Okay... so I am still making flowers... actually I made so many that I had to use them up on cards... so I decided to make a lot of cards ... cards that were going to cost extra to ship... but hey... when you send a card... send from the heart...
This card comes with a lot of love attached... as it is going to a dear friend who just lost her Grandfather...and she had been nursing him since January... so this have been a very difficult time for her...
I hope that she heals quickly... she needs a good day of playing with paper... NOW... so hopefully after the funeral she will be able to come over and play...
So I had all these pretty flowers... and I HAD to use them up... I love them...
I started out with these cards like I do with all the other ones perviously mentioned... with the medallion and then kept on adding...
This one has a copper butterfly up in the left hand corner... the spirit always releases with a butterfly... so very pretty...
The stamps... okay... Just Rites... cut out with Spellbinders, and then a little Martha lace around the card... I used a nosegay for the flowers to sit on... a sort of doily effect..
Hope that you have a good day... and that if you have lost someone near and dear that you too heal quickly...

When I followed my Heart it Led me to YOU....
When I followed my HEART it led me to YOU…
A card for someone special in my life… so I had to add a few white butterflies… don’t you think the butterflies were necessary???
Anyway… here is the way the card came together… The medallion made a week or so ago… and then the flower day… and then a butterfly day… and then a day of punching papers with Marie… and her punches… and then a day of playing and putting things together…
Do you have things that you have made when you are in the mood to do a certain type of thing… like making background papers, or maybe making flowers, or maybe punching paper, or maybe just putting it all together… that is what my life has been like for the past few weeks here… and it has been really different and a lot of fun… I don’t’ spend one day just making ONE card… seems like that kind of time is not available in my life these days… but I can spend a day making butterflies… and totally enjoying that… or making medallions… or stamping or cutting … or what ever makes me happy… I do it… it seems not to be wasted or anything… I do have bins of things to use for scrapping or for card making or even for making some of my small books… which I am working on three at the present time… will share those when I am finished with them…
Anyway… I do have all these things in bins, or files that I can flip thru and find things that I want… and create a special card… these past 4 cards have been products of that kind of thing… and I have to say they have been very enjoyable… now all I have to do is to spend a night on line trying to upload them onto this blog…
That is another step… I write out on Word all these words for each and every card… and save it with the pictures of the card… then when I am up in the middle of the night… I log on… and upload each picture and the word document on the right day… and schedule the time of when you will see it… I try and work a week or two in advance… but sometimes that is just not possible… or maybe I have worked on something else… and no cards… then I am like I am now… working on the line… oh well… I will return with more… to be assured … I am always making things… so just hold on.. and come back and visit ….
Have a fun day… a creative day… and also enjoyable… see you soon with more…

Butterflies and Flowers
Each New Day is a Blessing
And isn’t that the truth… Another new set from Just Rite… and of course I had to have it… love the saying and the stamps that go along with this set… I stamped them all, but the saying got used first… LOL.. no one says you have to use them all together … that is what is so fantastic about Just Rite stamps… you can truly mix and match with so many things…
Anyway… this set was due again to the challenge for Just Rite… to make a flower using a spellbinder… which of course I did… this one I created with the Carnation die… three layers large, medium and small… and I used a piece of paper that I had painted with my H20’s and so the flower does twinkle… I used some Distressing stickles in the center of the flower also… so that gives it a little bit more glitter….
The Butterfly another new die from Spellbinders also has some Distressing stickles in the wings… I love these new toyz I have … can’t live without new things and also adding to the older toyz… love them all.. and I do use them all … SOoooooo I had to make another butterfly and of course had to add that to another card for the Challenge... That is my style... right???
On this one I did use a few other things... The Martha Stewart Punch is a new one... and also the Just Rite Stamps were really special.. the Rose and Butterfly were added to finish the card...
Hope that you have a wonderful day today… send someone you love a card and tell them that you love them… I try and do that each and every day of my life… it just makes sense to share and love people..

Enjoy Life's Simple Moments
Enjoy Life’s Simple Moments
Do you do this?? I am trying, but sometimes life seems so complicated and busy that I am not sure which end is suppose to go into which direction… LOL… do you ever had days like that????
Well I seem to be having a lot of them lately.. .but that is okay as I try and come into the studio and play and create a few cards ….
So this card came together really in a very different way… about a week ago I get quite a few sets of Just Rites… and decided to take the quiet afternoon and just make medallions… using all the new stamps… I had so very much fun.. and came up with 20 some odd medallions (the center part of the card) and put them all into a box to use as I needed them… and then the fun starts…
I also of course had the Just Rite Challenge in mind and thought I would be prepared a little bit in advance… and then when I saw that we had to make a flower… I was in my GLORY… I love to make flowers…
Makes good common sense… right???
Well the flowers are so very much fun to make.. I love making them… and love the way that they turn out… really fun… pulled some paper out that would tie the whole card together … and voila’ have a new card… one that will go to a friend… who is always sending me wonderful cards and ideas… Thanks, I really appreciate it… and you know who you are…
The butterfly… made from a layered sticker… and copper mesh… love the different textures of this type of card… paper, satin ribbon braid, copper mesh, paper flower made with sparkling paints, punched paper… all different textures…
Hope you will play today… create a card… send it to a friend and have tons of fun while making it… she will know that when she receives it… believe me she will…
Have a wonderful day… and enjoy… thanks for stopping by and hope you will come back again tomorrow ….

A Play Day....
Oh what fun we had… making flowers and cards...
The bottom flowers on Joy card... more below |
Sande
Sande making flower layer |
and Marie
Marie making a flower layer |
and I played making flowers… we had so very much fun… first off we had lunch… then we got started having fun… talking is all part of it… and we certainly did a fair share of that…
Then we got down to serious business… making flowers!!!
First off I have to refer to a card I made for the Just Rite Challenge… as this is what started the whole flower thingy… I wanted to make a card… but had really cut my finger very deeply… thank you to all that worried about it… my immune is very strong, so in a two days I was back to normal… but because of the cut, had come up with a new way of making flowers… I was unable to ‘twirl’ the stylist to create the paper to bruise… and turn up… so what is the next best thing??? To pound on it… which I did… and it was a little hard, so I used my water sprayer and spritzed some water onto the painted flowers… voila’ it was a wonder… and then I layered them to create SOME flowers… well if you know me at all… I am very prolific.. so I made quite a few flowers… but had to share with friends… so here are Sandy and Marie making their flowers… (by the way… both loved the flower that they made too.. and we found a few more techniques too… ) so much fun to play and create..
Well…. Here are a few of the cards I put together after they left…
I again have to refer back to tell you that I got some new Just Rites… and HAD to play with them… so I stamped them all… some in ink, some embossed … and then I sat and colored them in with markers, H20 paints what ever I felt in the mood to do… each one is alittle different as you will see.. .I got over 20 of these stamped and colored… then I started to mount them onto papers or onto spellbinders etc… what ever moved me with each unique piece… that is one thing that I really find so very enjoyable about using Just Rites… each time I use one, it is entirely different… no two are alike… I really have a hard time doing that… after I had each medallion made, I then made the card for each one… 5x7, 6x6 or 5.5x8.5 three of the sizes that I use all the time… then I placed a medallion on each one… and had ‘kits’ made up for each one of the medallions… a flower in each pile… naturally to match the color scheme… and then a bow or two… and other flowers that I wanted to use… maybe even an embossed background paper… leaves and anything else that I felt had to go with the making of each card…
So that is what I did… and here are the first ones off the production line…. LOL.. some production line huh???
I really had a fun day with Marie and Sande… and also had a lot of fun even after turning all the flowers in to cards… Hope that you will have fun with making flowers… they are a lot of creative fun… and we used generally the Rose Spellbinder set… it was just perfect… and also H20’s to color the paper… a little glue, a gem stone or pearl in the middle and it is almost as good as real…
Have a fun time making some… And t hanks for stopping by for a visit… See you soon… more cards will be following tomorrow… some back for another visit…

Little Boys... a bonus in life
Little Boys cards…
My Grandson is only 6.5 years old… but seems to be far more aged than kids use to be… he is into more grown up things than snails, and frogs, and peek a boos… but I still have the desire to make these little boys cards… and I do…
So hopefully he will enjoy them even though he is into Racing dirt bikes and high powered things… little boys should always enjoy frogs, snails and worms… right????
So here are a few cards that I have made to send to him, when I need to say I LOVE YOU…
Hope you have a wonderful day…

A Just Rite Challenge
Plant Smile,
Grow Laughs,
Harvest LOVE…. What is more sweet than that???
Just Rite’s challenge this week is to make a card… or item…. That has some flowers on it made from Spellbinders…. Oh how much fun… I used the Rose set… and created the flowers with the large pearls in them… I painted them to match the background… I got so carried away, that I had to add some soft small silk flowers too… and then a ton of bows… oh what a fun time I had with this sweet feminine card… It actually took me a lot longer than I thought it would… as I started this morning with the background…
I hope you can see the twinkle here!!! |
by painting the background with my twinkling h20 paints… I wanted the card to glimmer ever so softly… and be very elegant and rich… but not gaudy at all..
Well then I realized that I needed to make some bread… and also some soup for today’s meals… so I made some asparagus soup… as our asparagus are really turned on now and we are getting more than I can handle… so soup is a way to use a lot of them… and also it is delicious… with some Shiitake mushrooms and shallots… yummy
Okay… cleaning up, I cut my finger to the bone!!!! My left thumb… which I use to do almost every thing… even making bows… yikes… never realized it…
Anyway… I stopped the bleeding, put on some soothing music, and typed a few e-mails with my right hand… to some friends… and quieted down… and the bleeding stopped, and I then put a band aid (gauze and masking tape did you expect something more glamorous??? ) on my finger and went on with my life… a little wounded, but living… LOL.. But that was the better part of three hours… so you have to take that away from the time spent on making this card… right???
I used one of the Grande label 4’s for the background… and then trimmed it in gold pen… behind that plate, I used the Swiss dotted embossing folder for a large sheet… you see this card is 5.5 X 8.5…. a biggie… and the lacey oval is over the edge on top of it… LOL… love it… a special envelope, and extra postage… that is my style all the time… never fails… but I wanted this to be a very, very special card… and I think it is…
I used my Twinkling h20s also on the flowers to create the same color as the roses on the background print… I love how these roses turned out… as it is the first time I have used this set by Spellbinders… of course I had to add another sign of life… and added the birdhouse…
There are 5 bows on the card… nested in between flowers and leaves… oh yes… the leaves are also created with a Spellbinder… the foliage set… I use Spellbinders so much every day, that it is second nature.. I forget to mention it sometimes.. they are really a very necessary tool in my studio… and of course when you are as addicted to a stamp company as Just Rite… you need them for all the pretties there too…
They are not a luxury they are a NEEDED tool in my mind… very important… they go hand and hand… along with my markers…
Hope that you like this card and it gives you some ideas on how to create flowers using you Spellbinders… and also MAKES you create some… come on and join in on the fun… and you just might win some of these great prizes… wow… what more could you ask for… the prizes are great…
Hope you have had a good day… all in all I have, but do have a sore finger… but am able to type better and my sweet hubby is now putting the finishing touches on our dinner… what a sweetheart he is… I could never ask for anything more from him. He is wonderful…
Thanks for stopping by for a visit… and please come back soon… comments left are always appreciated… and hope that some day I will be able to leave messages on all your blogs… it is really difficult to get onto some blogs… they take so very long to down load… but I know that you are all making GREAT things… just wish I could see them all…

Thinking of YOU
Thinking of YOU…
A few weeks ago, a good friend came over to play… Marie and I had a blast… anyway… here is yet another card with some of the Sweet Stamps that she brought over… I love these… I had to use a Just Rite in the center.. and the little bird looks so sweet looking at it…
How cute is this sweet card.. I would love to receive a card like this…
I used a dotted paper for the background… and then added a swiss dot paper that was cut using a Spellbinder label four… I have the large and small set of these and love them for all kinds of unique cards…
Hope you have enjoyed this card.. I had a lot of fun making it… that is for sure…
Have a super nice day… enjoy the outside flowers…

Azaleas
I had to share this with you... the Azaleas in the yard are just beautiful this year... they keep on getting prettier and larger every year... Love them all.. but this particular "BUSH" is about 6 feet tall.. maybe even larger, as I can't really tell because the land is on a slope there..
Anyway... I call it the orchid Azalea bush... here is a bloom from it... I put it on the keyboard to show you how large the blooms are.. they are huge... About 3 1/2 inches square... and the color... so very pretty and PINK...
This is another view from the deck area in the back of the house... you can see the pink dogwood over on the left side of the picture... and the Azaleas are just starting to bloom.. they will continue to get more and more blooms as each day passes...
A few pinks, a few lavenders and of course there are dogwoods all over the place for the added whites...
A view of colors of all kinds.. the greens are very green now, as they are just blooming... so everything is BRIGHT plus...
This is a picture of going up the driveway... away from the house... it is lined with azaleas and up where the driveway starts to turn to the left is where the Orchid Azalea is...
There are azaleas hiding in each area of the yard... it is massively wonderful....
Here are two more in the back yard... the white one has really turned into a white massive bush since Glenn took this picture... it is about 7 feet tall and about 10 feet in width... huge bush...
They all have their own time when they bloom.. so the yard is a constant change each and every day of the year...
When I look out my office window I see the back side of this large Azalea... it is one of the first to bloom in the yard... as it is close to the house... where it is warm... and it is on the west side of the house... and so it gets a lot of afternoon warm sun...
There are about three or four together in that area... but the white one is about 6 feet tall... and shows thru the windows in the office... what a lovely view...
Looking out beyond the walkway... you will see the woods edge again... and here is where they start to line up... all the way around the house.. one is prettier than the next... larger than others... and the colors are all different... pinks, whites, lavenders, and even one that is a little on the orange side... or maybe coral would be a better word to describe one that is the very last to bloom...
Looking out beyond the white dogwood there are still more bushes to see... whites, and pinks mixed in together... they look like they are one bush... but they all bloom at different times so you can tell that there are each an individual bush...
The Large white one Azalea out front... right next to one of our magnolias... the Magnolia is about 30 feet tall now... a young tree... but very pretty none the less...
The White azalea is about 6 feet tall... maybe a little bit taller... but you get the idea...
I love our yard... can you tell.. I will take more pictures so you can see what it looks like as it progresses... these pictures were taken on the 11th thru the 13th of April... and now it is the 18th... so they have changed...
But I post at funny times... and have to get onto the computer when everyone else is off of it... makes things run a little bit smoother for me.. so have a wonderful day... enjoy the SPRING around your home... and hope you have enjoyed some of our flowers...

A Manly Man's card
Happy Birthday to a Friend….
I don’t’ make many Men’s cards… as I really find that I don’t’ have the right things to make a man’s card… but I can do it when I really put my mind to it..
So here is one attempt…
A friend that Loves tennis… wow…. How cute is this little guy… it is a digital image and I love it… so great for this too… I colored the image, and then using a Spellbinder label, I cute two pieces… one for the background… and then using a Cuttlebug template, I cut the word’s It’s your day ….
The inside… wow.. I really had fun with this.. I love cupcakes… and if we ate them, I would have a display of them all the time on the table… LOL… I never make cupcakes… as I don’t’ use wheat flour… and we don’t’ eat sweet things like that… but I do love putting them onto cards…
I used a Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder for the words… and then using a cupcake punch, and stamp create the rest of the inside… I did use liquid pearls for the designs on the cupcake… and the cherry… what fun is that… the dimensional pearls by Ranger are perfect for this kind of embellishment… love them…
A few gold Happy Birthday stickers and the card is ready to be mailed…
I know that he will love this.. and hope that it helps for a Happier Birthday for him….
Thanks for stopping by for a visit… and see you soon…

White Dogwoods
Around our yard we have a lot of white dogwoods... very typical of the area we live int... they are all over the place.. and one is prettier than the next... This one is in our front yard.. right out the front of the studio... so I look at this tree all day long... and see all the pretties beyond it also... I can't get a good picture of the whole tree unless I walk way up the driveway... it is way too large.. this picture was taken from the studio door!!!! LOOKING up in the tree...
What a wonderful site...
This is another white dogwood on the edge of the house... as you can see there are lots of Azaleas that have not bloomed yet... we are waiting for all to be in bloom... love the visions they give to us each and every year....
We have all different colors in them.. as you will see in the next batch of flowers in our yard blog...
So be on the look out for them...
Have a wonderful day and enjoy each and every flower you see... each one is truly a gift...

Pink Dogwood
So many people have written to me asking me about my flowers around my home.. and so I thought it would be fun to take some pictures and share with you some of the views that I have during the spring months...
There is a dogwood outside our home in the back yard... we have no way of knowing how old it is... as we have only lived in on our farm for 9 years so far...
But this is the largest Dogwood we have ever seen and also one of the deepest PINKS we have ever seen also...
WE are not prejudice about this tree... it is huge and deep pink... I hope that you can see the true color of the pink and also what beautiful blue days we do have here in the mountains of North Carolina... they are wonderful days...
This will show you some of the surrounding azaleas in the background that are just starting to bloom also... our entire yard is surrounded by woods... and between the woods and the house there is a 'lawn' and on the edge of the lawn, AZALEAS line the property.... all the way out the driveway too...
I will share some of those later on this week...
Here is the tree... but the size is really not relative in this picture... as there is really nothing to relate it to...
But believe me it is a heavenly tree... and the color very intense...
When you walk into our backyard at this time of year that is all you can see... wow... I love it..
Hope you enjoy these...
Have a wonderful day...

For my Daughter
Oh I loved making this special card… Our daughter came up for the week-end… and I wanted to give her a special card… so this is what I created…
Using Just Rite stamps it was easy… I did fussy cut the Mom and little girl out… ugh… but it was really worth the effort.. I loved the way it came out… and I mounted that on the circle of LOVE…
A few weeks ago I bought this paper… and I am trying to use these special pieces of paper… so I cut into it… and used it… I wanted the leaf in a special place so that I could cut it and raise the petal up and over the circle…
One the lower half, I used a Fancy Tag with another Just Rite saying… and then added a border using another new spellbinder.. but had to add some braided ribbon for a nice accent… love the way it turned out…
The FLOWER!!!!! I used the new flower Spellbinders and used the carnation one… I cut and created the three D plus flower….
Love it… Was glad I didn’t have to mail it…
Have a fun day… tell someone you love them…

Happy Mother's Day to YOU!!!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you…
I know that you will see a lot more Mother’s Day cards on this site… but this is one that I just made for the Just Rite Challenge…. It took me a long time to create this card… I have so many WONDERFUL Just Rite stamps that I had to stamp quite a few to see which ones I liked the VERY BEST…. Then I still had to think about which one I was going to use for this challenge… there were so many that made such a lovely statement… and this one won out…
BUT I have to tell you something… in the process of deciding which one to use… I did stamp a whole bunch of the choices, colored them in… cut them out with Spellbinders… layered them etc… and now I have a lot of really pretty ‘medallions’ all ready for cards or scrapbook pages… LOL… so is that ever neat or what???
I am totally in love with these stamps… for many reasons… I have a lot of stamps… far more than I need… but so many of them just don’t STAMP correctly… they miss in areas, are lighter or darker than desired etc etc… and Just Rite’s stamp perfect for me each and every time… I love the designs as they are my kind of themes… pretty, delicate, loving, the sayings are things that if you knew me you would think that I asked Just Rite to make a stamp with these words on them… I love them all the way… just wish that I had all of them… I am working towards it… believe me….
Okay… now this challenge is to use a picture and create a card using the theme or the colors…
So I did both in my opinion..
I really did enjoy the whole process behind this card… a lot of decisions had to made each step… but what fun I had…
The card has two side panels and on them, I put a very delicate yellow dotted paper… and then used Cuttlebug embossing folder for the frame background… and then built up with Spellbinder ovals… the bottom green edging is another Spellbinder, but I used a braided ribbon on top, which I did make myself… it is called the butterfly loop braid… love making them… and they add so much to these stamps…
Okay… the tag… another WONDERFUL Just Rite set… this set has so many GREAT reasons to use it all the time… there is always a saying that is perfect for every occasion… and if you look at Just Rite’s newest releases… you will see that they are releasing yet another set to go along with these… WOW… what fun… So this card, I used the Happy Mother’s Day and colored the border with a Memento marker that I won on a Just Rite Challenge… I received the whole set… and don’t know how I lived with out them… they are great colors and seem to do so very much… I do have a few sets of markers, but find that these colors seem to make the perfect set…
I added one of the crocuses from the stamp on the edge of the tag… just to tie the two in together… love the accent of this… so delicate and sweet…
I used the Spellbinder Butterfly set, and then ran it thru the Swiss Dot Embossing folder… what a fun pretty butterfly… I used pop dots under the wings, so that when this card is shipped, the butterflies will still stay as you see them… the tiny little peach bow was added on top of the stamps already present bow…
Well, I hope that the person that will be receiving this, has a wonderful Mother’s Day… I send Mother’s Day cards to a lot of friends that need that special type of card, for so many reasons..
Thanks for taking a look at my cards.. and also for leaving all the wonderful comments that you do… I do wish that I could get onto your site and leave messages.. but this WONDERFUL dial up… (tongue in cheek) doesn’t allow me to visit too many sites at all..
Have a super nice day, and enjoy all the flowers around you…
Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie
