Poinsettias of PEACE

Well FINALLY I got some time to PLAY...  it has been rather hectic around here for the past couple of months... but I think we are starting to get back to normal little by little...

LOL...

(can anyone really tell me what
NORMAL is in all reality??? )

Okay... so I played and
the INSPIRATION
was Hels Sheridan's

I wanted to do a little Christmas thingy...
and so I did...

It has a very earthy theme to it though...

The White stands for the angelic forces
around us at all times in our daily lives...

The Green is for the love and energy that we live from....
the plants give us the oxygen we need to
breathe and live,
and also the good veggies
that we ingest...   The living earth mother ...

The Brown background is
multi colored browns and
also GOLD
for the richness of our soils
that give us the life we are living...

The BLUE is the Sky connection...
The heaven above us...

PEACE is alive with the glitter to bring
attention to the fact we are all one,
and we need to start to live as one...
loving each other in all ways....

A little intense???
Life is so beautiful in all ways,
and we need to give thanks all the time,
every day to the GLORY of it...
So I wanted to share with you this feeling...

I hope you are having a wonderful day
and that each day gets to be a little bit better...
THINK LOVE.

So here is my tag...

I am not sure that you can actually see the background...
but I did have fun making it...
and Hels, I was INKY plus...
finally I took some really wet gold
and splattered it all over the background...
What fun it was...
Clean up was not fun...
but a necessary chore after having FUN...

The centers of the poinsettias
I used Pink Blush liquid pearls,
and then poured some Glossy accents into the center,
after they dried... and then put some rock candy glitter...
Love the effect of it...

I think I will put this onto a white bag for a gift bag...
I need to use some of my white bags up...
I bought way to many a few years ago... LOL..
if that a form of hoarding????
Oh well...
So be it...

I hope you have a wonderful day....
create to your hearts content,
and even enjoy the clean up...
Thanks so very much for stopping by for a visit.

Sweet and Frilly

I LOVE to make these fussy and Frilly cards... all white with a flash of color on the flowers...  anyway... it is a pleasure to make one of these fun cards... the first one I made was about 9 years ago now... and I guess I have made over 50 of these cards... I honestly lost count...  but I make them for weddings, for special occasions... and just because someone needs love...   a special card... as this takes quite a while to make one...  the size of the card is 8.5 inches tall and the width when closed is only 6 inches wide... and about an inch thick...  I generally send it in a box... as it is special enough to be put into a box...  at least I think it is...

The front of the card is all white...
and there is 4 layers of paper on this section.

At the base there is paper lace and also cotton lace...  with a little white bow...

The back layer is made with Martha Stewart Punches... and then a layer of Cuttlebug embossing folders...  and then the paper lace is made with a Spellbinder...

When you start to open the card... this is what you see...

The paper is scored for texture... and also the heart goes from the front of the card to the center of the card...

These flowers are made with Tim Holtz's Tattered floral die... the mini one... and I used distress inks on the white paper...  the leaves are hand cut out by me...

You can click on any picture to see a larger one...

Peeking thru is the center of the card...

When you continue to open the card...
you will see the first left side of the card...

I have taken a few extra pictures... so that you can see the actual dies etc... but the paper I used is all WHITE cardstock...  nothing special... just ordinary WHITE CARDSTOCK...

When the card is entirely open
this is what it looks like...

5 layers of paper are underneath the Vellum  (which is embossed with another cuttlebug embossing folder...
I love these folders.. and when I was on the Design team I use to use them all the time... they were some of my favorites...
I have not seen many people use them... and they are really so very elegant to me...  you can also stencil with them...

the saying...

DREAM

a garden of good wishes

Some more flowers...  just enough for color and variety to this card...

I so hope that you have enjoyed this card... it is a really fun card to make and a little difficult... but to me, so very well worth it... I have made them in all colors... and had gals make some in colors I would never dream of using... and they are also very elegant in all ways...

I am entering this in two Challenges today...

My summer garden is the food that we raise... it gives us love in nourishing our bodies and thus this cards symbolizes that...  Pink is a heart charka color for LOVE...
and so is GREEN.

Thank You very much for stopping by for a visit today... and also for any comments you should leave behind... I love them all..  and cherish each one that you write...  I appreciate them all...

hope you have a great day and can find time to create something that makes your heart happy, for you and others...

Using up things that I have fun making...

I love to create different things when I have the time to really experiment…  some times I don’t honestly feel like making a  whole card… but I feel like making flowers… or cutting with my BIG SHOT.. which is working GREAT now.. new parts and running super good… smooth as silk…

So this is sort of card made from a few days worth of things that all started to pile up on my work table…  I had made a bunch of roses… using Tim’s Tattered Pine Cone Die… love that one… never made a pinecone… as I really don’t like the way that they look… but I LOVE the way the roses come out… LOVE IT…  I made about 4 dozen of them…

sometimes I will make some buds… I will tear the ‘rose’ shape in half… using the first part of the cut out and then using the later part… I hope you understand what I mean… if you have the die you should be able to know what I am talking about… this way I get two small buds from One CUT out FLOWER…  you can see one of the buds on the top right section of these flowers…  99% of my flowers are made from white card stock that I have painted using different inks, paints, etc… you see that is another thing that I love to do and that is to create a lot of papers ready to play with…  The leaves were cut out by hand using a sheet of paper that I had stenciled on… LOL… waste not want not…  a good motto…

Then I had been playing with a Spellbinder die cut set that I hadn’t really ever cut out all the pieces too… so I cut out all the dies… from the largest to the smallest…  and used 3 of the 5 here…  I again used my newest little mini distress ink pads with a round blending tool… love the way they put the ink onto the paper…  nice and I am very able to control the flow of where I really want the ink to land…

I also love to play with my Just Rite Stamps…  and so I had quite a few of them ready to go… some of them are my favorites..  this is one that was laying on my work table… and so I inked it up and used it for this card… I do have the Dies to cut these shapes out… but prefer to do it by hand…  ??? Just love being a cut up… LOL…

Do you like to buy unique pads of paper… I do… strange aren’t we..???  anyway. .I have a BIN of 6x6 pads… and love to look thru them, and grab a background to use for a card or page in a scrapbook…  that is what happened here…  a 6x6 piece of paper was meant to be in the background here…

Oh yes… and a Cherry Lynn Butterfly… which I love, but will not be using these dies anymore… read all about why in yesterdays blog…

So after seeing all these things laying around in a bin ready to be used… I can make a card in less than 10 minutes… as everything is done… just have to play around with where you want things to go… and then find your glue stick…  hardest part…

Thanks for listening and reading all my words…  I am a wordy person…  LOL… love sharing though and I hope you enjoy it too..  Have a GREAT day… and see you back here again  tomorrow…

More Yellow FLOWERS...

Daisies from Short Hills NJ… use to drive thru thee every morning on my way to work at the Psych hospital…  pretty area of NJ back then… suppose it is a lot like city now…  malls and roads…

Oh well… life does go on…  this is the same picture that I used yesterday… only this is the way the original vintage picture looked…  I thought it was like a seed packet front… so I made a little envelope to represent this… and then used a fun background… long story short as I can make it…

I love the cherry Lynn dies.. but have never been able to use them successfully… so since I now have high speed service… I googled them and found out what I was doing wrong… so I grabbed my dies and started to play with them… and within a few minutes I heard this LOUD POW!!!!!  My Big shot had popped it’s cork…  not kidding…  I had broken it… I was heart broken…  ( I still had my cuddlebug, but that is not as strong as the Big Shot)   anyway.. I finally put the dies away and will not be using them again…  (by the way… I was able to get parts for my BIG SHOT… by calling Ellison and talking with this really wonderful person named Lisa  …. Got all the new parts for the machine… for a grand total of only $21.00… wow… LOVE It….  Still will not be using the Cherry Lynn dies…  LOL… not worth it…

Anyway… I did cut a couple of  these out.. and used this one for the background… I filled in the daisies with some Liquid Pearl by Ranger… Even though you can’t see it all… they are all filled in…

The ruffles and daisies on the bottom… just frills for a pretty card…

Love this one so very much… it will have to go into my keeping bin… other cards I do sell.. so if you are interested, just write to me at bonniemclain626@gmail.com  I will quote you the price and get it into the mail for you if you wish to purchase it…

Hope you have a fun filled day of playing with your paper, scissors, glue and toys…  I am going to play some this afternoon… can hardly wait…

Thanks for stopping by for a visit… and I hope to see you back here tomorrow…

Making Medallions

I wanted to share a few more cards with you...  soooooo  here they are...

Since I happen to love tea bag folding I decided to create a whole edge with folded tiles...  there are double around this oval shaped card stock...  and then I found the most perfect rose and butterfly to coordinate with it..  LOVE IT...

Most of the time with tea bag folding you try and make the card as simple as possible... to draw the attention to the medallion.. and also to just enjoy the simplicity of the card...  I also love to make many layers on each card... a little conflicting at times... but I always seem to win!!!  I love this type of card, as I can do both... easy and also many layers...  this is the simple one...

**********************

And this one is a little more complicated... as it has a medallion in the center section too...

Very easy card fold... just make a normal card and then fold the front back to the center again...  easy and then you have three areas you can decorate.. love areas...

A really pretty card in so many ways... of course what hand made card isn't pretty???  I personally haven't seen too many that I don't think are really special...  just because someone has taken their time... part of their life to create something to give to someone else... that is a gift in itself...  enjoy handmade gifts of all kinds..

The pictures of this card came out very dark... ??? not really sure why... but the background on this card is wall paper... YES Sheila, I used some of the wall paper that you so graciously shared with me... I love it all... hope you know that...

This medallion is also a relative new medallion to me... and I have to say that I do love it..  looks like layers upon layers... love it ...

Well another day.. another medallion... another Card... another creation... what are you up to today???

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and hope to see you  again soon... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

HI to all of you.... so very sorry that it has been so very long since I have posted anything .... but the only excuse is that I have been very busy with so many other things...

Teaching, cooking up harvested things..,  getting ready for the Ag Center Saturday markets... all that kind of thing...  and on top of it... just having fun in the studio making all kinds of goodies...

So I thought after getting so many loving letters from ya'll that I had better share something with you...

Yesterday Sande... my Bud and neighbor came down to play...  she is having surgery this morning... and so my thoughts and love are with her for a QUICK Recovery ... but we did get to play prior to her having to stay home and stay quiet for a while...

So this is what I did while we played...

So I used a Tim Holtz box and re-arranged it a little bit...  putting a small one on the bottom, the largest in the middle and then a little one on the top...

I wanted the tree to section to be crowded...  which I did get that look with very few items in the box...

What fun Sande and I had...  She also created a wonderful box... entirely different than mine... all in Red, white and gold... but differently done...  and very elegant and pretty too...

This is the center of the box...
In the very background I did use a watercolor of little trees...  against a pink sky... which we see so very often here at dusk...

I used a gold garland around the tree and then used all different size pearls  to decorate it...

Oh the lantern..????
WAit...  until you see that all lite up... I love it..
On the very top is a little tiny tree all decorated too.. with sequins and pearls... and also some picket fence around all the pearls...  (Stickles that is... )

A little pair of ice skates are hanging there ready to be used... LOL... so much fun...

I had to wait until it got dark so that I could take this picture of the glimmering lantern...  I love the way it looks...

I am going to be selling this and others like this at the Ag Center Saturday markets...  in Mill Spring, NC...  What fun we all have there too...  so many people to meet and see...
Down in the bottom box... I have a votive light... and it shows up the little houses all in the circle...

Hope you have enjoyed this... I certainly did... and will try and take pictures of the other ones to share with you also...

Hope you have a wonderful day... create something fun and enjoy what you are doing all the time...  Thanks for stopping by for a visit...

Frames

I have been trying to make a few gifts each month for Christmas presents... so here are a few more... I made Frames using metal tape and embossing it...  so very easy and look how pretty the frames came out...  !!!  I LOVE them... I even made a metal rose for one... and a poinsettia for the other... Of course I used my alcohol inks on all the frames... and also a piece of repurposed plastic from my bin...
I used a Spellbinder die to cut the frame on this one...  I love this particular die and at Christmas it is so very pretty...
I used some Liquid Pearls for the center of the poinsettia  flower...  just for an added touch...  and of course a little tiny seam binding bow...
On this one I used a few more Spellbinder dies... just a little different along with a Cuttlebug embossing folder...

So very easy and great gifts for all on your list...
Hope you are getting ready for the holidays in a little way...  it really helps to get started early and get it all done, so that you can goof off and enjoy the holidays...

Have a fun day... enjoy your summer time...  thanks for taking time out to visit me...

Pink Illusions

When I teach a class I have all kinds of brain energy... prior and after... and my mind will not stop creating... it is endless... so I go to a class tired... and then come home tired... thinking that I am going to have a good nights sleep.. WRONG!!! I stay up half the night creating things in my mind that I want to do in the studio the next day... of course I can't do that... as I am so very tired that I try to gather up enough energy to simply write down the ideas that I have thought of...

This is one of those many ideas... it only took a few months to be created... but I dreamt of it the night prior to my White on white class in April!!!  now it is the middle of May and I finally got the card made!!!

Anyway... the dream was about using the poinsettia die from Spellbinders and creating this Carmelia flower... I love it... it is truly about the color and shape of the ones in our yard... they are so very pretty when in bloom in December and January... it is hard to realize that such a pretty flower is blooming and the possible snows could fly at any minute... but the bush keeps on going... so wonderful....

Anyway... I think you can see the possibilities with so many of these dies... we just have to allow our minds to flow in all directions... and then create with it... so neat...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope to see you tomorrow..

Philosophy of Spring

Sometimes things happen the way that they are suppose to happen and we just don't see it...  yesterday when I was making the little heart book I used a piece of cardstock to absorb the extra inks... and it left the most perfect hearts... and so I used that to start off this little booklet of tags...  it is for a friend that is healing from a very harsh surgery on her back... and is really doing remarkably well... but I love to send her things to get her back into the mood of creating... so this is coming your way Sandy in Michigan...  heal quickly.

I used some bits of pieces of things on my work table again... like a little piece of Graphic 45 paper ... a tag from Tim's easter collection that I was going to use on something else... but took it off... and some grand Lace from Spellbinders... I am getting ready for my White on White class this Saturday... and so I had some pieces of white on white things on my table...
On the back of the tag it was a little to messy to send to Sandy... as she is very very neat... while I am very messy at times... but it doesn't bother me at all... I have fun with my art and am very very FREE flowing... LOL.. sometimes a little bit too much.

Anyway... a few Geletos... Have you used any of them yet... I think I have the spelling correctly... but not really sure... so much fun... color crazy with them.. and then use a brush with some water and you get the prettiest looks... love them...  I had to get the WHOLE set of them... they are wild.

I also love the Chit chat words... and used a lot of them on the bck of this tag set...

A close up of the front sections...

Love the look...  and it is was a total mistake...  but I love it...

I dressed it up with the old line tag ... and also the words...  love it...

You can see that there are only the 4 hearts...  as that is what the little book had...

So great... two things from ONE...

This theme is for Simon Says Stamp and Show... I have done that here... and it was fun...  Thanks for the great theme...

Hope you have a wonderful day today... and thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
