I am the DIVA... layers of tangles this week...

This week Laura's son is sick... and I do hope he is feeling better soon Laura...  not fun working thru these things... for either you or the little one...  I am sending healing LOVE to you both..

So with that in mind... Laura asked Aimee to do the challenge this week... and she has called it SUPERIMPOSING STRINGs...

Well I started by drawing two strings on my 5.5 X 8.5 inch paper... and then started to tangle... ooops... I forgot to take a picture of the two strings...  SO with that in mind... I thought... WELL I WILL JSUT COLOR THE TWO LAYERS DIFFERENTLY....

So one layer is in Violets and Pink... and the other (bottom layer ) is in Blues, turquoises, and multi greens...  I don't think you will be able to not see the layers...  and YES... I had fun again this week... YIPPPPPPP EEEEE ....  I love this...

Color has really changed my all around again and the mojo is flowing heavy today...

so with out any more ado... here it is...

I allowed the color to take me to places and tangle also... love doing that...  and also didn't create many different tangles.... but I did have fun..

DO you have Marie and Rick's Book... ???
Well I love it... and I used that to find some really different tangles that I wanted to use... otherwise I tend to use the same old ones... okay... so I love purk... and I know that I use that one a lot... but I LOVE IT.... what is a girl to do???  and I love mooka too...  but they had to go on here... LOL..

Anyway... hope you have fun with this challenge and enjoy it was much as I did... thanks Amiee for the challenge...  I really did enjoy it...

Thank You for stopping by for a visit... and also thanks ahead for leaving a comment... I really do appreciate them all... each and every one of them...

Have a wonderful night, day and week...

Sunday Stamper... use WOOD???

Today being SUNDAY....

IT IS  time to go over to Ink on My Fingers Blog... and see what Hels Sheridan is up to...other than getting all inky...  which she has a GREAT PASSION for doing...

Oh... it is to create something using wood???

Okay... so I thought if I went out and tried to find a special piece of wood.... it would take me hours and I would never get back inside to work on my art...  so I asked my sweet hubby to grab me a twig or something that I could use on a tag...  he brought back in the most magnificent branch from one of our azalea bushes... we have a few... over 30 of them that surround the outer tree line around our home... in the spring it is wonderful...  so this branch was only about 30 inches tall... and the spread was about the same... LOL... but I broke off a small piece and have enough for about 10 more tags...  maybe 20... LOL...

So here is the finished tag...

The finished tag....
BUT as normal can I just show pictures???
NO...

So as I show you close up pictures I will explain...

I really felt like drawing and painting this morning...  and had to incorporate this onto a tag...  I wanted to work in a journal... but didn't have a new one to use... oh well... next thing on a list of some kind ....

So I drew some flowers... upper right hand corner of the tag...
I drew with a pencil, colored with watercolor technique for the
(take a look and see all the pretties over there too)

AND  then I used my Versa Mark pen and cover it and used clear embossing powder to protect these flowers...

Reason... because I wanted to stamp some words... but didn't want them on the flowers...  simple, right??

Then I stamped my words all over the place...

I then used some Distress inks and put the colors desired onto my work sheet and colored the tag...  love the delicate look I got... some forest green and peacock blue with a lot of misting...  gave me just what I wanted... I added a little pewter Distress stain and was finished...

I then had this sheet of Graphic 45 paper that I really have wanted to use for a LONG time... so I tore that into the shape needed and roughed up the edges and then colored them...  adding a doily from a Tim Holtz Die Cut... and colored with old paper and Walnut stain colors from my mini distress pads... love those things...  handy all the time...

Colored some ribbon and was done with the main pieces of this tag...  BUT....

BUT

I needed to put my branch onto the tag...  and my little flowers...
Yesterday I had to make some flowers... small ones ... tiny ones actually...

STORY BEHIND THE TINY FLOWERS...
When I was a younger child... 5-8 years old, one of my favorite things to do was to go to the Five and Dime Store.... my Mom would give me a dime... and I would spend it all...  my allowance type of thing... well these pretty little flowers were 15 cents...  and I couldn't afford them... and my Mom wouldn't give me the extra 5 cents...  learn to save was here answer... so one week I did...  I only spent a nickel of my 10 cent allowance... and had the extra nickel for the flowers the next week...  I loved these little flowers... if you know the ones I am talking about they came in a little bunch.. maybe about 10- to 12 of them... and they were all different colors... so very pretty... well I wanted to have some... and so I made some...  I live way out in the middle of no where... (LOVE IT) but there are no stores around us at all.. .and any of the big box stores are about 45 minutes away... so I HAD TO MAKE THEM... NOW

Do you ever have to have something NOW...

Well that was the case... so now I have about 300 little flowers and I love them all...

I used quite a few different paper punches and then put a hole in the middle and put a stamen into it and used some glossy accent to hold the flowers onto the stamen...  I also used all kinds of misc pieces of paper that I just can't throw out that I have as 'scraps' from paper I have inked...  and so now I have NONE left...  but soon will have tons more...

I used 6 of them here today on my branch...  I had to dip each one into some distress Victorian Velvet glitter too... OMG... Love all these great toys... don't you????

So that is the story... I now have a ton of these little flowers and if I use them great... if not that is okay too... as I LOVE them all... I made all kinds of colors and might even make some more today...

This is a close up of the branch... with Lichens and all, that MATCH the paper color... how about that one...

A close up of one of the flowers with it's beautiful glitter on the outer edges of it...

Each one of these flowers is really double... but you can only see a single flower on most of them...

So I love my flowers... my drawn ones and the little ones... and thanks Hels for pushing me again to create with something I have been wanting to do for a long time...

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Sunday... and I need to get back to my flower making... think I will take it out on the deck to create...
Good day for it...  it is over cast... cloudy, and there is a nice breeze once in a while... up in the 90's though... a little on the hot side...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and see you soon...

A vintage Journey with a whole set...

A VINTAGE JOURNEY with a whole set.....

                                    of STAMPS that is...

A challenge over at Vintage Journey this time, is all about using an entire set of stamps... something I hardly EVER do...  as generally there is one stamp I really LOVE... and there is generally one stamps that I hardly ever use... if at all...  sad but the truth...

And if I like them all... I most likely would not use them all on one project... so with this in mind it was a difficult challenge indeed for me...

Some of the other factors that is all part of the challenge are as follows...

At A Vintage Journey, our challenges focus on the inspiration of Tim Holtz and we ask that you tell us in your blog how you have been influenced in your creation. Please take a look at the Travelling Instructions for clarification and the guide on interpreting the styles at A Vintage Journey. Don’t forget to provide the name of our current challenge theme and a direct link to that challenge in your blog post. For this challenge please also tell us the stamp set you have used. (It doesn't need to be a Tim set - just tell us how he has influenced you.)

So with this in mind...

The name of the challenge is  Use every stamp in a set

A link is the very first words in this blog...  please go there and see all the other work... it is all beautifully created and GREAT EYE CANDY.

Okay... now as far as TIM"S influence... well I have to first say that one of the most important facts is that the stamp sets NEVER go out of style...  they are used over and over... use what you LOVE... that to me is very important...  it keeps you focus on what you love, and not keeping up with what is new or old...

I love the colors of the distress inks...  we need a few more shades... but hey.. these are all wonderful...  I love color and so this has also been a huge influence on me...

I love the techniques and ways that Tim creates layered effects... do you really want me to go on and on... enough for now???  I love it all, or I would be in another venue...  entirely...  As it stands now I love to create all kinds of art... but love this vintage look and feel...

So all that is done... oh yes... my stamp set that I have used today for this particular challenge is  PAPILLON by Tim Holtz...  even though we didn't need to use his stamps... I did..  other sets I have really don't float my boat right now...  so this is my choice... I have a few others that could work.. and maybe if time allows me, I might create some more...  you never know... LOL...

Here is my art for this set...

I created a few projects, as I really didnt' like the first few...
this is the last one... I had to get my mind free to create what I really wanted to... ever been there???  PERSUE what you desire and it will come to you...

So I kept on going... what though do I do with a room full of all these first few things...LOL.. actually I do sell them..  or give them away as gifts...  only way to do it... otherwise  I would need a very large barn on our farm to put all these things...

There were really a few stamps in this set that I dont' really use that much...  the ones with the writing???  Weird huh??? but the truth...  one is a little large to pick up and use like I do other word stamps...  and the other one is a little small.. .and you can read it too well...  oh well..  I guess you would have to be in my shoes...

So I used the large word section to create a pleated area for the bottom of this tag... and I loved that..

I had created the back ground of my tag by running the tag thru an embossing folder... and then inking it with distress inks on my work sheet... my favorite way to play... love that technique the best of all..  but then I wanted to do something a little different... for me at least...

I had just bought this ornate frame die cut... which is Tim's for those that don't know it... and I needed to use it... I personally don't like to have things in my studio that I have not used... so I really NEEDED to use this die...  but I didn't want to just USE it... use it differently... that is my quest...

So I took a piece of plastic sheeting... ( from packaging) and took a ornate frame cut from white cardstock and inked it all up...  using the same blues that I have on the entire tag...  which is about all the blue distress inks...  and a little gold..

Then I used my glossy accents and glued it first to the plastic sheet and then covered it entirely with the glossy accent... Then the hardest part... WAIT...

So I left the studio for 5 hours... went out with my husband shopping... and had a blast..  have you ever been to a hardware store and looked at all the bins of goodies...  it cast me a lot to get out of there... there were so many fun things...  oh wow...

anyway.. I returned to an entirely DRY glossy accented piece of wonderment...  I then cut the ornate frame out with a pair of scissors..  (just around the outside edges)

I stamped the smaller word stamp in the center of this sheet of plastic... and had my focal point for this tag...  I love it.. it is shiny and glorious...

I tried so many different colored butterflies... nothing seemed to work for me...  but finally I started to go thru my drawer with all my embossing powders... ( I HAVE THEM ALL...  so it took a long time... but I have a slew of butterflies to use for the next 500 years... LOL)

Finally I used Stream (Adirondacks line )    and also used Seedless Preserves in the Distress ink line for the watercoloring of the inside sections of the butterflies..  and matched it with one of the liquid pearls for the accent raised spots on the butterflies... just for some texture and color...

I used three colors of violet for the ribbon and also Victorian Velvet, which to me is really more a pink... and since it is a combo of pink and violet... it is one of my favorite colors... love it...

Also  I bought a folder of the reinforcers... and LOVE them too.  I even found on with butterflies on it... wow love it...  I tinted it ever so slightly with blue... as I didnt' want to over power the precious ones on the circle.. .

Hope you enjoyed this ... I had a lot of fun with it...

But here is what I created prior to this tag...
I really wanted to make a box with butterflies all over it...

but I really couldn't get the look I had in my minds eye...

Here is the blue one... with Copper butterflies and colored in with ripe persimmon ink...  the box also has three different blues and is accented with seedless preserves on the edges...  one box is smaller than the other... but as you will see I have used the other three stamps on the creation of the paper...

I used clear embossing powder and then inked over that...  to create my paper..

It is going to be a gift... for someone.. ???  but I just didn't want it to be my only thing for this challenge... as it really didn't send the feeling I wanted...

I am in this mood of color... and love pink, orange and yellow... so I decided to use that... maybe that would be better for me.... no .. it was the same...

Pretty but not what I wanted...

I love these boxes.. but wanted something entirely different... and am not really sure if the tag is even what I really wanted either... but I have to get some  other things done here...

Since we have a farm... I have to take care of a lot of things... and one of the things today is to can about 20 quarts of green beans... as our beans have started to come on really heavy... some will go to the coop where we sell... but I will also fill up our stash in the pantry with some too... in the middle of winter we will love them... that is for sure...

BUT... when I get that all done...I will need to play again... balances me out...  and so I might have another try at this challenge...  I do have a few other stamp sets... so many I need to try them.. .LOL... good excuse huh???

Thanks so very much for stopping by for a visit...  I really appreciate you doing that and also leaving a comment...  I try also to answer them all.. so please stop back...

have a great week-end... and play hardy and from the heart...

More Diva Fun...

I have to say that I adored this challenge... and it was really a challenge for me... believe that or not...

I had tried colored Zentangles a few weeks ago... and really didn't care for it... but then I thought I had better try it for this challenge where we were to shake it up a bit... which I did... and I fell in love with the results...  (Laura this was one of the best ever challenges... Loved it... 100%)   Check out I am the DIVA here..

So here are a few more I did some time this week????

My husband and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary yesterday... and so for some reason I forgot to post... LOL...

But here they are... enjoy and love to all of you... have a wonderful week-end...

Love, Light and peace..Bonnie

I had inked these papers a long time prior to the tangling of these papers... they are both the same size...  4.25 X 11 inches...  enjoy...  I DID... that is for sure...

2nd one...  entirely different...

Challenge: I ought to use this more... YIKES...

Today is Tuesday... I had a few classes and then I took a break and had to play with some new toys... so I HAD to have a reason... so I thought I would like to start to do Simon Says challenge again... So HI to all the new DT members... and Hi again to all the others... I now have high speed connections... and that is really wonderful.. .that dial up was enough to drive me over the edge... okay... calm down... I am not that over the edge...  LOL...

Okay... over at Simon Says... Monday challenge... the challenge is I ought to use this more...  ahem... that does not include me...  does it???  oh well.. I do have a FEW things that I don't use too often... and really should box them up and sell them...  way too much stuff...  anyway...  I decided to use a few of them...

Down by the SEA is the name of this tag...
First off... I made the color on the tag with Tim Holtz's way of putting ink onto a tag... love that technique...  and then used some Inka Gold... not that old... but getting there... on the edges...  then I started to play...

I grabbed a piece of corrugated box... ??? who knows how long that has been in the pile??? Your guess is as good as mine... I use it when I need too...  tore it up and edged the torn sides with distress inks...  then here comes the OLD STUFF... MICA...

There are two large pieces of mica that my husband found one day and asked it I would like it... it is about 1/2 inch think... and I have used a few pieces... but it has been over..... AHEM... 8 years now since I have used any... does that qualify???

I also added the green mica chips that I bought over 10 years ago...   I  Guess that qualifies me... huh???

It looks a lot prettier in real life... has a lot of depth and some areas where these is almost a rainbow effect...  I did use some Distress glitters on the leaves, starfish and the turquoise bubbles...

I just received the mini series of these stamps today... love them... but I think I am going to have to buy the large ones too... love these sea stamps...

Added a few pieces of sea glass... they have to be over 6 years old... maybe more... but at this rate who is counting...

I had fun making this tag... and thanks for letting me into the challenge... LOL.. I love to create and need a good reason at times... thanks for giving me that...

Hope you have a wonderful evening, day, or afternoon...  Thanks for stopping by and also thanks ahead for leaving a comment...  I do appreciate them all..

Letting GO!!!

Okay... so where is everyone???
I have the 2nd one already done...

geeeeze, you guys are not having all this fun???? I love this challenge...
I hope that some of your are just goofing off like at work or something ... and have to wait to get home...  LOL... I love this one...

I took another piece of paper that I had stenciled on... and sort of did the same type of thing... but I added some tangles done in colored pencil...  wow... what fun is that...

you will be able to see all the sections below...

I used Inktense pencils... and when I added the water brush... wow they really popped...  love this .....I outlined areas and tangled others... just having fun...

added a little chain... a few more mookas...love this ...

It sort of reminds me of a sea scape.. but not really important... I just had a blast doing this... and even though I still have a head ache... I had better get going and fix dinner... I hear a hungry man coming in for dinner and it is not ready... oooops... oh well.. having fun and enjoying yourself is just as important.... right???

Have a fun night... and hope you will have as much fun as I have...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

A little SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Oh What FUN.... Love all these different Challenges... they are always making me think, create something different... and use my BRAIN....

Well today I didn't' really feel like doing any of that... I have a barometric headache... and can't shake it... as the storm is south of us... working it's way up to us..  I had a cup of coffee...  drank 32 ounces of water... did my morning meditation... and then thought what can I do next...  oh yeah... TANGLE....

So I thought for a minute about what I was going to do... as Laura had also given us a little bit different of a challenge today.. and I love it...  I love change... I feel it is ALWAYS good and love to create in a new or different way... keeps me on my toes... LOL...

I grabbed a piece of paper that I had from another challenge a few weeks ago...  I knew that I would use all these extra pieces of paper that I had experimented on... and this was one of them.... I took my pen and started to tangle...

Here is what Laura at I am the DIVA asked of us this week...

My challenge to you this week is:

Redux, Remix, Revisit a familiar favorite tangle, one you may call a comfort or go-to tangle.

I challenge you to pick one you have not visited in a while as this revisit opens new channels of mindful creative thinking.

  • Optional: Choose a secondary comfort tangle(s) to highlight, blend and intertwine with your first choice.
  • Go about your exploration using a mindful, one stroke at time approach.
  • Do not rush the process—slow down—breath—take deliberate strokes—appreciate and find joy in the process—know you are enriched by your participation in the challenge.

So with this all in mind...

#1..  I used a piece of paper... 5.5 X 11 inches... never used that size prior to today... so that was different...

#2..  I used a piece of paper that I had stenciled on...  that is really weird...

#3..  I used a tangle that I love... Girlande... and started to do my deep breathing... like I always do... to get my lines the way I want them... and also to get rid of this HEADACHE...  it is not fun... wish this storm would hurry up and get over with...

#4... I used my same pen... but did use a piece of charcoal to shade with...

#5... Used intense water color pencils to create my shading and also to intensify my colors from the stenciling...  (I used Tim Holtz's Distress inks and also a stencil to create my background...)

#6..  I also used Girlande many different sizes on this TIA...  and loved it...

#7.. Also used a word... which I love to do... but usually don't...

#8...  I added a butterfly from a challenge that I did yesterday using a watercolor technique... of Tim Holtz's...  so that is entirely different... a little like Mixed Media... LOL..

#9... there has to be a number 9 thru 12...  I like doing things in dozens... oh well.. you get the idea...
I did go out of  the box in a lot of areas... and LOVE it all..    Thanks Laura for the GREAT challenge...
I think I will have another go at it...

My headache..??? Well I still have  it... but it will go away soon... hopefully anyway... and the breathing and relaxing always does ones Body, Mind and Spirit GOOD... so breathe deep and go do another tangle...  think I will...

thanks for stopping by for a visit... and thanks for all the comments  you leave.. I am having a security problem with Flicker... so please know that I look at a lot of the tangles on there... but my security will not let me leave a comment...  so very sorry...

Have a super great day... and enjoy your time tangling...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

A little Watercolor a la Tim's CC3...

Hi... it is CC3 TIME... and that means messy studio, Messy Bonnie and having fun galore...  I had a class on Saturday, and was unable to play... but today I am ready to play hardy and have fun and create a project and a mess...  Actually I can't work in too much of a mess... but don't mind getting messy...  a fun time...

A few things about this challenge...  all very important... and also very loving of all the people that give to this whole challenge... Linda Ledbetter, The Crew, Tim and Mario and the sponsors...  so wonderful that they all give all that they do...

Hope you will enjoy all ... and please go to the sight and enjoy all the EYE C ANDY... lots of it there... that is for sure...

From Linda Ledbetter....
Welcome to the fifth challenge in our continuing exploration of Tim Holtz’s latest book, A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3! If you’ve joined us before, we’re delighted that you came back for more. And, if this is your first challenge, c’mon in and join the party! The Curiosity Crew and I are so happy you’re here!
Challenge 4 was so much fun, and the participants showed us some truly incredible Layering Stencil art! We have a tough job ahead, picking our Curiosity Crew’s Choice, who’ll receive a fantastic Tim and Mario Prize Package! (If you follow me on Instagram, you beheld the wonder of all the Holtzian goodness!) We’ll be deliberating and discussing all week and will post the winner next Saturday, and we’ll also announce the recipient of the $25 Funkie Junkie Boutique gift certificate. Remember to check back and see if there’s some cool loot headed your way!
This week, we’re rockin’ the Distress Watercoloring, which you’ll find on page 39 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. #3. This is a fun, simple, relax-and-enjoy-the-Zen-of-it technique, and we know you’re going to create a whole lot of greatness! Please be aware, this is technically a two-part technique (look in the book– you’ll see what I mean. There’s a Part 1 and a Part 2). It’s up to you whether you do only the portion on page 39, or go ahead and work through page 40. We’ll be giving Part 2 its own challenge later in the series.
Before you link up your own amazing creation, please be sure to review the CC3C F.A.Q. for the rules of this challenge. There aren’t many, but the ones we do have are important! If you have questions that aren’t addressed, please leave a comment here and I’ll reply as soon as I’m able to.
Everyone is welcome to participate, but you must work from your personal copy of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3. We will not be posting technique instructions on our blogs, and our participants must not, either. We require this out of respect and appreciation for all the work that Tim Holtz invested in creating this book. If you don’t have a copy, you can order one directly from Tim, and he’ll autograph it for you!
As with every challenge, the team and I will be selecting a “Curiosity Crew’s Choice” winner who will receive a fantastic collection of Tim’s products, courtesy of Tim himself and Mario Rossi, his business manager (a.k.a. Mr. “Behind the Scenes”)! To be eligible to win this prize package, you must visit each of our team members’ blogs and leave a comment there. Your comment on this post counts as your comment on my blog.

All our odd-numbered challenges are sponsored by the wonderful online shop, INSPIRATION EMPORIUM! Joy and the IE gang will award an incredibly generous FIFTY DOLLAR gift certificate to one lucky, randomly selected participant. All you need to do to be eligible is link your project here, and mention Inspiration Emporium in your blog post. You can also get 10% off any order with the code STUDIOL3!!!

I have been having fun... and this time really taking my time... I generally make a few... choose one that I like the best and that is that... but this time... a little different... I am using more things in my studio as they are out from my last class... and have been really playing a lot on the side... also had a friend over to play... so that was fun too...

Watercolor.... on page 39... didn't ever really try this one prior to today... and really didn't think it would be that much different... as I have taken watercolor 101 and 102 and 103 in college!!!  But this was entirely different and I love it more than anything... I love the results... and they are so easy and simple... you will too... did you get your book yet... better order... you will love this one..

This is my finished piece...  but I did take a few pictures in getting to this point... as I thought you would enjoy seeing it all...

Well when I started to play... my work table where I ink was a mess... really a horrible mess...  so I started to clean it up... and since it was Dylusions... (white) and some perfect pearl mists... not a big deal... just add some water... and then add some paper and you have the start of another project... LOL...  well there were some kraft tags... and then got dipped into the mess...  and I loved the way they came out...  so I decided to use on... and here are the end results after I stamped and watercolored it... (directions on page 39)   I love it...  I love this stamp set anyway... one of my favorites of Tim's... so very elegant... okay... now what...

I had a broken frame from the dollar store... it was gold in color... and 100% plastic... and split in two... well a little glossy accent healed that right away... but I didn't like the gold... and the white acrylic didn't really hide it as much as I desired...

Oh this is a LONG posting... as I have two projects... LOL... so grab a cuppa of what ever and enjoy... or hopefully you will enjoy...

So back to the frame... I added some white tissue paper and more white acrylic...  that did the job I needed... some of the gold still shows thru... but that is okay... not a problem..

I used my mini Walnut stain distress ink and put it in places that I desired...  also used my round blending tool.... making it a little softer in other places...

wrapped some hemp around the frame... and added some corrugated cardboard... ( from a spinner box!  nice corrugated...)  and then put the tag in the frame... perfect fit...

Then I started to add all my stuff.... stuff that I love...  made with all my Tim Toys...  like the tattered floral die cut... I love that die cut...  my very favorite...  and I made these flowers...  and I water colored the centers too...  (directions on page 39)

You can see the bow...  with some blues, purples etc in it...

I wanted to use this little bird cage... and of course the bird... so I watercolored the bird... but it is printed on a piece of sheet music... which sort of got lost.. but that is okay... it still makes it a song bird.... LOL...  anyway...  used liquid pearls for the eye...  I just love that watercolored background...  wow... my favorite technique...  love it... did I say that already..???

Here is some more of it a little closer up...  love it..

I also love making this new type of flower...  so very easy and what a lovely flower it is too...  I enjoy making these... and already have a collection of them...  what else is new.???

I water colored another scroll... and cut it out... ugh... that was very tedious... to say the least... but added that at the top right of the frame...  love it for a little dimension...

You will see more of it a little bit ahead...

I wanted to have a special top and bottom for this cage... so I used a special adornment from Tim's ideology selection... and then added some silver feathers...  both of which I used white alcohol ink on to take the silver away... the top adornment I did use my distress markers on to color it...  love the way it turned out...

You can see the sheet music if you look real close...  click on the pic... maybe???

You will see all the butterflies down a little further... but I had to add this on to this frame.... I love the way my butterflies came out...  magically different and wow... love them all.. a hard decision to make...

The colors were not planned... just happened... and I love the combo...

The side scrolled piece... just love the whole picture...  it is in my office... and I  love it...  will remember this technique for future usage that is for sure...

Okay... so as I was waiting for this one to dry etc... I got carried away with things... and started another one...  piece that is...

Here it is... White on White...

I wanted to SHOWCASE the butterflies... oh my goodness... woke up at 2:00 AM thinking about this... LOL... good thing  that I was able to go back to sleep...  but was so excited to try it out today...

Finished piece...
White on white with a monarch...  My favorite butterfly that I made today...  ...

I started off with a piece of mat board... and put some things on it... gluing them down.. if you look close enough you will see some maple pods/seeds... and also some swirls, labels... and other things...  just to give dimension to this all white piece...

You can see the maple seeds here a little bit better... on the left hand side...  and a little bit better after I used a round blending tool and walnut stain distress inks...

As I was having to allow this to dry in between coats of Gesso... I started to stamp butterflies...  and color them... I must have over 50 butterfly stamps... not kidding...  wow... almost as many dragonfly stamps...  you would think I loved these things or something.????  !!!!  LOL.. love them all actually... so it was hard to pick out which ones I wanted to use...  BUT... I did..

I stamped and colored two of each one...  using the water color instructions on page 39...  I had already decided that I would cut them out and put one on top of the other to make them look like they are flying...  sort of silly... but if I can make my butterflies fly... or look like they are... I will...

My Favorite one...  it looks so real... and it is all done with directions on page 39... LOL...  did you order the book yet??  better...  they go fast...

This is the one on the first project...  love it too..

I love this one too... actually I think I love them all..

Oh wow... love this one too..  hard choice...

now to cut them all out... and see which one I will use...

Using a sticky dot... I made  them into a flying butterfly... oh how I love these... they are so very vibrant, (took a lot of coats.. but I  really love the way they look)  GREAT BUTTERFLIES... and painted just the way I love them to look...

I will have to make something else to use this one on... it is so yummy... love it...

My Monarch won out..  and the yellow one is sitting on the side lines... I hope she knows that I will use her soon... don't feel badly...

How glorious this one is... did you notice that I also cut out the antennae...  and I want you to know that they are very delicate too...  paper cut that thin is...  yikes... and I didn't loose one!!! WOW... that even is special... Did I tell you that I LVOE THIS TECHNIQUE and these butterflies.. ????

how special is that...

this butterfly looks like it is printed from a magazine or something... not that is water colored..

I added two of my newest style flowers... all white of course... and also some leaves from the tattered pine cone die...

I love these flowers... really are fun to make... but if you have read all of this blog and don't do this water color thingy... you are missing out BIG TIME... I love this challenge and thanks to Linda Ledbetter and the CREW for all that they create and all the wonderful prizes from Tim, Mario and also Inspiration Emporium.
