridal cards... Take a look at all the Bridal items on Cuttlebug challenge Blog.. Okay... here are few more cards to share with you.. .this one is done with the new Swirl folder... and then the center cut with Spellbinders... love it.. layers going down and then up...

So much fun... Added some Grand lace... and a bow... wow..

This is a card for a sweetie... Lace top and bottom, and then I used the tiny heart folder for the background... love that as much as I love the dotted swiss... wow.. .(Heart is also a cuttlebug die cut and then embossed... )

The heart is colored in with watercolor pencils... and then a little time bit of water added.. just to brighten them up..

I created the flowers with some punches... and put pearls in the centers...

A good Friend of mine and Blog Follower.. SARAH!!! Made this poinsettia for me for Christmas... I just couldn't put it away... so I create this card to showcase it... Sarah created this poinsettia as an ornament... I have to add also that Sarah is 90 Years young... right Sarah??? She is a very very talented woman..

All Martha Stewart corner punches ... but the background is my fav... dotted swiss.. after all I had to add that... lots of seed pearls all the way around it too..

New Cuttlebug Folders Card

EDIT:  January 31, 2013

I have had so very many requests for these cards... so I have made them available in kits...
For more information... please contact me...

Okay.. .I got some new Cuttlebug folders the other day like I told you.. and wow.. have I been having fun with them.. .I cut and emboss everything in white cardstock and then start to layer and recut more, and layer more.. take away... add more... use some spellbinders... add some flowers... add some swirls... take away... add some birds... like them... will keep... cut some more leaves... dont' like that paper... paint some paper, with Twinkling H20's.. they need to shine... This is how it goes... almost 12 hours of it..
And then I start to see what I liked... and what I am going to keep and what goes... this is the finished product... totally opened...

But when closed... it looks like this..
on the left... (or where ever it ends up.. I still can't figure out how these pictures are going to end up.. never the same on here.. but life goes on... )

Anyway.. this is made with Lace Door Folder... it is cut and embossed , but there is a center to it also.. which is still on the table being patient for it to be used on something else.. I then mounted that on a corner and border sheet with Martha's punches.. and then mounted that on scored paper... the heart was put onto the heart shaped hole that was cut thru all the layers... you can sort of see some of the purple ... but not much.. At the bottom of each one of the panels is the Grand Lace Border by Spellbinders... A bow and ribbon is on the top part of each one of the lace borders..

Okay.. .so now you start to open the card...

And this is what you see... on the left you will see He Loves Me folder... and the back side of the heart from the cover of the card... it is mounted onto another Heart border and corner sheet using a Martha punch set.. which is used thru out all the pages..

On the right you will see the scored paper and a dragonfly... the dragonfly is two stickers... each one put onto acetate and then cut out and layered to look like they are ready for take off... Then mounted onto the panel..so that all the wings are free to fly away...

Here is a close up of the dragonfly and the heart which I cut to follow the die of of He loves me folder..

When you look into the heart you will see the purple flowers now.. that is for sure...

and a few of the pearl centers... peeking out at you..

Then you open this page...

and this is the center of the card... In all it's glory...

This panel is created with Brocade Window folder ... and I used it on Parchment paper so that I could do a little -->pergamano... Which I did... and then I lined it with a very delicate lavendar paper... I also added a little bit of another folder called Elegant Elllipse... it is just the outside top part of it... down at the bottom of the opening you will see one of the labels... which is painted with twinkling H20's... as are the flowers... which are all from Pretties by Bonnie .

This gives a very elegant center focal point to this card...
I love this card... and I think it is my very favorite card that I have made at this point... tomorrow another ... and then the beat goes on as they say..

I had quite few inquiries today from gals about these folders... asking pricing etc... they are not the usual price of the Cuttlebug Embossing folders... because they are not like them at all.. this folders look different, perform different and also are FANTASTICALLY WILD... I love them.. you can really build and build with them.. all different kinds of things..

Here is a close up of the center... and also of the label area... the shine on the paint is so wonderful.. .that is why I love it so very much..
I used paints and also markers to create the color on the parchment paper... and also white and gold gel pens for detailing..

The little birds were added to give some more life and movement to the card... you need to have life with flowers or they look unreal...

The flowers all have a pearl in the center... and are glued onto the parchment... with a quick drying glue... I am having a lot of problems with zots and foam squares not sticking... my house is warm in the winter... above the average household... we heat with wood and the stove is under my studio... ugh!!!! and then in the summer I really can't have the AC running.. so it is hot then also.. so maybe that is the problem... but either way.. I am starting to use more and more glues.. and find that it works better... my cards are staying together!!!! YEAH!!!

This is another close up.. and the final picture..

So go to your local store and see if they have these in stock... buy them all.. as one gal wrote today on SCS... as I put a card up using some of the other folders... and she had seen them and didn't buy them... her comment was "<--- ...="" 4="" a="" all..="" all="" also="" am="" and="" are="" at="" back="" be="" beautiful="" by="" couple="" create="" day..="" day.="" day="" dont="" enjoy="" even="" few...="" find="" folders="" for="" friends="" fun="" get="" great...="" greatly...="" had="" hands...="" hanger="" have="" having="" her="" hope="" href="http://www.cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/" i="" in="" into="" is="" kicks="" locally...and="" lol..="" love...="" love="" make="" messy="" might="" more="" of="" on="" other="" out="" over="" play..="" putting="" results...="" see="" seen="" self="" she="" shopping...="" so="" some="" someone="" something="" stacy...hope="" still="" store="" sure..="" than="" thanks="" that="" the="" them.="" them="" they="" those="" to="" too..="" town="" trouble="" unhappy...="" us="" we="" well="" will="" wonderful="" wonderfully="" you="" yourself...="" yourself="">Cuttlebug Challenge Blog for a chance to win some wonderful prizes and also to see some FANTASTIC Wedding accessories... Confection cards

EDIT :  January 31, 2013
I have had so very many requests for these types of cards that I do have kits available...

Contact me for more information

Today I have a couple of new things to share with you... NEW CUTTLEBUG Folders... and they are entirely different that the ones we are use to... in all ways... First off they CUT and EMBOSS at the same time... So much fun... After this week, I will do a little bit something different and show you how it works up close...

This week though is the Wedding Affaire at Cuttlebug Challenge Blog... so if you want to see more .... go to the site... click on wedding affaire above.. it will take you there..

Okay... now... this card has an over lay of templates... and so it is really hard to get an idea of what I used... but I just had to do this card... it was screaming to be put up... and to be made in this manner... I really wanted to do these first couple of cards very simple so you could see the folders... This also has some Spellbinders lace on each end... Anyway.. wanted to share this one with you...
Okay..
This is one folder called He Loves Me... and when you emboss it, it cuts the heart out... wow..

I popped the heart just for some depth so you could see the heart a little bit better... Of course I had to add a butterfly and some flowers... come on.. it wouldn't be a card with out something on it..

I will be playing with this one a little bit more... and you will see it change over the next few weeks... keep in touch... LOL

This card I really had fun with...
There are two new folders used on this one... the dark purple and the parchment center are one folder... Elegant Ellipse
The white is another... Brocade Window... both are essential to own... yikes... so much fun for this style of card...

The white I left along, except to tie a lavender ribbon around and add some flowers to it... just to show that area off...

The center area... I used copic white opaque paint on the back of the parchment paper... and the purple also has a very delightful design all around it... but due to the darkness of the paper you really can't see it.. not even close up...

As you will see below...

But I did want you to see it... as the detail in these two folders are really elegant and quite dynamic in all ways...

Here are some other cards that you might have seen on here prior, but I am trying to stay with the Wedding affaire this week on the
Cuttlebug Challenge Blog so I hope you enjoy these again... As you can see.. the background on this is a much used folder... and then some spellbinders to accent the sentiment... some flowers and DONE!!!

I had just gotten this tulip template and had to use it... I still love it, and enjoy it for spring or for floral occassions... like a wedding, or bridal shower or tea...

Another card that I loved making was this Easel card... layers of dotted Swiss and a few simple daisies.. the scalloped oval is pin pricking... and very detailed... but if you want something to look elegant and swish... go for it... the Ultimate in giving a card or invitation...

WEll... I do hope that you have enjoyed these today.. and I will have some more tomorrow...

Reds, and also maybe a surprise... IF I get it done...

Have a super nice day...
Enjoy doing something CREATIVE...

White with some PINK

I love pinks... seems to be a very feminine color with green... soft, making a statement of sweet and lovely... so I use it a lot these days...

Here are a few of the cards that I felt still had a bridal feeling to them... I would use them for any number of bridal affair's.. from a Tea to a breakfast... and also even an informal invitation...PLEASE go to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog everyday to see all the pretties that are being shown each day... There are prizes being given and it is a special Wedding Affaire and a truly really pretty spread of loveliness in all ways... take a look and see.

This one I used the Scrollwork Embossing folder... and one of the spellbinder labels for the center cut out... I love to make tea bag medallions and also tea bags...in fact will be putting up some CD's soon that I have made with 1000's of tea bags, and also over 50 folding medallions on each one.. .

Anyway this is one of the many wreaths.. and then I put some soft small silk flowers with it... a little soft yellow bow... I am really starting to love yellow..

Playing with some of Martha's punches I criss crossed some of the panels... added a paper flower and some small silk ons... and love the delicateness of this one.. I can see this in all white too.. love it.. with a nice white rose... nice for a bridal thank you card...

This little card is only 4X5 and I love the frame on the top of the card.. .a wonderful way to send a shower invitation.. .
I used the cherry blossom cuttlebug folder on the background... and double layered the spellbinder to give it a frame around the sentiment... a few paper flowers... and little bird nesting...

This card is literally not finished... I did enter it into a challenge... but prior to sending it, will add a panal on the right of the flower with a more meaningful sentiment...

All white layers.. one on top of the other for the flower to sit on.. just like a wedding cake... adn then three layers underneath that... a lovely bridal table setting..

Of course if the bride sent this as a thank you to her bridal party, she would add the color of their dresses... what a nice touch...

I again made this for a challenge a couple of weeks ago... so spring like... but what bride wouldn't love to receive this..

The butterfly is all glittery and the lilac is clear gloss... simple, and plain... and so much fun...

This was made for a little girls birthday... but wanted to show you the layers and the color added... lots of pearls and a little touch of pink... the little girl can be replaced with any number of bridal items...

The bottom deep paper lace is made with a spellbinder... and the Floral dot and dotted swiss are naturally Cuttlebug folders...

Hope that you have enjoyed these... a little bit more color... mainly pinks... and more texture and ribbons add to the cards...
I have more to show you tomorrow... we are getting in the purples.. only a few... but very pretty.. Thanks for stopping by... see you tomorrow... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

With a little color added

Here are some that a little color has been added to them... but each and every one of these could be done in all white too.. working in all white is really no different than using colors... you just have to add textures and depth and it is all fun there after.

On this one, I use the dotted swiss folder...by Cuttlebug... and even though the card is 5x 7 I extended the paper and embossed it twice... be careful not to go over the edges of the template the 2nd time... leave a full sheet of dotted swiss... that you can use for a card back ground... Or else... now Cuttlebug has a 5x7 polka dot embossing folder... the dots are a little bit larger... not quite as delicate... but still very nice.

I have to add a side note here... sometimes when I am in my studio, I have to spend some quiet time... to think, to plan out a card, to just spend some time doing nothing... just to meditate with self. so I will grab some white paper and cut out things using my spellbinder templates... and so I always , generally, will have some white things to play with... when I was building this card, this was laying on the space next to where I was working... so I picked it up and used it... I added alittle saying on one panel and then a couple of flowers I had drawn, and the little bird on a nest... Very simple and cute... no bow... nothing to draw away from the focal point... which was the build up of the spellbinder papers...
This card was again another 5x 7 and so I ran the Textile cuttlebug folder thru the bug twice... with this design you really cant see the overlay of the designs.. so it was very easy... I have published a 'few' doodle books and wanted to use a few on my cards... this is one and you can purchase this one at Pretties by Bonnie and use it in a lot of different ways... this is one that I have used it on.. I did copy it, and then cute it out... lightly coloring the flower and leaves.. and then popped it onto a circle (spellbinder) and then cut out a lot of Martha's corners of this particular punch... and glued them onto the circle... to create the medallion...

The butterfly I also ran thru my Cuttlebug with the dotted swiss folder... and added some pearls in the center. A pale blue ribbon was used to finish the look.

This card literally came together by itself... I am sure you have had that happen at least a couple of times too.. I had a bunch of things on my studio table... and had to make a card really quickly... and all of a sudden there it was, sitting there looking at me... so I glued it all together ...

I had just bought this large eyelet punch... (actually Marie, my enabler... and also FRIEND... had just bought it ... she lives close to a Mike's and uses a 40 or 50 off coupon... what a friend she is... in many ways... ) Anyway, I had been playing with that... and had quite a few examples on my table.. and then the swirl Cuttlebug paper was laying there... I had just made this flower and had added it to Pretties by Bonnie line... so that was there... added a piece of green paper and was done... wow.. that was quick... actually it just took me longer to write about it than it did to put it together... Of course the paper color and the leaves match to make it a very simple card... the more color you add, the more complex it will look...

This card was a casing... the gal who originally made this card is called Cathleen Torina, a Paper Doll, and she makes some of the prettiest cards... This one is very simple, plain and yet so very delicate and yummie... The card is made with the large deep cut punch by Martha Stewart, and used on the top and bottom... then a few little flowers added with the panel and bow... and done...

How pretty is that... That can certainly be done in all white ... as a matter of fact come back tomorrow and you will see it done for a Christmas card...

Hope you have been trying your hand at some of these cards... Adding your own personal touches makes it YOU... so make sure you add a little of you... that is very important...
Thanks for stopping by and visiting... hope to see you tomorrow again...

More bridal ideas and others...

Yesterday I forgot to add the front of the purple card... so I have added it today so that you can see the way that I 'do' close some of these cards..
and of course it is top quality double faced satin ribbon... and again hand painted flowers on the medallion that I made with a Spellbinder template.

It is really a very pretty card... perfect that special person in your life... or a daughter that is a special person all the way around.

This is a special little card... and little it is... only 3 X 3 inches... just enough room to say I love you and sign it... and in the little box.. a gift for the bride and groom.. I made the rose and the other little flowers on it...

Small is sometimes very elegant in all ways..

This is a card that I made this week for a challenge on SCS and it was mailed to another couple with their wedding present in it... and lots of love...

She is having a very special wedding and after the reception they are releasing 100's of butterflies... (that they have bought) what fun is that... So I had to put a butterfly on this card for them...

I also love to create with a pin... and this was a design that I drew and then put a pin through the paper to create the design..

A couple of spellbinders built up and a butterfly and the card was done...

I love the ocean and all things in it... The purity of the ocean is long since gone... but I wanted to preserve this thought in my mind... so I made this all white beach card...

I did add a little pink to the shells for some contrast... but that is okay.. .

That is also REAL lace on the bottom of the card..

I love making these cards... and have a couple more to show you tomorrow... and the next day and so on all week long... so come on back and see some more tomorrow...

Don't forget to take a peek at the beauties on www.cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com also... I can hardly wait to see all the goodies... All for the BRIDE!!!!

Hope you have a nice day... and stay cool... we are in the high 90's today... very hot and humid... so stay cool if you live in the south... Enjoy your day no matter where you live... and create something fun ...

Cards fo Sweetheats of all kinds

This week on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog, we are having a fun time with paper and brides... since I am new to the Design Team, I didn't have the correct paper that is being used... so I am starting off this whole week with a tutorial I made for this card... All white for the bride... and filled with love... The one on the tutorial is a little bit different... but very similar... this one I did send to a bride... she is Beth's (On the Cuttlebug Design Team) Mom's wedding.. and she is in her young 80's... and is marrying her sweetheart.. so I had to make them a card..

I added flowers to this one... which you can do too. Do the tutorial and then add your own style to it.. or even add color on some of the layers..

Here are a few I have done over the past few months..

This card was made for a Valentines Special.. it closes like a book... and is all tied up with double faced satin ribbon.. All the flowers are hand drawn and painted with Twinlking H20's.. and naturally all hand cut out...

This Card was sent to My MOM for Mother's Day... it was sent in a 12 X 12 box... and it is still in there... she loves it... and carries it all over the place to show everyone in the assisted living home she is in.. I am sure everyone has seen it at least three times... but who can remember anyway... it is always a surprise!!! Funny but true.. This one is a little bit different in that I scored the background.. (My mother is partially blind.. .macular degeneration. so I try and make things as tactil as possible or so that shades show up..

Again... all the flowers are hand painted and cute out... as are the leaves... they are all available on Pretties by Bonnie... you can go directly there by clicking on the side bar of this blog.. They are all painted with twinlking H20's.. I added the butterfly as an afterthought... as my Mom has just told me that she can see yellow really well.. but reds not too good.. I wasn't about to rip off the pink flowers... but will use different colors next time.. She still loves it... and everyone has told her that the flowers are pink... Pink and green are her favorite colors..

This was one of my first multilayered tri paneled cards... I just used different punches.. but I still love this one.. just different that is for sure..

I also put a border using a spellbinder template.. Again the flowers are painted and cut out but hand..

I hope that you enjoy these ... and try one for yourself... I would love to see it, so please tell me where you have posted it.. Thanks...
Check back on Monday for more of this style card... for Brides and others...

Thanks for stopping by... and see you on Monday again..
Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie
