Summer Tyme Fun

Summer TYME..... what a lovely time of the year it is too... I love it... just wish it was a little cooler down here in the south.. but hey.... that is what it is ...

Today Erin has a GREAT zendala on the challenge... so when I saw it, I saw Summer Tyme all over it... 100% too..  so I grabbed my sepia prima pen and went to town... I love the sepia colored pens... it gives it a warmer look... and since I was going to do summer ... I needed WARM....

Here is my finished page... but that is the end... I wanted to share with you all the thoughts of summer that were running thru my head while I was creating this zendala....  I was thinking of all the things in my life time that I loved to go in the summer months... the best was swimming in the ocean, a pool or anyplace that the water nice and clean...  of course back in the day that was almost anywhere we went...  today you have to think twice about the condition of the water...   I loved to go out way out in the ocean and float down a few beaches and then swim back... the life guards went crazy, so I had to get up early and do it prior to them coming on duty... I loved it... there were very few shark scares back then too... so I was lucky in that way too...  Ohhhhh summer tyme fun...

So that is what started it all... all the things I love to do, like walk in the woods, (outer edge of the mandala)  and enjoy all the wild flowers and the greens and the little pebbles on the ground...  I love little pebbles... sounds funny but it is the truth...  I had a rock garden at our other house and had patches of small pebbles around the rock garden...  love it... and Watermelon... do you remember eating that as a child and sitting some where, where you could spit the pits... what fun that was...  and how about an antique auction... love them.. oh my... then trying to get it all home and finding a place for this GREAT piece of antiquity that you have now as your own...  and how about birthday parties on the lawn... and enjoying ice cream and cake and not having to worry if gets all over the place as the ants will have their own party too... and clean it all up..  and the clown that came to entertain and amuse the kids with a funny collection of hats and making animals out of balloons... oh the Summer tyme fun we had...

Now I love to see all the greens in the summer... the trees getting their buds and forming beautiful flowers, and everything turning wonderful shades of green... and all the delicious organic veggies that we grown and enjoy everyday of the year... and all the canning and preserving that I do to create the ability of eating our own veggies all year long too...  Oh I love it all.. the memories and each change of the seasonal year... Live is grand, isn't it???  Sweet sweet days.. one after the other...

Here is my page prior to putting the zendala on it...  I used my twinkling H20's and also my inktense pencils and this is what I got!!!

Oh so much fun each and every day creating all kinds of fun things...

Yesterday we had a very strong RAIN storm.. it was wonderful in that we got lots and lots of rain...  it was coming off our roof in sheets... the gutters were not able to hold all the rain...

At the end of the storm my husband went to look at the creek and the gardens... and all was well.. but the creek was not even full!!! Shows you how much of a drought we are in .... we really need rain every day to keep ahead of this type of thing...  Anyway... I wanted to do a journal page on the rain...  and here is it...
My rain is turquoise!!!  As an artist I can make it any color I desire... right??? LOL... so it is turquoise with some lime greens...  Done with assorted inks... paints... and what ever my heart desired at that time of the night...  I had to use some Stencils... and also some dabbers... and then I started with my black pen... and tangled a few things onto the pages...

Here is what the pages look like...  I love it... I love creating and I love sharing with all of you.. I just have one more wish.. and that is that I was able to see all the wonderful things that you are creating...  Thanks for all your lovely, caring and wonderfully GREAT comments that you leave for me... and all the letters that I get from all of you too... thanks from the center of my heart.

Thanks also for stopping by for a visit... and I sincerely hope that you all have a wonderful week-end... and that it is summer memory for you.... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

Can you find the CAT???

This month on Altered Alice we have the honor of having Dilly Beans as our sponsor...  So you will see some really cute digital images here...

Before I show you the finished page, I am going to walk you thru the process...as I get so many questions about how I built a particular page etc.. so here are the facts...
I started off with my favorite paper of all times... white CARD Stock!!!   nd I stamped some rubber stamps that I had made... I use so many leaves in my art, that these are amoug my fav's...  some archival Olive ink.. and that was done... then I used some Twinking H20's and colored the background...  I love this kind of look...  It is muted but great for the background of this active colorful page...

Here is a close up of the leaves
I also used a stencil with a gold dabber to create the branches...
Sorry I didn't take a picture prior to adding all the other things...

I have just gotten bitten by the Zen Tangle bug... and can't seem to stop doing everything in Tangles... LOL.. but I love it... so I had to add something to this challenge that I did in a tangle...  so here is my tree...  the 'snake' looking things are really suppose to be roots of the tree... oh well... I get carried away a little bit...

I did this with a micron pen and then added color pencil to it.. . and then cut it out for this journal page... as I needed the separated limbs for something....

Here is a close up of the branch... so that you can see all the little circles, and the leaves...

Also the limbs... which are all done in the same pen and colored pencil.
I love the tangles in this tree.. I had so very much fun with it all...

Here is the top of the page , which is all tissue paper that I have dyed with Dylusions... love those sprays...  the colors are so very vibrant...  anyway.. .when the papers are dry, I glue them onto the page... and allow them to go where they want too...
Okay...  so I created what is better known as a wiper card...  you can find the directions here... on SplitCoast Stampers... It is very easy to make... so I created that and attached it to my page... the reason for that is because I wanted to hide the little cat!!!

This is  the completed page... but you haven't seen it all yet... The Queen of Hearts and Alice are on their way to play croquet and they are walking to the palace... and Alice kept on feeling like someone was following them... and low and behold... guess who it was???

Here is a close up of Alice and the Red Queen of Hearts... how precious are they????

Well there he is.... in postion that you always see this crazy cat... peeking out from behind a tree... LOL...  he is so funny...  I love him....

Here is a close up of the little one... peeking out of the tree branches...  I had a lot of fun making this page... and after I finished it, my neighbor and friend Sande came over to play for  a little while... and she fell in love with it... she is an Alice lover too... so she can really appreciate it... she kept on making the cat hide and then come out.. we are truly like two little kids playing!!!  And I love it all..

Well... that is the first project.. let me see if I can get this next one up...

If you have forgotten the name of this particular blog is
'Can you find the cat?'
Well can you..???
You have to look into all the little cubbies of this configuration box... and maybe you will see him...

Look carefully now!!!! He truly is hiding!!!

On the very top of the configuration box, I had to add a Wonderland special... as things in Wonderland are never quite normal... or should I say that they are never quite the same as on this plane of living!!!  So I added a box that was a little bit unlevel!!!!  And put a dragonfly and a mushroom ...  the catterpillar has already turned into the beautiful butterfly... as you can see...

I took one of those gold butterflies and colored it with alcohol ink and then decorated it with Liquid Pearls...
A close up is below...

You can see the Blue and orange mushroom here... a good shot of the two mushrooms... which I made from air drying clay.. and then painted with my Ranger Alcohol ink refillable pens... which I love... I can make my own colors... which I do...  what fun!!!

A Wonderland configuration box is not complete with out a tea party... but there is no cat in any of these boxes at all..  I colored the little tea party and then added the little brass cup and saucer and tea pot...

My neighbor Sande and I were building these together... she was using the smaller one... but I had already started to make this one... but we were having fun making them..  She has these really cute little tags that she had picked up... and that is where I got this cute little tea pot tag... Thanks Sande...   Nest to that on the left... are the flowers with faces... the talking flowers.. see I told you that nothing in Wonderland is 'normal'!!!

No cat there either!!!!

Well here is Sweet little Alice... with the Drink me bottle behind her... and also the key is hanging up too...  but I don't see a cat.... do you???

This little bone china tea set, I bought about 25 years ago... and didn't know why... but I thought it was cute... only a few inches tall... and so cute... so I knew that it had to go into my Alice STUFF... and so here it is... I love it...   It was not made in China... it was made in Japan!!!
The Queen of Hearts sees that one of her roses is WHITE????
What is going on here!!!  But this cute little Queen doesn't seem the least bit upset over that...

As you can see here... but do you see the cat...???
I wonder where it is???

I wanted to add more things to this box... but I dont' have any right now... but as time goes on I will add more things to this... But I did add this pretty alcohol paper to this cubby...  no cat here either.. so where is that silly cat hiding now???  you never can tell when he will appear at all... what a fun place this Wonderland is!!!
Oh Wow... there is he...  all of a sudden he was there..!!!  Well I will be!!!

Hiding there all the time... I told you he was a crazy one... but how cute is he...

Well as you can see... I think that they little Dilly Beans are so very much fun...  I know that you will want to have them for your collection of ALICE things... so jump on over here and get them...

Okay... while I was building my configuration box, my good friend and neighbor Sande had to do hers too... she is the one that got me all involved in Altered Alice...  so I felt it was only fair that I show you her's too... It is so cute...

Well My charming dial up is at an all time low of 16kbps... very very slow.. but I am getting these pictures up.. but can't move them around or anything!!!  But you at least get to see them... right???

Sande used a piece of plastic and stamped the Queen on it... and then put the white and red roses behind it...

Anyway...  Can you see the cat in Sande's box...  no one can... because it is not in there yet...  so cute...  the tea cups are all weird... because it is Wonderland...   So wild...

Hope you enjoy this challenge.... I did... and I love these adorable Alice in Wonderland digital images  ...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and have a wonderful day in WONDERLAND!!!  It is a glorious place to play and live...

Angel of the Flowers

A page of my life ...
A page in my journal....
Having fun...
Enjoying life
and
LOVING it ALL...

I had a lot of free fun with this page...
I had colored this paper with all kinds of flowers about a week prior... and finally got around to
finishing up the entire pages...  But are they ever finished... aren't they like life... you keep on adding onto each page until you are satisfied???

But I did get more added to this area...  I added the Angel in clip art.. I had copied  a few and this one was sitting on my work space, begging to adorn something... so here she is... in all her vintage glory...  I love this one...

Then I had to add a few
daisies from Dynomite Daisies over at Pretties by Bonnie  which I have so much love for all flowers but I guess daisies will always hold a special place in my heart...  I had not put any in the drawing... so I needed to add a few...
Using a stencil I added some numbers and dots in different areas...  using a dabber by Ranger...  love them... didn't think I would use them as much as I am...  great invention...  I also used my twinkling H20's and love the shimmer that they add to everything that they touch in life...  so very pretty and GREAT...

Well another page of my life...
Hope you are working on a journal of some kind... there are no rules... other than to enjoy your journal... sharing with yourself and others is so very much fun...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit...  and hope that you have a GREAT day...  and also a GREAT week-end...

Sparkling flowers

WOW... what fun I had with these flowers... I painted them with Twinkling H20's... can you tell???  I love the results of the page... I used Dylusion spray on the paper... and then colored my flowers...  love the effects of it...

then  I added some doodling on the side!!!

Easy and fun for me...

Can you see the sparkling flowers???
Have a fun day...
Enjoy it all..
Love, Light and Peace...

Bliss

Being that this is a holiday week-end in the USA and everyone seems to be so very engrossed in celebrating I decided to do some of my own celebrating for ME!!!  I became totally involved with my paints, and all kinds of things, like markers, crayons, inks, sprays ... you name it ... it is and has been used and totally enjoyed...  the other day I created a piece of paper and then even revamped it into my journal... which I will show ya'll at a later date... but wanted to share this with you today... but I used the same technique as Challenge 7 at Studio L3   which was to use a technique from Tim Holtz's book of techniques...called brushless....    so that was the beginning... of the page... I did make my own leaf stamps to use... (an interesting note is that after I finished the entire pages and flipped to the next section of my journal... I had leaves already to go for the next page... LOL.. the color distress that I used had gone right thru the page... LOVE IT... so now I have to think of something to use that for... not a difficult thing for me... right???   )and then started to blend in different colors... finally using that new color of Squeezed Lemonade.. I could go for some right now... it has been rather hot down here in the Carolinas and lemonade is a must ... but I settled for some sweet cantalope that we grew last year... I am trying to empty out the freezer... the winter is over and now we need to use up the tail end of all the foods... getting ready for all the NEW foods that are TRYING to grow... we are again in a severe drought...  Another Rain dance might be in order...

 Anyway....

I drew some flowers, and painted them... and then upon rising this morning I had to check out Sunday Stamper challenge with Hels Sheridan and saw that her challenge was to use a word...  I would do that after I finished this page section in my journal.....

so I went to work to finish this piece... and it needed something else... so I drew some leaves with my distress markers... and it still needed something else...

So I started to add some words...  and thoughts started to flood my mind.. and I had to write them all down... why can't I  just write ONE word and be done!!!

Well that is not my style is it???

I love words... to use them on creations... to speak them... to WRITE them...
and just use them all the time... At the same time I started to think about the day....
And had to add the feeling of looking out from all these wonderful flowers...

I hope you add some flowers to your creations...  I have a lot of digital flowers in my collections on Pretties by Bonnie

Hope you will take a look and see which flowers you need in your collections...  digitals are so easy to use and you can get so many different looks with just ONE flower...  and size too...

I had to add ONE more word... as it was the feeling that I totally had when I finished creating this piece and it was bliss...
So I grabbed a Ideology tag and clip to attach to this page in my journal...  as it was PERFECT ending to the pages...

I used a lot of things... but generally all things that were on my work space... LOL... it is a mess in my studio right now...  not usually like this at all.. maybe that is why I am so free to draw and color...

I really had fun with this piece... and let it all go to create this... will do somemore of this later on... might even try my hand at cleaning a little bit today...  not my studio... the rest of the house is in need of some loving care too...

Live in Bliss... Create ART.... Play... Live life... Embrace each moment....  Enjoy color.... Love self... give yourself a time to be alone and create what YOU desire... let it all hang out... and be free with your hand...

Hope that you have a GREAT week-end... and thanks for stopping by for a visit...  see you again soon...

Brushless Watercolor

Today is one of those days that all routine has been broken... which is GREAT every so often...  I love it...

I thought I was going to do one thing... and ended up doing another... and that has been going on all day long... and I love it...

Even with this picture... which I will most likely add to my journal.. I thought I would do one thing... and it ended up being another...  and I had a lot of fun doing the whole piece...

step one and two
This week on Linda Ledbetters STUDIO L3 challenge she has chosen to do the following...

Technique 7: Brushless Watercolor
Sponsored by eclectic Paperie
So I gathered up my supplies that I wanted to use and started to play...
After I got the background done I had to add more... oh wow... the stuff started to fly then...

I used a new to me stamp from Mini ornate ... love the words... and stamped them in Black Archival all around the edges of the 8.5 x 11 paper...  then I took my Olive archival pad and used my blending tool in the center section of the paper...
Here is the paper after the Olive archival had been added....

Oh now I was really excited... this technique was really perfect for the mood I was in...

I had dreams about painting flowers with my H2's... and hoped that todays challenge would allow me to do something with them... and YIKES... it was...

Okay... I still felt like I needed to add more... so I distress stained another stamp ... the larger ginkgo leaf... and stamped that in peeled paint... and then used a black archival ink on top of that... you can still see the distress stain if you look closely...

I wish I could get larger pictures up here for you... but with this dial up ... not a go for me...
Then I started to play... Bonnie style...

I drew flowers all over the paper... and then using my Twinkling H20's... I colored them in... and then used my distress markers to accent the flowers...  Love the look I got... I also used my white copic in a jar as a paint for the accents...

But don't you love the washed out gingko leaves... love it...

Here are some close ups of the flowers... and the background... which is just the look I wanted... LOVE it... You are right Linda... it will be a much used technique for a long time to come... LOVE IT...  100%...
Thanks Tim for the inspiration on this background... I love it...
Another section... love these little orange flowers... they started out yellow... LOL... and of course the daisies are my very favorite... which please don't forget to take a look at my newest collection of Digital flowers... called Dynomite Daisies on Pretties by Bonnie  There are a lot of pretty ones to play with there... and there are bonuses galore HERE
so that each time you decide on a kit, class or collection... you receive a BONUS... what a great thing to do...  check it out... thanks...

Okay... more pretties on this corner too... I really had fun with this challenge today.. and thanks Linda and Tim for putting me into that space...

Hope ya'll have a wonderful day.. if you are traveling... be safe and careful... and enjoy your day, week-end and time with loved ones...  Thanks for stopping here today too...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
