GREEN... I love green... and that is the Sunday Stamper challenge...

Today is not Sunday here... but it is in the UK... and Hels Challenge for Sunday is GREEN.... yikes...  what fun... 

So here it is..  Sunday Stamper on Saturday night... love it...

anyway... this is the whole panel... it is about 6 X 12... and I used alcohol inks on this special paper from Ranger...  it is yummy... feels like soft butter and takes the alcohol ink really nicely... I used two of the new colors... Teakwood and mermaid... what fun...  and a lot of solvent... 

 

 

 

I will tell you all about each section... as there is a lot here... I used a Tim stamp for the background of this... and this stamp is really hard for me to use... but this time I put a nice big chunk of foam rubber under it... and it came out wonderfully clear...  love it... 

I tore the edges and then used distress inks on the edges... one color... was GREEN.... the other a turquoise...  love it..   

 

The Fish... it is a Fred Mullet fish... and I embossed it and then painted it... Fred Mullet style...  it glimmers too...  really a pretty fish..  GREEN TWINKLING H20 PAINTS... among other colors too... 

 

I love putting this eye in funny places... places where it really doesn't belong...  with a butterfly and some ginko leaves popping out from under the layers of paper...  GREEN GINKO LEAVES.... 

 

Funny I also used Wendy V Stamp... I had this sitting on my work table... and had hopes that it would fit into your Challenge Hels...  some things just happen the way they are suppose to... LOL... 

 

I made the face a long time ago with air drying clay... and surrounded the face with flowers and GREEN LEAVES... I will tell you more about them later... 

 

Can you see the other woman here???  Dyan stencil... love her...  she is fun to use and I also over stenciled that area too... what fun is that...

 

 

A GREEN FOIL BUTTERFLY... and also an antique shoe buckle...  (My mother in laws shoe buckle...) 

 

 

 

Okay... now look at these flowers carefully... they are made from FELT... FELT that I used to put alcohol onto paper and things... I save them all... LOL... nothing cheap about me...  if I can use something I will store it... I pulled out a few of the blue/turquoise pads and cut out some flowers from them... a little sheet will make 2 flowers and/or 4 leaves... 

 

Just some more closeups of the flowers and butterflies...  I had fun with this sheet... and Thanks Hels for all that you give to the art community...   you are special...

Reflections

 This is another section of my art journal... as you can see... sometimes thoughts are all that really enter my mind... the rest is just fun...  I drew this woman??? have no clue who she is... she just came thru my drawing... and I love her...  hopefully someday I will meet her...  if not oh well... she was fun to draw and color.  the papers are techniques and also from my pile of 'scrap' that I love to pull from... so as you can see it sort of all goes together in here... nothing ever matters ... that is the way it should be all the time in everything we do...

Sassy with an Attitude

The title says it all .... Sassy with an ATTiTUDE...  love it.. 
The colors are so very vibrant... which I love...  and the stamping was all FUN with all capitals... 

On the other side of my life.. I have been having to help a lot around the farm.  This time of year we do a lot of planting, also harvesting starts...  

I had to do something with the amount of asparagus we had… so that started this  whole process…  

Glenn  has been picking asparagus every day for over 10 days… and each day the amount is larger and larger…. We were eating a lot of them… but not able to eat all of them… so today I HAD to do something with all of these asparagus… and we don’t like frozen foods… so that was out…

I  made some pickled asparagus… never done it prior to today… and I hope that they will be good… as I made a couple of gallons of them… LOVE ASPARAGUS… but ….  I needed to save some for when we don’t have them…  so will try these and see how they taste… 

Okay… then I had all these precious ends of the asparagus, etc left over… and so I threw them into the Vita Mix… with some water and veggie bouillon… a few shallots… and wizzed that… and put into the large pot.. as I had a lot of ends etc…So that made into about 10 quarts of soup… will have to can some of that later on…

 I had bought some nice Brussel sprouts and so I sauteed them with some shiitake mushrooms, and tempeh..  cooked that in the wok… really delicious…

 I had a few cukes that I had paid a lot of money for.. so I had better use them in a salad… so I used some shredded daikon, sliced celery… and the cukes…  wow… and a nice avocado dressing for the salad… wow it is ever good… 

Then I had to have a nice dessert for this dinner… so I made some wheat free brownies… and they are in the oven now…  will be done in a few minutes…   

I have to say... as dinner is all over and the dishes are now done!!!!  That it was a delicious dinner... each dish was GREAT.... we loved it all... but I do have enough for about another 8 meals... so I am going to have to 'freeze' some of these things for another meal.... wow... I really made way to much.

Alice in Wonderland in a HAT box

 I happen to really enjoy making ALTERED ALICE items for this challenge... .and already have quite a nice collection... since I love to share my things with friends that come to my studio and also on line, I thought I had better have a nice BOX to put all my Alice things into...  So... I looked through the house and found this nice large Hat Box... and decided to cover it... 

 The first thought was a pale blue patterned paper... and then I decided on the black and white theme... I love it... 

So Alice in Wonderland look...  don't you think??? 

Well I had this really neat little pad of black and whites... and then I cut cardstock up for the borders...  The black lace is a spellbinder die.. 

 Happens to be a favorite... Grande Lace...  really nice...  The rest is all the characters that I love to use..  


I also added some things... like this Wendy Vecchi watch... I added a small Alice in the watch... felt it belonged in there...  the rabbit was running down deeper.... 

 I made the Red Queen of Hearts Red Roses from .... 
You guessed it... my favorite all time ribbon... seam binding...  thanks again Shelly for getting me in touch with this stuff... love it... I think I am on my 6th roll... My grandson wants one for Christmas too... he is addicted to it also... LOL... he is only 7 and loves dying it...  Getting him mini misters too... starting him off with a set of 12... 

 I added a key by the door... had to do it... and the key... HEART... love it when a plan goes along the way it should... without even trying...  the key and hitch is from Tim Holtz's Ideology Line...  so many fun things.... have to have them all too...

 The top of the box has these two designs on it so far...  

Dont' know if you have guessed this or not... but this box is far from being completed... when I work on it some more... I will share it with you... it will be quite a handsome piece when entirely finished...  

It also will be filled up... I have two books and about 10 tags in there so far... and tons of room... this box is about 10 inches tall and about that in diameter.... it is one of the larger hat boxes of the set ones... love these boxes... can do so very much with them... I also found about 12 other hat boxes in the house... so I have a lot of projects ahead of me.... yes I do...

Dressmakers tag

 Another tag for Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge 
I really have enjoyed this challenge this week... I am not 100% sure I have Wendy's style down.. but I am learning all about it... 
I used a stamp set of her's that I won from  an Eclectic Paperie challenge a while ago..   I have used it a few times... but have really gotten to play with it during this challenge... 

I used the dressmaker form... and also the words... love it... I think I will use it a lot more now...  as it takes a while for me to get use to stamps...  

I used crackle on the form... and then distress stains... to create a really vintage look... The inks on the tag... I used the NEW FALL set..  and used the Seedless Preserves and also the Gathered Twig (brown) ... 

The snaps are VINTAGE plus... the thread was in them... and they are huge snaps...  

The little spool of thread I wound with some quilting thread...  flowers I made from some book pages... just to give a little texture...  the larger one is colored with distress stains... yes I love my Distress Stains... dont' know how I lived without them...  they are handy and very easy to get great results with...  

 Another Wendy Vecchi style tag...  and that I think is the last of my Wendy projects for this challenge... but I do love these... and will continue to improve on this... very comfy with it...
