The White Witch

This morning I got up and had quite a few assorted things to do... and so I was a little frustrated not to be able to walk into the studio and play... then I had a few friends come over for eggs, and also to buy some cards, papers, and other goodies...  so it wasn't until about 3 that I FINALLY got into the studio to PLAY... YEAH... finally is okay... I did have a good time... so that is okay too...

I had a few challenges that I wanted to address... and so here is what I made...

I had so very much fun making this 'box' and then covering it and filling it...  oh wait until you see it all..

First off.. I saw a box that Anna-Karin made last week...  and since I love to make boxes... I put it onto my ' Note to Self' list to make someday...  well I didnt' realize that it was going to happen so quickly... but it did... I really love it...  so I sort of fashioned this one after it...

If you like or LOVE vintage... you had better take a look see... her tutorial is fantastic... so I wanted to try her techniques... even though I didn't have all the right colors of distress paints, I had fun with it...

Of course this is my project.. so it looks different than both of these..... as you can see...

One of the challenges that I created this for is
and the challenge is to always use Kraft paper...
and then this time it was also to PUNCH...
I used an EKSuccess pumpkin punch...
and then I rusted it with
Distress Vintage Photo embossing powder...
love it...
rough and old looking.....

Okay... as you can see the White Witches hat also... she is the BEST and only kind of witch...  she is in tune with nature... loves plants, critters and protects them all...
Helps people to heal with herbs naturally and consoles the spirit with love...  the white witch is a GOOD WITCH...
Oh... you knew that from the Wizard of OZ... the good white witch helped Dorothy get home...  of course...

I used a few stencils... this one is Tim's... called splatter... and I think it looks like a spider web...  and of course all the spiders are now building huge webs... catching as much as they can for the long winter months ahead...

I used Willow, Aqua and a little Espresso Adirondack acrylic paints to create this...  Love the technique Astrid... thanks so very much for the GREAT tutorial... I love it and have it saved to my hard drive...  truth...  love it..

I needed to close the 'box' so I also had a challenge to use BUTTONS....

Wow since I have been doing these challenges I have really started to clean up my studio and get things into order, so that I can find things and USE them... so many old things that need to be used...

BUTTONS it was to close this box...

The back of the box... I used a Dyan Reaveley Stencil for this area... and then of course some of tim's tissue tape...  great stuff...

Of course the box opens...

to reveal more stenciling... and birds flying out of the box...

and down at the bottom... the front of the box opens...

to reveal BRIGHT COLORS of FALL...

Here is the inside of the box...
assorted papers that I found today in my Halloween STASH... which is now totally organized and cleaned out... all the junk has gone into a bag that will go to others for their enjoyment...  papers, stickers, skeletons, all kinds of goodies...

Tissue tape really gives you the opportunity to hide things too..  a knot from the button being sewn onto the front...

Another challenge...
called
The challenge over there...
WITCH KRAFT!!!!
Well I just so happen to be in luck...  LOL...
I used KRAFT paper... and also have a witch  on duty too...

This is the first tag for this box... I will put a few more in here... there is actually room for 8... if I leave off some of the bulky things... LOL..

A few little flowers using Tim's Tatterd floral mini die... and some dyed ribbon...

Same die cut... just a larger flower...
The background... oh wow...
Do you remember this Embossing folder... almost every card in my stamping group had this embossing folder some how used on the card... LOL.. it was THE folder to have that year...  I loved it and had to honor it today with this tag...

I also added a TIM stamped pumpkin and a few rust little pumpkins...

And another piece of punched paper...
Green polka dots...

Raffia... a little flair for the flower.. and a finishing touch....

I really had fun with this project... and the
WHITE WITCH
will be back to add more tags soon...
have to wait for an addition...

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit... and I have to say a super great THANK YOU to all of you who leave me sweet nothings... I love them all.. and cherish each word...

Hope you have a super great day... use some older tools you have around your craft room or studio and honor yourself and your toys...

GREEN... I love green... and that is the Sunday Stamper challenge...

Today is not Sunday here... but it is in the UK... and Hels Challenge for Sunday is GREEN.... yikes...  what fun...

So here it is..  Sunday Stamper on Saturday night... love it...

Make sure you click on the picture to enlarge it...  there is a lot of things to see...

anyway... this is the whole panel... it is about 6 X 12... and I used alcohol inks on this special paper from Ranger...  it is yummy... feels like soft butter and takes the alcohol ink really nicely... I used two of the new colors... Teakwood and mermaid... what fun...  and a lot of solvent...

I will tell you all about each section... as there is a lot here... I used a Tim stamp for the background of this... and this stamp is really hard for me to use... but this time I put a nice big chunk of foam rubber under it... and it came out wonderfully clear...  love it...
I tore the edges and then used distress inks on the edges... one color... was GREEN.... the other a turquoise...  love it..

The Fish... it is a Fred Mullet fish... and I embossed it and then painted it... Fred Mullet style...  it glimmers too...  really a pretty fish..  GREEN TWINKLING H20 PAINTS... among other colors too...

I love putting this eye in funny places... places where it really doesn't belong...  with a butterfly and some ginko leaves popping out from under the layers of paper...  GREEN GINKO LEAVES....

Funny I also used Wendy V Stamp... I had this sitting on my work table... and had hopes that it would fit into your Challenge Hels...  some things just happen the way they are suppose to... LOL...

I made the face a long time ago with air drying clay... and surrounded the face with flowers and GREEN LEAVES... I will tell you more about them later...

Can you see the other woman here???  Dyan stencil... love her...  she is fun to use and I also over stenciled that area too... what fun is that...

A GREEN FOIL BUTTERFLY... and also an antique shoe buckle...  (My mother in laws shoe buckle...)

Okay... now look at these flowers carefully... they are made from FELT... FELT that I used to put alcohol onto paper and things... I save them all... LOL... nothing cheap about me...  if I can use something I will store it... I pulled out a few of the blue/turquoise pads and cut out some flowers from them... a little sheet will make 2 flowers and/or 4 leaves...

Just some more closeups of the flowers and butterflies...  I had fun with this sheet... and Thanks Hels for all that you give to the art community...   you are special...

Hope you all have a wonderful day... no matter what day it is... and that you create something fun...

I am ready for bed... it has been a very long day... a class... company and now a challenge... yikes... makes me tired just to think of all I have done... but it has been a fun day...

Thanks for stopping by... and see you soon...

Memories

Today is the day of the challenge for Sunday Stamper... which takes place of course on your computer... but the person behind all this challenge is Hels Sheridan from UK...  a very funny and loving person...

Well... I have to tell you a short story first... since I have been on line, (approx. 10 years now..)  I have been on DIAL UP... which if you don't know what that is, feel very blessed in all ways... it is where you have very little options and they are all very
S    L    O   W
but it was the only way I could get onto the internet... so I choose it... LOL... what else is there???

Okay... so I went down to get my computer up dated since it was 4 years old... I wanted to get windows 7 on it... so I could use both my computers the same...  LOL... my desk top (the 4 year old one) was unable to be changed over, as I would loose all my art programs in it...  and so I decided to keep that... and also if I kelp that computer as it was, it wasn't going to be able to stay on line after April 8th... due to the inability to talk to the dial up... so I had to think about what to do... all these other programs that every one had were not available around here... but finally after talking to one of our neighbors, we found out about a company that had satellite service that was available in the mountains...  so now I have
HIGH SPEED INTERNET

and I am so very happy.... I love it... I was having trouble getting a picture up on line... it would take about 1 hour to get ONE small picture up... and then the line would disconnect from what ever... now I can get 7-8 large pictures up in a minute or less... and I am able to join back into my favorite groups... become social on Facebook and see Pinterest for the first time ever... and also run all my blogs and classes... so I am loving this in so many ways...

So now here is another challenge... ( the first I did was Tim's Tag... )...  had to try that one again too... and also the new challenge starting on Saturday over at Linda Ledbetters... better go check that out if you haven't...  Linda and a whole CREW of really GREAT gals are all going to be giving challenges out every other week... what fun is that going to be...  They will be using Tim's newest book... Compendium of Curiosities #3...  yikes... love them all.. they are a must for any one really interested in learning new and exciting things...

Okay... enough words .... now for my creation...

Hels Challenge today was to use a technique by the famous WENDY Vecchi.... and also the theme of Memories are made of this....  what fun is that...

Again.. I have a story...

Every year in the winter months we decide what we are going to plant on the farm.... (we have an organic farm... with chickens and lots of veggies... )

So about three years ago we planted WATERMELONs... which I happen to LOVE...  These were Orange fruit on the inside and very very sweet.... called Orangelo...  anyway... they started to grow and grow and all of a sudden Glenn told me that we had about 60 or so watermelons about the size of a basket ball... (this variety grows ROUND)   so we started to eat them... we love them for breakfast.. so each morning Glenn would bring over one for us enjoy... all of a sudden... he noticed that they had small holes in each one... like a deer took a polite little nibble out of each one of the melons...  (we have way too many deer around our farm... )

Oh these melons were so very delicious.... and they were being eaten by the DEER????!!!!   Well this was going to have to STOP...  Glenn brought over a few to show me... and I said to him... these are not from DEER... that is from a BIRD.... a CROW.... or many CROWS.....  And so we went out of the house and all the crows started to scream... warning the ones that were eating the watermelon to GET OUT OF THE GARDEN... the human is coming back again...  LOL... they would do that everytime he would start to walk over there...  he finally had to pull all the plants up and let them finish growing in the shed on the vines with no soil etc... which only lasted a few days... and then we had to put them in the big refrig... they were delicious... but we lost a lot of them... so this tag is all about the crow and the WATERMELONS which are represented by all the roses on this slim long tag...

Okay... I have a confession... I didn't have any other special Ranger paper left... boo hoo... so I had to use a piece of Glossy paper.. which really didn't work as well...  but I had fun with the background anyway...

I used two of the newest colors of Wendy's.... Fern and Forget me Not...  love them both..  actually I love them all... I happen to really enjoy the intensity of the Archival line...  really wonderful for fabrics too...

Anyway...  after creating the background... I had to STENCIL...

I happen to LOVE the dabber with the PEARL in it...  if I don't have 5-6 of  them on hand I feel lost...  it is so wonderful to use...  I never remember to clean out the tops.. .so I use a blending tool with a foam pad and have a blast...  here you can see the pearl used...

AND HERE too...

Here I used citrus up on the top right corner...  and some BLACK...

You can see more here... but the area above the crow... not so well..  but it is used there... and that is the beauty of this color... now you see it... now you don't...

I used a wonderful Tim Stamp...  for the saying...

I even used some other things like Viva Inka Gold and I used some of the copper and gold on the background and also stenciled with it...  so much fun on a piece of paper that was only 3x8.5 inches...

BUT THEN... I had to make some roses which were to represent the watermelons...

So using my Tattered Pinecone die... I created some roses... I made a few using the whole rose... but then I also used one whole rose to make two roses...  like little buds...  added some greens, and some leaves... and also used Tim's new Honeycomb die.. .(love that one too... )

and used the Tissue Wrap to make a few smaller flowers...

But I have to tell you... that they just didn't look the way I wanted them to look... so I heated up the old MELT POT... and dipped them in for a nice glossy look.... they actually look like they are porcelain...  love it...

Before I let them dry.. I added some Rock Candy Glitter... oh so much fun...  just a littlebit.... as if I added too much.. it would change the vibrant color of the roses...

Here is the final TAG...  or small picture...  not really sure where I will put this... or what I will do with it... but it will have a home of some kind...

Close up of the tissue wrap flowers made with the dictionary paper... and dipped into the Melt pot...  with a thick UTEE...

Also a lovely piece of jute for the bow...

If you look real close you will see the glitter on the roses...

Here you will be able to see it even better...

ANYWAY.... I did have a lovely time making this... but I also had a nice time on the deck... visited with my sweet hubby... talked to both our kids today... and enjoy the day 100% plus...

Hope YOU did too...

I would love to see others join in on the fun challenge every week...  it is so much fun to see what others create... I now can go around and visit other sites too... it use to take me so long to get onto a blog that I really lost interest in blogging all together... and finally cound't even get onto my own blog...  now I am here in full force...  and ready to PLAY plus...

Have a great day today... enjoy it to the fullest... and CREATE something wonderful for YOU...

Using Stencils

Oh My GOODNESS.... how I love to get messy... as a friend says... INKY FINGERS... right Hels???  Love it..  anyway.... when I stencil I have to be in the right mood to really GET INTO it 100%... not even 99%... 100% or more...

Get the stencils out... cover what you don't want paint on... LOL.. and then have fun... lots of it too... yikes...

I generally will have a few sheets of paper that I have already colored... and they need a few more colors... or dimension, or something... so out come the stencils... and I love to create with them...

I use sprays, sponges, dabbers, and anything that is around...  I use premade stencils... or grab things in the studio to use as a 'stencil' too...  anything goes in this process... LOL.. the messier that better...

So here are a few cards I have made with stenciling going on in the backgrounds...

Oh yes... I forgot to mention... I generally also add a medallion on them... adds to the layering of each card.. have to keep the mail company (post office )  in business... LOL...  this one is a costly card with the flower... as it will have to go into a box...  but so pretty... most of the time with a card like this, I do give it to the person directly...

This stencil is the diamonds.. and I outlined each area with Liquid pearls... love it..  really a wild look... you can even be really wilder with the color choices...

Just some leaves and stems for the pretty roses..

More diamonds... I must have at least 30 stencils.. but there are favorites... you know the story...

The stencil used in the middle of the medallion is also a favorite...  it is just wild plus...  but I love using it with the pearl (white pearl) dabber from Ranger... love the effect it leaves.. really great... have used it in a lot of journal pages...  this also have 6-8 layers in different places... yikes,.. I love layers..

In this card you can see the diamonds and the effect of the liquid pearls too...  love the look it gives...  it never has to be perfect.. just areas... oh wow... how special stenciling is... have you tried it yet???  it is a lot of fun... go wild... create to your hearts content...

Do you live local to me... or even anyplace.. and desire to take a class or two... I have classes on going all the time... and you a friend or two can create a class and I will do it for you... custom classes....??? What ever... get the idea...  love teaching others to create... a really special thing to me in so many ways...

have a fun day... and create something!!!! ANYTHING.... just CREATE....

Collage PLUS tangling!!!

Today is CHALLENGE DAY.... that is for sure...  I love to do challenges, and really like to do one project per challenge... but this week I am combining a few... as I have a lot of other things to do too...  and I really like to do these...

So here is a project that will go into one of my journals.   I am going to show you the whole process... as I really did have fun making this...  I had sprayed (Dylusion sprays)  some Pretties by Bonnie... and when I was done I had this really nice paper...  I put it aside...  so today I used it to start off my paper...  you can see the flowers  if you look closely... Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge is to use sprays, Stencils, spritz, etc etc... and I did... I also finished off with a nice spritz of Perfect Pearls... love that stuff...

I am sorry for the line in this.. but my dial up doesn't always allow me to completely upload pictures without having to redial at least a couple of times... not fun... but just part of my life... so excuse the line...
I wanted to show you the stencil uses... I love the leaves...
When using a Stencil and the dabber of PEARL... I get this lovely reaction... which I adore...   Have you ever used it...  if not better get some... it is fun... and the results are GREAT...
On this area, I have used a number stencil with gold metallic...  love the look of that too...  so many fun things all on one sheet of paper...

But it didn't stop there....
I kept on... as I had a few other challenges that I wanted to add to this paper...

So I started to get involved with some Zen Tangle doodling... and I love it... so I decided that this also had to be part of the second challenge for today... and that is My Monthly Mojo... and Sarah, you are so very right... we have to find ourselves...  and when that happens I will let ya'll know...  but for now... I love doing it all... and when I am doing some things it makes me happier than others... I love to put colors onto paper...  and I love to doddle... but that can change at any given minute... I just have to follow what my muse requests that I do at that very minute... LOL... Do I ever know..?? NO... I follow what my inner being tells me to do...  and I try and listen carefully... as sometimes it changes.. .  LOL... but it is always fun for me... and if not, I stop doing it...  I need change all the time... I know that...
I love drawing... and I love colors... and I love to mix the two... I also LOVE flowers... but I also love other kinds of things too... so when the mood strikes... I do it...

A few weeks ago I really went crazy with leaves... and I just wanted to draw leaves... and also color them... so I had to add some to this drawing too...
Words... I love adding words to SOME pictures... not all.. but some...  I love just doing things at times... and today was a good day to doodle....

Weather wise we are gaining degrees by the minute... it started out fairly nice this morning... as we had a good rain last night... with high winds... and lucky for us... no damage... just a nice watering for all the plants...  So muchly needed... wow... really big time..  but now it is starting to get up to about 90 some odd degrees... not nice...  but I am going to ink some more later... hopefully... anyway... I felt like doodling and that was MY STYLE this morning...
Since I have been creating ART for more than 60 years now... I guess I have to say that my inner ART CHILD is still active and doing well...  she really loves to create and get messy...

But these Zen Tangles are so fun... and I get so wrapped up in them... that I hardly realize that my back is starting to hurt... from the position that I am sitting in... lucky for me I have an inclining table... so I have been on that a few times... pulls me right back into shape... for more tangling...  LOVE IT....
Live in the NOW... BE ME... a few of the mantras that I repeat all the time...  I am trying these zen tangles out, as I am new to this style... so I am 'copying' others forms... but always add in my own too... I love this form of ART!!!!   have you tangled today???   Good yoga for the brain...
So you see what I mean about leaves... I love them...  stenciled or drawn...  love them...  Even going up a vine.. or a plant stem... love leaves.

All these colors are so rich... bright and GREAT.... Bright has to be IN now... as I am loving it...  and seeing more and more of everywhere I go... even in clothes... have you noticed the changes all around YOU...
Have you made the changes internally for you yet???  I am in the mood for this change and love it...  I guess it reminds me of the psychedelic colors of the 60's...  my hippie days...

Sarah also wanted us to comment on why we share our work of art...  well... I love to share and stimulate others to create... and that is also why I teach.... sharing is very important in our world today... Peace has to be felt in order to obtain it on this EARTH MOTHER... and we need that so very much... we don't need more war... or any war... we need LOVE and sharing... and that is my purpose in this life time to do...  I feel that we all need to realize that and start to really put our minds into world PEACE...  we are all one... and need to start to act like it... there is no separation we are all one... and need to love each other... unconditionally too..

The third challenge is over at ART JOURNAL CAFE...  and it is to use some pieces from Magazines...  not really a favorite... because it is someone else's art... so I have to be really picky about what I add to my art...  it has to be about what I am at the time...  so these are some that I could add...  it took me longer to locate these than to do all the doodling... which was over 2 hours...
So there happened to be a Stampington magazine on the table near by me.. so I started to look through a pile of them... got totally absorbed in a few things... and then remembered what I was suppose to be doing.. .LOL.... so I did find a few pictures that were good for me...  One that says  LIFE IS A GAME.... PLAY IT OFTEN.... we need to do that as stated above...
I found a really great little section of collage all by its self... and so I used that to fill in a blank zen tangle free area... LOL...

And of course I had to add a flower... made with Pretties by Bonnie   digital images...

So there you have it... a fun picture of all kinds of ME...  the colors... they are me now...  as they represent HOT... it is hot here... and I need to go take a nice COLD shower... then I can use blues and purples...  I am going with the flow... I am ME...

Hope you are staying cool... and enjoying the day...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit...  and hope you will come back soon... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
