Blessings Each Day....

Each New Day is a Blessing…. Oh how very true that is… no matter what is going on in your life… each day is a blessing… I had to use this saying and use this pretty apricot color to show the emotion behind that truth…  I started off with a K & co paper that is dotted… love it… I have a whole 12 x 12 folder of all my dotted papers… my very favorite printed papers… well some of them… anyway they are special to me…

Then I used a piece of off white/cream paper and ran it thru my Cuttlebug with the Kassie Embossing folder…  and used the same folder on the next layer too… on the next layer I used my H20’s to accent the layer.. and also another Just Rite stamp…. Love it…

The Butterfly is a Spellbinder … and I used some distressing glitter to accent it…

Now the flowers… I used the carnation set to create this more open style flower… and used a piece of paper that I painted prior to cutting out the flower… I also used some of the distressing glitter in the center of the flower along with a large pearl…

Hope these will get you to start to make some pretties for your cards…  I love making flowers… I think you knew that already… LOL…

Thanks for stopping by… have a wonderful day… and enjoy every single minute of it…

The very back of the project...

The front of the box again… in case you have forgotten what it looks like…  and t hen pages in the middle… you will have to flip back again to see them…
But now for the back of the box… my final part of this project…

Front of the project again...

I wanted to put a signature tag… as I always sign everything… I always hand write it too… Created with LOVE   by Bonnie and the date… like 2011…

Signature on back of box

this time I didn’t have room for the date… but did get all the other on this tag…  so that is in the lower left corner of the back…

Angel with Grunge board wings...

Then I had this really lovely tag from the paper set…  and had to use that… although I did use a set of Grunge board wings for her… and also used a post card from one of the sheets of paper in the set Once upon a Springtime…  I love that set of papers… and now I have a box to show how much I love them… and still have a lot of the paper left over…  no hardship there… I will use them when I feel the time is right for another special card or project…  (I did call up the store and have them put some more of the paper aside for me… as I love it… )  LOL… who said I was addicted to paper???  How do you know me so very well… ????  You are right… and I love every minute of it too…  hope you are loving what you do… and that you have found the inner child in you… and that you do allow her to come out and play every once in a while…
The back of the box...

Have fun when she is present…  and say hi to her from my inner child…  Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

Once upon a springtime center part of box...

Once Upon a Springtime

The inside of the box… okay… so many have written to me asking where I got the idea, or the box etc… I get these ideas as I work… and I built the box from acid free cardboard…  the box is 8.5 X 19 by 3 inches deep…
I put two covers on it… one on the left and one on the right… I put four legs on it that are Tim Holtz legs…  LOL… I think his legs look a little bit different… but they are legs that are in his line of product…

I am using the set of paper by Graphic 45 called Once Upon a Springtime… and it really is the inspiration that helped to create this project… you see I started off by starting to make some cards, using the paper… but didn’t really like any that I was coming up with… they looked like the cards that I always make… and I wanted something really special… so I started to realize that I needed a box… and then covers on each side to help protect the inside of the box… as you can see there are a lot of things here…

I got into my larger embellishments and found baskets, washtubs, Glenn found a birds nest in the middle of the pasture that day and guess where it ended up… yup… in the box… and then I made a little frame and all the flowers were made from the book pages and I used Tim Holtz Floral template… and then created each flower for the box…

A fun little bird house... for a cute little bird

I wanted something special for the title of the project, so I used a Spellbinder lacey oval and inserted some lace in it… and then put the banner over the top of it…

A little rusty tin tree with a wooden bird in it, is standing in the corner of the box by Mama Bunny… and her little ones…  ( we have so many baby bunnies in our yard.. love to see them hopping all over the yard..  so cute and sweet… and I pray that the stray kitties don’t get a meal from them… )
A real birds nest

I have a few wooden bird houses… so I picked the one I liked the best, painted it… and put a little bird on it… and glued it to the top of the center focal point… which is another one of those cards that I started to make…  this one is made from a Cuttlebug cut and emboss and I used a piece of parchment paper… which I colored and enhanced…  then I added a picture behind the opening and put it on a piece of my favorite Bo Bunny polka dotted paper…  love it… so much nicer in a box than as a card…

Mama Bunny wash bucket and basket...

Flower using pages from an old book
I know that you can’t see the 3D ness of this box… but the bunnies are all cut out and stand about ½ inch from the background… the items in front come right out to the edge of the 3inch depth of the box…  the birdsnest.. is right on the fringe of not allowing the covers to truly close flat…  but the little pieces of fiber that the mother bird used are flexible and keep the covers out…  LOL… great building mother bird… hope you have another nest for your babies…  this one certainly wasn’t strong enough for babies…  but it is perfect for my box… Thanks…

Feet by Ranger

Well only one more section to talk about and share with you… that is the Back of the BOX…. And then you will be able to see the whole box… just by flipping over these pictures again… I certainly have enjoyed sharing these with you… and from all the letters I have received you too have enjoyed it…  so very happy you have…

Thanks for stopping by… and come on back for the viewing of the back of the box…

Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

Another section of the project

Oh wow… I started this page out as a card… but then didn’t really know where to take it, so I put it aside… and then started on another card… and did that a few times and realized that I was not going to make cards with this paper set…. But something larger…

This was a funny situation…. The background behind the bird and fairy was made with a new stampin up set called Easter Blessings… I had just gotten that on Saturday… and wanted to play with it…  The branch was just screamin to be used… so I stamped it a few times… and then I colored the flowers, and the leaves… then I clear embossed it… then I painted it with my Twinkling H20’s.. then I outlined the branches… and then added distress stickles in the center of the flowers… I didn’t know what I was going to do with it… so I put it aside..  I have a box that has all kinds of things like that, that sits on my work space and when I need something to fill in, I always try to remember to look in there for something…

Anyway… I started this project and realized that I was going to be putting these side panels on the box… and I realized that I had this pretty piece of paper and decided to use it… I cut out some flowers from the Primrose paper in the set, and then found this black crow… (one of my favorite bird cut outs… ) and added a fairy to it’s back…

Then I had bought this really cute little wooden frame at the dollar store… and so I added a little bird house and also added some Tim Holtz tape all over the frame…  and hung it with a ribbon and bow….  Love it.

Do you have things that you never seem to have any real need for… and wonder why in the world you ever spent money on buying it???  Well this little GREEN lady bug is one of those things… I wanted a nice collection of bugs and saw these at some time and bought way too many… this is the first one I have used… LOL… but it does look cute here… and it fits in…  so I guess it is a good thing I bought them… they were only a dime when I bought them… so it was a good buy.

Cheryl Bennett, who had the week-end special down at Scrapbook Creations this week-end gave us all an adorable little box and inside of it there was some great fibers… a twine type of thing… and I used a piece of the pink and white to wrap around the background paper…  Thanks again Cheryl for a great time on Friday… and for the cute little box with fibers… loved every minute I was there…  would liked to have stayed longer…

The bottom of the background paper I made is another NEW Martha Stewart punch… I am so very bad… but this one, my good friend Marie talked me into …. And I love it… thanks Marie for making me more addictive than I already am!!!!  LOL.. Marie is as bad as I am… maybe worse!!!! Who knows and who cares… we just love getting all these fun toys…

Hope that you have a good day…
Make sure you come back tomorrow for the inside of the box…  it is a fun section… lots of fun putting it together…

More of "Once Upon a Springtime"

This is the cover on the left side of this box project… I have to inject that this project turned into something that I certainly was NOT expecting at all… it was really profound in so many ways…  I felt the inner child in me come alive and bounce into action… I loved every minute of playing with this project… and was really sort of disappointed when I finished it… I wanted it to last for ever and ever…  but I do love it, and can now admire it and enjoy it each time I look at it…

Okay… on this page, I put a pocket which I made from a card class I took over the week-end… so I decided to use it to put some tags in… the tags were all made from the Once upon a Springtime  paper collection…  I love these papers…

The background is a piece of Bo Bunny polka dotted paper… and then a Martha Stewart corner and border punch paper…

I added the little mouse reading a book with bows to make it fussy…  and a few fairies … and please look at the bird with another fairy on it’s back…  flying across the top of the page…

What fun I had with this page… the colors are bright and cheerful… and I love that papers…  I even made a matchbook, which is altered to fit in with the keys dangling from the angel on guard…

Hope you will come back to see the next page and inside of the box…  fun plus in each area…
Thanks for stopping by… please come on back for another segment of this project..

Just Rite Challenge with Butterflies...

I have been so very busy and didn’t have time to do the last Just Rite Challenge… ooops… but hey… family is very important… and so I felt it was justified… LOL…

Anyway… I did take time yesterday to make a card for the color challenge…  we could use a Blue… ivory and tan…  which I used all the colors…

Challenge card

I used the Bahama Blue and the Desert Sand  in the Memento marker set… and then I used the Antique Linen by Ranger (distress pad only on the embossing areas )  … as it was so very close to the tan in the picture on the Just Rite challenge…  so those are the colors I used…

Then I used a couple of old almost truly vintage paper…  for the backgrounds… one is by Provo (polka dots) … they haven’t been making paper for years… the other is by???  Un-marked… so I have no way of remembering where I got that piece of paper…

The Embossed trim is from the newest Tim Holtz embossing folders… called Fancy and Floral…  and I used the floral one as the borders, which I had to cut apart so I could use them...  and the Fancy one under the  center Just Rite Medallion…

Center medallion from the lovely Butterfly Garden

Okay… now the set called  Butterfly Garden by Just Rite…. Love it… so I had to use ALL the butterfly stamps… I inked them all up with Ranger Archival ink… in black… and then I used Antique Linen on each one… to turn them all that lovely light tan… then I used my Memento blue marker to color the flowers ever so lightly and the butterflies…  then used white copic to enhance the areas I wanted to stand out…. I used a very very tiny little brush… and it took me longer to do that… than the rest of the card… LOL.. but I do love details…

Top Medallion on the card

I used the Spellbinder Heart circle for the saying and the medallion background… a little light chalks around the edge… just to give a little more definition to the layered look…  a pretty 1.5 inch sheer ribbon for the bow and border…  which runs through the card… into the center and out again…

Lower Medallion from the Butterfly Garden

All the colors are so yummy together… love it… Thanks Just Rite for the challenge…  hope that you all enjoy trying this one too… join in on the fun with these challenges.. .they help to expand the brain… and also are fun… hope to see your card join mine… you have until Thursday…. So have fun making a pretty card…

Thanks for stopping by for a visit… and there will be more pictures of the special box tomorrow… so please come on back… (if you missed the post the day prior… please take a look at the special box I made for my Artistic  Muse and then follow along the rest of the week to see the whole project… )    I am also working on another configuration box… which is done in Tim Holtz style… love the roughness of this type of thing… and also love the frilly look… will have to try to blend the two… yikes what a great thought…  will have to try it soon…

Have a nice day.. enjoy the weather… no matter what it is… hope that some of you up north have a nice day… and even some warmer weather…

Once Upon a Springtime ... a Special project

The front of the box...

Sometimes I get so carried away with all the words… and so I will try and keep this as short as possible… Have you ever walked into a Scrapbook Store and seen a selection of paper that really makes your heart sing!!!!  Well that happened to me on May 13th… I went to an all day play day and found these papers… they are by Graphic 45… and called Once upon a Springtime…. I love the sweetness of these papers… and the colors, and just everything about them… I didn’t know what I was going to do with them, but I had to have them… I came home and looked at them, and finally put them into a manila folder and was going to put them away, but then I started to play with them… I created a couple of things… but they really didn’t do anything for me at all.. so again I put all the papers back into the folder… finally it hit me what I was going to create with them… and I started to play with them…

lower right of front of box ... fairy platelet

Top right corner of front of the box
So many different items are on the front of this box, that I am going to only show you the front and the inside cover today... you will see more each day... so please come back for more eye candy...

In this picture you can see a couple of the flowers... that I have made... the one above the fairy is made from the pages of a book... and then I used diamond glaze to make it porcelain like... and added some worn lipstick distress stickles...  which matches the colors perfectly...

The upper flower is made with a special paper and twinkling H20's... and molded to create this wonderful flower...  The butterfly is created with parchment... and then cut out and wings ready for take off...

Okay.. then you untie the green bow... and you will see this next section...

The fairies are really have a fun time here... the large one in purple has another flower by her... and this is a copy of the whole page...  which was 12 x 12 ... but the box is only 8.5 high and 10 inches in width... and three inches thick/deep....
Here is a close up of the purple fairy and flower....

There is also another flower on the top of the box that I made from pages from an old book...  dont' worry about the book... it was going to the dump... and I bought quite a few, and use them for altering...  a wonderful way to prolong the life of a book that has outlived it's useful life...

Most of the papers are Graphic 45... but as you can see I have added some of my favorite dotted papers... adn also some other ones...

So for now... I will close and bid you goodbye for the day... you will see more of this project... until I have shown it all to you...
Hope you have enjoyed what you have seen so far...

Please don't forget it is hard for me to get all these pictures up... and there are over 25 of them... so you have to please be kind...
I will show you all I have taken...

Hope you ahve a wonderful day... and enjoy creating...  Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

Hummingbird Blues....

Hummingbirds are so very special to see and enjoy… one day when my Hubby and I were sitting at the kitchen table enjoying a cup of tea with a friend, (with the door open to the deck… ) a hummingbird came into the room… looked at each and every one of us… and then turned around and left… we were all left totally speechless… what a wonderful gift that little bird gave to us… at the time I had about 20 germanium plants all around the deck… and the little bird was drawn to the red flowers…  so very special…  I should have put a red flower on this card, but wanted the card to be in soft colors…

I chose this background paper by K and Co and then went from there…  I made the little ones wings pop out by cutting them and allowing them to come up…  I love adding the paper laces and trims to surround the Just Rite medallions…  so very special…  I also had to add a luscious rose using my Spellbinder rose set… love that set…

Hope you can enjoy the birds that live around your home… even if you live in a city… there are plenty of birds there too…  enjoy them… one and all…

Have a good day… and see you soon… thanks for stopping by… and I love hearing from each and every one of you…  Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

A little Sweetie

I have a friend that sells Stampin Up… I generally have more stamps than I will ever use… but this set called Easter Blessings was so very cute with this little girl… that I had to have it…  so even though Easter is long past… I am still going to use it… because we collect eggs on the farm everyday… and this little girl could be living on a farm, collecting eggs everyday too…  So I am going to use this stamp a lot… I love it…

I will start at the background… I used a piece of paper to create the matching green paper… used my Tim Holtz stamper and created the paper with 4 different green inks…  then cut some Martha Stewart Paper lace for the edge….

Using a Grand Labels 4, I cut the next layer… and ran it through the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder…

Another piece of paper was put through a Cuttlebug frame to create the frame for this sweet little girl… I used a green ink pad to color the embossing….  Then mounted her in the middle of it…

Of course it had to have some pretty flowers around it…  so I added yellow flowers that I created with the Spellbinder flower die set… some foliage leaves… and  a lime green bow…  a few little pieces of paper lace here and there to add a pretty touch… and it was done… ready to be mailed…

Some gals asked me the other day how I mail these cards… as most are about an inch thick… and even if I do mail them… well these are not just any old card… it is a gift in reality… a piece of art work in my mind.. so I treat it as a gift…  I will use a blister package from something to put over the flowers and then put it into a padded envelope or box…  like a priority box that you can get FREE at the post office…. And mail it off…  I always use the word FRAGILE on the package and always tell my post master to use anything else word wise to protect this package…. They always seem to arrive in one piece and un hurt in anyway…  so for that I am glad…

When you put a lot of time into making a card… mail it off in the proper way… spend a little extra to make sure that the person receiving it, knows that it is special to you, the sender and then hopefully they will treat it the same way…  I also will only send cards to people who I KNOW will love them the same way…

Have a good day… and take care to enjoy the season around you…. Even if it is a rainy day… or overcast… each kind of day means something in nature…  enjoy it..

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.. .and hope you will come back again…  Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

Blue On Blue

Blue on Blue…. Does anyone remember that song??? I use to play it on the piano when I was a teen… yikes that was a few years ago!!!  Amazing how time flies… anyway… this card is blue on blue…

The whole Easel card

I used a piece of paper that was a Provo paper… paisley printed… with blues and a little green and a bright russet orange… so it fit my idea perfectly…

Then I layered a few of the Spellbinder Fancy labels… and little pendants to form the background for the Just Rite Medallion…. Love it…  I used my Memento Markers to color the Just Rite stamps….perfect….

Just the flowers...

Then I added a few flowers made with Spellbinders flower die and painted them with my H20’s…. love it…

It is really a very regal easel card…. I had to add a little daisy, (my favorite all time flower…) to pick up the back ground russet orange… just had to do that… a fun thing anyway…
The flower and stamp!!!

I had my son and daughter in law here for a few days and we had a lot of fun with them… one day, Casey and I went to an all day scrapbooking day… took a card making class and I also showed how to make these flowers… one gal who had never even scraped a day in her life, was so very excited about making this flower… it really warms one heart when you can open a door like that… hopefully this gal will continue to make tons of books, and enjoy endless hours with paper fun… and of course become as addicted as the rest of us are…. LOL… just hoping anyway…  she had a blast… so did Casey and I… A good fun girly girl day…  So now I hope to get back on track… and have a few cards to share from day to day…. Thanks for coming back to check on what I have been up to… it has been a wonderful time for me and also my hubby… having your kids around is so wonderful…  They even got to help in the gardens… so wonderful….

Hope you have a wonderful day… and thanks again for stopping by …. Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie

Circle of LOVE

When I am making cards I have to be totally relaxed or I don't get the feeling onto the cards that I want to have... today I was able to get so very many cards made... as I wanted to get ahead so that I could get ready for the kids arrival... and this one was one of the last ones.. I didnt' want it to end... I loved using all these pretty flowers... and just might have to make more... so that I can make another batch of flower cards... I love them...

This one I used a little bit of this and that... as there was still a lot left on the table... but I do like that way it came out...
The flowers were also the last little bits and peices too... but that was okay... as I loved making this one...

I used three of my favorite colors ... purple, turquoise and lime green... or any green would do.. but I used lime... love it... alive and great..

I used Antique Linen and Shabber Shutters distressing ink on the cuttlebug background... and then lined it with gold pen... the gold was to bring the gold line out on the Spellbinder and also on the embossed Just Rite medallion... love it..

Hope you have a wonderful day.. .I know I will... enjoy...

Happy Mother's Day to one and all

Happy Mothers Day to all women… as we are all mothers of the Great and wonderful Earth Mother…

I wanted to create a special something for our daughter for Mother’s day… and had been working on all kinds of projects over the past couple of weeks… and really didn’t know what to create for her…

Finally I realized that I would make a pretty bouquet of flowers for the top of a footed box!!!! YES… she loves boxes, loves Yellow and Green…  , loves pretty things… so yes… this was going to be a fun easy project… which it was…

Yellow Rose Bouquet on top of Box

I had bought about 8 boxes at the Dollar store a year ago… they were $1.00   I wish I could underline that and make it 10 feet tall… $1.00 for these great little wooden boxes… they are all different shapes and will all be turned into something fun…

This one I wanted to have feet on it… so I chose one that would allow me to do that… Rectangle it was…

Foot by Tim Holtz

Then I lightly sanded the box… not very much… as I wanted it a little rough… to hold the paint better… as I was going to use Twinkling H20’s….  in Olive Vine!!!  Wow what a wonderful color…  painted the box… then allowed it to dry… something that is very hard for me to do… but hey… I had all day to fiddle around with this project… and so no hurry… even though I wanted to see it all finished and ready to go to her…  YES!!!!
Lining of the bottom of the box with paper I painted

So while I was waiting… I painted a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper with H20’s for the lining of the box, then I painted some yellow roses for the  inside lid of the box….

The paint was still damp… so I have to wait some more… ugh… not good… maybe a light with a purple light bulb… it will act as the sun… nice a warm… ohhhhh that will help…

So I then decided that I would start on the flower bouquet for the top of the box…  Using my Rose Creations by Spellbinder, I cut out tons of flowers… using all the sizes… you just never know what you are going to need… I think I cut out 5 of each size… and then I painted them all yellow…  some of the smaller ones I used another color a little bit darker… for  the center of the roses…  I then molded each flower base and put them one inside of the other to create the flower…  Oh they are so very pretty… I love these flowers…  I used the lacey oval by Spellbinders for the base of my bouquet and then cut out some foliage (another Spellbinder set)  and placed that under the flowers…  so very delicate and wonderful…

Roses on top of box ... a closeup

Some pearls in the centers of each flower… and then a diamond glaze over each flower and the leaves…. Set aside to DRY….

And the box is still wet… but it is dry enough for me to glue the legs onto the box… which I did… I love these feet by Tim Holtz… great for all kinds of things… use t hem on even altered books… but legs…

So now everything is wet… so I will go make dinner…

Dinner is ready… and nothing is dry… so I let it all sit over night… and in between made a card… using a couple of the yellow flowers…  will show that to you soon…

Inside lid of box ... water colored roses

So I cut the paper that I painted for the lining of the box the next morning… and then inserted the water colored roses..  I did pop dot the roses so that they stood out away from the bow lid…

Then I again pop dotted the lacey oval and roses… Now the box is finished… and I love it… I know that our daughter will too…
the inside of the box

Hope that ya’ll have a wonderful Mother’s Day… and enjoy it to the fullest… sit down, do what ever makes you happy all day long… and totally enjoy…

Our daughter was here prior to mother’s day and our son will be with us for a week after mother’s day… what wonderful gifts to have them around us …. Love it…
Have a fun day… and thanks for stopping by for a visit… love it when you stop by and especially love to hear you comments…

Love, Light and Peace… Bonnie

Blue on Blue...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to every one... as we are all mothers in some way... Have a wonderful day...

Blue Flower on a blue background...  well sort of ... but you get the idea...

Actually I started this card off with some Paper lace made with a  Martha stewart punch... and then added a front panel with Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug folder...

Then I added my medallion... which I used a Just Rite in the corners also.. .and used pearl ex to make this soft silver/white color... the little bird.. is a bird of happiness... flying into say THANKS....

AS you can see I used a large pearl for the center of this pretty flower... and carried through with tiny pearls for the accents around the Square... love this little arrangement...  not too big... not too small.. JUST RITE!!!

Have a fun day... enjoy your time with family...
See you back here in a few days...

My kids will be visiting this week.. .so things might not get up as they usually do... sorry about that... but family is so very important to me...

Purple is in RULE of this card...

I love creating my own papers... and this one was no exception...  I used a Just Rite stamp and clear embossed and then painted with my h20's... love the look... I just stamped... and had fun... no measuring or anything... just FUN!!!

Then I started to layer... as always...

A little paper lace by using a Martha Stewart punch... and then I added some K and Company paper... and then the medallion, which I chose to use the Oblong oval... love that for this stamp... so elegant... of course I had cut the stamped area out... and popped it.. the stamped was embossed with gold... and then painted with h20's...

Here you can see the vibrancy of the paints... they just make the flower shimmer and shine...

The two flowers on each side are Pretties by Bonnie Flowers... and leaves...

I had to add one more little turquoise flower... just to tie in the others...

Now this just had to go onto this card...

This is a really old Spellbinder.. in fact I think it is retired now... but I love it... what a cute little charm for a perch where a cute little bird can build a nest... so much fun... make a story on your card... and enjoy it...  I love adding critters.. as they make the card that much more alive...
The lower left hand corner also has a little nosegaze and I created this doily by using a Martha punch and then cutting the hearts out and gluing onto a Spellbinder oval... a fun touch...

The white sheer ribbon flows from the right top of the card to the lower left of the card... with a little sentiment of Sending Happy thoughts... a nice way to say Happy Mothers day also... as I have a lot of these cards to get finished and into the mail...

Hope you have a wonderful day... and see you again... at least I hope so..

Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
