My Little Man Gnome

Oh My Goodness... what fun this is... I finally took some time this afternoon...  and made a little man for my little lady... but the man is a little too tall... for her... so I will have to force my self to make him and her both mates now... this could be a long process...LOL.. oh dear me...  what a problem.. .(LOL... HUGE LOL...!!!! )

So here he is...

I don't have names for these little ones as of yet... as they don't even have houses to live in yet either... so when they do get paired up they will have a family name and of course a first name too..  he is about 5 inches from the shoes/boots up to the top of his GNOME hat...  I love him... he has so very much character...

I think I laughed the entire time I made him... what a hoot I had...  I also dyed all the wool for him too..  I didn't have flesh colored wool, so I made his head white... and covered it with a coral pink...  up close it is a little too pink... but he looks normal here...  LOL.. just precious is what he is...

Hi.... now you can see his mustache and also his bright eyes...  even the head band on his hat... what a gnome dude he is... (is there such a thing in the gnome kingdom???

About three years ago I made a shadow box.... a la fairy land... and he wanted his picture taken in front of it.. but since you have seen him close up... you can see he is pretty active...

He is so cute... can you think of a good name for him... any suggestions I would LOVE to hear...

Thanks for stopping by today for a visit to see my little ones...  I need a name for her too...

Any help naming these little ones would be greatly appreciated... thanks a million for all your help...

I do hope you have a wonderful day and week-end... and I will see you soon...

My first felted FAIRY

Being Wednesday I had a lot of misc things I had to do.. and didn't think I would get into the studio at all.. but I did... wow... and I got a lot done...

First off, I dyed some natural roving  with my Tim Holtz Color Wash sprays...  they are suppose to hold the color even though washing... so I am told??? Not really sure... but  I will NOT be washing these, so I am not worried about that...

I put the color into the wool and then when it was dry, I combed it with my wool combs...

OKAY...  then I realized that I needed to make a doll armature...  and started to look for my wrapped wires... perfect... found some... then I needed some beads, and maybe some other fibers, and assorted things... (had to clean out a few drawers too... they were messy and that is my rule when I see something like that...)  so at about 2 in the afternoon, I was ready to start to make my first FAIRY...

And then my hubby came in for lunch...  OMG... so I always like to enjoy that time together...even if I dont' eat... which today I didn't...  so I talked for a while... did his dishes... and ran into the studio... LOL... literally...

so here is the first FELTED  FAIRY I have ever made...  I have only felted very limited too... so both were sort of new to me...

I really had fun... and used all my own hand dyed wools...

I have already figured out a few things to change about making these... but sure did like the way this one came out...  LOL.. but I bet after a few more, I will be upset that I posted this one.. .right???

Top half of her...  she has flowers all the way around her beautiful Butterscotch hair... LOL..

Put a dime in a picture so you could see how large she is... only about 2 inches tall...  I love her... she is so cute... now I  have to make a HOUSE for her... how come every thing begets something else...  oh well.. I will have to make one...  LOL... loving all this miniature stuff...

Hope you have had a nice day... and have created something fun...  if not... why haven't you???  Get up and create and become ALIVE with the feelings of creation...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and I really appreciate all your comments that you are all leaving... I really look forward to reading them all..

Today is Sunday over HERE!!!

On SUNDAY STAMPERS....   (it is still Sunday here... what day is it across the pond... Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday???  LOL)))))

Anyway... it is really Tuesday here... we just had a holiday... Memorial Day... and so I took the time to get a little caught up on things around the studio and the house... yikes it all really needed it...  and then off to go up the mountain to go shopping... what fun today is going to be... it is afternoon 12 noon now... but hey... we are free as two little birds... or maybe I should say butterflies...

The challenge this week is to ALTER something...  gee whiz... I alter everything I  touch Hels...  paper, rooms, birdcages, tags, bottles, candles... you name it.. .I can alter it...  LOL... so I decided to clean yesterday like I told you... and came across a couple of stray dominoes... and didn't really know where to put them.. .so I decided that they would be what I would alter... good enough...

Well I started off with actually covering the dominoes with Tim Holtz tissue tapes...  and then I put a covering of Gloss Accent over the entire domino... and I actually let that dry for over 24 hours.. Just because I generally try and push the time and it gets all lumpy etc... so I was very patient this time, and waited... ho hum... it was a long enough wait...  Then I actually made the inside paper piece while I was waiting...

But since we are looking at the covers... I will talk about them.. .LOL... I love DRAGONFLIES... and so one went on the top... and the little green bow... that was it... no more room... as I was going to have charms hanging out... as you can see...

I actually measured the paper and scored each piece accurately... that is a huge thing for me... as most of the time.. the folds... well lets say that a lot of times they leave a lot to be desired... LOL... they generally are not even... but this one...  EVEN as all get out..

I then just started to stamp using only Tim's stamps... as they were on my work table...  and then I used some Distress pads, pens and stains to color in the spaces that I desired....

I had colored the charms with my alcohol ink...  and then put the heart together... and then put them onto the paper... that way all I would have to do is adhere the dominoes when they DRIED!!!!  I was bound and determined to allow them to totally DRY.

Each section is entirely different... and the butterflies are having fun.. and the birds are flying...  the leaves are green and summer is upon us here in North Carolina...  FULL BLOWN...

Thanks Hels for the Challenge... and again I totally enjoyed myself...  learned how to patiently wait for things to dry.. and it worked out GREAT.. .

Hope you all will create something today that is pretty and reflects you and summer time...  thanks so very much for stopping by... and see you next Sunday... (On Sunday Stampers.. that is..)

Circles and more circles... that is the challenge!!!

Monday, Monday... do you remember that song??? Oh dear....it was a favorite of mine....  anyway... today is MONDAY and also Memorial Day... a day of getting ready for the on coming week for me... that is what it is...  have had fun all week-end and now back to normal...  LOL..

So today at I am the DIVA... Laura asked us to create circles...  I looked at her example... but then got carried away with putting away a order, cleaning up the kitchen, making lunch, chatting with my husband... and all that kind of stuff... when I sat down all I could remember was to tangle CIRCLEs.. so I did...

Circles and more circles... and then some more circles and more again... circles... when I just looked again at Laura's example, I see that she has also used other things.. boo hoo.. .I would have done a different one entirely... oh well.. .I did this one and even have a rabbit hole...  did you look down it???  LOL...

I also did these this week... even though it has been a busy week, I was able to sneak in a few minutes here and there... and so here they are...

I was sort of talking and tangling... and this is what I found myself tangling????  don't even know it if is a tangle or not.. but I sure did have fun......

I was trying to do some split tiles... different feelings on each side of the split... and I love the way this came out... a little on the light side... but fun for me to get onto paper...

Hope you have a FUN week.. with lots and lots of tangling of all kinds...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and see you soon.. .

Flowers Faux Roses to be exact...

This is something that is so beautiful that I had to share it with you... hope you love it...

It is all written by William Blake
The Great British Artist and Poet

He to whom time is the same as eternity,
and
Eternity the same as time,
Is FREE of all adversity.

To see a world in a grain of sand and
a Heaven in a WILD FLOWER

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and
Eternity in an hour...

 so very true... Love it..

Well where to really start...
Okay...   I will start here...

Today is Sunday... and yesterday was SATURDAY... the day when Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is released... this is the 3rd one...  and I will do a little copying and posting at this point...  as I forget to list all the info I am suppose to list...

This week, we’re getting fancy with Tim’s beautiful Faux Tea Rose Technique, which you’ll find on page 65 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. #3. Distressed flower lovers will go gaga over this one– the delicate, intricate design looks incredibly complicated, but thanks to Tim, it’s super easy!
Before you link up your own amazing creation, please be sure to review the CC3C F.A.Q. for the rules of this challenge. There aren’t many, but the ones we do have are important! And, if you have questions that aren’t addressed, please leave a comment here and I’ll reply as soon as I’m able to.
This challenge is open to  everyone, but you must work from your personal copy of  A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3. We will not be posting technique instructions on our blogs, and our participants must not, either. We require this out of respect and appreciation for all the work that Tim Holtz invested in creating this book. Regrettably, we’ve had to unlink some wonderful entries that did not adhere to this rule, and we really hate doing that! If you don’t have a copy, you can order one directly from Tim, who will autograph it for you!
With each challenge, the team and I will be selecting a “Curiosity Crew’s Choice” winner who will receive a fantastic collection of Tim’s products, courtesy of Tim himself and Mario Rossi, his business manager (and an all-around wonderful person)! To be eligible to win this prize package, you must visit each of our team members’ blogs and leave a comment there. It’ll be fun, too– as you’ll see, these girls made serious crafty magic for this challenge! You can easily access their blogs by clicking on their project photos, and your comment on this post counts as your comment on my blog.
ie_GiftCert_50
All our odd-numbered challenges are sponsored by INSPIRATION EMPORIUM, one of my favorite online shops of ANY kind, run by some of my favorite people anywhere! Joy and the gang will award an incredibly generous FIFTY DOLLAR gift certificate to one lucky, randomly selected participant. All you need to do to be eligible is link your project here, and mention Inspiration Emporium in your blog post. You can also get 10% off any order with the code STUDIOL3.

Okay... that is direct from Linda ... so I have listed it all...

now back to my posting...

So Yesterday... I had a few friends over to share in the fun of creating FAUX ROSES...  oh what a messy mess we made... and had lots of fun making roses... and all kinds of things...  Marie and Susan both made tons of roses... and hopefully they will post them...  Marie's were for a scrapbook page and Susan made a tag or two... and a card...  for a wedding... very stunning too..

So here is my first of 4 projects...YES... I played for over 10 hours making roses, clean up a little, so I could see the work sheet and then create more... and kept on doing that all day long... what a fun time...  Love doing that... and with two friends... what could be more perfect...

This is called ALL 3
As all 3 challenges are on this one piece..
The Marbling of paper, the glitter and now the ROSE...
anyway... I created the paper and then went onto stamping and gathering up all the 'things' that I wanted to use...
Well maybe use???  didn't like one thing... tossed it aside... and loved this and that... and then changed my mind three of four times etc etc etc.. you get the idea... you most likely have done this too...

Well then I wanted to create a frame for the eye chart ...and used a spellbinder and cut it out of metal... and of course used my alcohol inks to rust it up a bit...

I have to be honest... I have not used the Jute/twine...that much... but I do like it... and it just felt right on this piece...

This lace is some that I bought a long time ago as ANTIQUE lace... and that was over 45 years ago... so it is ANTIQUE... no matter what way you look at it... LOL..  The large Butterfly came off the Tissue Wrap Melange  and I adhered it to cardstock so it would have a little stiffness to it...  then I colored it...  and put some rock candy glitter on it...

Susan had brought me a set of Tim Holtz stamps... that she had bought on sale... and they are some that I really love and wanted...  So I put them to use right off the bat...

I love using the Tissue tape in fun places... and also used an enameled piece with some remnant rubs on it... love this... am going to have to get some more... as I know I will be using these a lot on projects.. love the clean crisp look of it..

Finally the ROSES...  oh I have been making these for a long long time now... and I have to say that they are one of my very favorite flowers to teach and use on so very many projects...  an all time favorite... So for me this challenge was not only to use the Faux Roses but to also use them in different ways than I have before...

Usually I use them on cards and boxes... so all these ways are new to me...

Prior to my friends arriving, my sweet hubby came in with this beautiful bouquet of flowers...

Not only are they mainly wild.. but they are all from our farm...  he loves to grow roses... and these are all from ONE old time rose plant that still smells like a ROSE...  and the color is so very magnificent...  There is honey suckle, which smells divine and the whole studio smells like it now... and there is everything from Asparagus fern, daisies, (our wedding flower 45 this year???)  and also some other fun things...

Thanks so very much Glenn for all your love that you always give me and share this Earth walk with...  I love you dearly.

Okay.. now onto more ROSES... the paper ones...

Susan and Marie had forgotten their work sheets... so I gave them each some cardstock to color paper onto...  to save my work table... LOL.. it is a mess anyway.. .but it does help a little bit...

Well after a few minutes I LOVED the ink on Marie's paper... and asked her if I could have it... and she said YES ... so I gave her a new piece of paper... and I cut the paper into two tags...
I loved the colors that were one it... a total of 6-7 different ones... all so very what I wanted to use... pinks (worn lipstick, Victorian Velvet ) yellows (squeezed Lemonade) , light oranges (manderian and also some Persimmon... )  , and a little bit of rusty hinge ... now dont' forget, I had to cut it up to get the best areas I wanted to use... I didn't add anything to the back... but the edges did get a little bit of vintage photo and Gathered twigs... LOL... love that brown... right Susan.. when all else fails... use BROWNS...  LOL.. so very true..

My rose was made with pinks and over rode with Persimmon... LOVE that color ... so wild..

Since this was really my last project... I used up the last of my green paper that I used for leaves... and made a narrow band of punched paper at the bottom... add the birds and the cage...  what fun also making dyed ribbons of your choice...

A perfect ROSE...  even a little Vintage on the edges...

I LOVE this stamp of the CROW... it just has so very much personality...  I had to have it... so it is NEw to me...  I stamped him... and then fussy cut him out.. I wanted him/her to stand on something and really wasn't too sure what at that point...

My Roses and Buds were made... and then I again also used the other half of that paper from Marie's stamping on paper...  I did add some words here and there... and also the swirls from another Tim stamp set...  I also cut out some more leaves... I like to create them by coloring a piece of paper with all kinds of GREENS... and then adding some words, etc all over it.. then I hand cut out the size leaf I need for each flower...

I also created a double punched square for the main ROSE to sit upon it...  so very regal is the ROSE...  love it...

Oh onward... this is going to be the longest blog post I think I have ever written... it is LONG... still another project...

Actually the FIRST one that I did yesterday...

One of the newest sets of classes I will be offering this year will be on creating Fairy Houses and spaces... along with all the necessary things that Fairies need to use... like wind chimes, flowers, wheel barrows filled with flowers etc...  etc...  most will be made from items you have around your home...  so it will be a combination type class... this is so very exciting to me on so many levels...  anyway... here is one of the first fairy homes...

This little metal bird cage was picked up at Michaels a long time ago, by no less than Marie.. so she got a kick out of the fact that she had actually bought this over 5 years ago... and I was finally going to use it AGAIN for something...

I created over 12 different color roses for this... small, med and large... small buds and large buds...  and tons of leaves...  or branches...  I think of them as fern type leaves... LOL..  and the DRAGONFLY on the top...  Did you notice the little lantern... well even fairies need light... this one they will put Lightening bugs into.. to get a nice bright light...

I also added a few shells, One that I decorated with some gem stones...  and then a small clear quartz crystal...  Can you see the fairies in the back against the birch bark... my DIL brought me that bark... carried an armload of it for over a mile... Bless her for her persistence in bringing me this lovely GIFT... of sheet love.  thanks so much Casey...

Another view of the top Roses...

And still another view...

Some of the buds get to be a little hard for me to create at times... as the paper should really be broken up a little more... I will have to work on that in the future..

Another view...

Still another view... and some thin bark amongst the flowers...

Sort of looking down on the top of  the cage..

I love to also create fairy houses from painted rocks...  so much fun when you find the right rock...

You can almost see the fairies on the inside of the cage... they can get out without any problem ... they are not locked in there... believe me.

a little bit closer...

Well that is finally the end of my story... hope that you have enjoyed this and it wasn't TOO long... but I do love to create and I do love to share all with you...

have a fun and GREAT Week-end.. and if you are traveling ... please be safe... and now I am waiting for the next CC3 challenge... bring it on... love these challenges...

thanks for all the comments and also for stopping by for a visit...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

A little RAIN and a snail???

Today is one of those lazy days to me... I have tons of stuff on going and things I am busy doing... but keep on coming back to work on a tile.... is that crazy or what???

Well I wanted to make this tangle MOVE... and I wanted not to see it either...  so I think I got it done... LOL..

Of course you can see it...
but is it really there???
I added the leaves to sort of cover it up... even colored the snails body and the leaves...  leaving the RAIN all in black...

It is entirely different than any other tile I have ever done!!!  I sort of like it... but what do you think???

Different HUH???

Oh well.. a look at the whole thing at a distance really makes a huge difference too..

Have a GREAT day... enjoy what you are doing and now I have to put my nose to the grind stone as they say and get some thing done... like clean up my work table that is such a MESS...
