The Letter K

K..... keep it simple...  Kisses.. .love them from my hubby and kids... don't YOU???
Knitting... a favorite past time for me... in fact I do a lot when riding in the car... waiting for dial up to up load a site or picture... I make socks all the time for my sweet hubby.. and then there is a favorite food Kale...  the list goes on... and on... do you have a K in your life..??? that might also fit into my book???  Please let me know... I just might use it... thanks...

If you look at this TIA and the one below.. you can see the growth in my tangling...

I have found that the hardest part of tangling is not being able to flow with the knowledge of what goes where and also how to do all the tangles...  so now as I grow... so do my TIA... as I know where to put which tangle...  just give yourself some time...  and enjoy the art of tangling... it is truly a wonderful gift to yourself..

I have just been tangling 4 months... and LOVE the whole process... and I didnt really think it would be that fast... but as always I have become obsessed with this art...  and have to say that it is a true love of my self that I have...

Love the coloring of this one... also had a lot of fun doing this... even though things change... it doesn't mean that you don't like past TIA's... just that you have grown... a good thing...

Keep it simple today... and be kind to yourself.. and of course to others... and KISS everyone you know... and see today... it is a K day...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and kindness will prevail in our lives...

The Letter J

J...  Oh what a fun project this book is turning into...
I think that some of you know me well enough to know that I am very prolific... in so many ways...

The letter J... it stands for Jellies and Jams...
When I was pregnant with out daughter I wanted to have everything perfect for happy time with her... and I wanted to do so many things with her... and one of the things I wanted to do... was to teach her how to cook, prepare foods for her family...  (which I have to add she is an excellent cook and creates all kinds of fun foods for family... I am so very tahnkful for that... )  anyway... I was a couple of months pregnant and had a craving for some fresh strawberries... and there just so happened to be a pick it yourself farm down the street... so off I went...  I totally enjoyed myself...  and would go and pick everyday... (of course I would eat my fair share too...  LOL... the farmer knew that we all ate a lot ...  he would laugh at us...  Oh I always went picking with a friend or two... everyone loves fresh strawberries...  so it was easy...  )   anyway... by the end of the month I had quite a collection of strawberries...  enough to start to sell actually...  but I knew that we would eat all the jelly...  LOL... we did... but it took us over 3 years...

Any by that time, I was pregnant with our son... when the farmer, John Post by name saw me coming.. he raised his hands again when he saw I was pregnant and said... "  There go my profits this year again!"    I laughed... what else could I do..  but I didn't eat as many...  and I also made quite a bit more... because now there would be more of us... and also my daughter was with me picking and she always wanted her own basket too...  and yes she would eat too...

Actually the farmer became a very good friend of ours... and since he also had kids... we grew to know them too... his son now has the business... but he grows .... PUMPKINS...  a lot better... no one by the deer can eat your profits... LOL...

Anyway... J...  a fun letter...  jelly and jams...
I also made jewelry for a few years...  wrapped crystals, and other gem stones... and we sold them to stores from Maine to Virginia...  and had a real blast doing it... our kids were in home schooling and so we took trips all over the northeast of the USA and the kids loved it too.. camping as much as possible... and enjoying the days together...

I look back on some of these times and wonder where the time has gone...  but realize that it is all right here in my mind... present as ever...

Hey... have a JOLLY day...  and make some jellies and jams when you have some berries... or some fruit...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

The Letter I

Now I bet you are wondering at this point.. what is she going to say about the letter I...  oh well... it is a story... that is for sure...

In 1970 we bought a house ... and the color of the brick was HORRIBLE... I couldn't' stand it...it was a yucky orangy tan color.... and so I bought some English Ivy and planted it all around the foundation... hoping that it would grow fast and cover the brick up...

I didn't realize how invasive it was...  my Husband kept on telling me to pull it all down off the house...  and I kept on telling him that I forgot... as I wanted the brick covered...  Well one Christmas I was cleaning off the mantle over the fireplace and realized that the ivy had found a way into our home...  there was a little leaf showing it's little face!!!!  Oh wow...I still insisted on having my ivy... so I would just make sure I would trim the leaf every week...

I did forget, and one day my Husband found a long branch poking out from behind a family members picture... and he went out and pulled all the ivy up... boo hoo...

He was right in doing it... and I was wrong.. but I love English ivy...  When we bought our farm, behind the house there were five tall poplar trees and then were all covered in English Ivy... I knew what their life span was at that point... my hubby let it grow for a few years... but he finally cut it off...  the ivy was chocking the trees and they were slowly dying... so the trees won out... and for that I am truly grateful...

English Ivy is the I in my life...  LOL..

I have to tell you that I really had fun with this TIA...  I just kept on adding and adding tangles... and finally there was no more room... so I had to start another letter...

Enjoy your list of ingredients you can play with today...  and become ingenious with it all...

Here is another I that I did... it is lower case i....  and had so very much fun creating all the tangles on it...  some new... some old... but all different in so many ways...
When I find new tangles that I

have not done... I try them out... but then I have to do them a couple of times prior to really becoming familiar with them... so here I have done that with a few of them...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Just remember to have fun, enjoy every second of your life... and TANGLE... .LOL...

The Letter E for Election Day

A big day here in the USA.. ELECTION DAY... so since I changed H for where the E should have been.. I used the E today... funny how some things happen just the way they are suppose to...

E...  Oh my goodness when I tell you this, you will really laugh... when I was in 7th grade.. ELVIS was a huge STAR... he was all over things... and one thing that I had was ELVIS sneakers...  oh my goodness... his face was all over the little white keds... I wish I still had them... I wore them until my little toes hung out the sides... and my big toe was peeking thru the front... they were my favorite sneakers ever...  long since gone... but I bet with even the holes in them they would be worth something... to someone?????  that collect ELVIS stuff today...  funny how things pop up in ones mind... what does E stand for in your life..???

I did use a few E tangles in this one...  I try to expand my knowledge of the different tangles... it takes a long time to get them downloaded.. but I try...

Thanks for taking a look and also for stopping by...
Have an ELOQUENT Evening... and enjoy it all...

Another E has evolved onto paper...

Everyday when you create it allows you inner spirit to show it's self on paper...  that is so wonderful.

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Well I decided to play a little more last night while listening to TV...  and here are some of the ones I did... I just kept them coming right along!!!  LOL... they were flowing fast too... could hardly keep up with the pen...  The Challenge on I am the Diva was really exciting to me... so I did the SOCC tangle and became really familiar with it...  I really feel that it is the only way to learn it and also put it into action... doing it once or twice just doesn't work for me at all..

First one of the evening... and I really had fun with filling in the spaces that the SOCC tangle left...  and then I added some beads...

and then the background...
I added some leaves and also some berries... and beads...  but then
While doing the one above, I realized I wanted to attach this tangle to something... so I did... a few sticks...

I call this the Loom...

 And then the Wall Hanging...
Like a Macrame...
And you know how much I love Flowers... so....
I had to do a few of them...
I really liked way this one came out...  I need to improve on the shading on this one... I didn't have my paper smear thingy...  and it came out a little harsh... but you get the idea anyway...

Well have a great day now... and if you haven't tangled or created some kind of art... get your act in gear and play a little...  it is really good for you...

Thanks for stopping by... and see you a little later...

Good Morning Monday with Diva and Strings

Good Morning MONDAY!!!

Well here we are again with another whole week in front of us... tons of stuff to do... and CREATE... and also a lot of fun... Now the big question is when to do what... and what is top priority???  Well to me Creating is ALWAYS top priority... but other things sometimes have to do first!!! BOO HOO... but truth always is what you have to go along with... at least in my camp...

As most of you know I have been tangling now for quite some time... since June of this year...  5 MONTHS now... and I love it more ever single day...   I can do it almost any place... at any time... and still be sane about the rest of my day... other than on Saturday's and Monday's when I am doing Challenges... but other wise... I am a tangle fool... and I really enjoy it... totally relaxes me like nothing else has ever done.. and also I find that because I don't follow to many of the tangling communities rules I really create my own form of art...

I know that with 'Strings' I am not suppose to draw or outline them... but I really love the look of them... but today I did a few with the way they are suppose to be done...  but I really like a free for all with it... and love the lines and things... but both are great... so I will switch back and forth...

Here are two that I did for String #25...  Thanks Linda for all the input that you give us all.. it is truly great..

I have not done the Zebra or the twisted tangle... don't have my book in here by the computer... and I can't think of the name of them... so sorry...

The cake one... is really fun and I loved doing that one... and of course copada...  love that ... had to add a few flowers to it... LOL... got bored with the lines!!!

Now this one...  I did the boron? I think that is what it is called... and I will use that again...  the others were not new to me... I love them...  had fun with both of these...  just a little different than my regular tiles...  These are both about 5x5 tiles...

Now I also had done a zendala for Erin's Bright Owl site..  which was to create using tangles that began with the letters P I E ... but this was sitting on the table and last night after doing the dinner and dishes I started to tangle in it... and this is what happened... no pie... we ate that for dinner... but I had fun creating this piece too... which is also about 5x5... or since it is a circle... 5 inches in diameter...

Now... I will do the I Am the DIVA challenge after it is released... and hopefully will get it done by Noon  EST...  this time change has me going... but I am sure everyone else is the same.. it is just that our days change so much with the days getting darker earlier... chickens have to be done at dark... so dinner is a little later... and our nights are different...  more time to tangle!!!  Maybe so ... not really sure yet...

The Diva Challenge   this week is really a good one...   I was very touched to read all about Erin's challenge with this particular Tangle... so very true... we each create our our path along the journey of life... and even though they might look the same... getting there is entirely different and also so very rewarding to each person in different ways... wow... such a powerful thought in all ways...  Anyway... if you go the site of the I AM THE DIVA you will be able to read all about this process... it is well worth the trip...  believe me!!!

So I wanted my project this week to be really special... so  I decided to  make a BOX with some special tangles on it...

This is what the top of the box looks like, when you are standing over it... LOL... Well I wanted a nice clear picture of the top...  So I think I took about 15 pictures... and picked out a few to share with you...  You can see the Socc in the center of the frame.

Here is a close up of the SOCC but the color is a little bit different as I kept on trying to find the right place to take these pictures... LOL..  so please ignore the color differences... I used a piece of Bazzill white paper... and it was a lot more difficult to control my tangle lines... but I did have fun with this box... I love making boxes... and have a huge collection of them...

A close up of the corner...and side panel... Love the leaves by Helen Williams... they are sure neat... but so are all of her tangles... she is very creative with nature...
A little bit closer on the actual corner...

I did use a black pen... even though the one above looks like Sepia....LOL... funny how a picture taken one place will look so very different in another place... but it all the same box... believe me!!!
The side... not entirely covered with tangles...   I wanted the bottom left open... as I might add something else to it...

Again... I have to thank each and every person that leaves comments... and believe me when I say I wish I could get to all the blogs... and leave all kinds of comments too... hopefully some day I will the ability to do so... and will have no more DIAL UP!!!!  With a high speed of 40kbps.... wow... a snail is so much faster..

Thanks Laura for the challenge... and thanks also to Erin for creating such a fun tangle... I do love it.. and will use it again...  it is something that grows on one...  Thanks...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Like today... I have added a few more pieces, for the Creative Every Day Challenges...  I love doing all these pieces anyway... just another excuse to play!!!  Don't you love it...  who needs excuses anyway????

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope you have a wonderful creative fun filled day...

Thanks for all the BOUNTY

Gratitude

'You ought to return thanks in a neat speech,' the Red Queen said, frowning at Alice as she spoke. . . .
In fact it was rather difficult for her to keep in her place while she made her speech: the two Queens
pushed her so, one on each side, that they nearly lifted her up into the air: 'I rise to return thanks--'
Alice began: and she really DID rise as she spoke, several inches; but she got hold of the edge of
the table, and managed to pull herself down again.
-- Chapter 9, Through the Looking Glass
Okay... now that you have the details on this months theme... lets see what I did... LOL... I had FUN!!!  That is what I did...  I got out my alcohol inks, pens and palette,  paper and my new NATURES BLESSINGS stamps...
(which I have to tell you this... when I received my Designer Team Stamps... they were wrapped in white tissue paper with the up most of CARE...  what a wonderful way to start a project... )
So I un Wrapped my NEW Natures Blessings stamps and started to stamp them all.. oh I love these stamps... nice visions of happiness came across my face...  And I didn't have any of these wonderful stamps from Through the Looking Glass... what fun...
Okay... then came the process or what to create...
I knew that I was going to use my alcohol inks to color this beautiful stamps... and then what... ???? Think... ponder... think some more... go out of the studio and then come back in and tangle a little while... ..... all of a sudden it came to me...
A book... a book of THANKS... So this is what I did...
I wanted to talk about THANKS.... Thanks for all the wonderful things that are around me... and Us...  so I created this little THANKS book...
On the front of each of the pages I have attached a letter...  spelling out the word THANKS.... (I used some Grundgeboard letters and painted them fall colors... but you would never know that I used 6 different colors... would you???  I used a Perfect pearls spray and I think that is what color took!!!  But I do love them... so that is all that counts anyway... right???

The first page is ALICE... with that cute little piglet...  and of course a funny sticker of a turkey... I had to use him as this was a Thanksgiving day theme...  GRATITUDE!!!  Thanks for all that you do...

I used some dyed seam binding ribbon for the colors on the rings... and love the way  they flow down the side of the book...  so fall and I might even glue some leaves on there too..

Good Idea..
 T

So here are each of the pages prior to being put into the book form...  and I will tell you all about the meaning of each page...

T= turkey...  and thanks for all the time that we have to create with...  Thanks for everything that we have in our lives...
 H

Because this is actually in the H section on the left hand side of the book...  it stands for rabbit... or hare...  LOL... even though this is truly the white rabbit.. it is still a hare!!!

Haystacks...  hello letters, harvest in the fall... and homecoming of the kids...  and all the trimmings of the holiday....and for PUMPKIN PIES...  from the harvest... you can't just look at one thing... you have to look at the whole... right???

Also H stands for my hubby.. as I am very thankful in so many ways that he is in my life...
I forgot to tell you... the leaf paper behind a lot of these pages I made with one rubber stamp that I also made... and used different colors ink to create a fun paper... and then using a 8.5 x 11 paper cut it for each page...  that was one piece of paper!!!  This book is 3.25 X 8 inches long...  a great size for this project...

Okay... so that is all about H...  a good letter...  and I love these stamps... I hope that by now you have taken a look at the great ALICE selection that Nature's Blessings has...  REALLY WONDERFUL... and very fast service too...

 A

There are so many things that A stands for... one is for this little rabbit ANNOUNCING that AUTUMN is here...  the APPLES are ready for the pies... and the AUTUMN leaves are falling...
I have to tell you that I love these Looking Glass stamps... I love them.. take a look at this UNICORN.... is he something... and that LION... GREAT going Alice with this AUTUMN CAKE....

 N

Oh yes... so many things with N... we just don't maybe think of it...  the NEWLY fallen leaves.. the nesting of the little birds... do you feed the birds during the winter months when they can't find anything to nibble on...  do you thank them for all the sweet music that they give us all during the year...  look at all the colors in the leaves... so very vibrant and GREAT...  what a kaleidoscope of colors we have here this year...  the dogwood is the most vibrant red I have ever seen... and the yellows are just starting to form up... the oranges will be brilliant too...
And do we say GRACE with a flair... as the Mad Hatter does here...  with all his finery on...  We should thank ourselves everyday of the year for all we have in our lives... no matter how little it may seem... it is grand.

Okay... now I would like to take a few side steps here and show you something that I JUST love... I have all the Distress line by Tim Holtz... and have found that coloring stamps can really be a lot of  fun... and you can get some great results with some great tools...

So I wanted to really color these with a lot of flair... and so I grabbed my ALCOHOL inks and wanted to share this with you...  as I have shown these to so many people and they love it...

You can use t he alcohol inks so many different ways.. but did you know this...

I love this stamp... Alice with these precious little kittens... and since this is for the K section... what could be more perfect???  Anyway... I wanted to have a nice little frame around this...  so I used a corner and border punch set... and then colored it with my alcohol inks...

The pieces that came out of the punches.. I saved and colored them too...

I found this palette with a cover... made by Ranger and it is for the alcohol inks... you put some of the ink into each well... and let it DRY...

Then using a refillable pen... you fill it with Solvent and can use that to pick up the color from the palette and color your stamped images...  I love the effect that it gives... it looks like water color... yet you have the control of a marker...
You can use the alcohol inks so many different ways.. but did you know this...

It is so very easy...  and will allow you another way to create with your Alcohol inks...
Okay... now you can use that same pen...  and fill it with the alcohol inks...

and on the band mark it with the color ink you have used...

Now go one step more...  you can CREATE your own colors...
like a light green using blues and yellow inks...  what fun... each pen is naturally refillable by YOU... with YOUR own bottles of inks that you use for other alcohol ink projects... really fun...  '
You don't have to have many... but hey... I love lots of colors... so I have a lot... and always find that I need more and more of these... to create new colors...

Hope you have enjoyed this little side show...  now on with the main event...
 K

Here is ALICE in all her glory with these cute little kittens...  I love it.. and she is GRATEFUL for them... she loves them dearly...

And here is Alice trying to project herself from a storm of little leaves... (the ones I punched out... )   So much fun...  and all the animals that she has around her... she has to be GRATEFUL for them too...
S
The letter S...  So many words of thanks for this letter... but lets say that this book is all about gratitude... and THANKSGIVING... and what a SPECIAL day that is of the year...  also for sharing with all our friends... and how about the SHEEP.. that give us the wool for our clothes... thanks for that to all the sheep out there...  and to all the shop owners too...  it is a SEASON of THANKSGIVING ... and I am thankful... thanks...

I Love this little book.. .but will be mailing it onto my Mom who loves ALICE... and she will enjoy this SPECIAL little gift...
I do hope that you have enjoyed it too...

THANKS for stopping by for a visit.. and I do hope that you take a look at Nature's Blessings...  wonderful stamps of all kinds...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Have a great day... and thanks for all the wonderful comments that you leave...  Love them all...

Love, Light and Peace..Bonnie

Saturday is for Snails and Zendalas

I have committed to doing Art every day for at least November with a challenge called....  Creative Art Everyday    and so I need to do art EVERYDAY ...  Love it... how special is this... being forced to do something that I love so very much.... LOL.. anyway, I hope that you will join in on the FUN and create and share with the rest of us... even though it is not the first the month... you can still join in...

So for today I have done a few pieces...
This one is a special one in honor of the hurricane Sandy... as the Sea really created a problem for so many areas... but one of the worse hit was my home for so many years growing up... New Jersey...  and I so loved the Shore... we use to have a house there, that was visited during the summer months... right near all the devastation...in Beach Haven Terrace.....  I am sure the house is now gone... as so many others are totally gone...  My heart and love go out to all the victims of Sandy and I do hope that they healing has started for all of them.  Such a long haul back to 'normal' and I send my love.

Of course the Snail is a very special critter for me... I use to use in college as a trademark for all my art work...  but I use to have it turned the other way around... with the Animal inside still living...

This one is totally open and floating along in the sea...  hoping to find a new beginning for it's life...  and this is the wish for all in this area of Sandy...  Please send your love to them all...   our son lives in NJ... and was with out electric for a couple of days... but is back to normal now...  while others in my family only had the lights flicker...  and some had no knowledge other than heavy winds and rain...  which I am thankful for in all ways.

Okay... so I am most likely tangling now... and when I get finished with my Zentangle... I will share that with you...so if it is not here... please check back in a little while for more...

Well Erin posted a most interesting mandala... and then gave us a challenge of all challenges...  we had to use the letters from the word PIE...  and pick tangles that began with those letters.. and one had to be one that we had never used...  There are still a lot that I have not used... so that was not a problem.. .

PIES... oh my goodness... I use to make so many pies at holiday time that people would not believe it... I love to make them...  so very much...  I don't think I have a favorite to make... or eat... I love them ALL... that is the BAD part...  The good part is that my hubby loves to eat them all... and he does a really good job on it... and they look good on him.. and not on me...  he is nice and thin...  and doesnt even show that he could eat like he does!!!  Why is it that men are like that... and women look at a pie and it shows??? LOL...  Anyway...
Here is the Zendala I did..

This stands for a lot of things... first off there are a lot of PIES here...  Apple, Pumpkin (I also always love to do one with Chocolate bits in it too.)  Persimmon, Cranberry Apple, Pecan and KeyLime...   They are all there...
Can you find them???

I also added a nice crust around the edge... rippled and all...  I also love to make lattice pie crust on the apple Cranberry... and of course pie has to be served with whipped cream and or ice cream to taste the best!!!  Wow... I think I had better go make a pie...  sounds too good to pass up.

Now for the tangles that I used...

Peaks-borders, Punkin, Ixorus, ennies.... which spells  PIE....  Yummmmmm
I used four different sets of colored pencils to obtain all the colors... and for example the apples have 5 different colors on them...  LOL... I got a little compulsive about it...  but  I did have fun with it... now I am going back out on my deck and finish my sunbathing... it is a glorious day here... and the sun is deliciously great... and it feels so very good...  I love it...

Hope you have a wonderful day too...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope that your day is wonderful and that you can join in on doing art everyday for at least the month of November...

The Letter F

November First... wow... where has this year gone???
I am still back in the early months... but the clock says differently...  at least it does here!!!

The Letter F....
With this TIA I tried to use all F tangles...  some are totally new to me.. but I had fun with them... and since I have done this TIA I have used the new tangles and have really gotten to know each one...

You really have to use these often to get them into your mind...  and also to be able to make them flow and be part of your feelings...

F... oh in my life... a Ford card... my first one...  Faeries, FUN, following through with thoughts...  and on and on... do you have any thoughts on this letter???  Let me know..  I love input from others on my projects... I might even use them in my book of memories...  you never know...

I decided that I should commit to doing the Creative EveryDay challenge… and so I signed up and will be doing a piece every day for a month… nothing really different for me… as art is my life in so many ways… but I will try and share more with you each day…

Have a fun filled fantastic day...  and thanks for visiting me...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
