#12 12 Days Of Christmas Tags... the last one...

Tag #12... of the 12 Days of Christmas
Oh.... I so don't want this to stop...
but Christmas is almost here...
not many days left...
are you ready???

Sunday is Solstice and
the shortest day of the year...
a day when we celebrate the light
and the dark of the day...
so on Monday the 22nd of December
we will be celebrating again

the return of the longer days..
and summer will in 6 months in full bloom.
Wow..
Time does fly when you are having FUN.

So
here is my last tag...
or my 12th DAY....

These last 11 days and this project have all been created for the Funkie Junkie's
12 Days of Christmas Challenge...
and for that challenge Linda has created a tag,
which is absolutely WONDERFUL...
of a window, wreath and peeking inside the warm and toasty home,
Oh what fun...
so...
My Inspiration...
from Linda's Tag is
The WREATH, The Window,
and the POINSETTIAS!!!!
I had to go with a feeling that I had from the first tag I created, that I wanted to make a Poinsettia wreath...
Finally I would be able to do that with this beautiful tag of Linda's....
I knew it would be a certain way...
and it came out just the way I wanted it...

So here it is...

This is my little scene...
This is not large..
The wreath is only 4 inches in Diameter ...
The deer, it is about 3 inches...
but more on the deer later..
The little tree about 3 inches...
SMALL little scene.  and PINK...

I will write about things as I go along..
and hopefully make this as short as possible...

I received my Christmas trees, and they were squashed...
so I had to use a few of them in different ways..
One way, was to cut off the squashed section,
and put it into a box...
Voila'
so I made a 1.5 inch little box, and colored it...
and put my tree in it...
and then decorated it...
lots of liquid pearls,
and distress essences...
had fun...
wet and gooey but okay..
it will dry...

I cut out 12 deer using chip board.
and glued them all together...
to create my deer...
I then embossed it with Adirondack Mushroom
and then attached the rusted star...
it is real metal... rusted... love it...

Looking down on the scene

Okay... my wreath...
Oh how much fun I had making this delightful
little wreath...
Thank You so very much Linda, for making a wreath the last challenge...
Oh... I totally enjoyed making this...
holding it,
moving it around to see it in all different lights...
it is really soft and sweet in all ways...

I used a circle frame, from the dollar store package of paper mache frames...  nothing special other than it was a circle, stronger than what I could make, and also colored GREEN... which I put on the back...

Okay.. now to decorate this..
Stamper Sunday Challenge...
create using a book theme...
a page of a book etc...
so the bottom layer on this wreath...
a row of poinsettias cut from book pages...
and then colored a very pale green...
Love the softness of that...

Then I started to make the poinsettias..
I used the Sizzix die cut of Poinsettias
by Tim and used only the small flower...

This is also going into the Challenge over at Eileen Hull's
Sizzix Art with Heart...

So my poinsettias were cut out of many different things...
coffee filters that were colored pale pink,
baby wipes that were pink, pale pickled raspberry, white, and even a few that had yellows, greens and browns on them...
each one very carefully chosen and then cut out...
then made into a small poinsettia...
with a JINGLE BELL in the center of it..
Carefully glued in place, along with some mistletoe berries, a little twig and of course some rock candy goo...  love that stuff...
I think I used three bottles on this project...
what do you think...???
I think I love the stuff..

My little sled.. started out like any wooden object that we get our hands onto... it was once a light tan wood...
now it weighs four times what it did...
and it has a fence glued to it... and a bunch of sticks for firewood,
and of course tons of glitter, glitter glues, rock candy and you name it...
All ready for the wreath to be laid onto it...
I didn't glue it down,
as I think about putting it away at the end of winter...
and want the wreath to be pretty next year too...

On clear little pebbles

Hanging on black board.

Oh yes... each flower also got some rock candy,
and some other goodies... LOL... what fun I had

My finished project...

It is going in a very special place... and will be shown on the glass with the clear little pebbles...
I love it...
hope that you enjoy it as much as I am going to...
I wanted a delicate wreath... and I got it...
I might even put this with my little white village...
You never know...

Remember the other day... I made my tag box???
Well here it is with my tags all in it...

The Christmas side of the box...

The angelic side of the box...
my favorite actually...

It is sitting right here in front of me...
and as I type I am loving it more and more...
It will go into our den soon...
but for now...
it is sitting here being admired...

  2. This is an amazing piece of art. The wreath with all its beautiful details is stunning. Each flower so intricately made and the berries tucked in here and there - love that you used book pages for it. Your little 3D chipboard deer with his rusty star and the sled and tree are gorgeous. What a beautiful project to finish up on. Merry Christmas Bonnie!

  8. Bonnie - this wreath is gorgeous, and I love that it is small! Wouldn't know it from the detail otherwise, and all those lovely textures. And lovely scene - quick thinking about the tree - looks wonderful :-)

  10. And again you have put loads of love and labour into a most stunning and enchanting creation, Bonnie!

My favourite is the sleigh with the fire wood and the fence to lean on to! I would love to ride this one in the glittery snow (down the vineyards that surround Vienna and that have a lot of hollow ways that are perfect for sleigh rides) and feel the magic of a cold winter's day!

Your creations always touch the heart and evoke warm and happy feelings! Thank you for that! (it was much needed today).

Big hugs and I hope you are doing well and everything's as it should be!

    Wishes,
    Claudia xxx
